I'm okay with a small loss as we had a fun vacation and I "may" have had some rough days. 😉 Back on the horse starting... Now!6 -
@DD265
You're starting to get me to stop procrastinating about de-cluttering! I'm pretty good about clothes and general stuff, but the "haven't used in ages" category is hovering politely in the background waiting for attention. I need to make a plan and put it in my agenda so I get annoying reminders from my phone every day until it's done!
It is fun trying on things as you change size and shape, though. When I first hit my goal weight 9 years ago, my big reward was a kind of style consultation that a local clothing designer (and fun person) was offering. Her shop is a delight, but I had never dared go into a place like that before. The consultation was scary at first, but turned out to be a blast. They took my measurements, then had me go around the shop to pick out 5 things I liked and 5 things I would not wear if you paid me. They did the same. 5 things they thought would look great on me, and 5 I would be better off avoiding. It was so interesting - especially when it came to colours. They got me out of the hide-in-the-shadows colours and away from things that too well matched my grey hair. Then they talked necklines, and belts (yikes!) and other scary stuff. I left the place with a lighter wallet, but with some really cool clothes that I performed in for years, and that I still wear. I am just about to give away one skirt that is now too loose and drags on the ground, and one sundress that I don't wear anymore, but the whole experience made a difference in how I see myself. And I think I have about 15 belts now
@eggfreak
I'm going with the new scale number. It will keep you on the straight and narrow this week!
@KellyBgetsfit
Don't forget that working out more builds muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. As you build muscle, you retain water for a bit too - it will pass! The MOST cool thing about muscle is that it helps you burn more calories even when you're not exercising. Keep up the good work!
@kellie_erin
Hang in there! Long days of isolation are no fun at all.
I'm heading out for a long day of raking the earth that got moved around yesterday and planting some grasses in hopes that they'll germinate before the weather turns too cold. Have a good one!4 -
@MoStacy Sorry to hear about the knee injury, and loss of in person support. Really agree with everyone else's comments - we can help support you however you need. You will find your way!3
-
@DD265 You have an organized structure to tackling things in your life and it is super inspiring for sure! I don't tend to have a plan and then I get overwhelmed because there are a ton of things I "should" do that I don't.3
-
@eggfreak Glad for the pleasant surprise on the scale after your vacation - congrats!
@KellyBgetsfit Sorry for the disappointment you're feeling - it's not a great feeling to put in the hard work and not get the result you expected, but confident if you continue to stay the course you'll get there!
@kellie_erin Hope the test result comes back soon... and that this bout of illness fell at such a crappy time that should have been full of celebrating. Take care
Yesterday's exercise was:
13623 steps + 20 minutes Peloton
Last week of vacation today - off to enjoy it!4 -

I love a list and a plan; not being able to plan for something (like when we didn't know if my husband would be joining the police) is a nightmare for me.
I'm a lot more flexible about adjusting the plan than I used to be though. I remember once, and I was in the midst of depression at the time, having an anxiety attack because we arrived at the launderette 10 minutes later than I'd intended - I don't think there were any real consequences, but I desperately needed the sense of control. These days I'm generally pretty well grounded, so moving a task from today into next week isn't a big deal. Occasionally I even delete the list and start over lol.
There are definitely many things that I 'should' do, which aren't getting done, but ultimately there's only so much I can do. This is why I try to chip away at it with a bit every day, and particularly with decluttering, the less you have the less time you have to spend maintaining it. I follow a decluttering group on Reddit and they say that every object you have, has a demand on your time. The book says 'read me', the DVD says 'watch me', the ornament says 'clean me' and the clothes say 'wear me'. You can't do it all at once, so then comes the guilt because you're not wearing the clothes whilst cleaning the ornament, reading the book with the DVD on in the background. That really made sense to me and whilst I'll never be minimalist, I'm definitely happy to have less stuff than we do now.6 -

I am struggling… lost my support system, knee injury… I am sorry that I haven’t been a strong team member. Trying to shake, shake, shake it off.
Sending big virtual hugs and support. Like everyone else has said, no apologies! We have all been there. We all struggle. This is not easy, but we believe you can do this. Listen to your body. Give yourself grace with your injury and keep checking in here for support. We can’t actually take bad food from your hands, but we can offer support, motivation, and inspiration. We believe in you!!
@KellyBgetsfit I know it is sooooo frustrating when you have had a good week and the scale doesn’t show it. Just remember, you are MUCH more than that number on the scale. You’ve got this. You are right too! That hard work will eventually show up on the scale.
@ashleycarole86 Congratulations on yet another great loss! And coming off that long vacation. Look what you've done! You are sooo close to Onederland. Knowing you, I give it 3 weeks max!! Cute pup too!
@kellie_erin Hope you get that negative result soon.
@eggfreak Good for you. I probably would have totally gone with that new scale. Hope this week back is good for you.
No walk yet today for me, but did 27 minutes of Pilates this am. Just doing house stuff today. Kids for dinner. Grilling.

