    Good Morning!
I can’t believe it is June already!
We’ve had so much rain. Everything is overgrown. We still have things to get done but only having the weekends makes it tough especially when one of the days it’s raining. It’s also been windy. I’m about ready to give up on my projects for the summer. We’re putting in a patio in the backyard which has been delayed a few times. They were able to work on it last week and they should be able to pour cement this week as long as the rain holds off. Then we can have our backyard back.
Last Friday one of my dogs had a seizure. Scared me to death. I was alone and I didn’t know what to do. He ended up going down the steps before I could get him. I finally got him down in our foyer and held him till he snapped out of it. We had to run him to the ER Vet. We don’t have any idea why this happened. I’m afraid to leave him alone now. He’s my baby and my walking buddy. I don’t know what I’d do without him. I’m getting frustrated with all the not so good things happening. Things need to turn around soon. Today I go to the Dermatologist. A little nervous about that too. What else!
    How is everyone doing?
I hope your summer is going well. Getting out running.
I hope you have a great week!

    Hi Becky!!!

Sorry, I haven't been here as much lately - lots going on. We've been spending a lot of time at my MIL's house in Kentucky. If we just go for the day, that is five hours of driving. But DH went for a week and I went for a several days, came home to check on the cats, then went back. And work...have been working a lot of OT. Sometimes I am just exhausted! But I am doing my runs. I had to really scale back because I have just been too exhausted. Just short, slow runs. I was supposed to do a race last weekend but I was in Kentucky then.

Becky, hope your patio gets done! Did the rain hold off long enough for the concrete? It has been such nice weather here, but now we are in the mid-90s and super humid. Standard Tennessee weather. But it is hotter than it ought to be. I have been running at lunch or in the early evenings, but now it is just too hot for that, so I am trying to get out early in the mornings again. Hard to adjust to that.

How is your puppy doing? I hope no more seizures! That is very scary. Wonder if a dog neurologist could help? But I guess that would be very expensive. Did the dermatologist go okay? I need to go for my annual appointment.

I'll try to check in again soon!!!!

    Good evening!
Hot and humid day today. Our weather has been so up and down. Totally opposite of last year. So much flooding. Here we just have the Mississippi River. Sadly boats can’t get out and now there’s no camping. Sure won’t be a good 4th of July if this doesn’t get better. Should crest on Sunday but that’s all dependent on if the state gets more rain and how much.
Gloria- the concrete got poured finally. Haven’t been able to enjoy sitting out there yet though. My garden is doing horrible. Planted beans 3 times. Things just aren’t coming up. My Marigolds are almost dead. I’ve never had issues with either. It’s just too wet. Weeds are doing well though. Cooper hadn’t had another seizure yet. I’m praying it stays that way.

I’ve been getting out on dog walks. That seems to be my exercise these days. I get to the Y about once a week. I will try running when I get on the treadmill but that’s pretty much it. Ive been having stomach issues so this week I’ve cut out coffee and I’m watching what I eat. Trying to go with foods that are easier on the stomach. I’m trying to avoid a trip to the Dr. I’m really feeling old lately so I need to do something.

Gloria-how is your MIL doing? That’s a lot of driving but I bet she appreciates you guys coming to help her. I’m glad you’re able to get in some runs.
I hope everyone else is doing well. I hope your weather isn’t too bad. I won’t complain because our summer is so short.

    Have a wonderful week!

Becky, I was SOOOO glad to hear from you as we have heard about the horrible flooding. It doesn't sound good and I am sorry about your garden. Our weather has been extremely hot and humid - it usually is here, but sometimes it has been worse than usual. I'm also still doing the Y and going to run when I am able. Today I needed to run but ended up walking with a friend instead. I've been working very long hours so sometimes it is hard to squeeze those runs in. And as hot as it is, I really need to run in the mornings but with working so late, I don't want to get up that early. My MIL seems to be doing well - we plan to go this weekend and then DH will go again for a week in July - I might go for a few days but I am short on vacation time - I am saving some for my parents and for me to have a few days at home later in the summer. We went kayaking last weekend, DH, a bunch of friends, and I. It was nice. It's been so busy and I am still trying to do all of the usual stuff. It is kind of exhausting. Ha!

