Thanks! The only thing I've been consistent with is exercise. Other things are kind of all over the place.1 -
Thursday 4/2
Food: on track
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 20 minutes low intensity bodyweight exercise, 20 minutes medium intensity bodyweight exercise and a 30 minute walk
I kept myself pretty busy today. Went through a lot of papers/etc that needed attention. Made piles for recycle, trash and shred. Got through a lot but have a lot more to go. I'm not very good about taking care of things right away. That's one of the bad things about living alone. I can only blame myself for the mess. Once I get through everything, which will be quite a while, I'm going to have to learn to put things where they belong immediately.
I was supposed to walk with my neighbor today but she texted that she wasn't feeling well so I ended up going alone. It took me over 2 1/2 hours to walk 30 minutes. Yes, I know that sounds strange. I started out and some neighbors were sitting outside with their dog and I ended up visiting (keeping our 6 feet apart)with them for over an hour. Then walked a while and another couple from the complex was out walking in the park area where I was and talked with them for a while, then another couple was out and the 5 of us talked a while. Finally made it back to the complex and saw another neighbor with her dog, walked a little bit and someone else was out with her dog, so I talked with her, walked a little farther and someone else was out, so talked with her. Went a little farther and the neighbor who I was supposed to walk with was out, she said she was feeling better than earlier. By the time I got back to my condo, almost 3 hours had gone by. The weather was really nice here today, I'm sure that's why so many people were out and it was nice to have people to talk with.
I got a text from work to check the work update email. They are asking for more volunteers to work because they aren't keeping up with the demand on orders. Still not sure how what we do is considered essential but apparently some of what we do must be somehow. I'm still not overly comfortable with it. If I decide to do it, I'm supposed to contact my boss. Something to think about.
My church did a livestream communion service tonight so that was nice. If life was normal, it would have been on Sunday with everyone all together in the same building but since we can't meet together they decided to do it online with everyone in their own homes.
Sorry for the long post, guess I just wanted to talk today.5 -
@nstephenson01 - this for you. My virtual sourdough workshop is almost over. My dough has to rise overnight. Will shape in the morning, let it rise again then bake. If I am successful, we will have it with cheese for supper! Here is my starter & the mixed dough from tonight

Just got a text from my boss saying he's going to be calling between 8 and 10 am tomorrow with a short survey about volunteering, where we would be willing to work and on what shift and the reasons for not volunteering. That almost sounds like they're going to make us work. Not going to be thrilled with having to be around a lot of people who may or may not be taking this seriously.4

@annliz23 Welcome and hello to Alfie too. I hope he feels better soon.
@ProfDawnLee Hello and welcome to you also!
A quick intro from me... I'm Kristy, I'm 41, live in New Zealand. Married with 4 kids ages 16, 15 and 11 (twins). A few years back I lost 160ish lbs, started working as a Personal Trainer, but then I injured myself, was diagnosed with chronic pain and an eating disorder, and after maintaining my loss for a few years I gained a bit over half back.
I'm in recovery from everything now, still have some pain issues but I cope. My goal is health not weight. I learned the hard way that lighter isn't necessarily healthier for me. But, I do need to get a lot of this extra weight off!
Right now we're all in lockdown, kids are on early school holidays but will be learning from home again in 10 days or so. I am a Technical Writer working in Payment Compliance for a company that makes Outdoor Payment Terminals (when you pay for gas at the pump) and I'm working from home but the global situation is hairy on every front. Fun times for everyone.4 -
Hey team, my kids want to share a challenge! You can do this at home and challenge yourself, the music is on Spotify "Bring Sally Up - Challenge"
It's pretty simple (😛👻), follow the music and go from plank to push up and back again.
I can't share the video, but here's a few stills of my teens. Because I'm evil, I made them do it with a Bosu Ball - makes it harder. (Throwback to my PT days, this was a favorite in circuits!) Most people just use the ground lol. Remember bum down and don't collapse!

