Hi all, still in NC. Step mother passed away at home on Friday early morning. It's going to be tough for my dad as he is now a widow for the second time. Saw my mom in rehab facility and while she isn't walking or standing yet, her mind is clear and is doing better than I thought.
Wasn't able to weigh in before I left but I'll be home before the next weigh in. And I've been eating like complete crap to be honest.

I use the Renpho smart scale. Best scale I’ve had. I love how it stores all my weigh in data.

@lindamtuck2018 ,
Water 💦 , definitely didn’t get much in . As far as goals, I did my best to reach 5 or so miles of walking daily. However , I then proceeded to binge eat bread, pita chips etc that family members have purchased. They know to hide the carbs from me ( unfortunately they didn’t hide them well 🙂. )
My issue is portion size and making the decision to stop when I’m full.
Community: Suggestions for alternative activities for re wiring the brain to not binge eat over the kitchen sink, while zoning out lol ? Thanks,
Lauren

I ordered my scale yesterday. I ended up getting the 1byone. It is the same as I have just a different colour. I have a telephone appointment soon so I am doing mini walks and I am pulling out my dumbbells.
Happy Monday!
@rwillems
Congrats on the loss! Biking in January is crazy. We have snow on the ground.

I think distracting yourself is key. You are probably aware I have binge eating disorder and did therapy. One thing they had me do is make a list of 20 things I can do instead of binge eating. I put it on my fridge. Maybe you can do this and post it by the sink. Is it boredom that leads you to mindfulness eating?

Lets share some NSV’s

I'm so far along in my journey that literally everyday has a NSV. Whether it's a new shirt that I can't believe I fit into, more energy, no more muscle spasms or pain, increasing my running speed/time on the treadmill, lifting heavier weights etc...
It's pretty great4 -

I guess my struggles have been wishing I could eat what I want instead of choosing a healthy alternative...we as a family have been working through the bad stuff in our cabinet... yesterday we had spaghetti...I cut my portions way down...we will see Wednesday 🙂
I purchased a vibrating plate... because I was unable to walk on the treadmill even at the lowest settings I have done some research and chose this. I purchased the one with handles and have used it twice a day for the last two days. I'm loving it!!! 10 minutes twice a day. I'm hoping to build up some muscle and help with my walking. I will keep you updated on my progress!4 -

Non scales victory .....
When I was flying I was really close to having to get a seat belt extender. Flew to the UK yesterday ...
Had another when I got here .... my mother is tiny, she's bought a new coat .... I asked to try it on .... won't fit you she said .... well guess what? It fitted just fine. Funny how she still thinks of me as much bigger than her!