    Good Morning!
I hope everyone had a nice 4th of July. It was wet here so we didn’t do anything plus my DH worked at the store for a few hrs. My poor puppy didn’t do well with the fireworks at all. I’m going to have to get meds for her come hunting season.
The flooding is getting better. Water is receding. Sadly it wasn’t a good holiday weekend for camping or boating. Not around here. Campground was under water and most of the boat ramps were also under water. Plus there’s a ton of stuff floating in the river. Things should be looking up by the weekend though and by next week the campground should be back open.

Gloria-it’s nice to hear from you. I’m glad your MIL is doing well. Is the job you have now less stressful than your last job? I’m glad you’re able to get exercise in. We haven’t really had any hot days yet this year. Mid 80’s towards the end of the week. Not too bad. No 90’s in the forecast.
I’m still walking and then trying to get a little jogging in when I go on the treadmill. My neck and shoulder is bothering me now. My knees aren’t bothering me as much right now which is good. My eating has been awful. It was going good until we made a Costco run. They always have new treats to try and I seem to fail miserably with them. I’m trying to get my fruits and veggies in. I’ve also been having stomach issues. The last couple of days I’ve been good so hopefully I’m done with that for a while. I swear if it’s not one thing it’s another.
Summer seems to be flying by. It needs to slow down. I don’t think we’re going to be lucky this winter and have a mild winter.
I hope everyone has a nice week ahead.

    Hello!

I hope everyone is doing well. We’ve finally got our summer. Temps are warm now. It’s been dryer too.

I’m still walking. Tried jogging on the treadmill. Slow but it’s a start. It’s hard to believe summer is winding down. Won’t be long and school will be back in session.

I hope you’ve been having a nice summer. Miss hearing from everyone. Miss Spark too.

    Have a nice evening!

Becky!!! Hello!!!! So sorry I have been missing in action. I get so exhausted these days and so overwhelmed and then I just forget to post. School starts here in just over a week. So I guess summer is effectively over. I am not ready for fall. I am trying to run but lately have been plagued with fatigue. Went back to interval running for a while, especially with the crazy bad heat and humidity, but Saturday I was just so exhausted I didn't even know if I could walk - I needed to do six miles, and I did finish, but I could barely make myself go. I am trying to get more strength training in too. Becky, slow on the treadmill is a good thing. I have been doing that sometimes. I find that I am actually more consistent on the treadmill and honestly, I think I should try to do that more. My job...well, I have been working a lot of OT lately, not as much as my old job, but with us being out of town a lot, I feel busier than ever. Just tired and I can't keep up with everything! But hopefully things will slow down soon. We've only been kayaking once so far, have only used the swimming pool twice, and haven't been camping at all. But I have a girls trip coming up in August (going to a 10k trail race - I will be hiking more so than running) and we are renting a cabin there. Also, DH and I will be camping for a few days in September. So there are some good times to look forward too!!!

Gloria-it was nice hearing from you. This summer has just gone by way too fast. Again, we didn’t do much. I’m trying to get motivated. Just isn’t there. My sugar addiction is awful. I’ll go a week of doing fine and then I get thrown off and I’m back to poor eating. It’s been a struggle. Thank goodness I’m walking daily.
Getting together with the girls sounds like fun. I’d love to be able to get away. I’d love to go on a retreat. Somewhere that focuses on health. I don’t think there’s anything like that around here though.
I do need to get back to the Y again. After Labor Day things should start to slow down. At least I hope so.

I hope everyone is having a great summer! Take care!

