We loved Wicked, but then we loved the stage musical so had high hopes for the movie. We had both read the book when it came out so we've covered all the bases on that title! Well, we will have when Wicked, Part 2 comes out and we see that movie too.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday!

We have 9 (C) degrees with rain with an expected rainy high of 15 and 99% chance of precipitation.

Sounds like a dreadfully dreary day.

Still need to get that laundry started.

    good morning all,
Ed, glad you enjoyed the movie. I'll look for it when it comes out on TV. Sometimes the book will spoil the movie for me, not always. I haven't read that one either. It does sound like a dreary day ahead.
    Hi Jo and Irene.
Josh, Alyssa, and Maddie stopped by yesterday and cheered up our day considerably. They are all so sweet, and Maddie is a joy. She's running all over the place, gorgeous smile, cute baby noises (and a couple of words), and she loves to wave or clap or dance.
I also made a yummy pot of butternut squash soup.
It's currently 47F, 8C, already looks rainy. Periods of rain. High near 50F, 10C. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 100%.
I'm meeting up with a couple of friends for lunch. Haven't seen them in about a year, so should be fun to catch up.
Wishing all a bright shiny new week, though it looks like a couple more days of rain in the forecast.

    Good morning;
It is currently 37F with a high of 47F and the sun is out.
I made beef stew in the crock pot yesterday. There is enough left for another couple of meals.
Vix-enjoy your lunch and catching up with your friends.
    Hi Ed and Irene.
I have been to the post office, bank and grocery store this morning. I just have a little housework
to do and the library this afternoon.
    Have a good day! :)

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!

We have 17 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 18 and 99% chance of rain. Another dreary day, but we need the rain so can't really complain.

I just finished writing up a rather complicated error case, and taking a moment to sip tea and contemplate the next test.

The dishwasher is running. I still need to get that laundry started too. LOL.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful wind Wednesday!

We have 8 (feels like 4) cloudy, windy degrees Celsius with an expected cloudy, windy high of 7 and 15% chance of precipitation. Wind is currently east southeast at 29 kilometers per hour.

When I went to chuck something else into the recycle bin, currently at the foot of the driveway for pickup, there was a cold mist in the air, almost sprinkling but not quite, though the drops in the mist were almost big enough.

Sounds like a pretty miserable day, and a good one to stay inside.

Yesterday I got the laundry washed, dried, and folded. I don't like to leave it in the dryer if it's damp out, as the damp can seep into the dryer through the vent.

Biscuits with sausage gravy for breakfast.

Jo, I hope your Dr appt went well, and that they can help you feel better. Some infections are very hard to get rid of.
Hi Irene. Weather has been warm here for a couple of days, but getting cold again tomorrow,
Ed, sounds like work is keeping you challenged. Good for you for getting the laundry folded. 😂
It was really foggy all day yesterday. Time flies when I'm working on crafts, don't seem to get much done, slow going. I was running late all day and feeling distracted
It was nice seeing my friends on Monday, we had a long lunch, lots of catching up to do!
Another gray rainy day here. It's currently 59F,15C. Morning high of 60F, 16C, with temps falling to near 40, 4C. Winds W at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a half an inch. Locally heavy rainfall possible.
Need to start holiday ops, making my lists, checking them twice. 😂 Also need a trip to the library and P.O. to get stamps, and maybe a mailer envelope.
    Wishing all a happy 🐪 day! ☔☕🍷🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

We have 2 (C) (feels like -2) sunny degrees with an expected sunny high of 12 and 1% chance of precipitation.

The dishwasher is running. Nothing else critical except, of course, work.

We were told to cash in all our points because apparently some employees were abusing the system, and they will be figuring out a different way to do that for the future. We were each given a pool of 1000 points each month that we could gift to other employees for exceptional assistance, etc. Apparently, some cronies had been gifting all theirs to each other to build each others redeemable points up quickly to gain cash awards or a day off more quickly or some such. Managers could also gift their staff members with a lot of points for a day off or an immediate cash prize.

I had been saving my points all along for a day off, but didn't have enough for that. My manager gifted all of his staff with enough points for a $100 bonus just before the cutoff, and along with the points I had amassed I was able to get a nice Christmas bonus of $253 and change after tax, that was deposited into my account overnight last night, separately from my normal pay check.

Yay for Christmas bonus! That's not precluding the possibility that the big boss might still give us a company-wide bonus, but that's not always possible, depending how the company finances look. We'll see but I am happy with my mostly self-earned bonus.

Jo, I hope the 2nd round of antibiotics does the trick.
Irene, i read about the drones in NJ. That's freaky that they don't know what they are. Have you seen them? I think it is concerning and scary.
Ed, nice that you got an end of year bonus. Cool of your manager to spread the love. A little extra at the holidays is always nice.
    It's currently 34F, 1C. Sunny. High 38F, 3C. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Chilly.
I got my holiday cards done yesterday with only a few stragglers, checking on addresses, etc. I'll mail them this afternoon. Presents are another story, still have most of that to do,
I have a massage appointment this morning, looking forward to that for my poor aching body!
I'm glad the sun is shining.
Wishing all a pleasant Thursday. ☕🌞❄️🍷🕊️

    Thursday Throwback!

