@jugar a good summary of the week it seems, nicely job team! I know for me personally the scale seems to be on a better trajectory this week - so hoping it stays. I am 0.1 pounds away from the half way point of my original goal to lose 125 lbs, so the next day I see a drop, I'll be there. Also right on the cusp of entering the 220's... I love the feeling of dropping down to a new second digit...
But anyway, the scale is only one (mostly boring) part of this journey, so I digress...
Today had that bittersweet vibe that the last day of vacation often does.. we made it out for another hike to a place called Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park.. only a short distance from the lake but another new to us place.. we have really enjoyed being tourists in our own province.
Well, time to swallow the gulp of pre-work anxiety and wind 'er down for the night. Hope everyone has a good week ahead!5 -
Hi all! Always checking in so late. Maybe I should work on an earlier bed time.
My steps have been good the last few days. Today, I logged everything and was under my calories. Yay! Small victories. Tomorrow I’m determined to get out for a walk.
Have a good night.4 -

I was consistently lower all week, but then I did eat half a thing of popcorn in the cinema yesterday. First time we've been in forever and I really enjoyed the whole experience! The shopping trip today was good; I returned a couple of bits I bought yesterday and found the skirt in my (a smaller) size, so feeling positive about dropping a dress size too.
My sports therapy session went well this morning and I think I'll get what I want from this guy. I have booked the next one - which is actual training - for 6am on Monday. I am going to seriously regret that wakeup call (particularly as we are out on our feet all day Sunday and potentially back late) but I want this badly and I'm willing to do what it takes. Craig (the therapist/trainer) will send me a programme of exercises to do in the mean time and I'm looking forward to getting going with those.3 -
Well y’all…. 163.8 😩😩😩
⬆️ 4.6
I’d say that is screaming reset! I need to move more.
@jugar my step counter quit. I need to get a new one. I’ll jump back in when I get it. I’m 100% positive I moved more than 10 steps the past 3 days! Haha 🤷🏻♀️🧐2 -

Yep, that's the hard reset for sure! You know what to do, and we'll keep your spot until the new step counter gets revved up. You have lost 36 pounds since your highest weight. You know what to do to keep that going! My sports therapy session went well this morning and I think I'll get what I want from this guy. This sounds like it will be hard work but worth it. Get right on that program and you'll be ready to get right to it at 6 am next Monday. And the movie + popcorn sound great. I miss those!3 -
I had a very computer-free Monday until now. I am still in procrastination-attack mode - hitting all those stupid little tasks that have been put off for far too long. It feels great! Now I just need to figure out where to move a whole bunch of bee balm that is crowding out some other stuff that needs protection. And get the window fixed that I messed up the other day - it is time for that one to just get replaced. It keeps falling out. It weighs a ton. It needs to go.
@ashleycarole86
Can't wait to hear about your first day back at work after such a fabulous vacation of hiking and biking. I hope it wasn't too painful - you were far and above the top of the step/exercise group last week! Blue ribbon, gold medal, and hats off!
I'm all proud of my 91 year-old mom today. I called her this morning and there was no answer. She called me back just before noon and said she had been at her "fit sticks" workout - they use long sticks to make the rhythm and workout like crazy - and then she was being interviewed about something. She was upset that she had turned on the wrong burner to make her coffee and had lit a wicker tray on fire, but heck - she hadn't had her coffee yet! That all got taken care of in short order - those strong arms sure can wave a towel at the smoke alarm at the same time as shoving the burning thing into a sink full of water. She sure knows how to pack a lot into one morning!
OK - gotta get some supper together. I'll try not to turn on the wrong burner...7 -
Thank you @jugar ❤️2

Well, as I pulled into the parking lot of the soccer field for today's games (after a great afternoon on the boat in the exhausting sunshine, remaining sober because I had to come play this game tonight) I get a text that my teammate I wanted to see wasn't coming after all. 😔
No fun. I'm exhausted and not looking forward to two hours of running past my old-lady bedtime!
Well, I see other teammates arriving so rant is over, time to go sweat buckets chasing a ball.
I hope I brought enough water!

