If you were going to make a podcast what would it be about?
I would love to make a podcast about decluttering, organizing and cleaning. If I was making a video blog, I'd want to do a cooking show. Can't really do a cooking show as a podcast, and decluttering is best done as a recorded podcast rather than video.

@digger61 – What are you going to do with all the ‘maters? For some reason, my mind is thinking you mentioned last year that you make canned sauce?

@FushiaKat – Hope you start feeling better so you can get working on the Halloween building!

@Katmary71 – I still adore Blueberry tea, but for my lunchtime cold infusion I’ve been using Tangerine Orange Zinger for about 3 months now. Absolutely love it – reminds me of Tang LOLs. For morning black tea and evening tisanes, I’m all across the board, trying lots of new flavors from small family businesses. My most recent company purchases have been Ohio Tea Company, Tiesta Teas and Plume & Willow. You wouldn’t want me to start listing all the flavors…way too many! Glad to hear your charity work is good. Bingo will be fun! I have been doing the RAINBOW challenge with you…just haven’t posted it. Please don’t stop – I need the inspiration! I’ll list yesterday’s at the end of my post. What’s an herb spiral?

@trooworld – Have you made a list of places you want to go/do when you’ve recovered from surgery and are able to be on the go more? I’m so excited for you!

@TeresaW2024 – Thank you for being such a great cheerleader for me :) Also, I think a walking pad for Maggie would be the smart route to take (pun intended).

Thank you to everyone that keeps encouraging me…I appreciate it! The past couple days have been crazy busy with work and a neurology visit for Oliver. Hunter made me lunch for work today…I woke up this morning to sticky notes all over the bathroom mirrors, kitchen table and purse telling me not to forget to grab the bag in the fridge. As I assembled all the parts to the sandwich, I realized just how overboard it was. Specialty bread, 7 slices Tofurkey, 3 slices cheeze, vegan mayo, lettuce & tomato. Yes, I ate it and it was delicious. But it helped me with figuring out how to reduce the points/calories. Next time, just 1 slice of cheeze and mustard in place of mayo. Literally reduces it by half! Tonight’s dinner will be baked tater, non-starchy veg and a salad to keep me on track! My grocery haul at Wally World to stock my office ended up being 10 packs of Ben’s rice pouches, 3 cans and 3 tetra packs of soups and chili, 4 cans of plain beans and a large jar of guac salsa. That is a month’s worth. Definitely trying to set myself up for success. Proud of myself for following through with stocking my office space.

    EAT THE RAINBOW 9/18:
    Red: tomatoes, bell pepper
    Orange:
    Yellow: banana
    Green: spinach, avocado, green onion
    Blue/Purple:
    White: leek, onion, mushrooms, potato

If you were going to make a podcast what would it be about?
Hmmm…probably talking about B-rated horror movies LOLs

@micaroo4 Sounds like keeping the dosage stable for a bit to see if you're responding is a good idea, herbs don't work as fast as medication and tend take longer. I got a higher dose and just take one but it's also in my vitamin/mineral drink, you have me curious now what that dose is I need to do some math! I really hope it IS working for you but glad you're getting better sleep whatever the reason. Hey do you want to come up with a decluttering challenge for us? Like a Fall challenge?

@trooworld Yay for good sleep! I hope the phone can be repaired, good luck! Would your husband or a friend take that class with you?

@TeresaW2024 Aw shoot that's too bad I wish the dog park would work for Maggie. You did great with orange!

    Ice Breaker Question
Funny the practitioner I'm working with had talked to the woman who discussed herbs in the last class and came to me like I'd been hiding my herb experience from her and asked if I'd do some teaching with her yesterday. I told her I'd think about it so that's my first podcast thought as herbs and/or gardening. Not as fun but I don't think the general public knows how far things have swung in the opposite direction for chronic pain patients with the opioid crisis but that IS addressed if you look for it.

@baodekk17724 You may find those topics if you follow numerous groups and not just one though I'm trying to recall a website with all of it. For disability and health Donovan Green addresses a bit. My chronic pain and CRPS groups touch on all of those. I'm not a huge video person I missed when blogs were more popular.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I've never seen tangerine orange zinger, sounds great! I've been curious about Tiesta Teas, so many of theirs sound delicious. I'm glad you're doing the rainbow challenge too! That was very sweet of Hunter I love it. You've always done well when you had plans for things like when you were making ingredients and had them ready to throw together. You got this! Great rainbow!

Hi team! Something's flown into the greenhouse and left eggs on the garden club cabbage, the manager told me she squished worms so I spent awhile going through everything. I'm taking it easy right now and have a bone health class later to go to, one of my friends and her mom is coming so it will be fun to have them there. I'm going early to go over my balance and have a mid-afternoon bath ready so have a great night and awesome Friday!

