@KellyBgetsfit Oh that's hard! I hope everyone does okay. It's terrible to worry like that and so hard to resist carbs.
@YinxFed looking so good and ready! Love the pants.
Today my husband and I did a double date hike with friends. It was definitely at the edge of my fitness ability but I did pretty good. This is my first expert ranked hike. I have wanted to do this one for awhile because the summit was known to be quite epic. It lived up to the hype and was worth the 8 hour trip and big climbs. I am definitely feeling it! Hot tub for sure tonight! Can you find me on top of the rock in the second picture?

@conleywoods
WOW! Just wow. That is spectacular and you made it! Hot tub for sure. Ahhhhhh. What is the name of the rock/mountain/amazing hiking place?4 -
09/05 exercise:
81 minutes road cycling + 6082 steps
Took our bikes out again and did a road ride from the lake and back.. lots of fun! The weather this long weekend has been fantastic.
@Kali225 you and @YinxFed definitely inspire me with your Epic workouts... I still haven't taken the plunge and tried one yet.
@conleywoods BEAUTIFUL! Looks like an amazing day.3 -

I don't have time to catch up with all the posts but hope everybody had a good weekend.
I have finally started finding this hard. That feeling took longer to kick in than I expected (over 8 months) but it's here now. The problem appears to be having a busy social life which means I stop tracking, combined with stress (work and personal) which doesn't always lead to the best choices. What I am succeeding at is not snacking after 9pm - I joined the no late night snacking challenge. So that's something.
It would be easy to write September off now - we're going on holiday, after all - but I'll see what I can achieve in the next two weeks before then. We have our 20 mile walk on the 18th so it's important that I stay hydrated and give my body good nutrition in the build up, as well as getting plenty of sleep and not overtraining on the running.5 -
Happy Monday, Friends!
Today's a bit topsy turvey for me as I have moved my morning workout to this afternoon. So this morning, we took loads of stuff to our local household recycling centre, then we dropped our car off for its annual MOT and a full service. Then on our way home we stopped at McDonalds for Breakfast Rolls. Very naughty, I know, but I will mitigate the damage with an hour-long Epic workout!
Back to some work before my lunch-time workout!
Enjoy the rest of your day, Team!3 -
@jugar The hike is at Mt. Spokane State Park and the hike and the Rock is called Ragged Ridge. There was one part of the rock where a bunch of rocks formed into a 40 foot long tube or chute. When you look down the chute you see tops of trees. We still had some smoke hanging around which blocked the view a little.2

Happy Monday and Labour Day for those who have this holiday where you live -
I read an inspiring article this morning by historian Heather Cox Richardson about Frances Perkins. I had not realised that she went from being an activist after the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire to working in the NY State government as an investigator into factory safety and working conditions, and then on to a cabinet position in the federal government as Secretary of Labor. Under her leadership, many of the social programs that help the unemployed, protect workers, provide child welfare, and other elements of the social safety net. I knew those programs had developed during that period of time (the 1930s) but not that the leader who worked to make them happen was a woman. How did I miss that? It's a great article if anyone is interested in the details - Heather Cox Richardson Letters from an American. She writes one every day, and sometimes they delve into history in a way that ties things together in a way my long ago classes never did.
Asides aside, I wish everyone a productive and healthy day. Keep logging even if you are partying!5 -

Had to weigh in a day early I hope this is ok?? If not I can weigh in again tomorrow
no problem! You are on a serious roll, too - you were our team 1st place loser last week, and here you go again! Be careful not to go too fast, though - the bounce back can sneak up and get you. If you start feeling hungry all all all the time, take a week at the same weight so that all your systems can catch up with the new reality. Short on-purpose plateaus of a week or two from time to time will save you from crazy bounces, usually. Always good to be prepared in case you start getting the raging hungries!
I’ve honestly been shocked with my lose I haven’t done as much as I want to exercise wise but I’ve been more aware of what I’m eating

