my husband decides he wants to get healthy and I want to support him but I think it may be difficult for me. He downloaded this meal plan and it’s very oldschool and it brings up old memories of when I used to start a “diet” and give up after day 2. It’s one of those “insulin resistant” plans that restrict you to small meals like 1.) Eat one egg and slice of toast with half avocado. I’ve been doing keto off and on for 4 years and I just think my Keto brain may go into calorie deprivation shock or something. I’m going to remain positive though because I’m very proud of him for taking this step on his own and I don’t want to negatively effect him in any way. My plan is to stay positive, take it day by day, and try to share my progress with you all on here.
This weekend for me was all about grocery shopping, meal prepping and then ultimately eating foods we’re going to miss ... like sushi and mixed drinks. So anyway this all explains why my weighin was not that great this week! But I’m gonna bring the heat week 2 . I promise

    @Krysless2
I wish you both success. You have taken a great step with shopping and prepping. Just stick to it. I'm sure you will adjust together with what works. Sometimes experimenting and learning is the best way to start. He needs to go through that process too. You are awesome for supporting him.

Sushi is the best thing ever!

I was walking the golf course trail and I thought my husband was teeing off just around the corner so I started a light jog. Maybe 15 seconds later.... that’s right, SECONDS, I heard and felt a loud pop. Not sure how I am going to handle this...

Lisa! I am so sorry! I wish you a very speedy recovery. Stick with us. Try to focus on the diet aspect. Maintain if you need to - to let yourself repair.

You were the top loser this week. 🏆 Congratulations!

@Krysless2 That meal plan looks really good. Do you get snacks as well? Or is that all you can eat for the day?

That’s all of it B ...I did have a lot of calories left over after factoring in exercise so I’m sure I can layer in some snacks when I get hungry.

🍗🥩🥓 I thought this was super helpful! Thanks,@caligirlgetsfit.⁣
👀👇🏻1 minute read on meat meal prep: ⁣

Lean ground turkey is my go-to meat for meal prep (followed by chicken thighs). It can be used with a ton of meal combinations from broccoli and cheese to mashed potatoes and gravy, rice, and marinara. Not only that, but it's usually the cheapest option! 👍🏼⁣

I typically choose one day a week to cook and prepare all of my meal prep meat for two main reasons:⁣
    1) Nobody wants to handle raw meat on a daily basis. Also, this helps get the mess outta the way. ⁣
    2) There is freedom in not having to think about your meals during the week and this creates a safety net from making poor nutritional decisions. ☑️

    🔥MY MEAL PREP METHOD🔥 ⁣
    • Throw your meat of choice in a slow cooker! ⁣
    • Sprinkle in your favorite seasoning— mine is Lawrys! ⁣
I'll even add some chicken broth for extra flavor (about a cup or so) 🧂⁣
    • Turn it on low, and go to bed! 💤⁣
Boom it is THAT easy. Literally a 10-minute affair.⁣

Once baked, let it cool slightly, then divide three-ounce cuts into multiple airtight containers. Cut up anything you'll use after day four and place in individual freezer bags. Then freeze until it's time to eat. ⁣
*️⃣Note: Remember that it's safest to reheat chicken only once, so warm up only the amount you plan to eat. ⁣

    What's your go-to meat? 🍗⁣
