Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!

We have 13 (C) partly cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 23 and 3% chance of precipitation.

    Sounds like a lovely day.

As the fall continues, and the leaves are dropping with the relatively cooler weather I can hear the train when it runs through in the next town over more clearly.

Down the street here, they have been building a Chabad fulfillment center (I think that's right) for over a year now. Progress has been slow since the rabbi moved in next door to the construction site, but of late it has intensified and there is some noise from that. Thankfully the noise isn't TOO loud and only happens during normal working hours.

Dinner last night, for me, was kielbasa, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes. Very tasty.

Well, back to the work front.

Hope everyone has a great day!

    Hi Ed and Irene.
Jo, it was routine, all is well. Are you going to England? So exciting!
I'm not bringing any more plants in. We've had a couple of overnight freeze warnings already. There are still some flowers blooming! Beautiful and amazing!
    It's currently 47F, 8C. Partly cloudy. High 66F, 19C. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Stained glass is cancelled for today because of early voting, but we're still on for the clay group this afternoon as far as I know. It's kind of nice not to gather all my things, pack a lunch, and rush out of the house in the a.m.
Wishing all a fine Tuesday. πŸŒ€οΈπŸŽƒπŸ‚πŸ·πŸ•ŠοΈ

    Good morning all
It's currently 49F, 9C. Sunshine and clouds mixed. Very warm. High 77F, 25C. Winds light and variable.
Warm the next couple of days.
I brought home the clay skull I made after bisque firing. We'll set it up with a candle for Halloween, then I'll take it back and glaze it and fire it again before putting it away for next year. It's kind of silly looking, looks more like a smiling alien skull. I'll send a picture when it's lit up.
I have some errands to run today, set up appts, library, get a sympathy card. My cousin in Florida passed away. Apparently came home from a cruise and had caught Covid. We're all getting older. Still sad, he was so nice. Not many family left.
Anyway, it should be a pretty nice day outside.
Wishing all a happy πŸͺ day. πŸŽƒπŸ‚πŸŒ€οΈπŸ·πŸ•ŠοΈ

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

We have 18 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 24 and 7% chance of precipitation.

I encountered some of that 7% taking Dinah in to the vet this morning, for her annual stuff. She has some gingivitis as well and we need to schedule a dental cleaning once we see how her senior bloodwork results look.

She was not thrilled about going to the vet.

So sorry to hear about your cousin, Vix.

    Back to work!

    Good morning;
It is currently 59F and cloudy. We had rain overnight.
Vix-So sorry to hear about your cousin.
Ed-I don't think any cat likes to go to the vet.
I met one of the new neighbors yesterday. He seems very nice.
    Nothing new here.
    Have a good day! :)

    Happy Halloween!

We have 16 (C) mostly cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 26 and 3% chance of precipitation.

Today we have a demo for a company we are partnering with to develop some useful technology. I don't have to be present but may zoom in anyway, just so I have no surprises later about how it went.

Power waffles for breakfast, with a small banana, some orange juice, two boiled eggs and two sausage patties. Just a light drizzle of real Vermont maple syrup on the waffles.

    And it's time for work.

Thank you for the condolence messages.
Ed, good to keep Dinah healthy. Good luck with the demo.
Jo, glad your new neighbor seems nice.
Irene, I voted last week, no wait at all, but the Sr Center on Tuesday when I was at clay was jammed. You had to wait to get a spot in the parking lot, and the voting line went all the way down the hall to the back door and into the parking lot!
It's currently 59F ,15C Sunshine to start, then a few afternoon clouds. Near record high temperatures. High 81F,27C.. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
    Happy Halloween!

I think we're going to our granddaughter's preschool Halloween parade this afternoon. I have a massage appt this morning, thank goodness.

    Currently 63F with a high of 77F.
We only had 6 kids for trick or treat. I am bringing the rest of the candy to work.
Vix-Your skull looks like it is smiling. :)
Ed-I hope the demo went well.
Irene-Did you get to vote? Charlie wants to wait until Election day to vote, so I guess I will too.
I am working today to cover the manager's day off.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday!

We have 17 (C) clear, mostly sunny degrees with an expected cloudy high of 24 and 36% chance of precipitation.

The demo went well, and our big boss was very pleased with it. Now we have to continue to flesh out the product. There are still quite a few minor bugs, and a couple of major ones to look into.

I love the clay skull. It's not scary to me but might be to a child.

I have an appointment this afternoon for my covid shot.

Irene, hope the voting went well.
Jo, I know!!! I guess it's smiling because I was making it for my grandson and the clay refused to look scary. πŸ˜‚ We didn't have many kids either, about 20-30. We usually get at least 100. I guess I'll bring most of the leftover candy to the Sr Center or see if my kids want any of it for work or to send to school with the little ones. Don't work too hard.
Ed, glad the demo went well. Good to get your covid shot. I don't think the scull scared anyone, not even the little kids, guess I'll try again next year. πŸ˜‚πŸ’€
It's currently 65F , 18C. Chance of a morning shower. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 77F, 25C. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Really warm couple of days. Cooling down a bit after today.
I have a load of laundry in the wash, need to do a little cleaning , may do some baking or work on some hobbies, will see what the day brings.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!

We have 16 (C) foggy degrees with an expected cloudy high of26 and 4% chance of precipitation.

I'm definitely feeling that Covid vaccine, but that's not unusual for me. I scheduled for a Friday so I'd have the weekend to recover.