Hi everyone!
Such a diverse bunch of topics covered in addition to food choices and exercise. Coyote urine, creamees, healthcare, and rants. We can share it all and be better off for it.
It’s hard to believe that it’s still Monday. I got up at 4:30 in order to get out of the house by 5:15 for an MRI of my left shoulder at 6:00 a.m. the early report this afternoon said I have rotator cuff and bicep tears which will probably need surgery for more complete healing for better range of motion and overall use as I age. I’ll learn more tomorrow.
I look forward to reading more soon. Have a great night!3 -

Hey all.. well the first day back to work was okay... it's funny how quickly the zen of a vacation wears off, isn't it?
I did set myself a good intention last night to kick this day off on the right foot, and woke an hour early to walk. Brad has had a doozy of a first day back so he hasn't walked at all yet today - we will go out for a pre-bedtime stroll when he wraps things up. I keep getting myself motivated by these step challenges and other such things, and the weather is beautiful, and it's just plain fun!
Sounds like your mom did have quite the day @jugar .. glad the fire didn't get out of control or anything.
How was the game @PlaneMonkey ? Sucks when you are hoping to see someone and it doesn't pan out.
@DD265 fun news about the smaller clothing size, that must feel really great!!
@EvMakesChanges Were you expecting them to say surgery was likely? hopefully the news tomorrow is as good as can be

@ashleycarole86 the game was fun but we had so many spares this time that I didn't play much so it wasn't as worth the effort I put in to get there as I had hoped. I mildly pulled my right quadriceps too so I think I'm going to bow out of the soccer and just wait until Hockey starts in August2

Tuesday Weigh-In

Not so pretty but honestly, was expecting worse. Last week was tough with work and then I had a wedding on Saturday, and driving 3 hours Friday and 3 hours Sunday to attend said wedding. I really have not truly recommitted to my system since getting off course April 1. I think I was using the busy month at work as an excuse, but I was actually SO productive yesterday, that the rest of this week feels manageable.
That in mind, I will be getting out for a walk before lunch today. Someone else is cooking me dinner so a little less calorie control there but there was mention of roast chicken, so should be pretty healthy honestly.
I am going to set up the new few weeks of tracking in my excel file. I am going to plan my to-do lists for the rest of the days this week in OneNote. I am going to get laundry going (things are getting desperate over here). And I did stay up way late last night meal prepping some chicken cutlets and potatoes for my other dinners this week, which will be delicious.
I am also behind on reading everyone's posts, a habit I know works against me because you are all such good inspiration!
And finally, my fitbit died on Saturday before the upwards of 2 hours of dancing at the wedding, which was a bit of a bummer, but at least I know I burned some of the appetizers off!
Hopefully my worst showing of steps ever:
7/7: 3,002
7/8: 5,928
7/9: 3,059
7/10: 2,900 (+~90 minutes dancing? )
Back on the saddle starting.... NOW!8 -
Hello!
We are having lots of fun at the ocean. I think I will be taking the week off from logging since we are pretty much eating normal. We also are walking about 4 or 5 hours a day looking for rocks on the beach. It has been nice during the day here but cloudy in the evening so no sunsets. Maybe tonight!

