Taking our dog outside helps to get rid of her energy too. If I throw a ball like a "dart" toward the back wall she will chase it but refuses to bring it back. She has chewed up many balls and Frisbees in the back yard.

Yes I give my Cat distractions so she won’t do naughty things.

Did the same with my dogs too. Yes let’s Rate how successful we have been in distracting our fur babies from doing naughty things.

It's alm9st like a rite of passage, being a pet owner who understands she needs to distract her pets into constructive activities!

Sometimes an animal can playfully "bite" their owners to get their attention. Distraction works for that also to avoid pain.

For our dog a "lite" tummy rub makes her relax and sweet as pie. She forgets quickly what she was doing.

Yes, affection is a great way to distract us all! Lol! I'm never late to try that with my pups either, Linda.

A piece of food is a distraction also. Do dogs like "pate"?

Yes, dogs love pate but it is a little too rich for them. They are better off having lean meat instead.

Our dog does not like raw meat but wants it cooked before she will eat it. She probably expects to have a "seat" at the table like a human but that is not allowed.

Yes my Dogs had to have cooked meat, and my cat is been really a rascal as she is trying to sneak anything that Mommy is having, milk based latte, smoothies, and the latest milk in Teas. 😳

My dogs always have cooked meat also. They have learned to keep their noses out of my tea and coffee though! That makes it easy to relax and have a warm drink in my chair.

Yes, sitting in a nice soft chair relaxing, I do not want my animal trying to drink my drink with me. I do not put my "seal" of approval on that activity.

I wonder if people who keep eels as pets have any problems to deal with?

An eel for a pet is not my choice of pets but to each their own opinions. I like to have a pet that I can run my fingers through their hair and "feel" their softness.

Me too Linda, I love stroking my Kitty even though she gets into mischief, but she sure knows when she is doing a No No, just have to look at her and she stops right away. And no thanks Susan, no eels for me! That’s for sure! Haven’t Felt an Eel before but don’t want to, No siree 😳

Lol! I have felt eels in Lakes as they rub against my legs and they are soft, but they could bite so I usually get out of the water as fast as possible! I guess with snow and ice eels wouldn't last long in the melt water?

I am not sure if eels are eaten but if that was all that I had to eat, I would loose weight and would have to tighten my "belt" to adjust for my shrinking waistline.

Oh boy no thanks Marilyn, never Felt eels and I don’t care to either
And Susan that’s right eels would not last in the Melt Ice Water
Linda, I’m with you I would lose mega weight and my Belt would be pulled in Big Time around the waistline, that’s for sure.
My plan is to ring the Bell ever so loudly to scare away the eels so I wouldn’t have to deal with even the thoughts of eating eels, 🤢 🤮

I didn't want to eat eels, only keep them as pets. Lol! They apparently have personalities like Angel Fish do. Divers who visit them in the ocean make friends with them. Sorry I can't sell you on the idea of getting to know some eels!

I did not realize that they can be pets. Our angel fish we had were very aggressive and bit the tails of the other fish. Maybe your angelfish are a little more polite down in Australia. "Tell" us more about these friendly eels.

Wow, personalities like Angel Fish; never heard that before Susan, and sorry but I have to say No Thanks for a “Pet Eel”

Linda yes I think it would be good to have Susan Tell us more about Angel Fish Personalities. However, I “Fell” the idea of having Eels as Pets!

By saying eels are like Angelfish, I meant they have differing personalities like Angelfish do. They are actually pretty shy and timid and only bite if provoked! Other fish even scare them into hiding. I looked up best types of eels to keep in an aquarium and it turns out Snowflake Eels top the list! They are a smaller type of Moray Eel. They do come to know their keepers and beg for food! I have never kept an eel as a pet but thought the idea was Interesting. Sorry it doesn't appeal to you, Judith! Eels like to have little holes to hide in. It reminds me of a cell.

Yes I remember that song, “Farmer in the Dell”

Susan, you have taught me something new. Never heard of Snowflake eels before! Interesting. And good analogy on the Cell!

Any other ideas? We could Call Mr Green Jeans for more ideas?

I always have a ball at marime parks aquariums looking at the fish and coral life there. The Marianas Trench stories fascinate me.

I also like to go to the aquarium to see the fish and I want to take some home. I don't think I could do that though because I forgot to bring a pail with a "bail" to carry them in.

Yes Susan I too have a Ball going to our Aquarium in Stanley Park, always loved watching the Dolphins 🐬 Whales 🐳 and Seals 🦭 especially the Baby Seals with all their antics. So Fun watching them! And Linda I would do the same forgetting to bring a pail with a Bail and Marilyn and yes it would be a no Fail if we did remember to bring our Pail and Bail to the aquarium! Another thing about Dolphins and Whales love watching them Flap their Tails in the Water during their performances!
