    good morning
Ed, I'm sure you'll be glad when the felines get back to normal. 😺
    Hi Jo and Irene.
I did some shopping for the grands yesterday, and I received my Amazon and TJMaxx orders. So I have the birthday presents for our granddaughter's 1st birthday on the 18th, and some holiday presents for all three. I ordered a blazer for myself, but will return that. It's much duller than I expected and I don't want to look drab right now. πŸ˜‚
It's currently 44F, 7C. A good deal of sunshine. High 58F, 14C. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph. Nice Autumn weather.
No special plans. Will see what today brings.
Wishing all a wonderful weekend. πŸŒžπŸ‚πŸ·πŸ•ŠοΈ

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!

We have 19 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 20 and 9% chance of precipitation. Sounds pretty dismal.

I could get out for groceries today but will probably wait until tomorrow. It looks to be about as dismal as today, but cooler.

The cats did well overnight. This morning there was some scuffling just before breakfast, but when they are hangry, that isn't too abnormal. They were trapped in the master suite with me again. I will probably do that again tonight.

David's father peacefully passed away in his sleep yesterday. David is taking it as well as possible. It almost seems that his father was just waiting to see David, and once that was done, he was free to move on. His lung cancer had spread to the brain, but he was lucid enough, off and on, to know that David was there, and to thank Jason for bringing him and helping him when David lived with us.

Their hotel reservation is paid up so they won't be rushing back, and David's flight from Atlanta isn't until Wednesday so they will keep busy and maybe have some fun, if possible, while still there. David is not needed, apparently, for much in the way of estate stuff as his father's significant other, Denise, will be taking care of that. Don't know if the funeral will happen before he comes back or not, but the travel plans are pretty firm, I think. He and his father were not close, so don't know if he even wants to be at any service for him. We'll see. He lost his mother quite a few years ago, so is now an orphan with some extended family left.

Definitely not the vacation Jason really needed but he is getting some fun shopping done.

Dinner yesterday was a cheeseburger, baked beans, and some potato crisps.

Breakfast was some cream of wheat, with a little brown sugar, butter, and cream, along with a banana and some heated up Spam. A small serving of orange juice washed it all down.

Ed, it's good that David got to say goodbye to his Dad. Nice of Jason to go with him for support. Glad that the cats are doing better.
Irene, glad you're enjoying the weather. It's been really nice for now.
    Hi Jo.
I returned that blazer yesterday and picked up a book at the library, enjoyed some outdoor reading time. Seem to be keeping busy around the house for now.
It's currently 48F, 9C. Showers this morning, becoming a steady rain during the afternoon hours. High 58F, 14C. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!

We have 13 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 15 and 31% chance of precipitation.

I do need to get some shopping done today. Not a lot on the list, but what is on the list is important. I'll do my best to keep this shopping trip short.

I have some laundry to fold, but just sheets and towels. I could start doing some housecleaning too, but may wait a bit on that.

    Good morning;
Currently 56F and cloudy. We had rain overnight.
I have to pick up flea meds for Sam. It is a once a month application and I forgot to pick it up
when we were in for a check up. I usually get a 6 month supply. It is less expensive that way.
I am cooking a roast beef with mashed potatoes, gravy and julienne carrots for dinner tonight.
I have everything prepped and ready to cook later today.
    Have a great day! :)

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!

We have 14(C) foggy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 22 and 15% chance of precipitation.

Jason and David decided that, with everything taken care of, they could come back early so arrived about 1:00 this morning. The cats mostly behaved, with just one tiff shortly after I got up but they have been fine since then. Orion is still too aggressive for her taste, but he's always been a bit aggressive. While she will retreat sometimes, rather than assert herself as much as I might prefer, she won't put up with too much nonsense.

At least I got a good enough night's sleep that wasn't interrupted by any cat fights.

Dinner last night was spaghetti and meatballs. Breakfast this morning was biscuits and Spam.

Well work is on, so back to it.

    good morning all
Hi Irene, I've been reading about the fires in NJ. There's a big one where we used to live (West Milford). I hope they're far enough away from you that you're safe and relatively smoke free.
Jo, your dinner sounds like a treat.
Ed, glad Jason and David made it back safely. Sounds like the kits are getting back to normal. Spaghetti and meatballs is total comfort food to me. Yum.
We made a casserole last night, eggplant, ground turkey, onions, some pasta, and cheese. Also comfort food! I made some roast squash the other night that was delicious and have plenty of that left over. We really don't need to cook for a couple of days!
It's currently 56F,13C. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High near 70F, 21C. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Another beautiful day.
    Celebrate our veterans today.