Hello everyone. I am trying to catch up with all the posts but can't comment on everything now. I am spending so much time with phone calls and texts that I don't have a whole lot of spare time. I still have to make my intro. I see we have a few new team members. Welcome!
So an update on Jim. Yesterday I was told they are pretty certain that he is in the recovery phase of this illness. They don't seem to like to say anything for sure because this is all so new. He is finished his course of plaquinil (malaria drug) and is finishing up his antibiotics in the next few days. He is still in critical condition and on a ventilator in the ICU but he has stabilized. We had a very rough weekend that included a tough conversation with my kids and Jim's siblings when things weren't going well. He is doing well on the ventilator now but his chest x ray has a ways to go. Which is expected, his lungs need to heal now. Once they start healing, the chest x ray will improve. I was told this could be over 2 weeks maybe more. I would rather know it will be a while than wake up and hope it is the day he will be extubated. I also am concerned what condition he will be in when this is over. I am going to talk to the nurse case manager to see if I need to do anything ahead of time to be sure he gets into the rehab I want if he needs one. I would think with no elective surgeries, it wouldn't be as hard to get a bed. I also googled to try to see what happens after but that wasn't a smart idea. I am staying off the google! Like I said above this is so new and everyone seems to be different. I don't want to get ahead of myself but I don't want to be unprepared either. I figured talking to the nurse navigator is a good first step.
On to me The girls and I are feeling well. It has been 3 weeks since Jim returned from New York. They think he got it in New York since his symptoms started when New York's surge started. It does make sense if you think about it. I really think the girls or I would have at least started with symptoms now.
People have been so kind and dropping off food and a ton of goodies. I went from the worrying that I couldn't eat (which I never knew I even was capable of that) to my normal stress eating. I did make a plan going forward because I can't keep up eating. I am going to be realistic. I am going to put a treat or two on there but no more grazing on junk. I also need to not over eat these meals. I am going to have a big salad and a little of what ever is brought over. It is usually pasta. I try to decline when people ask but I know people are concerned and this is their way of doing something. I think if I have my normal breakfast and lunch and then do that, I will do ok. I also have to get better with water, I usually don't have a problem. Exercise has been back and forth but I am trying. The days go so fast. I think because of all the texts/calls. I am trying to get into a routine with that too but once again i feel bad because people are concerned.
That is all for now. Maybe next time I check in I will do my introduction. I will try to get on here once in a while to post, not sure when I can catch up with the comments but I am trying to keep up with all of your posts. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. We appreciate them. Hope everyone is hanging in there during this crazy time in our world. xoxo11 -

Good morning everyone,
My virtual sourdough making class last night was awesome! The class was run by a woman who owns a local kitchen supply store. In non-pandemic times, she offers the best cooking classes, taught by her or local chefs. I am only buying essentials right now, but I am so happy to support her small business. There were 50 of us in the class on Zoom! It was funny because we all looked the same: no makeup, no haircuts, roots growing out, wearing athleisure etc. I learnt a lot and it was also excellent for my mental health. My dough rose beautifully overnight. I shaped the loaf this morning and it is rising again. I will post photos a bit later. Fingers crossed!
@srw32 - Fantastic loss! Congratulations!
@lennoncpa - Nice loss! I am allergic to dogs and cats, but I grew up on a small, hobby farm and love animals. Thanks to you posts, I am now constantly looking up hypoallergenic breeds of dogs!
@Fi45 - You are not alone with the snacking and being out of a routine. We are entering into a new week and you can start fresh.
@sleepymom5 - This is very good news about Jim and I keep praying for him. I think it is ok to think a few steps ahead because you need to prepare for those steps. I am happy that you and the girls are feeling well. Your friends and neighbours are so nice bringing the food, but do not feel the need to eat the unhealthy stuff. Take care and just check in when you want to.
@annliz23 - Glad that things are trending positively! Your doggy is so cute!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx - Fantastic idea to get your kids involved in that challenge! How long is that song? I have weak wrists for push ups & always plank on my elbows.
@tryingagain5 - If your work is deemed essential, there may be state or federal laws that can mandate essential workers to be on the job. I really understand your apprehension, but also needing to keep your job. Perhaps it is time to speak to your doctor about the risks and if anything can be done in terms of a doctor’s letter. I really hope it works out ok.
@mrsbell8well - That is a great idea to do some yoga with your team! Yes, I was feeling under the weather this week. No symptoms other than that but have been self-isolating anyway, even in my house. I cannot get tested here because there is a shortage of tests, which are used only for the highest risk people and front line workers. Because we are in a large city, we are all mandated to stay home, which I have been doing for 3 weeks. I started feeling better last night, but now have to wait for the proper amount of time to pass. Even after that, it won’t make a difference as we have to stay home except for essential food shopping etc.
@GingerPwr - Thanks for posting a photo of those weights! How have they been for workouts? I am seriously thinking about getting some. We have a home workout area with free weights, but that space is in high demand with all of us home. So I have been working out in my home office, and need my own free weights. I just don’t want them to take up a lot of space.
@ljdanny - A cute baby is a nice trade off for the home office! Maybe store those Easter goodies in a distant cupboard, high up. That way they are out of sight and it will take some effort to get to them!
