My morning is going great so far. Woke up early, drank my lemon water, hopped on the treadmill and walked while I read my study material 💪 and had a hearty healthy breakfast.

Hello all!
I'm going to have to go on the support team for the indefinite future. Still holding close to my goal weight but just overwhelmed with everything going on "IRL" and have to start limiting my commitments to save my personal sanity. With the wedding, some family illnesses, etc etc, I've just a lot on my plate right now!10 -
@SavageMrsMoose -- I did support team and just hung in and read the posts (when I could - sometimes there are a lot!) I love this group and the people and enjoy your posts so hope you'll be around.3

Thursday ~ March 07
Good morning Shape Shifters. It was a very nice and frosty morning here. I biked to the start of a walk again to check on the conditions of the trails. I have no idea why, but this area is still crazy wet. I could easily get around several flooded areas, but around 25 minutes away from my bike was a huge section completely under water. I could either slog through mud or take the bike path through clearer (ankle deep) water. With mud comes the risk of slipping or getting a shoe sucked off, so I decided to just wade through the water. It was cooold! I wouldn't have done it if this was at the beginning of the walk, but since I was near the end I figured it would be fine. I want to do this walk with my mom as well, so I need to figure out a slightly different route for the last bit. Besides the wet feet, I had a really nice walk with my camera. There were lots of birds and the sun also showed up. I had a bad headache when I got up in the morning, but the walk made it all better.
I did some more cleaning in the afternoon. My bathroom ceiling had black mold on it because it is made from porous board and there is no proper ventilation. I got a spray to treat it with a while back. The bottle said they do not recommend use on ceilings, and I totally get why. I wore gloves, a wide brimmed hat and my usual glasses and I still got burning eyes. It was such a nasty chemical spray and the smell clung to my clothes so I had to change everything for the second time that day. The spray did work, but I am not sure if it will last. It looks better at least.
Once the bathroom was clean, I washed my clothes and the bedsheets of the guestbed. The bed rarely gets used, but Tinus likes to sleep on it so I wanted to get fresh sheets on for my mom. I was pretty tired by this point, but I still had to get in my gym rings workout as well. It went pretty good. In the evening I put away all the laundry and went through the last box of clothes which had more stuff than I expected. Just from that box I decided to do away with 6 dresses, 4 pants and 9 tops/blouses/sweaters. These things are all in pretty good condition because I rarely or never wore them, so I will look for a place to donate the clothes. I got a lot done, but the day was too busy for me.walk, good sleep & food, gym rings workout, more cleaning & declutteringHappy Friday everyone

I was 187 yesterday with clothes on, so it's definetly temporary. I have been working out most days, still working on my eating habits3 -
@pupowl, beautiful photos as always. Looks like you caught that one bird midflight!
******
I've been struggling lately with my diet, as well as losing a little enthusiasm for my exercise. I'm committing to some more disciplined eating/exercising. But since it's Friday, the day I've traditionally given myself a reward for achieving my goal, I decided to kick off my new commitment with this reward:
I made a Dutch baby pancake this morning. I had not heard of such a thing until I came across the name in another thread months ago. I thought it was a rather peculiar name. I did some research and learned (taking the internet at it's word here!) that the name was coined by an American restauranteur who was making a baby version of a German (i.e. Deutsch) pancake. So it really should be called a baby Deutsch pancake, not a Dutch baby pancake!
Anyway, I've made one maybe a dozen times now, and they're quite good. But this morning, I whipped the egg whites separately, and the result was fantastic!
It's fairly simple to make: 2 eggs, ¼ cup milk, ¼ cup flour (I used a bit less). I added some cinnamon and vanilla to mine. Put a large dab of butter in a small iron pan, preheat the pan in a 425℉ oven, then add the batter. Bake for ~15 minutes. I topped mine with some crushed blueberries mixed with some pomegranate jelly my niece gave me for Christmas. It was the best one I've had yet!
Now, time to report my weight today (bad news!), and then aim to do better by next Friday (or no reward!).

