I think the NSV thread in the main forum is great and full of inspirational stories. However, this one means more to me because it is a smaller setting with people I know better. I also feel a little more comfortable sharing here even though this group is public it is not AS public as the main forum.4

This group feels more like “ home”2 -
@conniewilkins56 - agreed, our LL group does indeed feel more like "home" - safe and familiar.
...and, I've been meaning to ask, your new picture features something in a casserole-type of dish, what's cooking?!1 -

It’s a low calorie beef stew that doesn’t have much beef in it lol0 -
Sometimes I make things and then can’t remember what I put in it!1

the most recent NSV victory I had was being able to actually correctly and completely fasten the spanx body suit I wore under a dress over Christmas. Before, I'd just pull it down as far as I could and leave it unfastened, but I actually was able to get it clicked, and was a good thing too, because the dress needed the form underneath shaped to look good!4

I bought myself a pair of men's large sweatpants and a lady's xtra shirt last night and they both fit! My last set was a size up in each catagory, so I'm pretty proud of myself. The shirt makes me look a little like a stuffed sausage, but I know before too long it will nice on me.5

When I initially had my fitness assessment at the gym last February, I could only manage a 9 second plank. Today in my body pump class, I was able to perform a caterpillar plank for a full minute.8

That is awesome! Planks are hard.1

My apple watch gave me a goal of 1640 minutes of exercise for a January achievement badge. It was supposed to take all 31 days based on my previous exercise history. I finished it yesterday in 20 days.5

One of my NSVs in the near future needs to be to learn what a plank even is. I kind of doubt that it references a motivational tool on a pirate ship.2

I don’t think I even want to know about a plank...I am doing good getting myself to go to the gym twice a week for a short bike exercise!2

No. You are doing great. It is not a short bike exercise it is just bike exercise. Words like long and short are relative. I remember walking around my block the first time. Someone else might think that half mile stretch was nothing but for me, at the time, it was epic. Thinking it was a short walk might have given me an excuse to skip it when I didn't feel like repeating it. Instead it was a glorious accomplishment that I might have even considered worthy of celebrating in song (ok, I didn't think it was that great). I kept doing it which helped me add to it.5 -
^ completely agree!1
-
Totally agree. My first walks were as much a mental challenge just to start walking as they were physical.
Joined the gym this week. Finally! I have been given a decent upper body workout. My knee has been troubling me so I'm trying the recumbent bike and aqua jogging for cardio (just want a change from walking). Did the aqua jogging today so I'm waiting with bated breath to see how my skin copes...I suffer from eczema and chlorine often sets it off. Hopefully it's mild enough that I can go in the water a couple of times a week. This is a NSV because joining a gym and exercising in public is massive for me, and getting into a swimming pool (even the private one) is also huge.5 -
I haven't been able to post here in a while, but as of this morning I'm down another pants size. Started at 58s and I'm wearing 46s today. Shirt size went from a 4x to 2x, with some bigger xl stuff fitting.9

I took my measurements yesterday afternoon since i hadn't done it in a while, but even though I'm about 8 lbs out from my lowest weight, I still seemed to have no change in measurements. But I had noticed that my pants felt looser and I had felt a little squishy yesterday, so this morning, I decided to take them again when I was fresh. I was down 1" on all measurements! I"m happy to be able to update that tracking metric4

I had to put a rubber band in a knot in the waist of my pajamas because they keep sliding off my hips!...I think I need smaller p.j.s!4

I haven't had one in a while but today I got to work and realized that my jeans were falling off. I am doing a lot of sitting today so that I don't accidently loose them!! They are a 20 so woohoo!5
