Good to hear you seem to be improving now Marilyn, but so sorry you have been so sick! 😕 Yes, rest and recover. Surgery isn't too far away. 🙏

Linda, that wind sounded incredible! Almost cyclonic! Glad you are OK. The play sounds wonderful. 👌 Thank you for the recipe. I will be looking 👁

Judith, glad you enjoyed the photos. Yes, these sinkholes were formed by steam blasts and are inactive now. They are quite different from your scary sinkholes. This area was formed by volcanic activity. They are totally quiet these days, but you never know when that could change. There are monitors around here for seismic activity but it, too, is rare.

We're moving within the hour. Better go finish breakfast and packing up. May get to come back later for all the games.

    Hi friends.

We're parked at Macdonnell, the southernmost point of South Australia, and are having problems connecting to the Internet via Starlink due to obstructions (trees mainly). Will work on finding a better place for the dish and maybe come back here layer.

We got a late start this morning over the mountain because we wanted to see the eclipse before we started driving. It was not a total eclipse - only about 80% but it was interesting to watch it get darker in the middle of the day. Traffic was good with the usual construction areas that were a little slower with the lanes closed. There was no rain or snow so our couch got here without getting any moisture or splash back. We had it wrapped up like a mummy with tarps and bungie cords so it there had been any rain, it probably would have been OK. We now need to find some strong college students to get it off the truck and into our living room.

Susan - I am sorry you are having problems with your internet and the trees. When we are in the mountains with our trailer, we have very minimal internet service but they are building a new tower near our property that is supposed to boost the availability so this summer we will see if it is any better.

Judith - I pray that you will get your appointment quickly. Prayers continue.

Marilyn- prayers continue for your upcoming surgery. I pray that your are feeling better regarding your cold and they are able to do the surgery when the time arrives.

It is close to midnight and I need to get to bed. I have a lot of unpacking to do that did not get done tonight. I got the important things done like getting the food in the frigerator and freezer but the clothes are still in the suitcase getting more wrinkled by the minute. 😊 I'm too tired to deal with them tonight. I can put them in the dryer with a wet towel tomorrow and they will be fine. Pleasant dreams everyone! 😴

I can not find the recipe thread so I will put the recipe here for my Chicken Saag Curry. (serves 6)

    1.5 kg chicken breast
    5 cloves garlic finely chopped
    1 Tbsp fresh chopped ginger
    1 400g tin diced tomatoes
    2 Tbsp Garam Masala
    2 Tbsp ground coriander
    2 Tbsp ground cumin
    1 Tbsp curry powder
    1 tsp salt
1 tsp chilli flakes (I used less because I do not like it so hot)
1 400ml tin of coconut cream
2 120g bags of baby spinach or frozen equivalent

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. Add all ingredients to slow cooker except the chicken. (I did not add the coconut cream until later either)
    2. Set to low and cook for 2 1/2 hours.
    3. After this time use a hand mixer and blend the mixture until creamy. (I used an immersion blender.)
    4. Add the chicken and continue cooking 1 1/2 hours.
    5. About 30 minutes before serving, I added the coconut cream. (I read it could separate if cooked too long.)
    6. Serve with rice, naan, and pappadums and enjoy!

Marilyn, so glad you have some meds but I am so sorry to hear you have had such a bad cold. Thanks for letting us know the date of your next surgery. I will keep you in prayer for complete healing from the cold, for the meds to do the work intended. I will keep April 18th in prayer that this surgery will be successful. 🙏

Thank you Linda for posting the recipe, I will check it out later. So happy the Live Theatre was such a blessing, so nice your SIL is so talented in building all the Stage Sets. It’s so nice you have your family in these live Theatre’s. The upcoming Live Theatre sound awesome, I am sure you will enjoy seeing your family taking part.

Susan, hope you are enjoying your travels and sight seeing, I look forward to seeing more pictures and hear about your adventures! Safe Travels!

I am still waiting on hearing from my oncology nurse. I am at Cancer Clinic on the 17th. It’s for the treatment of the nerve damage that was reported from CT Scan. I hope to know what tests and treatment will be suggested soon. I really need to get into my derma-oncologist so he can order tests and what else I need. Please pray for these appointments to open up so I get the right tests and proper follow up. Right now things
are up in the air. Thank you and God Bless!