Rainbow- apple, zucchini (threw it in eggs), lettuce, lemon, almonds, ginger, tumeric, orange, Greek yogurt, cinnamon, vanilla, peppermint. (have lemon, ginger, tumeric, orange cubes I'm throwing in my water in the mornings for the day).

Hi, thought I'd check in. It's the height of ragweed season, so I am having a bit of trouble functioning. Head congestion is making moving uncomfortable and resulting in a bit of a brain fog. My air filters keep me alive, but I feel so much better after sunset, when the pollen clears!

Since moving isn't great for me during the day, I am looking at adding a walk after dark to get some movement then. (My therapist also recommends a daily walk for me, to at least start getting out of the house.) Walking on the treadmill at home instead of the gym may also be a good idea during pollen heavy hours.

I'm trying to work on my eating habits, adding good things, eating less junky foods. Keeping to my calories has been not bad this week (for me). Today I actually craved healthy food! I had a whole grain waffle with yogurt, sunflower seeds, and a banana. Dinner will be chicken, a small potato, and half a plate of veggies.

For the icebreaker question... gosh, hard choice. First choice, a podcast about cats, cause I am NUTS about cats! Discussing them is one of my favorite things. As a second choice, as a history major I'd like to discuss ancient history, but not things like wars. Wars, kings, etc. always get covered! I want to discuss how people lived! I'd love to have people who know more on so I could learn more about ordinary life as well.

@TeresaW2024 Yeah they seem very intense but fun lol. That's a good idea. Oh man, that stinks about Maggie's groomer appt! I'm glad you were able to make another appt. Any pics of Maggie with her new haircut? :D I hope you enjoyed your casserole.

    @askewcr Congrats on the loss!

@micaroo4 There is kind of a cooking podcast, have you heard of Sporkful? https://www.sporkful.com/ They sometimes include cooking food in that podcast. I like that one!

@vegan4lyfe2012 No but maybe I'll make a Pinterest board for things like that, that's a great idea! Thank you! That was a good way to reduce points/calories. Good idea to set yourself up for success. I'd listen to your podcast! :)

@Katmary71 It was a quick fix, it cost $99 though. :( My friend will take that class with me, I asked her already and she's down for it. My husband? Noooo lol. I'm glad you were able to take it easy for a bit. Wow, that's a lot of rainbow! :D

@morenin A daily walk after dark sounds nice. Do you have somewhere nice and safe to walk? That's great you were craving healthy foods! I would definitely listen to those podcasts! The history one sounds particularly interesting.

THURSDAY ICE BREAKER QUESTION: If you were going to make a podcast what would it be about? I guess it would be a behind-the-scenes about my library work, or about weird art lol. Possibly another one about pugs: their care, the funny things they do lol.

Hi all. Not much going on here. I'm picking up our groceries tonight because we have a busy weekend. I hate picking my groceries up after work: the stores are really busy and it's hard to find parking in the pick-up area. It's very stressful for me and shoots my anxiety up very high. I have a physical therapy appt today. I've been doing the exercises with a few exceptions.

    Good morning Slims!
Another good night's sleep! I resumed taking 2 of the ashwagandha yesterday, and I got another good night's sleep. I think it's the ashwagandha that's working, so I will continue to take 2 per day.

@Katmary71 - I would love to set up a decluttering challenge! Do you want a one week challenge, or something that goes for a month?

If anyone wants to participate in a decluttering challenge, let me know what are your top goals for decluttering?

I don’t know where to start with declutterring. When I see stuff I instantly know of why I need to keep it.

@Katmary71 – Tiesta makes some good ones. My faves are Fruity Paradise, Pomegranatopia, Nutty Almond Cream, Ceylon, and Strawberry Samba Maté. I hope you’re able to eradicate all the icky worms in the greenhouse!

@morenin – I’d totally listen to your podcast about the ordinary life of ancient peoples! I hope the pollen settles and you feel better soon. Night walks are invigorating to me.

@trooworld – I think a Pinterest board of all the places you’d like to go would be fantastic motivation!

@micaroo4 – You’ve got me very interested in ashwagandha. I may just have to try it. My top goal for decluttering isn’t to get rid of everything, but to actually get it organized.