    Scam of the Week

    The Fake TSA Precheck Email

Many air travelers turn to TSA PreCheck for its quickness and ease. TSA PreCheck is a US airport screening program that allows you to get through airport security with fewer steps and without waiting in long lines. But cybercriminals take advantage of this tool to trick travelers. In this scam, you receive an email that appears to come from TSA PreCheck. The email encourages you to enroll or renew your membership and provides a link to what looks like the official TSA PreCheck website.

The website promises you can skip the long security lines at the airport by paying a fee. However, this website is a fake version of the real TSA PreCheck website. If you enter any money or financial information here, the scammers will be able to see it immediately. The benefits you buy from the fake website will not work at any airport. Worst of all, the cybercriminals have stolen your sensitive information and money!

Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to a phishing scam:

This particular scam targets US air travelers, but remember that this type of scam can be used for other organizations as well. Always be cautious before clicking on unexpected emails.

Be wary of requests to pay a fee right away. Cybercriminals will try to pressure you into acting quickly.

When you first enroll in the actual TSA PreCheck, you pay in person, not online. Also, real Transportation Security Administration (TSA) emails never contain direct payment links. When in doubt, contact the TSA directly.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!

We have 11 (C) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 23 and 6% chance of precipitation.

Another day, another dollar. Or at least, hopefully, 50 cents. Nothing critical on the agenda for today, other than getting the garbage and recycle bins out to the curb before I go to bed, so they'll already be out in the morning when they come looking for them.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

We have 11 (C) clear degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 17 and 1% chance of precipitation.

Jason has driven David to the airport so he can fly back to Kentucky where he lives

I forgot to get the garbage and recycles out last night as we had gone out to a big used and new bookstore, and then to Bad Daddy's Burger Bar for dinner. I had an Old Fashioned for a cocktail, then a delicious patty melt with home made potato chips. We shared a dish of deep fried deviled eggs and then we shared a dish of store made banana pudding for dessert.

So we all got up early this morning, me to get the bins to the curb before 7, David and Jason to head to the airport. Jason should be back home from the airport in a while and he may go back to bed then.

Nothing critical on the agenda today, other than whatever work throws at me. Since my boss is still off until tomorrow, hopefully that won't be too bad.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 9 (C) rainy degrees with an expected rainy high of 13 and 100% chance of precipitation.

Indeed a lovely day to stay inside and warm.

Dinner last night was pizza from the freezer. My leftover pizza will be my lunch today.

Breakfast was oatmeal, a banana, juice, and warmed up Spam. Yes, I eat too much Spam.

Jason will be back to work today. At least he got to do a few fun things on his short vacation.

Irene-I am waiting for the neighbor's trees to finish dropping their leaves. Most of the branches hang
    over into our yard.
We have not been able to burn for the past two weeks, too dry. Hubby will probably end up taking

We're lucky here, our town comes around to pick up yard waste about once a month, so we just have to bag it up and get it to the curb.
I made myself a todo list today, some cleaning, wrap Maddie's presents, catch up on paperwork, etc.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!

We have 6 (C) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 20 and 3% chance of precipitation.

Needless to say, the heat was on when I arose. Dinner last night was, for me, a can of beef stew with biscuits on the side. Jason eventually made some Asian egg thing.

Breakfast was a banana, orange juice, and sausage biscuit sandwiches.

That felt like a really long work week and I want a lazy day today.

    Scam of the Week

    From Tickets to Email Trickery

If you recently bought a ticket to a local event, you may have used Eventbrite’s website or smartphone app.

Eventbrite is an online platform that allows you to create, promote, and attend events. But cybercriminals are abusing this platform to steal your personal information and money. In this week’s scam, cybercriminals use Eventbrite to set up a fake event and then email you an invitation.

The Eventbrite email invitation contains realistic logos and brands, and it appears to be legitimate. But if you select the link within the email, you will be taken to a fake webpage that is actually controlled by cybercriminals. The webpage will prompt you to enter personal data such as your login information, tax identification number, and even your credit card number. The cybercriminals are trying to steal your personal details and funds!

Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to a phishing scam:

Be wary of emails that urge you to take quick action. Phishing emails are designed to catch you off guard and trigger you to act impulsively.

Never select a link in an unexpected email. In this case, it would be best to navigate to Eventbrite’s official website or smartphone app if you have concerns about tickets you’ve purchased.

If you aren’t sure if an email you received is legitimate, contact Eventbrite’s customer support directly to verify.
