Steps Goal (6,800) Update:
[snip]
@jessicakrall8 -- Steps update *Tried to update the excel log to make it easier for ya, but it looks like I don't have access to edit. Also, didn't realize it had been that long since I updated steps (oops)
Got you updated @Yukie_OP and thanks for reporting in...I'd left several messages in the chatroom, but I guess you didn't see those. No telling what good info you're missing out on!!
Only the Captain's can update the spreadsheet...no worries, just try to report your steps in every 2-3 days if you can. I understand we're all busy...hope you have a great upcoming weekend!

It was interesting to follow the yogurt conversation. I like most yogurt, but Greek yogurt is my favorite, and I often have it as an afternoon snack. I put about 2 ounces over fruit - usually banana & strawberries, raspberries, or mixed berries - and add a few walnuts on top for extra protein. I wish I ate cottage cheese. I’ll have to try the suggestions from @izzyred9400 above. I hear it’s a great source of protein but I remember not liking it as a teenager and haven’t really tried it since then. Thanks for the tips!
@LaurieWrobo - It’s so difficult to see our loved ones suffer. I’m sure it’s a comfort to your husband to have you there through his treatment. A friend of mine always enjoys a special lunch with another friend of ours who lives nearby just before chemo so it’s something they look forward to before the difficult recovery period. I hope there is a support group that provides your family with tips on how to prepare for symptoms like the cold hands. I row with a cancer survivors group and they are a wealth of information for one another.
Thinking of you, and wishing all the Shape Shifters well.5 -

This past week was a mess. My 15 year old has been really pushing his boundaries, and getting in trouble, so it has just been crazy and my diet has slipped. That being said, I am back on track, I ate my feelings, now im getting back on my routine, exercising, and watching my food8 -

I broke my no alcohol pledge for a visit from a friend who likes to check out new breweries.
I go back to the office officially next week, after working from home for nearly the last two years. My office is adopting a hybrid schedule, so I only need to be in Tues-Thurs. I've been waking up earlier in the mornings to hopefully adopt quicker to this change and still be able to get a workout in.5 -

After bouncing back and forth and coming to a stall, I decided to take a ten day maintenance break. After nine months, I was just a little tired and going over my calorie limit more often. I'm on day four and not so stressed about every detail. I changed my settings from losing 2 pounds a week (which I wasn't doing anyway) to .5 pounds a week loss, which upped my calories from 1200 to 1590. It's crazy that 390 calories can make such a difference. I'm so much more relaxed, even thought I'm still measuring and weighing my food. I'm eating back half my exercise calories as well. And...I'm down .8 pounds. This is a new low for me.
I did a maintenance break last October and it was so helpful and really jump started my body into losing mode again. I'm 35.2 pounds away from my goal weight and almost 70 pounds down. Just looking at those numbers, I'm almost 66% of the way there! I have a big trip planned in May and I'm hoping to be down another 10 pounds by then.
Taking a maintenance break is a wise thing to do. If you aren't already aware, you might read a little about metabolic adaptation/adaptive thermogenesis. I learned of this a while back. It's not particularly good news, but it explains why we stall out after weeks of successfully losing weight. It's not clear how long it takes for our bodies to get back out of adaptive thermogenesis, but a few weeks can't hurt.
As I said, while not good news, as it means we must be patient and be in it for the long haul, it can still help us avoid feeling defeated at our lack of progress.

To add to the yogurt discussion, I’m not a fan. I think it’s a texture issue. But I use Greek yogurt sweetened with stevia in a Hungry Girl yogurt bowl recipe that is really good. The texture is not an issue because it’s mixed up with a bunch of different stuff.4 -

Thank you @frankwbrown I'm not surprised. It seems like just when I'd get into the routine, the weight loss would come to a stop. That's about the point I'd always quit.4

Hey Y'all and happy Caturday!! My Hazel says that's the BEST day of the week!! A day to slack off a bit, work to your own schedule, don't set the alarm, get your stuff done at your own pace.
Today I was a bit tired this morning, so I slept in and did my exercise after lunch. It was a very hectic and stressful week for me at work...So far, I've cleaned the kitchen, the bathroom and gotten two loads of laundry done...just finished a 1.25 mi walk...feeling much better now. Got the two large pine trees cut down from my backyard. Didn't like writing out that check, but I'm glad I had it saved up and that it's done. One of the trees was leaning as whomever planted them years before I bought the house, planted them too close together and the roots were crowding and choking each other out. Won't have to worry anymore when storms come through!
I'm headed out to get some groceries and run a few errands. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your weekend. The new Week 3 Group Challenge will be posted later this evening and it will start tomorrow.

@izzyred9400 PLEASE keep us posted...like you said, you're vaxxed and boosted, so I hope it's nothing more than a nuisance!!! Hope you feel better soon!! Praying and sending the best healing vibes your way!!!
@CasandraW I put in a request to excuse you from next week's weigh in...have a good time in Edmonton...I've been there and it's nice! Hope you have decent weather for the trip!!
You guys are simply amazing...lots of losses this week and even the gains are just smidgens and won't amount to a hill of beans! It's obvious everyone is working hard!! WTG! Even my steppers are walking their butts off this week...including myself!! YAY! Each of you take a minute and pat yourself on the back!!! YOU DESERVE IT!!!!
HEY...just posted the link for the new Group Challenge and it's all about self-care...come join us starting tomorrow...would love to see more of you pop in and share your thoughts...what you might think of as "non-important" might JUST BE what someone else needs to see!!! And you'll really like it if you're a BINGO fan...just to make it interesting...should be fun!
Watched Jennifer Lopez's new movie "Marry Me" today...it was really cute...anyone else seen it?! I love Rom Coms. Not a big fan of Owen Wilson, but enjoyed his role as well. Nice to see John Bradley outside of game of thrones...his role was nice too as her Manager. Off to hang up some clothes!