@conleywoods
Gorgeous! I love your Sandhenge. It looks like you can get some seriously long beach walks there, and I am sure you'll have a wonderful week - logging can just go walk the plank!
@Kali225
Even with low steps, it sounds like you're doing well. Too bad your fitbit died before all that dancing - I added the 90 minutes of dancing in with your steps for the day, so it's looking really good Hop back on that system of yours, and all the numbers will be looking great!
Let's see if we can pull this week away from the red - keep making good choices, keep moving, and let's get some more green!
Upcoming weigh-ins for Wednesday people:

Evening all!
Today wasn't my best showing at life, but I got through it. In fact, both Brad and I are in a major mental funk due to quite a bit of work stress. We actually work at the same place, but it's a big company so we don't have anything to do with one another work wise. But, it can make it a bit easy to pile on when you feel like complaining about "the company". There is also lots of fun to it too though (on a non-grumpy day )
I set my alarm for my usual hour before work to start my day with my walk, but I was just dragging emotionally and couldn't bring myself to get up. I finally did, but only got out for less than 15 minutes before I had to start work.
Then proceeded to have just a soul sucking day, no real other way to describe it. So, I sat... and then I sat some more, and then lunch break came and I worked through it instead of walking, and well... yes... it just was the type of day where self-care goes out the window.
We had been at the lake and had to come home tonight. As we were driving home and feeling sorry for ourselves, I commented that life is so odd now to deal with since choosing not to use food for comfort anymore. This is the type of day that would normally have sent me right into a lot of excess food.
We got home, decided it couldn't hurt to get out on the bike, and of course when we got back we felt a million times better. Sometimes it's just the getting out there that's hard.
So, I'll take that as two wins - 1) maintaining resolve not to use food to cope, and 2) exercising as a stress reducer.
Tomorrow will be better. I am determined to get myself up on the right side of the bed
Hope everyone enjoyed their day. @conleywoods thanks for the pics.. looks amazing

@jugar Good morning! I got a new stepper my steps for yesterday July 13
13,9834 -
I know it doesn't count but my CW is 192.0. It was much lower yesterday but then we got caught out of the house on errands and I gave in to Hubby's request for mcdonalds. We will be back on track today now that the indulgence has been satisfied.
I went back and looked at my weight loss chart on the app and I've been bouncing around in my 'goal zone' basically since April. I'm pretty happy here and seeing the scale over a pound higher than yesterday didn't stress me at all since I know I'm not hurting the team while I take this break.
If I could learn to maintain this for life I would be satisfied at this size. Sure it would be nice to have a 'thigh gap' and zero muffin top, but I'm loving how clothes fit and how strong I feel.
Its going to be rainy much of this week which will keep the power tools inside so I'm hoping to actually get to do a workout!!
I can't believe that makes me excited. That's the last thing I would have wanted to do with my downtime 2 years ago...
So crazy!

That looks idyllic @conleywoods
I'm not feeling 100% today - my scalp is irritable and my stomach is unsettled. This may lead to me skipping a meal but I'm going to see what lunch does. Maybe I got a little too warm on our run yesterday; we went for an hour and it wasn't the fastest but we tackled a couple of big hills.
Yesterday I noticed that my heart rate was high (it had been climbing over the weekend and my resting heartrate was over 10bpm higher than normal) plus I got a stress warning from my watch. I know from researching running in the heat that heat can increase your heartrate but I didn't think it was that warm over the weekend.. I definitely had more caffeine than normal as it's difficult to get caffeine free soft drinks out and about, and I suppose I had a lot on which would increase my stress levels. In any case it got me to do a meditation with Headspace before bed which is not a bad thing. I think I'll either sit in the garden or go for a walk at lunch time and see if I can bring my energy levels down a peg.
Last night I did the 'daily movements' routine my new trainer wants me to do; these are stretches (at least this week). I have to do those again tonight in addition to foam rolling which I can't say I'm looking forward to! My new - smooth - foam roller has arrived so hopefully that will be less uncomfortable than the ridged one I have.2 -
@DD265 foam rolling certain spots can be excruciating! Good luck. The smooth roller should definitely help2

I spoke too soon. The weather has shifted and I will now be assisting in a deck storage barn-style door build after work instead of weight lifting and Pilates. Maybe Pilates can still happen after dinner. Fingers crossed!2 -
@jugar I am really sorry but can I sit out this week. I have had a tough week and the last thing I want to do is get on the scale. Thank you for understanding.5