Yesterday when I got home from work I didn’t want to make healthy food. I held and played with Oliver for a little bit. Then I looked at his big eyes and knew I needed to motivate. He supervised me while I prepped 5 pounds of taters for the instant pot. Got those going then steamed asparagus and prepped salad. I actually stuck to my food plan and was feeling good. But then the snackies hit me around 9pm. Made a halfway decent choice with Triscuits, but started craving something creamy with it so I had some cream cheeze with them. Used up all my bonus points for the week. So…lesson learned…gotta seriously plan my snacks right along with my meals. I’m getting there…

    EAT THE RAINBOW 9/19
    Red: strawberries, tomatoes
    Orange: carrots, orange
    Yellow:
    Green: romaine, asparagus
    Blue/Purple: cabbage
    White: potato

@micaroo4 I would listen to your podcast! I’m all about decluttering, organizing, and cleaning. :)

@vegan4lyfe2012 You are welcome! I always wanted to be a cheerleader. :) That was sweet of Hunter to make you lunch. You just need to teach her to use better portion control. :D

@Katarmy71 I think your podcast would be great. I would listen because I know very little about herbs and how to use them for pain management and good health. Ew on squishing worms!!

@trooworld Can you have groceries delivered to you? I think it’s the greatest thing ever!! :D Your podcast about the behind-the-scenes of your job would be fascinating, and I think one on pugs would be sweet and funny. :)

Good morning! Y’all, my poor Maggie Mae looks like a freak! They had to cut her coat very short and all but shave her poor tail because it was so matted. I had tried to keep it brushed, but her tail always gets matted when it gets too long. So now she has a rat's tail! :D My too-greasy pizza casserole didn’t sit well with Joe, and he was up and down most of the night, not feeling well. I decided not to work out so I could keep an eye on him. My girlfriend is coming from coffee after lunch, so I need to sweep the floors and tidy up around the house. Have a great day!

    Thursday Ice Breaker Question
If you were going to make a podcast what would it be about?

I would do a podcast on what it’s like to marry a much older man and then have to deal with aging and dementia. I’m sure it would be riveting. :D

Here are some before-and-after pictures of Maggie. You can just barely make out her pathetic rat's tail. :D

@TeresaW2024 - Is her tail usually straight hair? That's what Gus has- his tail curls up over his back- and it takes a lot of combing. The Tangles! But it looks magnificent!

@micaroo4 - I am interested in the decluttering challenge. However, I tend to join challenges and then not really get into them. What are your thoughts for how it should work? I do have some serious decluttering goals that I procrastinate

I'm excited to announce that I graduated from PT. My hip made a popping noise at my last visit, then it did it two more times that day. Since then, no pops, but I almost feel normal again. Weird, but I'll take it!

@Cornanda Congratulations on graduating from PT!

@TeresaW2024 Maggie looks too cute! Oh no poor Joe I hope he's feeling better by now. Have a great time with your friend!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Just screenshot your tea recommendations, thank you! Great job on the prepping! Hm I'm struggling with the night munchies too, you didn't make the worst choice if you could moderate cream cheese and Triscuits. I have a candy bar in the house that I'm managing to avoid because my pain is better and the sugar would throw me off, I'm trying an apple dipped in Greek yogurt so the protein helps. What a beautiful rainbow! Sorry I'm being lazy just listing everything.

@19shmoo69 I'm like you I want to keep everything. I like sardines too but that's a lot at once!

@micaroo4 I'm good with one week or a month, realistically it would take more than a week for me to get my house clean but I'm willing to follow anything you suggest and do my best. My goals are getting rid of junk and getting more organized.

@trooworld I'm glad your friend is in for the class I wish I could come with! Thank you! I don't like shopping at night or even doing pickup either I seem to arrive right after people who order $1000 of groceries. Good luck with that and PT, great job keeping up the exercises!

@morenin I've been having issues with allergies too I'm super tired. A night walk sounds perfect I'm glad you're getting some exercise. Nice eats, it's wonderful when we crave healthy food! I couldn't wait for my salad today (ice cream cravings are slowing down). I'm always down for cat talks do you let yours watch Cat TV?

Hi friends! Went to the farm and greenhouse today then have been cleaning. My class was real interesting last night on bone health and immunity, I never really thought of the two being connected. Tomorrow morning I'm going to the neighborhood breakfast, getting my produce box, going to the farmer's market, and checking on everything in the greenhouse then will likely have a mellow rest of the day. My pain was a lot better yesterday so I took less pain medication, I don't feel as good as today but am trying to keep it lowered (hoping I'll be less worn out). I made a ton of pesto and froze it, I have a lot of herbs to deal with still! Have a great Saturday friends.

Rainbow- lemon, ginger, tumeric, orange, blueberry (tea), lettuce, walnuts, cranberry, basil, feta, parmesan, olive oil, and garlic. (from a mouthful of pesto on the last ones!)