Judith - praying that the derma-oncologist will quickly respond to your needs. It is hard to have to wait on when they are available. Hopefully they know to make you a priority.

Susan - I hope you found a place that has better Wi-Fi connection. I am anxious to see more pictures. How is Lyn doing after her surgery? Does she need to rest or is she OK to do normal activites?

Marilyn- I pray that your cold is getting better each day and your surgery date can stay the same.

I am still unpacking but my clothes are not as wrinkled as I thought they would be. I worked on some things that we had brought here before we left from my MIL's house last night. I am still working on getting the material ready for the denim quilt she started. It seems like such a big job that I do a little at a time so I am not overwhlemed. Sometimes, other things have gotten in the way of working on it but I hope to get back to it soon. I did not think that retirement would be so busy when I was younger. Where is the time to rest? 😁

No rest for us either, Linda! Lol! Thank you for the curry recipe. I will save it and try it when I get home to my stick blender. Lyn is doing better but is still easily exhausted. We tend to go out for a few hours only, then everybody comes home and rests. Glad you were able to get your trip done and the couch was OK. I wondered if you would see any of the eclipse! I'm on mobile data now. Will have to top it up soon. Maybe Starlink will work better at the next place.

Judith, praying you get those vital appointments soon. I will have more pictures for you at the end if this post.

Marilyn, praying about your surgery too. Hope you are feeling better.

Yesterday we explored some of the rugged coast on the shores of the Great Southern Ocean. And I explored a museum also. This coast has had loads of shipwrecks, but also lots of industry - mining, wool production, cheese and soap makers, hat makers, farming and logging of all sorts... We also saw them salvaging a sailboat with two huge cranes. The boat had scuttled only last week! The crew misjudged a sandbar and it was woe to the ship....the crew escaped safely. Bet they were cold and heartbroken though. 💔

    Evening Hello Ladies,

Marilyn, my prayers continue for you and will focus my prayers for successful surgery and that you recover from your cold quickly. 🙏

Linda, thank you for your prayers. It’s a big job unpacking after being away with sorting through and washing up everything. The quilt sounds like it will be lovely once you finish making it. I’ve always wanted to quilt but will need to make my way to the seniors centre nearby when I’m able to be out again. Wish we liked closer so you could teach me how to quilt.

Susan, your travels sound so exciting travelling over the rugged coast on the shores of the Great Southern Ocean. Exploring the museum and seeing all the artifacts sounds so awesome. It’s wonderful learning about all the industry that is in the area. It would of been interesting seeing them salvage the ship! Seeing the Crane reminded me of the Crane my son has on his work truck. Loved all the photo’s Susan! Thank
    you so much for sharing!

I am still waiting on the oncology nurse to call me. If I haven’t heard from them by next week I will connect with them when I am at my Specialist appointment on Wednesday the 17th. Thank you for your prayers! 🙏🤗

The birds are very active today in our back yard. They are fighting over the new seeds Glenn put in the feeder. The bigger birds are waiting expectantly at the bottom of the feeder to get what the little birds throw out as they eat. They do waste a lot of seeds but I am glad the doves can get some too. They tried to land of the feeder but they are too heavy and they quickly learned not to get on it. The first time it happened, the feeder fell off the post all together. We have it attached to the post with duct tape now so it will not fall. I put out lint from the dryer thinking the birds could us it for their nests but so far no one has gotten any. Maybe it is too early and cold at night to start their nests. Two years ago, a bird built a nest in the bush right outside my window where my desk is. The babies were so loud when the Mom came to feed them. The bush was too thick to see what was going on but the noise alerted me to the hidden activity.

Susan - another group of interesting photos. I especially liked the collection of sea shells. Do you see a lot of shells along the shore when you are walking on the beach? I guess because you live so close to water most of the time, the shells would not be as interesting as it would be to us landlocked people.