Great news! Now you can get back to life again. No partying with chocolate cake, now...
I had the ultimate upper body and back workout today - hours of using the iron rake on the very dense and thick clay/earth getting it ready to plant some grass seed. Pulling out rocks and trucking them by wheelbarrow over to a low, wet place in one of our trails. Yanking out old roots. Removing the blobs of dug-up sod. Fun! Then the seed got planted on all but 2 edges I had not finished smoothing out yet. One of four areas (almost) done. Three to go It's kind of last minute for planting grasses, but the weather is still so mild it might even work. I guess this is my next few days, too - gotta get 'er done. It sure ups the step count! Watch out, team!!5 -

Happy Thursday!
I made it through my week. I didn't meal prep this week and it definitely had a negative impact on food this week. I just got a delivery of meal kits for the weekend and I will go to Costco in the morning. My workouts have been great. The new plan has worked well with the frequent interruptions. I finally switched my dumbells to a new set of adjustable dumbbells. They are really nice and have helped speed up my workout time. A co-worker commented that I was looking good today. That was nice to hear since the scale doesn't move much lately. @KellyBgetsfit those darn scales can really mess with us. I still think back to your pictures you posted awhile ago where you really had a totally different body without a big drop on the scale.
We have all of the sweater weather here in the Pacific Northwest! It was just a wee bit above freezing this morning and we even saw snowflakes yesterday. I wore a sweater today and cranked up the heater in the car. Thought of all of you dreaming of sweaters!6 -
Yes @conleywoods us too.. we were out hiking in toques today and there was snow in the mountains... far cry from what @micki48 and @Kali225 were talking about earlier this week eh
@jugar Love all the exercise and calories being torched via good ol' fashioned hard work (like @PlaneMonkey 's whole summer...)
Well, this epic vacation is a wrap! We finished off by hiking Sulphur Mountain today - I seriously am so proud of Brad. For a guy who couldn't hardly walk the half block from our parking garage to the office before his surgery, I sometimes have to pinch myself.
Who goes back to work on a Friday anyway?? LOL - tomorrow is just a taster I guess
Exercise for today:
21615 steps6 -
Thanks @micki48 ... appreciate that.
I have another weight milestone I am excited about in the upcoming weeks - when I hit 202.8 my weight for my height officially drops from the obese BMI category to overweight... my doc (who I haven't seen in a year) is going to be shocked when he sees me! Of course he always gives the usual rundown of me needing to lose weight and over the years I've yet to be able to deliver on that... looking forward to that moment eventually.
Kinda fun to have that to look forward to, and then Onederland.... both so close I can almost taste it!
I am already so happy, I know additional loss will be good for my health but I'm so appreciative of all the good that's come from the pounds lost so far.

This is a great milestone. My BMI is finally in a healthy weight range — Yeaa to looking normal(as per BMI)! I wear medium in most brands and just confidently ordered a size small sweatshirt last week. As a 6 ft guy, I never thought that day would come. Diet wise, I am on a 20% deficit currently and it's a struggle. It's always funny to me that I maintained a 40% deficit for almost an year but can"t keep it together now when I eat more. I need to relax and just enjoy food this weekend or I will definitely pig out some day next week. I stress drink diet coke these days when work gets overwhelming and need to work on breaking this habit. But don't see that happening anytime soon. On the brighter side, my sleep schedule is coming along now. Getting 6-8 hours consistently because of which I have made it to the gym thrice this week already.10 -

I'm happy to see my scale moving but honestly I'm focusing less on everything and just telling myself that I know how to be fit and to make better decisions. More of that to come...
I've been quiet for awhile but its great to read everyone's posts @kali225 I liked your post about meal prepping! I would like to do more of that for my lunches. @happimess01 and @ashleycarole86 your posts are inspiring!
My kids and I are traveling to Paris this weekend and will plan to have lots of exercise and fun! Okay and maybe a croissant too...7 -

Wow - just wow!!!
Congrats on the normal BMI, the medium clothes, and just continuing to Inspiring us all!6 -
@Steph1498 Congrats on the loss and the great mindset. Have a fantastic time in Paris!4

Today started off poorly, but I chose to use it to my advantage.
Woke up at 2:30 in the morning and tossed and turned until 4. Finally decided sleep was futile and got up.
I've had my Peloton ride, my yoga is done, and I'm having a soak of my sore muscles before shower and breakfast.
Once the workday starts, at least I've got something to show for myself.
I don't suffer from inability to fall back asleep often so I feel for those that do - it's terrible!
Happy Friday all. Let's get it!!!5 -
