When I started MFP I wore 3x pants....I bought a pair of 2x and wore them this morning...I should have gotten smaller ones because I had to pull the waist up to my boobs!...they were not expensive so I am keeping them but I won’t be wearing them very long!...I also got rid of my 3x tops and I am wearing a loose 2x...also took the extenders out of my bra!....I think my ear rings are looser too, lol9

Rock it out @conniewilkins56!!1

omg! I just got my lab results back and my A1C is back down to 5.8 AND a couple of other results are back within normal range!! When I can I'm going to do a cartwheel.9

I think this counts... I went to my first spin class today! I've never done a gym, or a group fitness class, and definitely not spin.class, so this was a first! and I survived. 😃
it was definitely a challenge, but the nice thing is you get to choose your own resistance settings (and can sit if you need/want to). I pushed myself, but didn't try to keep up with others. looking forward to my next class!10 -
Well done @amkita, that definitely qualifies as a NSV!3

downside: my thighs have been sore all day. apparently outdoor cycling and indoor cycling use different leg muscles.1

We planned a trip before the surgery to mark what we believed and what turned out to be the end of the major hurdles of healing. We just got back. While away I purchased a souvenir shirt which is my first (another refirst) in at least 2 decades.
I am also happy to report that I did enough exercise and movement each day I was away to satisfy my normal daily goals. Of course I ate too much too but that is another story.
For some reason I am quite sore today which I do not completely understand unless I am sympathetically sore because of @amkita.4 -

I do hope it's not sympathetic soreness!
day 2 post spinning, still slightly sore. dang. I signed up for another class this weekend, but hopefully the soreness won't be as bad the second time around.
muscles are really good at letting us know they haven't been used in a while.2 -

My soreness continues too. Slightly less than yesterday. I haven't done anything new which is why this is odd. The only thing that happened was a 4 day break from the elliptical. It may be partly due to the mass exodus of water weight that has begun.2 -
Had an awesome NSV today.
When I started going to the gym earlier this year, I couldn’t do the assisted pull up machine because I couldn’t lift myself even with the 200 lb counter balance weight setting on the machine.
Today, I was able to do it - with less than 200 lbs counter balance!! I’ve lost over 50lbs since I tried it last, and gained some muscle, and it was really great to lift over 100lbs of my own weight!! Yay!9 -

That is amazing!!!!2 -
Had a couple NSVs over the past day.
The first one was last night, during our company holiday party. I drank two beers right near the start and didn't feel warm at all. Usually anytime I drink alcohol (which is fairly rare now), I turn red in the face, get overheated and start sweating. That didn't happen at all last night, and I remembered that being a thing I noticed last time I lost a bunch of weight. I was very happy as I've avoiding drinking in public for years because of that.
Also, this morning I pulled another pair of previously-too-tight pants over from the "not yet" side of the closet. A nice pair of dress pants. I probably should have earlier, as they're fairly loose on me now.7 -
It seemed to take forever to go down a size, I was over 20kg into my loss before I noticed clothes fitting differently. But now I'm down three sizes from where I started. Bought a new pair of trousers yesterday in a size I was wearing 12 years ago. Exciting times😁😁4
-
@maiomaio71 that’s awesome!!! Congrats 🎉 Three sizes is an amazing difference, way to go!!
I was thinking something similar today - how can I lose 50 lbs and still be wearing the same size?!?! They do fit better though, but like you said, takes a while to notice a difference. Your post is inspiring!!4 -
@tiffany80802017 I thought I was going to stay in the same size forever! Finally I'm seeing real changes. It's been almost 9 months...3

I took my first full week vacation in a very long time this past week. I went to Disney and Universal and I had no trouble fitting on any of the rides. I had been avoiding places like this for the longest time because of my size. It feels so good to be able to just go and do things and not have to worry about whether I can fit or if I weigh too much to do an activity. The freedom I now feel is really indescribable and I am so grateful for all the changes that I have made over the past year that made it possible.7

That's Awesome!! Good for you!!1 -
@tiffany80802017 I am in the same boat. Almost 50 lbs gone & still in the same size. I gain & lose very evenly, so not sure when I'll get down to the next size, but I know it will come eventually.
I went to the Dr. on Friday and (last appt with this Dr. was late May). My blood pressure was low, but not making me dizzy or anything yet. I knew it had been on the low side of normal the last 2 appts I had at different doctors, so she decided to take me off of my blood pressure medicine. I still take one med that has a side effect of lowering my blood pressure & a cholesterol med, but losing the first one is a win for me! I just have to monitor my bp a couple times a week to make sure it's staying normal, but she seemed pretty confident it would. My bloodwork will be done at my next apt in May or June, so we'll see how the cholesterol does then.3 -

My turning point was 5.5 years ago when we were at an amusement park and I asked my 5 year old if he wanted to ride a ride. He told me that it was ok since my tummy was too big to ride it. I decided right then that there would never be a thing he wanted to do that he cant because his mother is fat. I love roller coasters and not having to worry about fitting is amazing. Many people laughed when I said it was my motivation to loose the weight but they have never waited in line for 5 hours (opening to the superman ride at Six Flags) only to be told that you don't fit and would need to step out of line. Its good to see someone else have the same motivation!! So happy you were able to have a great time!

@jlucas210 Wow! That’s amazing to have such a big change in BP and resulting change in meds. Congrats!! Good luck on the cholesterol!!
I’m going for a routine visit on Wed and will be interested to see if my cholesterol or BP changed since losing weight. Hoping to see at least a HDL increase Regardless, I’m going to keep it going, and am positive next year I’ll move down a size or two2 -

My nephew and I spent the weekend doing teenagery things including going to an amusement park where I rode 5 different roller coasters. My very fit 17yo nephew had trouble keeping up with me. Granted he was one week recovered from having the flu but I still took it as a win.
It is an unbelievable feeling looking around and realizing that I can actually fit in everything. I had always wanted to try go carts but I always knew I would not fit... that was fun.

@NovusDies that's brilliant, well done it sounds like a lot of fun.2

I hit my gym goal this month even though I was traveling and out of town for half the month. For the longest time, I did not set goals for myself. I am now setting goals and I find that it really helps to keep me on track and motivated and makes me do things that otherwise I would avoid (like get out of bed early on a weekend when its rainy and cold to go to the gym) or making myself go to a class at the gym that I know ahead of time will be very challenging when I'm not in the mood to exercise.3

Over the holidays I did a bit of flying to and from relatives and this is the first time in a looooong time i didnt sweat the airplane seat belt.. there was one moment of panic but it was just a twisted seatbelt. It is a profound feeling when something becomes a non issue. Next flight I am going to return the seat belt extender I "borrowed" a few years ago.5

Yesterday I bought size 12 jeans. This is the first time I have worn this size in a very, very long time (like 20 years ago). They are snug but they fit.8
-
One more: my belt is now on hole 13!! I started at 8, and hung around 11 for a while but now we are at an all time high.5
-
I got an honorable mention in a step challenge this past week with 78,789 steps in a week. Last year at this time I barely got 3500 steps a week and have worked hard to get to this point so I'm really proud of myself. In case anyone is wondering the winner's circle people were over 100k in steps for the week.8

Yesterday, I broke my step record for a day. 37k!
Really feels like a victory because I don’t feel super terrible the next day or have blisters. A year ago, if I even walked 20k steps, I’d barely be able to move the next day and generally have blisters.
Now I do about 17k steps on most days (including exercise steps). This was helpful for me to break the record11 -
My lab results are in and my A1C is now normal! High, normal - but NORMAL!!!!8