@conleywoods VERY impressive and beautiful hike! What a payoff at the top. What a wonderful accomplishment. Despite, perhaps, aching muscles, I bet you felt wonderful reaching that goal.
@YinxFed Ohhhhh, you are so close and so ready for your Bridge Challenge. I remember when you were at about 5K steps a day. You are rocking those daily steps. And those leggings are absolutely wonderful!!! Good luck.
@KellyBgetsfit What a stressful time for you! Saying an extra prayer for you and your family. Hoping, whatever the results are tomorrow, that you are all feeling better very soon. Hugs.
@happimess01 Such great success!! You have done an amazing job and I love the new profile photo too.
@jugar I LOVE Heather Cox Richardson. She sustained me through the last year or so. I have taken a break to save my sanity, but I'll have to check that essay out. Here's to all those who worked so hard to bring us the weekend and labor laws to protect us! Happy Labor Day to those in the US.
@ashleycarole86 Thank you for the compliment. Being a “Mom Mom” is the best!!!
I have been in a funk and stuck in the "gain mode". Not sure why because nothing has really changed. I'm trying. I know I am feeling heavy from this pandemic and people refusing to do their part to control this. My granddaughter cannot go to PreSchool tomorrow because we don't want to put her at risk of getting Covid. I feel a bit like a prisoner in my own home. I know it's a choice we have made, but I wonder if we are too cautious? ugh, just feeling the weight of all that is going on in the world today. I have been reading posts, but couldn't even muster up a post until now.
I managed my pilates and then some this morning. Beach Barre Pilates. It was challenging and my legs were shaking. Then I talked on the phone with my niece for 3HOURS!!!! She's trying to lose weight too for health reasons. After I got off, I hula hooped for 15 minutes and really worked up a sweat! Not sure what I did different today, but actually had it going for a little longer. Then, I danced to Rock Lobster by the B52s. So despite my overly long phone call, I got in a little activity.
Now, it's off to my daughters for dinner. Hope you are all well. Michele5 -
@micki48
You win the wild rock'n'roll workout of the day award! Beach Barre (Boys?) Pilates, hula hoop, Rock Lobster - you hit all the coasts and probably had a blast. I substituted a different one for the beach barre thing today - I am not fond of that one. I went back to my fave "fun pilates" one with the lunge-flamingo-airplane-lunge series and all the silly rolling exercises, including the one where you clap your feet like the flippers of a seal. So you were rockin' and I was rolling! What a pair. I hope it keeps you out of the pandemic doldrums for at least a little while. Fall walking weather must be on the way, right? Hugs to you.
Quick catch-up -
still due today:
@lovethyneighbor
@TessieMac833
heads up for Tuesday:
@Kali225
@nat_meister
Off to bike my way through an episode of something fun. I haven't been on the exercise bike for a while, but the weather is all coooool again!4 -
Just started the next 30 day yoga series on my list in the Yoga by Adriene videos. Looking forward to seeing what progress I make with this next set.
Got a nice walk in too.. just a nice quiet day off. Beautiful weather here on this fine Labor Day! Who is wearing white tomorrow? Hahaha5 -
@micki48 What a fun day you had with all of your workouts! Love all the fun stuff you picked. I hear you on the no preschool covid stuff. No fun. If you guys get really bored, I found a great website called outschool they have all kids of fun zoom classes for kids. They have little camps, art, preschool etc. I did one for my daughter and was really impressed with how they run stuff.
@jugar Sounds like you had a great silly workout today too.
@ashleycarole86 Great job with the yoga. Yoga is not my thing so I am always impressed with people who do it consistently. I will not be putting my white jeans away just yet...I'm a rule breaker.
My little guy is sick and has a covid test tomorrow 😫 Seriously! He went to 2 days of school and hasn't been anywhere else. I'm just disgusted. Our state has an indoor mask mandate and my husband found out from a coworker that the new PE teacher told the kids to take their masks off. My husband has definitely been a little sad to not be home with the kids like last year. So he is ready to pull the little guy and quit his job. I am tired of the covid roller coaster but here we go again 😪 Hopefully we can sit down with the district's superintendent soon and figure this out.6 -
@conleywoods Hope his test comes back negative.. sounds so stressful what all you parents and grandparents are going through right now in terms of worries for the little ones... tough times
Exercise 09/06 - 8286 steps and 30 mins yoga
Night all! Tomorrow would have been the return to office date had it not been postponed... can't say I'm all that disappointed (minus the obvious fact that it means the world is still in shambles and so many people are having a rough time for a variety of reasons)... my wake up call would be MUCH earlier if I was commuting in.4 -

Together, the 5 of us walked 392,051 steps.
This equates to 186 miles or roughly the distance of York to Edinburgh.
That would have been some nice countryside to traverse!
We have all set a baseline for September… let’s see what we can do for the rest of the month. I will be looking for things to celebrate as we move through the month.
Keep up the great work everyone!3 -
Tuesday Weigh-In
PW: 210.6
CW: 210.8
That's pretty frustrating. I added in evening walks the last 2-3 days so I guess I was really hoping to overcome my bad eating days on Wed/Thurs - but like they say, you really can't out-exercise poor food choices. Alas. Onto next week!
@jugar your Willy Wonka meme made me laugh. Today's Epic workout is ENTIRELY bulgarian squats for 49 min! If you all never hear from me again, the chair did me in.
@conleywoods awesome pics!! what an accomplishment.
@happimess01 you inspired me to try to find my vain side this weekend - I still don't excel at selfies but it is incredible when you get into a mood where you look at a mirror and think, "hey. looking good. " hahaha4 -
My youngest tested negative for covid! So relieved but emotionally drained.8
-
@conleywoods I'm so relieved for you!
This week has already been stressful and I didn't even work yesterday 😖. My work contract got extended to the end of October but I also start evening classes for my master's (online) and it's been an ordeal to get that bureaucratic BS sorted out. So I'm worried about keeping those balls in the air, plus maintaining my gym routine (which is necessary for both my physical and mental health).
Anyways, I'm not anticipating the greatest weigh-in this week.3