    Good morning Slims!

    Declutter Challenge
Since everyone has different goals, we'll try a one week challenge and you can let me know what works and what doesn't.

Decide how much time you want to spend each day. I recommend that you spend no more than one hour, or you will be overwhelmed and burn out fast.

For every 10 minutes of pulling stuff out to declutter, you need another 5 minutes to organize it and put it away. I usually like to work in 15 minute increments so that I don't pull out too much stuff at once.

I'll give a suggestion each day for what to declutter, but you can choose anything you want to work on.

Saturday assignment: declutter your nightstand. This is pretty easy, because you don't need to pull anything out - it's already out. Take everything off, evaluate each item:
    1. Do you need it at all? (Toss it)
    2. Does it really need to be on the nightstand? (Return it to it's proper home)
    3. If you use it everyday, put it back on the nightstand.
    4. If it's decor, just make sure you have room for everything you need and use every day, before putting any of the decorative items back on the nightstand.

@vegan4lyfe2012 She is pathetically adorable, which is why she rules our house. :D

@Cornanda Her tail hair is usually straight but very fine, so it tangles instantly. I usually have them cut her tail hair relatively short when she gets groomed just to keep the tangles away. It will be fun to watch it grow back. :) Yay for graduating PT and feeling so much better.

@Katmary71 That sounds like an interesting class on bone health and immunity. One of the benefits of rebounding is bone health. ;) You must always love when you have less pain and can take less medication. I love pesto! My favorite way to eat it is to add a good dollop to the top of spaghetti. The combo of marinara and pesto is so good! :)

@micaroo4 Saturday assignment: declutter your nightstand accepted! I have very large mirrored nightstands that hold a lot of stuff. I will clean the tops, go further, and straighten out each of the nightstand's three drawers. :)

Good morning! We had a much better night’s sleep after going to bed before 9 p.m. last night and getting to sleep until 6:30 a.m. before Maggie woke me up needing to go out. :) There is not much going on today other than the usual. I just looked at the weather, and we are back into the high 80s all week. Ugh! The girls will be here this evening, so that will be fun. I think I will make BBQ sloppy Joe’s for dinner. I might make carrot fries to go with them since I have a whole bag in the fridge and orange seems to be my favorite rainbow color to eat. Have a great day! :)

I don't, but with 3 cats, a dog, and 3 humans to pet them, alone with a horde of toys, they are usually fine. They also like to sit in the windows and watch the local birds; I actually refer to THAT as cat TV!

@micaroo4 That's great! I would participate in your challenge. When you initially asked about our goals, I thought I would set a goal to declutter a shelf in my spare room as it is badly needed. But I like your idea of you giving us prompts. I have a badly cluttered nightstand, so that works. I don't know if I can do the challenge during the week as I have such busy days, but I'll try.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Yeah I set a reminder to do it as I promptly forgot after I said that lol. But your reminder just now helped, so thanks! I'm glad Oliver was able to inspire you and you got some prep done. Good idea to plan snacks.

@19shmoo69 My husband loves sardines. We put a little sardines on our dogs' food, the sardines in water.

@TeresaW2024 The problem is I go to 4 different stores (I'm picky + to save money), so no lol. Thanks! Awww, poor Maggie! And poor Joe. I hope you enjoy coffee with your bestie. Actually, that would be an interesting podcast! I think Maggie looks great. I can't really see her poor tail but otherwise, she looks nice. I'm glad you had a better night's sleep. BBQ sloppy Joes sound yummy.

@Cornanda That's great you graduated from PT! I'm glad you feel almost normal. Yay! AND congrats on that loss!

    @davors19 @Bethanie0825 @baodell17724 Congrats on your losses!

@Katmary71 Yes, it should be fun! Yeah that's usually how it works with the shopping lol. I'm glad your pain was less. I hope you feel better today than yesterday.

Hi all. I slept in this morning: my body usually wakes me up at 4 am but today, it let me sleep in until 5:45! It felt glorious. We got our groceries last night but were almost late, which really got my anxiety up high...there was traffic getting there and it took about twice as long to get there. Pick-up went okay. What stresses me out (besides being almost late) is that at Sam's Club, there are only 8 spots, and half of them are taken up by people who are just too lazy to walk far to the store: they park in the designated pick-up spots (not having anything to pick up) and go in the store and shop. So, that leaves just a few spots for pick-up, which are always taken. Today, Comic Con tickets go on sale so I have to try to get them. It's not guaranteed. I have a sleep apnea video consultation this morning and then later today, we are going to a huge street fair with 5 stages of music. We go every year, it should be fun!