I don't have a date on this one but it looks like I would have been in my late 30s or early 40s. When I let my hair get that long, I would have natural "Shirley Temple" curls.

    Good afternoon;
It is currently 40F and sunny. We lost 5 sections of our fence with all the wind we had last night.
Ed-Nice that you got a bonus.
Irene-I heard about the drones on the news. Have you seen any?
    Vix-Enjoy your massage.
After work I was out in the yard picking up sticks again. We have quite a pile now. We are going
to leave it for the winter because the birds seem to like it.
    Enjoy your evening. :)

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday the 13th!

Ed, what a fun picture! Looks like you're ready to go out on your fishing boat. ;) I've got curly hair too.
Irene, I hope they figure out those drones soon.
Jo, sorry about your fence, can you put it back up, or does it need to be replaced? Birds and all sorts of little critters like piles of wood. I hope you're feeling better. Almost time for your trip!
My massage was nice yesterday. Always is. I went to the P.O. yesterday and got a bunch of things mailed and then went to Sierra. I had something to return, and I bought a new packable coat. Mine was feeling tight (I REALLY need to lose several pounds!)
It's currently 29F, -2C. Mostly cloudy skies. High 37F, 3C. Winds light and variable.
I need to do some cleaning today, and will see what else the day brings.
Wishing all an easy Friday. ☕❄️☁️🍷🕊️

    Good afternoon;
    Currently 32F, sunny but chilly.
Vix-We are going to replace the fence sections. We put a call into the company that installed
the fence originally. It may be spring before we can get it fixed.
I started packing. There are some things I can't pack until the last minute.
    Hi Ed and Irene.

Jo, good that you could contact the company that installed the fence to replace the pieces. You must be getting excited for your vacation. You're leaving this coming week, aren't you?
    Hi Ed and Irene.
No special plans for today. Will be spending some time with the 2 grandchildren this weekend, we're going to a brunch tomorrow a.m. where they will see a Santa. Should be cute.
It's currently 25F, -4C. Plenty of sunshine. High 37F, 3F. Winds light and variable. A nice cold sunny day.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday!

We have 9 (C) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 13 and 1% chance of precipitation.

Chilly and gray...sounds like a typical late fall day around here.

We went out for Indian food last night. I ate all the good parts of my saag chicken, leaving the bones and quite a bit of gravy, and we ate all the chili garlic naan. We also ate all the green chili paneer appetizer, which was my second choice since the first appetizer I chose was not available last night, for some reason.

So Jason has some leftover paneer tikka masala, and steamed basmati rice for his lunch today. I may open up some Omaha Steaks meatballs for mine. We'll see what I feel like at lunchtime.

Nothing really critical on the agenda for today.

    Hi Jo and Irene.
Looks very gray out this a.m.
It's currently 29F, -2C. Snow showers in the morning will give way to a mixture of rain and snow for the afternoon. High 38F, 3C. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precip 90%.
Wishing all a relaxing Sunday. ☕❄️🌨️🍷🕊️

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday!

We have 6 (C - feels like 3) cloudy degrees with an expected cloudy high of 7 and 46% chance of precipitation.

I need to do some grocery shopping today, but the list is pretty short.

Last night, Jason wanted to go to Micro-Center, a computer and related electronics store, and since there is a nice Korean market next door to it, we popped in there to buy some fruit and a few grocery items. I found some baby bananas and bought some of those. I can never find those anywhere but the Korean groceries or big multinational farmers market.

Then we went to a Japanese restaurant that we like and came home to the waiting cats. We got out early so, for a change, we were getting home at a reasonable hour, about 7:30.

Other than the groceries, nothing critical on the agenda for today. The dishwasher is running.

We had brunch out with our daughter and her 2 children yesterday. Santa was at the restaurant, so the little ones enjoyed that. I had a western omelet with potatoes O'Brien and fruit. It was good, took half home for dinner.
Meeting another friend I haven't seen in a long time for lunch today. I'm sure it'll be fun.

    Scam of the Week

    Paper Jams and Malvertising Scams
If something goes wrong with your printer, you probably search Google to troubleshoot the issue. In this week’s scam, cybercriminals create malicious advertisements, also known as malvertising, on Google and claim to be on a tech support team that can help you with your printer problems. If you click the malicious ad, you are taken to a fake website to install “software” that will assist with troubleshooting. However, the software installation is fake and always displays an error message saying that the installation has failed.

After the failed installation, the website urges you to contact tech support through a phone call or live chat. However, the “tech support” is actually a scammer. If you contact them, they will request remote access to your computer to help you continue troubleshooting your printer. If you allow them to access your computer, they will not fix your printer, but they will be able to steal your personal data!

Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to a malvertising scam:

Anyone, even cybercriminals, can buy ads on Google. Always think before you click.
If you experience technical problems with your personal devices, contact the manufacturer’s official website to troubleshoot.

Never give someone you don't know remote access to your computer. If the issue is work-related, contact your organization’s IT team for help.