Good Morning! It's great to hear from you! I am with you on the sugar. That is definitely an issue for me right now. I am struggling. Plus, no matter how well I do, I am gaining weight very fast. I upped my activity, added a lot more freggies, and I am still gaining. I am finding it hard to run with this extra weight on me.

We just got back from Michigan for my dad's 80th BD party. That was a whirlwind trip. We are seeing signs of fall, kind of not ready for that yet. It is cooler but hot hot hot weather is coming back for the weekend.

Ugh! I just made a post only I forgot to post it!

I hope everyone is doing well. We are having the hottest days of summer right now. Feels like 110 today.
I did just a 1 mile walk this morning with my dog. You just couldn’t breathe out there. Yesterday we didn’t get moving early enough so it was a rest day which I really did need. I had too many things to get done. Storms possible tonight and tomorrow so it may be a treadmill day.

Gloria-luckily it’s not looking like fall here yet. University started today. Our State Fair is going on thru Labor Day which I can’t believe is coming up. Good thing we don’t go to that. The last time I went I got sick. It was hot like today.
My sugar habit is bad. I’m working on it now. I just have to stay away from the coffee shop. She had a case full of bars and she always cuts them so big. We go there every Thursday and then next door to it is a Biergarten that serves beer and has live music. All outdoors. We tend to order food from the local restaurants down there and sometimes the coffee shop. She has good sandwiches and pizza.

The weather is supposed to cool down by the weekend again. That will be nice.

I hope you enjoy your week and I hope it’s not too hot!

It is so hot here too - but not super humid, at least not today, thank goodness. Becky, sounds like it might be worse weather there than here as far as that goes. Our air quality is bad. I went out after work and I always roll my window down, but like you said, kind of difficult to breath.

Some of my GFs and I went for a girls' weekend - it was for a trail race. We did the 10K but I don't run on trails at all anymore. So I hiked it, had a great time! Later we kayaked, then we went out in the evening for a two mile walk. Yesterday we went for another long walk. Nice times! After I got home I chilled in the pool for a while. It was a great weekend. And I did okay with my eating! My sugar consists more of ice cream, lol. I am trying really hard to do better. And I think I need to get rid of the dairy. I have tried so many times, but always go back to eating it. I love dairy foods.

    Take care!!!!!

Our summer continues! We had a bit of cooling but now the heat and humidity is back. I’m not complaining, Those crisp fall days will be here before we know it.
I’m still just walking. Had to do a little jogging a couple times due to thunder. My dog enjoyed that. Still a little slow for his liking.

Lots going on here on the weekends. This weekend we were busy around the house getting things done. I’m hoping to start back up at the Y sometime this week. I need to get back on track.

I’ve got a lot of tomatoes to be picked and frozen. Not my favorite job at all. Everything else is done.

Gloria-Sounds like you’re having a good time. I have not done nearly as much as I’d like to.

I hope everyone is enjoying the end of summer.

    Have a great week!

Hello!!!! Hope all is well, and Becky, I am always so happy to hear from you. How do you freeze your tomatoes? I should try to do that. My mom and sister can their tomatoes and that is just too much work for me right now with my job.

I've been hitting the Y twice a week for strength training and still trying to run as much as I can, which is now more walking but still okay. Mostly I am doing run/walk intervals. Yesterday I met up with a whole bunch of friends to walk on the greenway.

It is soooo hot and humid here. Feels like summer, not the first day of fall. It's been in the 90s and we have been getting very little rain. Hoping that this week brings a change - we desperately need rain.

Gloria-it was nice to hear from you. I hope you’re safe from that hurricane.