I had a good week of exercise, getting in two weight workouts, two hockey sessions and a lot of walking. I also feel that I did fairly well eating and got back to three full days of nutrition tracking...better than none!
I'm still getting my new Garmin set up but so far am loving the detailed exercise tracking. For the first time in a long time I was able to see what my max heart rate and effort was looking like during hockey, which was very cool. It doesn't seem as generous with steps as the Fitbit was. For example, it doesn't record steps on the indoor bike. I also love that it is way more detailed for my indoor rowing workouts! And the battery is lasting way longer. So far so good! I am set up with an account but haven't looked into how to find and connect with people.2 -
@frankwbrown Thank you! I thought it was funny that it looked like a levitating bird. Did you see the 75 hard/medium/soft challenge that is currently going for all groups? Maybe hopping onto that will also help you refocus a bit. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10910763/75-hard-medium-easy-challenge-march-3-may-17/p14

@jessicakrall8 - Hello Jessica! Happy to be back -thanks for the welcoming. I had mentioned before when I had dropped off the group over a year ago that I was doing a lot of work-related studying on top of long work hours+ some life transitions happening (moved my family)... Today, I'm in a much better place (a little less overwhelmed) and feel like i can start to focus on myself again.
-- I was in Minneapolis last July (my work flew me out for a conference), and you actually came to mind as you've mentioned, in the past, that your home-place is known as MinneSNOWta -- luckily it was absolutely gorgeous when i visited - perfect weather.3 -
@frankbrown -- That's how they make pancakes in Japan too! They call them souffle pancakes I think. But they're light and fluffy and kinda jiggle and are really cool.
I went for a bike ride today and it was really nice. Not many people out. A few kids trying to learn to ride bikes on the trail and a dog or two is all. The elk bulls were near the road showing off -- I really believe they know. They know everyone is going to stop and go, "oooh awwww" and take their photo. They seem to situate themselves for photos in the park. ;-P The ego on them bachelors must be immense. Good day today!6 -

My brother and sister-in-law have been to Japan several times, each time spending several weeks teaching "conversational English". They have a lot of stories of those trips. I don't know if they encountered these souffle pancakes at the time, but I'd like to surprise them with some for brunch one day. So now, I'm already looking at recipes for Japanese souffle pancakes, which I'll try out next Friday (if and only if I manage to lose some weight this week).

Friday ~ March 08
Good morning Shape Shifters. Another chilly morning here which was great for my walk. I decided to do the same walk as Thursday when I got wet feet and figure out the alternative route. The other trail was a little longer and much more fun so I plan to keep taking that route in the future as well. I stumbled upon a small group of roedeer which was cool. Lots of bird song, but most of them didn't feel like showing themselves this time.
I looked online to see where I could donate my clothes and I found a place in town. They run a small 'store' for low income people or people who have a lot of debt so they can shop for free. I thought that was nicer than just dumping it at the thrift store so I dropped off the clothes and an unused pair of sandals in the afternoon. I was a bit slow to get started, but I managed to get all the cleaning done I had planned for the day. Vacuumed everywhere, mopped, did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. Busy busy.walk, good sleep & food, more cleaning & donated clothesHappy Saturday everyone

The daily card:Accepting yourself is crucial to finding peace with all aspects of your personality. Remember that every human being in this world is different, and no two faces, bodies or minds are the same. Make a list of all of the diverse aspects that you appreciate about the people in your life, then do the same for yourself. Some examples might relate to passions, beliefs, talents or personalities. These variables are what make human beings, including yourself, interesting and unique.3

Good morning team:
I feel like I need to be honest with y'all...This week was intense and difficult for me, on top of a few weeks in that same vein...stress hits me hard and makes me feel exhausted at the end of the day...a couple of nights, I came home and went straight to bed. I've made strides in eating fruits and veggies, but my food choices overall have not been good. I'm struggling in so many areas, it's hard to count them all. I'm trying to keep my head out of the "shame zone", but I am having those thoughts...sorry I wasn't more available this week.
I'm spending today reflecting on where I was, compared to where I am...and trying to get my head on straight. I feel like I'm being a bad example for the team...I am trying, but this fight is constant and sometimes I'm so tired of fighting, but the alternative is getting back up to 400 pounds where I was years ago and feeling like life wasn't worth living. My only consistency has been my walking...so that's a positive. It helps me feel centered.
If any of you feels like I'm letting you down...I am sorry. Trust me when I say, I'm letting myself down the most. I care about this team and don't want to be a negative...
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Jessica8 -
Hi @jessicakrall8 you are not letting anyone down at all.Youre just having a bad time at the moment. We all have times when the stress builds up & things that we usually had control over have taken a back seat. You do so much for the team & support all of us.Just be kind to yourself & don't beat yourself up.It is a struggle to maintain healthy habits & I know you don't want to go back to that place again.Just take some time for YOU,don't worry about what you've done.Tomorrow is another day, make a list of small steps you can do now & just do one step at a time.
Take care my friend 🧡4 -

I have no idea how that happened. All I can think is that I’m retaining water from strenuous workouts this week.4
