Happy Monday from here too! Much warmer today although quite cloudy. No rain expected though. I finished my cardio for the day. Yippee! I have been hunting for a gift for that 2 year old. Everything that the grandma sent on the birthday wish list is for children age 3 and up. Nope, I am not purchasing age inappropriate gifts, I don’t want the child to possibly get hurt. Lots of things are for age 3+ so next year! There are board books but I don’t know what he already might have. Wish the mom had put together a wish list. She could suggest wanted books perhaps.
Sandy, the pumpkin patch sounds like loads of fun as well as lots of steps for you! A busy week for you and wow, casino time already! Wahoo…..
Jackie, wow, a shift in the weather when sitting outdoors can turn your feet to ice cubes. I hope it didn’t take too long to get warm and cozy. I am impressed that George and Brady were asleep quickly. Am looking forward to our shift back and away from daylight savings time. I get up in the morning and it is dark long after I have dressed and made my way downstairs. My neighborhood had a get together to watch a scary movie. Eeeck! No thank you. It looked like they had some folks that joined in.
Well, back to my little chores. I am hunting for several different birthday cards. Not happy with the ones I have chosen. One that I sort of like needs a foiled greeting to finish off what’s there. Must see if I have more of that type of foil and a greeting of the correct size.
Do take care everyone.
I heard from a friend today who had the cornea replacement surgery. She said it was a success and can now see from that eye. The other eye still needs a replacement but her vision is better than it was. She is pleased.

That’s a fabulous teapot sitting above me!
Thick fog drifted in overnight and took most of the day to drift away again so it was a short, local dog walk in the rain first thing. I’ve been clearing out old clothes, mostly knitted tops to take to the tip and generally enjoying a quiet day. I did phone a carpenter to ask if he could give a quote to build an extra cupboard in my kitchen but he told me he won’t be available until May next year and no point quoting at the moment because prices of materials are constantly increasing. The search continues!
Anne wants to get back to us but I think she wants to settle her health first.
Bedtime for me! 😴

Happy Tuesday! Fasted and went for my blood work this morning. Now I just have to wait for them to call me to schedule my mammogram and bone density tests. I will be glad when I am done for this year.
Tonight going to see Conclave at the movie theatre with Cheryl and Cathy. The tickets are only $6 with free popcorn. First we will go to Cheryl's house for Panera since she had a coupon for free food. I am not sure how she gets all these deals but she gets more stuff free or discounted things then anyone I know.
Jackie, I have to follow you and get rid of some of my clothes, I have some that are so old it is ridiculous.
Sorry about the carpenter, he must be really good if so busy.
Lin, kids today are so advanced that they could probably handle a three year old toy. Why not just give a gift card and let them choose their own gift?
Almost lunch time and I still haven't eaten breakfast. Have a good day.

Good evening. Is that a spooky movie Sandy? I hope you enjoy it. I am with you, how do people get free stuff all the time?
Busy day today and I did get a few things accomplished but really didn’t feel well unhappy sinuses and not enough sleep last night.
I would like to just lie down now but it is Tuesday night with a Live YouTube presentation.
We have storms in the forecast for tomorrow so many towns around here have changed the night for trick or treating from tomorrow to Thursday. Kids have lots of opportunities to wear their costumes now, trunk or treat at churches, 2 malls still have Halloween costume parades with treats, and the regular city evening.
I hope everyone is safe.
See you tomorrow.

Happy Wednesday! Another warm day with temps around 70F. I have a nail appointment at 2:00 today but that is all. I am speaking at meeting tomorrow so will tweak that as well.
Lin, the movie was not spooky. It was about how the cardinals pick a new pope after the death of the current pope. It was okay but had a twist at the end. Our rain is due tonight but they say it will be fine for the trick or treaters tomorrow, just cooler.
Jackie must be busy in her garden again or driving someone somewhere.
Have a good day all.

