Good morning Shape Shifters. Yesterday was still a bad weather day. Super windy, some hail, lots of rain, tiny bit of sun. It was giving me whiplash. I did some laundry and ate too much. I was feeling uncomfortably full in the evening, but I did not want to make the bad day even worse by skipping my workout. I found a new YTchannel a while back called Improved Health. She does walk at home, full body workouts, and dances. It is a bit similar to Dance with Deepti I am already familiar with, but it seemed a bit easier to follow. So I decided to give one a try since I wasn't feeling good. I really enjoyed the workout, as much as I can enjoy one since I hate sweating. But the structure of the workout was really nice, there are timers for each steps, there is an overall progress bar for the whole workout and there was a nice variety of movements. Compared to DwD, the steps were a little more chill, but I still got my heartrate up. I also didn't need to modify anything which felt good. Hello all!
I had a great half-marathon with my daughter! It ended up being very warm and humid conditions for a race, but we stuck together and held hands as we crossed the finish!
My daughter was hoping for a 2:15 finish and we finished in 2:21, but it was still 9 minutes faster than her last one. I felt great the whole time and was able to encourage her at the end when she wanted to walk. My heart rate averaged 150, never above 159, so it felt easy. This is significantly less than my past two marathons, so it was a real confidence booster.
My right heel is hurting today, but otherwise feel good. I'm not sure if its from striking my foot differently because I rolled my ankle last week, or if its the beginnings of plantar fasciitis, which I've had before. I'll stick to biking and use a sleep splint for a few days and hope it resolves.
I travel back to Colorado tomorrow, and then to Bloomington on Friday to visit my son. We will be in Ft. Collins at the university for advice on Buddy's latest tumor after that so I have quite a bit of travel still to go this month. Will do my best to stay on track!5 -

Good morning Shape Shifters. Yesterday I wrote 4 postcards for postcrossing; two to Germany, one to Japan and one to Russia. I took the bike again to the mailbox because it was raining. On the way home I got a new toothpaste for Tinus at the vet and made an appointment with the groomer for next week. I was feeling a little depressed, hopefully today is better. Good morning everyone!
Heading back to Colorado today. At the airport now and so far everything is going smoothly. Thursday we head out to Bloomington to visit our son after dropping off the dogs with our daughter. We will meet with the vets on Wednesday to decide if we are going to proceed with Buddy’s surgery. So I’ll be away from home at least until next Thursday. It’s not the easiest for sticking to calories, but honestly I’m feeling pretty motivated after my race this weekend that I’m hoping I’ll stay pretty close.3 -

This past week has been a very hard week for me emotionally. We had 3 funerals to go to over the weekend, and on Sunday my nieces fiancé was tragically killed in a car accident . I'm honestly just numb now, and have not been tracking food, or going for walks. I have to learn from this week and keep moving forward, enjoy life as much as possible, because it is so precious and we never know how long we get with our loved ones.7 -