Yesterday was a very full day. Probably because of her painful gingivitis, Dinah had not eaten for a couple of days so I syringe fed her some canned food at lunchtime, thinned a bit to make it easy to put through the syringe. I called the vet and asked about options, and they prepared me some gabapentin pain medicine for her, that I was able to pick up shortly before they closed. And they got her blood work results back late in the day. Mostly OK but some pancreas readings were a bit off, and lipids a bit high.

Most importantly, once they had reviewed that they were willing to schedule her dental work for Monday, so I have to drop her off first thing in the morning on Monday and pick her up at the end of the day. I told the doctor that they could pull any teeth they deemed necessary without calling me to verify.

Hopefully all that will go well and my happy little kitty will be OK.

Dinah did eat a little food voluntarily this morning and will hopefully eat more today. I gave her the pain medication about 9 last night and again about 9 this morning. I'll be putting out fresh food in a few minutes.

Then I may go back to bed shortly after that. We'll see.

Aw, poor Dinah! I'm glad the pain medication seems to be helping and that they can take care of her on Monday. And I hope you feel better quickly after your shot. I'm lucky, only get a sore arm.

Well DST didn't help at all. Still up early, not getting any extra sleep.
It's currently 37F, 3C. Mostly sunny. High near 60F, 16C. Winds light and variable.
Time is flying by. I didn't do much yesterday, swept the deck, spent some time enjoying the sun and reading on the porch.
    Nothing special planned for today.
Wishing all a peaceful Sunday. β˜•πŸŒžπŸ‚πŸ•ŠοΈ

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!

We have 18 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 20 and 10% chance of precipitation.

The cats really didn't let me sleep in, so that extra hour didn't happen for me. I still have a few manual set clocks to reset and change batteries for.

I skipped a party yesterday that I had wanted to attend, but I was feeling icky, but not as bad as prior years, probably from the Covid vaccine. And Dinah was a bit out of it, probably a side effect of her pain medicine. She was pretty much hanging out with me all day, and she ate all her wet food yesterday without any of it being fed to her, so it's working.

Jason went to the party and I just sat on the sofa most of the day with the cats, finishing the main setup of my new to me (refurbished) Macbook Pro (2019). Not the latest and greatest model but the price was right and it is a major upgrade from my old 2009 model that was still trucking along despite not supporting the latest operating systems, with many programs also not updateable since their updates required later operating systems. I may repurpose that old Macbook as a Linux system and see how it does for that.

Today I have groceries to get. I feel better, though my left arm is still terribly sore from the shot.

Breakfast was leftover cashew chicken from Friday night. Lunch may be kielbasa. We'll see.

Vix-I didn't do much yesterday either. I watched Christmas movies on the hallmark channel.
Today is reviewing insurance info for open enrollment. It is that time of year again.
Only 6 more weeks until my vacation.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!

We have 15 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 19 and 38% chance of precipitation.

Irene, I didn't get sick enough from the shot to really worry about. Prior years were worse. I think maybe the body learns to adjust after a few years of shots. Being a little sick for a day beats being REALLY sick for much longer as a really possible alternative, in my book.

I dropped an unhappy, hungry Dinah at the vet for her dental work. I should be able to pick her up after work.

We have 16 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 24 and 17% chance of precipitation.

Dinah had several teeth pulled and was really a bit out of it when I picked her up yesterday. She ate all of her wet food over the course of the evening, and was looking for more early this morning, which I had already sneakily put in her bowl, so as not to associate that food with normal 9:30 feeding time.

Orion wouldn't stop meddling with her, probably because she smelled funny from the vet. Things seem a bit more settled this morning but I haven't seen Orion for a while. But I have also not heard any fussing cats!

    Almost time for work.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

We have 20 (C) clear degrees with an expected cloudy high of 23 and 24% chance of precipitation.

Dinah and Orion are still at odds, but hopefully as she heals and starts grooming better, she'll smell less like the veterinary office and they can be friends again. Yesterday was better. Some hissing but no major scuffles. I think he just doesn't realize she's still hurting and doesn't want to play yet.

Jason is off to Florida for a quasi-vacation. Our ex-roommate, David, is going down to, hopefully, settle things with his dying, somewhat estranged father. Jason is moral support and can hopefully keep David from signing any papers he shouldn't.

Glad the election is over. We'll see how everything is after the dust settles.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 19 (C) foggy degrees with an expected mostly cloudy high of 23 and 6% chance of precipitation.

Jason and David made it to the hotel in Florida. Hope the weather holds for them and David can get things all settled with his father. This is not likely to be the vacation that Jason really wanted or needed, but I'm sure he can manage to have some fun along the way, and they already stopped at some retro gaming stores in Gainesville, Florida on the way down. At least it gets him away from his desk for a while.

The cats got into it briefly at 1:15 this morning, but I checked on them and they were fine so I persuaded Orion to come to bed with me and Dinah did her own thing for the rest of the night. I didn't hear any more yowling so guess there were no issues. I think I'll lock them both in the master suite with me tonight so I don't have to stumble sleepily to the other end of the house for any necessary intervention.

Well, it's a work day and I'm switching between computers so best switch back to the one I'm being paid to look at.

We have 19 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 26 and 3% chance of precipitation.

With both cats locked in the master suite with me, there was a little growling in the middle of the night, but that was Dinah, who had been sleeping next to me in the bed. When I did turn the light on Orion was nowhere to be seen, but I suspect he was wanting to lay on the bed with us and she warned him off. Or, she could have just been having a bad dream. At any rate I went back to sleep and there were no further issues during the night and none so far this morning. Dinah is mostly very good at avoiding him or keeping ahead of him when she tries.

Last day of work this week. It's been a long one.