Hi, hot and humid here today. Guess that’s good for whipping up storms later on. Hope nothing severe hits! Just attended an online class live from an exercise studio in Pennsylvania. She had a great Halloween playlist and the people attending in person were in costumes. She was done up as Pitbull! What fun.
Sandy, sorry, I don’t keep up on new movies, I should have looked it up. Glad your schedule is not packed with errands today.
Jackie, I woke up to news of the horrific flash floods in Spain. In the Valencia area? Hope no relatives or friends were affected.
Back to work, I am close to finishing all the birthday cards needed for November. Time to look ahead to December and I am going to have to pick up the pace.
Be safe everyone.

Hello and happy Wednesday. I was sure I posted yesterday but no sign! I had spent the morning at a garden centre with Linda, first for coffee and cake then a stroll round looking at all their plants. It was sunny and warm and I bought some potted Cyclamen, an interesting Heather and a few Spring bulbs to place into an area I recently cleared.
This morning I woke up to the awful news of storms and floods in Spain so made a WhatsApp call to my brother Bernie to check he was alright because he lives in a single story bungalow and being in a wheelchair, wouldn’t be able to escape if necessary. He is West of Valencia but told me he woke in the night when a storm went through his town but luckily his home is in the hills above the town centre and there is a steep road that takes any rain away so he felt safe enough. He was due to go to a bible class this afternoon at his Pastor’s home and was waiting for a phone call to confirm that would still take place.
George’s groomer visited midday which was as well because he had some knots in the fur on his tummy that I hadn’t been able to brush out. He squirmed so much when I tried but Debbie has a way with him after 10 years visiting us and he’s now looking very cute! Apart from an early trip to a supermarket tomorrow I will hopefully plant my new purchases then continue with more tidying outside while our warm weather continues. Halloween isn’t big around here so no sign of ghoulish creatures! 👻
Stay safe dear friends. It’s unsettled times in all sorts of ways! Midnight so I am off to bed!

A cooler day with a lot of high clouds but it’s pleasant enough. I’ve had a busy morning with shopping in town, a walk on the moors amongst the sheep with George and Betty, then on to the farm supply store. I had skipped breakfast so of course by this time was feeling hungry and picked up a Cornish sultana cake, pasty and a reduced sausage roll but little in the way of pet products, in other words all the wrong sorts of food when I am trying to maintain a healthy weight! The pasty was delicious with a small tomato from my greenhouse and I will now spend a couple of hours in my garden before my usual cup of afternoon tea, no doubt adding a slice of Sultana cake!
Enjoy the day and stay safe.

Happy Thursday! Speaking at meeting today, then meeting with sponsee before picking up some groceries at Walmart. John and Laurie come tomorrow afternoon so I want to be organized before they get here. Tomorrow is a holy day so will be going to Mass at noon and then again Saturday for regular Sunday service. I will have laundry to do tomorrow and packing on Saturday. Laurie will be going to classes so they really won't miss me when I leave on Sunday morning.
Jackie, I am sure with all the walking and gardening you do, you get plenty of exercise and can afford to have a little cake. I thought I was having something healthy last night but ended up going with Cheryl, Marisa and her friend and had pizza at a restaurant. Marisa bought a new motorcycle and although she didn't ride it to the restaurant I saw a picture of it. Not a fan of motorcycles but it is pretty. I am glad your brother is okay and remains that way. I didn't realize he was in a wheelchair. Is he is in his own place?
Lin, we got the rain during the night but it is supposed to clear for the trick or treaters. It is just very windy so hope they don't get blown over. Did you also dress up for the exercise class? The music sounds fun.
Have a good day time to eat something.

Hello. Busy day but I have hit a wall. My sinuses are reminding me that cold and wind are not a treat. Headachy and nauseous. Darn sinuses.
I need to do some cooking and the laundry is piling up again. Lots of books to read. Tons of cards to make but I have trouble working when I feel unwell.
I hope everyone else is doing well.
Sandy, happy casino trip.
Jackie, out in the garden?
We have a forecast of rain possibilities for the next 3 days. None today.
Enjoy the weekend.

