    good morning
Ed, sounds like work is busy. Good luck with the odd issues.
Congrats on getting your gifts wrapped, Irene. I haven't done that yet, still more to get. Maybe I'll start wrapping today.
I hope Jo had a nice flight, and enjoys her vacation to the fullest.
It's currently 36F, 2C. A mix of clouds and sun this morning followed by some light rain this afternoon. High around 50F, 10C. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
I'm working on a stained glass project with 50 pieces to cut out, so I'm just doing a lot of cutting and grinding for a while. I brought it home so I can foil the pieces I've already cut. We won't be having the workshops for the next 2 weeks because of the holidays. My clay piece cracked again while drying, so I repaired it, and molded a few bowls.
Will see what today brings. Wishing everyone a happy 🐪 day. ☕🌤️🎄🍷🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday!

We have 10 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 21 and 49% chance of precipitation.

I'm ready for cooler weather to stay, but guess I'll just have to deal with what there is.

    Work beckons.

    Good morning all
Ed, cooler weather is setting in here.
It's curremtly 36F, 2C. Partly cloudy this morning, then becoming cloudy during the afternoon. High 43F. 6C. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph.
I started wrapping gifts yesterday, played with the kiddos a little, not much else. My leg is bothering me, need to remember to take NSAIDS for a few days.
Will see what the day brings, maybe some more wrapping, maybe some shopping?
Wishing all a fine Thursday. 🌤️☕❄️🎄🕎🍷🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 7 (C - feels like 4) cloudy degrees with an expected partly cloudy high of 15 and 3% chance of precipitation. Looks like a cooling trend over the next few days.

We have a few complex things to test and I'll be trying to work on those today and tomorrow.

For Thursday throwback, here I am with my oldest brother, Steve, in November 1984.
I was 25 years old. I'm the redhead in the plaid shirt.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday!

We have 2 (C - feels like -1) sunny degrees with an expected mostly sunny high of 12 and 2% chance of precipitation.

I should get some laundry started. The never ending task!

Today is my last scheduled workday for the year. The next two weeks will be staycation and I will do my best to remain disconnected from work stuff. I can catch up on smarmy old holiday movies and try to walk more. I've only watched one version of A Christmas Carol so far this year. Usually I've watched several by now, and I haven't watched It's a Wonderful Life either!

Supper last night was chili. Breakfast this morning was biscuits and sausage gravy.

    Work beckons.

    good morning all
Irene, I have stained glass pieces hanging in my windows, lots of windows! I also made a lot of suncatchers for gifts. I am giving 12-15 for the holidays this year.
Ed, yay for time off. I love old Christmas movies. My favorite was the original Miracle on 34th St.
My leg was bothering me and then yesterday, I hurt my knee playing with the kids, so I'm sitting here with ice on my knee and will skip exercise for a couple of days.
I still have gifts to wrap and presents to buy, so I'll see if maybe I/we can get out later.
It's currently 34F, 1C. Cloudy. Temps nearly steady in the mid to upper 30s, 0-4C. Winds light and variable. Cold and gray.
Wishing all an easy Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead. ☕☁️❄️🎄🕯️🕎🍷🕊️

Irene, I'm partial to homemade gifts, I think people put a lot of love into them. So when I give them, it's like giving a hug that lasts.
Ed, yay for time off and R&R!
My knee was pretty painful yesterday and I didn't do much of anything. On Thursday I called my pain Dr and was able to make an appt for the day after Christmas.
It's currently 31F, -0.5C. Snow showers this morning. Becoming partly cloudy later. High 33F, +0.5C. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Higher wind gusts possible. I saw a few snow flurries this morning, but it seems pretty clear now.
We're going to try to get out today to get some last minute shopping done.
Wishing all a wonderful weekend. ☕🌤️❄️🕯️🎄🕎🍷🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!

We have 2 (C - feels like -2) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 9 and 1% chance of precipitation.

We have a holiday party to (probably) attend tonight. I haven't decided for sure what to make but may make a small dish of baked beans. On the other hand, I could just bring a Trappist monk fruitcake that I'm not at all sure I want to eat all of by myself. Jason won't eat any, and I really just want a taste. I could make baked beans and bring the fruitcake as well!

The main dish is supposedly sandwiches. Whether that means pre-made from a deli or DIY assembly from a selection of breads, meats, and cheeses, I don't know. I feel sure there will be plenty of chips, probably potato salad, and who knows what all else available as sides.

I got two loads of laundry done yesterday, all the way through to folded and put away.

    good morning
Hi Irene and Jo (hope you're having a great vacation!)
Ed, hope you had fun at the holiday party.
It's currently 22F, -6C. Sunny. Very cold. High 28F, -2C. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph. BRRR.
We went out yesterday and I picked up a few more gifts. Pretty much set. Will pick up some wine and another gift card before Wednesday. Some of the gifts I ordered have been delayed, so they will be given later.
I will do some things around the house and get the gifts wrapped today. My knee/leg is still bothering me. So that's it.
Wishing all a peaceful Sunday. Stay warm. ☕🌞❄️🎄🕎🎁🍷🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!

We have 2 (C - feels like -1) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 8 and 1% chance of precipitation.

I ended up just bringing the fruitcake to the party. There was plenty of food and baked beans were really not needed. The fruitcake was a hit and only crumbs were left. I had a slice as soon as I got it set up, then did my usual party duty of helping keep food organized.

Three people brought shrimp cocktail platters. I had opened the first one when it came in, and stuck the other two in the refrigerator to stay cold.

The first (it was a big platter) got mostly eaten and I threw 10 or less shrimp away after that one "timed out" as I had noted what time it arrived and kept an eye on it for food safety purposes.

I then brought out the second, much smaller platter and it got all eaten up but by then the third (medium large platter) wasn't needed because the party was wrapping up. One of the hosts said if the person who brought it didn't claim it, they'd eat it for Christmas. That would be a nice extra Christmas dish for them!

Leftover sandwiches were sent home with any guest who wanted them, so at the end they were all gone.

I had a great time, saw a lot of old friends, met a few new friends who seemed to fit right in with the group, and I ate way too much food, but I was on my feet for most of the party so burned a lot of calories.

There was a White Elephant gift giving in the middle of the party. I did not participate but enjoyed watching the fun.

The hosts had the hot tub going in the back, for those prepared to use it, and all the guests knew in advance that it would be available, and a bonfire going in the back yard as well. I hung out for a bit at the bonfire, but not too long. The side facing the fire would get too hot and the other side of my body would get cold, so after about 15 minutes of pretending to be a rotisserie chicken, I went back inside. By that time, I had seen that a few more people had arrived and went back to the main party room to check on the food.

This was the fruitcake that I bought for the party. Expensive, at $27.99 for a 16-ounce loaf, but very nice fruitcake. A small slice was enough for anyone.