I still haven’t started back at the Y. My DIL had to be admitted into the hospital for her pregnancy. She had something called Previa Placenta. She was bleeding so they were watching her. It stopped but a few days later it started up again so they delivered. She had a 5lb 4 oz little boy. He’s doing well in the NICU. So I am officially a grandma. He’s just the sweetest thing ever. I’ve been spending alot of time driving down to where he is and helping the kids out doing laundry and whatever else they need done. Plus now that it’s Fall, it’s time to start cleaning everything up outside. It doesn’t feel like fall. It’s dry and warm. I’m still walking daily but it’s not doing anything for my weight. Once we get everything done by my sons and stuff done here I can start taking care of myself more.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Sharon hasn’t posted in quite awhile. I hope she is doing well. I miss Spark.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Becky!!!! Congrats Grandma! Do you have a grandma name picked out? Will you be Grandma, or Nana, or Mimi? Or something else? That is sooooo exciting!

Sharon is doing okay, she still is running a lot, and tending to her organic garden.

We have had some very much needed rain, and some wind, but we have not had the devastation here like they have had in East Tennessee and western North Carolina. Just terrible what has happened there. We actually went to East Tennessee today to pick up something that belonged to my FIL, but we weren't in the areas that were so hard hit.

It has been so very hot and dry here, like in the 90s. We've had a drought. But finally we got this rain. And it wasn't as hot today. What has been a blessing here is a disaster elsewhere. It is so sad. I have been running still but mostly doing 1:1 intervals right now. I've got to get these extra pounds off because it is too much to run with the arthritis I have in my feet and knees and everything...

Thank you! They just call me grandma right now.

I’m happy to hear that Sharon is doing well.
I’m still walking but I’m like you, I need to get this weight off. My arthritis has been bad lately. I need to also do more than just that. These weeks have been busy. I need to make the time to go to the Y. It’s been dry here also. Warm and cool. Now the next few days are going to be cold and then a warm up. This was always the perfect running time of the year. Now I’m still walking until my arthritis settles down. I probably should call my Dr and get PT but I keep thinking everything will pass.

Gloria-I’m glad that you haven’t experienced the bad weather. Hopefully these storms will be done. Next it’ll be snow/ice.

    Have a great week everyone!

Hello!!!!!! Here to say hello! We finally got some cooler weather, but it was really just for a few days. Now the nights are chilly but the days are warm. We have had a lot of sun, no rain for a long time, and we really need it. I've been trying to stay on top of things, but it gets so hectic and I get so tired. I have mostly been doing run/walk/run intervals these days, but lately I am trying to increase the run time because I did register for the April half marathon that I usually do. I mean, I will walk the whole thing if I have to, but I would rather be able to run at least some of it! I'm still going to the Y at least a couple of times a week for strength training. Now that it isn't 100 degrees and humid, it does seem like it is going better. Becky, you are right, the winter precip will soon be a thing. We've had a lot more snow the past couple of years, wonder how it will turn out this year. DH is still talking about a new treadmill but I am inclined to just keep using this one since I would rather be outside.

    Hello!

Sorry I haven’t responded. I’ve been pretty busy. I’m still walking and we finally got rain which forced me to go on the treadmill and elliptical. Boy do I need cross training. The elliptical was tough. My calves really felt it. I need to make time for the Y.

The weather here has been good. More rain now after being in a moderate drought. Temps are now in the 50’s for highs. 30’s and 40’s for lows. Love getting out early in the morning with those lows.

I can’t believe we’re nearing Thanksgiving and the holiday season. Too early. Time needs to slow a bit.

Gloria- it’s nice to hear from you. I too need strength training.

I hope everyone is doing well!

    Have a great weekend!

Good Morning! "Long" run for me today. Long is not very long anymore. But I did sign up for a half in the spring so I will be doing more "long" runs soon. It is still pretty warm here and very dry. We did get a little bit of fall color, but it's mostly just dry and now the leaves are beginning to fall off. We have not had the heat on at all yet and it is pushing on to mid-November. I was sick for a few days last week and so ended up not doing some of my runs or strength training. Now I need to get back to it. Now it is dark when I come home from work and it has been hard to do my workouts in the mornings. I used to get up early to run but for some reason I am struggling with that now.