Another Friday already and our mini Indian summer continues, in fact we are promised even warmer temperatures next week. After yesterday’s busy start I decided to let George and Betty lie in while I eat my breakfast, then drove to the moors and took us up to the top, then back down the other side where the dogs love to zoom because downhill is definitely much easier. Having picked the last of my tomatoes it was time to empty the containers and tidy my greenhouse which took most of the afternoon. Not much else going on as I try my best to ignore the news and live in my bubble. I did receive an order of expensive face creams and toner and hope to be able to report very soon that I’m looking 20 years younger! 😁
Sandy, I’m of the same opinion on motorbikes. I don’t see the attraction and some of our narrow roads can be dangerous in a car, never mind 2 wheels! My brother lives in a rented property that isn’t designed specifically for wheelchairs so doorways are narrow and kitchen cupboards too high. He can pull himself up to stand at a counter to reach the lower shelves but generally plans what he might need with a carer that visits 3 days a week and she places items within reach. He likes the location in a small town because it is close to his church.
I’m sorry you aren’t feeling good Lin. It doesn’t sound as if your weather is helping either. Do take care of yourself. That is a very pink teapot!
Snoring dogs in their beds tell me it’s time for mine.

Happy Saturday! Laurie and John came yesterday, we had a nice dinner at Wildfire. This morning Laurie went to her sewing class and John and I went to watch Max's soccer game. I am packing soon and going to mass at 5 and then out to PF Chang's for dinner. I will be leaving tomorrow around 9:15am to meet my friends to drive to the casino. One of of our ladies does the driving so I just leave my car at their place. I will be gone until Tuesday so not sure how much I will be checking in. So enjoy your next few days.
I hope you are feeling better Lin and Jackie enjoying your Indian summer.

Another day of long dog walks and gardening. More cloudy and a bit cooler than of late but only a little drizzle late afternoon when it was getting dark.
Have a safe journey Sandy. Hello Lin!

Hello, I am in the midst of a 3-day set of classes. Interesting in some ways. I also read one of my library books. It was quite good!
Cold and wet here.
Ready for the time change.
Sandy, have fun !!
Jackie, that photo you posted was very interesting. I have seen few photos of Spain outside of the large cities. You get so much accomplished each day.

It has been dull and chilly most of the day so our doggy walk was shorter, then on the way home I visited Sheila and caught up with her news while George and Betty curled up on her sofa next to her. She is still waiting for her cataract removal procedure because the hospital keeps cancelling but another hospital that will offer her another injection to ease her back pain hopes to book her in soon. This afternoon I have been lazy, catching up with emails and a couple of tv shows.
Happy Sunday and keep warm.

Weather here is overcast and drizzly again today. I guess this is expected to continue for an additional 2 or 3 days. I watched some of the online classes today, church, and participated in cardio classes. Got a bit of laundry done, crushed boxes, put together my Swiffer Wet Jet and tried it out. Read a part of another book and tried to shop for some groceries and supplies. Didn’t place an order though.
Time to watch a few programs on PBS and have materials to read about an alcohol coloring class which is later this week. I didn’t know when I registered for this class that you are on your own for having images printed by a laser printer on specific types of card stock. Well, I do not have a laser printer and I asked the library if they could make copies for me on card stock if I brought it in. Nope, they will not use different types of paper for patrons. Their paper or forget it. Quite frustrating.
Jackie, Sheila seems to have to wait all the time! Is that the norm these days? Hugs for George and Betty. I hope you have a good day tomorrow.
Sandy, and I hope you are enjoying your time with your friends. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 win, win, win.
See you tomorrow.