Judith - I am a little preturbed at the doctor's office not responding to you. I am not sure how your health care works, but if we do not hear within a few days, we are back on the phone asking what if they got my request. I do remember that my surgeon's appointment took several weeks to get in and that the surgery was set in a few weeks after that, but I woud expect a response from the doctor even if it were the nurse saying they will get back to me. I am so glad that you are patient with them and wait on the Lord to intervene. I need to be more like you.

Marilyn - how are you feeling today. I hope each day is a little bit better for you. Colds can be very miserable.

    Hello all.

Marilyn, good to hear from you. 🙏

Linda, it would be fun to watch the birds and figure out how best to feed them. Yes, there are usually many shells on the beaches here. I do occasionally pick one up to bring back with me. We're encouraged not to as the old shells become homes for new creatures, so some of my collected shells have holes in them. I know they are no longer fit for purpose!

Judith, I sure hope the medical staff call you soon too. 🙏 So glad you are enjoying the pictures! I have more today.

Still no joy with our Starlink. I have submitted two tickets to Support now. So I will end with a few photos from yesterday. We move on tomorrow.

Thank you Linda, yes we do the same, unfortunately Covid put everything behind and we lost a lot of Nurses and Doctors so every area of the Healthcare has been affected. Too many patients and not enough medical staff to cover everyone, for example some of the Emergency Departments of hospitals are closed for a night as they don’t have Doctors to staff the department.

Look below: 2nd post to finish Wednesday’s post! My MFP app was crazy!

    Hi again,

Trouble with MFP keep getting timed out. Finished replying to Linda’s post about my long wait trying to get in to see specialist. Quite frustrating but know I will get in soon.

Susan, love your photo’s! Loved the sea shells, shells have always been my favorite, have collected them over the years. The penguins are so sweet, thanks for sharing! Great history on Hawthorn from 1875 to 1949. The sea picture of the Carpenter Rocks and the lobster boats.
You said you are on the move again. Safe travels, where are you off to now?

Marilyn, great post from Wednesday, thank you, my prayers continue for you! 🙏

Take care all. Took me two posts to get one reply back to both your posts on Wednesday night, so you will see post to Linda on Wednesday and now to Susan Thursday morning!

See you all later. God Bless! 🤗🙏

Susan - What are muster dogs? It looks like someone is trailing some sheep so are they the dogs that keep them going where they need to be? Glenn's family used to trail their sheep long distances to find good pasture. Their dogs were a great help. Now they use big semi-trucks to move the sheep. Traffic on the roads are not as patient as they used to be so it would be dangerous for the sheep to take them down a highway and have some crazy person try to hurry them up or run through them. The penguins are very cute!

Judith - I have been having problems with MFP also with erasing my posts before I am ready to send. It is frustrating but you did great to just post two times. At least you did not loose the first post. I have been using "save draft" frequently and it is working better. If it shoves me out, at least it saves what I am saying.

Today we have our Bible study here so I am mopping floors and generally cleaning. I am taking a break now because all that exercise made me hot and I need a rest to cool off. I washed my mop head last week and could not find it today. I have no idea where it could be so I made a new one with some old rags. I can be inventive when I need to do it. The new head worked fine so now I have a backup if I find the old one.

I have a few more things I need to do before they come in an hour so I will "talk" on the threads later.

Good reminder, Marilyn. I hope you are doing well on those foods.

Linda, how clever about the mop. Enjoy your Bible study. YouTube wouldn't let our Pastor do Livestream last night so I am missing my weekly connection. Yes, Muster Dogs do keep both sheep and cattle going forward and into spaces the farmer wants the livestock to be. There was a Netflix series called Muster Dogs that I just loved. It was about young Australian Shepherd pups that went to farmers in each Australian state to be raised and trained. This area here is so remote, it is OK to herd sheep on the road. People seem to know to be patient and go slow through livestock herds. Dairy cattle are also herded on these roads sometimes.

Judith, glad you liked my photos yesterday ❤️. I am sorry your medical system has been degraded like ours has. It is hard to know how to get medical help here at times. And the waits are long. Yes, we move on today to Kingston SE.

We spent time in Mount Gambier doing domestic things yesterday. I did get a couple of photos.