Happy Monday!
I am losing but today is a new day.1 -
Monday has been and gone and I’m just heading for bed. A cool rather grey day but ideal for housework after one of our longer walks across the moors. David was leaving as I arrived in the car park and was rather put off by another walker telling him about someone she knew who had passed away during a hip replacement! He worries at the best of times so not the best story to share with him!
How frustrating Lin not to be able to print your cards. No help from your library either! 😠
Our health service is broken after a combination of lockdowns and strikes by doctors and nurses over pay. The whole system needs to be revamped but our new government is just throwing more money at it to be wasted, even after promising they wouldn’t. We know about politicians’ promises!! Sheila’s appointments get postponed regularly and that’s probably due to staff shortages. Hopefully that shouldn’t happen to David because he is using a private hospital that also carries out hip replacement procedures for the NHS and from what I’ve seen, are organised and fully staffed. I love the tea set. Beatrix Potter?
Hang in there Sandy. Hopefully a better day!
Off to bed for me.

Day is done. Another drizzly day but warmer. Same expected tomorrow. Have been exchanging messages with several friends today. One has been going winter clothing shopping and found a few things she is happy with.
Jackie, I heard something about a tax increase? Perhaps I didn’t hear that properly? Income tax, sales tax, property tax or a combo? I am sure trying to straighten out the health services system is an immense task. We have a shortage of medical personnel and facilities in some locations. Investment firms are buying up facilities and selling off assets and closing clinics and hospitals. Sad state of affairs. Any sunshine in your area this week? Oh, and I saw some posts from Dawn French on Instagram talking about M&S Christmas products. She is funny. Love the little fairy tree ornament that looks like her. Is that a real product or just for advertising.
Sandy, wishing you a lucky day. Safe travels if you are returning soon.
Be safe.

Happy Tuesday!😁 Better day yesterday. Leaving for home today. It was fun.

I’m in from my gardening projects because low cloud has drifted in and brought fine, soaking drizzle with it. My electric chainsaw was charged first thing and I’ve cut up all the branches that had collected cover the past few dry days and they will be added to next year’s store. Once I’ve finished a cup of tea I will prepare a spicy chicken and chorizo dish before putting my feet up.
Safe journey Sandy. If you broke even that’s winning as far as I’m concerned.
That teapot did make me laugh Lin because it could be the orange man!! I gather it will be a very close result but hopefully no trouble. On this side of the pond, a majority didn’t bother to vote so because of our ridiculous system we have been left with an unpopular band of politicians who in spite of promising they wouldn’t, are raising every kind of tax. After just 3 months our PM is the most unpopular in history for all sorts of reasons I can’t mention here!
I will email you a link to Dawn French’s M&S commercial with the funny fairy that’s been in previous ads. She lives not far from me although I’ve only spotted her once, in a different supermarket!
I had better prepare my casserole and get it in the oven. Anne’s 2nd eye op tomorrow so I’ll send her our love. She had another fire alarm incident the other day but no fire, just decorators in a hallway setting one off. Exciting times for her and little Jilly Bean!

Hello. Yes, another wet and sort of miserable day. I did go to the grocery store that sells my favorite veggie mix. Unfortunately their supply truck had not arrived and they didn’t know where it was so I didn’t end up with much. Drove by the library to pick up more books. I did get some cardio done today and spoke to a friend on the phone. She took a fall in her home and ended up with a concussion. She didn’t confirm that with a doctor’s visit but she was a nurse before she retired and has suffered several prior concussions so she was quite certain. Nice conversation although much was about her accident. Watched a long YouTube Live this evening. Very good project.
Jackie, I found all of the Dawn French M&S ads from prior years (at least all I could find). Very nice! I watched the Vicar of Dibley show regularly and thought her quite funny. The little tree ornament is cute but that must have been from a while ago. There were several on eBay and were sold. Well, you are experiencing wet weather too. It sounds just like what we had this morning. Thanks for sending along our best wishes to Anne.
I have no idea how this election will ultimately sort out. I saw a few interviews where people being interviewed said they were disgusted and decided in the end to just not vote.
Sandy, hope you are home safely.

Happy Wednesday! A very sad day for me and in my opinion for America. Sorry if I offend anyone I just am so depressed over this election.

Happy Thursday! Busy day. Walked Cheryl's dog before meeting, then met with sponsee before going back to walk dog again. Then I went to the bank and CVS to pick up a prescription. I booked my trip to Memphis for Thanksgiving and will be happy to see my great granddaughter from Hawaii along with her parents. My life is full but I love it.
Have a good evening and like Lin, I hope we hear good news about Anne.

Another busy day that began with a long walk. I’m trying my best to retain strength in my legs by choosing routes that take me up hills and do feel better for it. Halfway this morning I did struggle on a particularly steep section and felt pleased with myself when I got to the top, especially when I noticed George and Betty run when they saw it was going to be downhill from that point! I had a hair appointment at midday and luckily I had given a few extra minutes for the journey because there was a car accident on a local bypass that meant traffic being detoured on to our narrow roads. It was still busy two hours later after my appointment and shopping for groceries but finally made it home in time for a phone call from a friend. She had been to an exercise class recommended by her GP because she has been struggling to maintain balance and that has left her without any confidence when walking. We talked until evening and time to cook.
Anne is home after her 2nd cataract procedure but I’ve so far only had one short message to say her eye was painful and vision blurry but that was last night so hopefully it was only eye drops causing it. I will have time tomorrow to message her to find out how she is. Bedtime right now.
Take care.

I am emerging from a two week black hole of having a terrible cold (the first one in many years) compounded by Jake having the same cold and having to call 911 three times for heart related issues, which included going to the hospital twice, once overnight. He came home with the directions to take it easy and not bend over. Finally my cold is almost over, his cold his almost over, and he can move about enough to do the laundry and build a fire in the woodstove. Thanks to his friend, we have much smaller hunks of wood so it's easier to build the fire. Annie is more settled now that Jake is home and behaving normally. I still managed to walk 10,000 steps a day but a lot of chores got ignored. I've been reading every day, but not commenting.
Barbie1 -
Happy Friday! Laundry is started and groceries will be ordered soon. I finally have a day to stay home and love it.
Barbie, sorry to hear both you and Jake were ill. How scary to have to call 911 three times. I did that a few times with Babe and always asked them to come with no sirens. I hope both of you are feeling better and can get back to your normal activities. Even sick you are a trooper and get your steps in, good for you.
Jackie, while the dogs ran down the hill did you just roll? lol Remember when we did that as kids?
I hope Anne's second surgery works for her with no complications and she can return to us one day.
Nothing much going on today I will catch up on my computer, some shows and ride my bike. My kind of day. Enjoys yours.

I’ve enjoyed another dry day with walking George and Betty then work in my garden. It was cold first thing so I lit the main stove in my dining room and occasionally popped inside to warm up and also stare at my latest jigsaw puzzle that I’m struggling with. It’s circular with unusual shapes that occasionally just sit next to each other rather than clip into a shape so my poor brain hurts!
Anne messaged this afternoon and is doing well. “I’ve still got blurry vision but much improved and I’m so incredibly grateful because I was close to being blind. Have to go next week for yet another check, but I’m doing exactly as I’m told - which is a change for me! Honest if I had Musks wealth I’d give the lot to Dr. Bindlish! He’s in his early sixties maybe and how many folk must he have saved their sight! The nurse kept asking me questions before surgery and seeing I could answer all and was fully alert I got a double dose of pain killer or whatever it is, but still heard all that was said! Funny really because I have similar problems with dentists.”. I sent a short reply because I want her to rest her eyes but of course told her you are asking after her and send love.
Sandy, there are times I think I would love to roll back down the hills I climb LOL. Too many cow pats, if you know what I mean!! Enjoy your day at home.
Barbie, sorry to read you and Jake have endured a rough time. There are certainly some nasty bugs about. Take care of yourselves.
Betty is barking to go out and my battery is on 8% so I’ll open the back door for both dogs then head for my bed.