    Mount Gambier pub

Old flour mill turned Italian restaurant. Also, a Mexican restaurant I had not seen before. Not sure if it is a chain or a privately built one. We do have many other Mexican restaurants here.

We're packing up to go to Kingston SE today, via the coast road. Lyn and Greg decided to go on the inland road to Murray Bridge where we will meet up again in a couple of days. They have seen the coast here. Lyn used to live in Adelaide, South Australia so she wants to see inland parts and visit a cousin in Adelaide.

    Have good days, everyone.

    Good Morning All

I am posting 2 Time and Day Frames! Thursday night for most threads and now Chat Cafe Friday morning!

Marilyn, thank you for posting the chart of good food for the Kidney’s. Hope you are doing well in eating as many of these foods as possible. My prayers continue!

Linda, yes good idea I usually save most of my posts but occasionally the post is lost before I saved, so frustrating when that happens! Hope you have a good Bible Study. That was great in making a new mop head out of old rags, I am sure it worked and did a great job mopping up your floor!

Susan, love the architecture of the buildings you shared, especially the Mount Gambier Pub! All the detail is beautiful! You mentioned you were moving on to Kingston which brought me some lovely memories of my Aunt Helen; Did you know in Ontario Canada there is a city named Kingston, Ontario! My Aunt lived there for a few years before moving to Toronto for her work, a Banking Manager that she worked at until retirement! Your camp ground is so nice where you are leaving from. Hope you have a good place to stay in Kingston. Safe travels my friend!

It’s getting late, almost 12:30am and this gal needs to go to bed! God Bless you all. 😴🙏🤗

I made it to 1000 days of checking MFP! I hope I do not loose this stretch like I did on MFP a few years ago. That was dissapointing especially since I just forgot to go on it. I did not have a good reason for not posting that day.

Today we are doing some cleaning, oving patio furniture out of storage and working in the raised gardens. Our big cleaning is to take our area rug from the living room outside and drape it over the porch swing (it has a canopy it is pretty tall) and spray it with water to clean it. We do have a carpet cleaner but it is too rough on this not so strongly put together rug. It might pull out some of the rug fibers.

Have a safe trip Susan. I hope this next spot you stay is tree free so you can have good Wi-Fi. I agree with Judith, the pictures of the architecture of the pub you sent us is very decorative.

Judith - You keep late hours at night like I do. Sometimes I see I am posting right after you. I try not to stay up too late but sometimes I get iterested in something and loose track of time. Do you get to sleep in on days you are up past midnight? I have a friend who has a cat that gets her up at 5:30am to have breakfast. She gets up then goes back to bed for a few hours. Does Miss Sunshine have early breakfast time?

Marilyn - great posting of the allowed foods. That is good to know for all of us. It is important that we take care of all the parts of our bodies - organs included.

Good Saturday morning. I've just had breakfast, stripped the bed in preparation for washing, and Colin has taken our laundry to a laundromat. We're off grid at Kingston SE so have to make the water last. Our little washing machine goes through lots of water per load.

Congratulations on your 1000 days with MFP, Linda! Hope the rug turns put well. It's rainy here so I wouldn't have a place to try a project like that. Our trip here was safe. Our camp till tomorrow is in a big field next to the foreshore of the Great Southern Ocean. There is a beautiful foreshore park with thick green grass, but the field has patchy grass with burrs. That wouldn't matter if we didn't have dogs who collect a load of them every time we walk them. They do love the foreshore park but have to walk through burrs to get there. We go to Murray Bridge tomorrow.

Marilyn, hope you ate getting good sleeps these days.

Judith, yes, I did remember about Kingston. Ontario 😃 . This Kingston has Sn SE after it, not sure why. Many towns here are named after English, YS and Canadian places. It gets cold enough here for people to have fireplaces, sometimes 3 or 4 fireplaces to a house. It's not cold enough yet but winter starts June 1st. I hope you are having a good day.

I didn't get too many photos yesterday. The farm land we travelled through was pretty flat and we were often got hedged in by bushes on either side of the road. A town called Robe had some pretty sights though.
