    WOW!
    Concept!
    MIND BLOWN!

    (I really SHOULD try it!)
    :

Unless you’re being totally sarcastic- yes you can definitely make your own. Stupid easy if you have a grater blade on your food processor. Cooks in minutes in the nuker or stovetop.

PLUS it’s sooo much cheaper to get raw cauliflower.

    Nope
    Not sarcastic

Me and food processing equipment usually end up with either chunks or humus or guacamole

The lip makes sipping hard but doesn't hinder chewing. I have to use straws off center and utensils carefully but otherwise it's okay. It's still fat and kinda gross and scabby now but doesn't really hurt much at all.

Well, I have two of the four kids at home (the two oldest, ironically enough). She's about 80% moved in, still has a few boxes to unpack and some that won't be (mostly her kitchen stuff).

Back on track, I feel like I keep saying that. I'm weight stable-ish, but want to lose the last 10 or so.

    Today's food:

Coffee with milk and sugar-free syrup.

Fryup with a spritz of non-stick spray, a bunch of chopped mushrooms and some leftover pork tenderloin.

Bowl of strawberries mashed up with zero sugar reddi-whip.

    Chocolate protein milk hazelnut latte.

    Thermos of chai with milk.

Last portion of leftover zucchini lasagna from the freezer with some egg white noodles.

    Key lime yogurt.

Both of these *kittens* produce humus and guacamole or food "paste" as opposed to "rice"d food!

Are you saying it is a USER error as opposed to a DEVICE error??????? :anguished:

Obviously you don’t just dump in the food and run the blade until you get paste. PULSE!

Use the grating blade if you have one is best. iqly9fo3csvg.jpeg

    Or the low tech method

Oh - you do know that you rice RAW cauliflower? THEN cook it afterwards.

    No frozen cauliflower won’t work.

    eeek low tech method!!!

Was I SUPPOSED to have the other blade? Neither of the two "kitchen aids" (they look identical to cuisinards in the store) seem to have any other blades in their general vicinity! Doesn't mean that one never existed, mind you.

    hmmm.....

It doesn't help when you can't figure out the weight of a head of broccoli or cauliflower! Obviously cabbage is cheaper!!!

frozen riced cauli ON SALE is definitely competitive to fresh by the looks of it.

Assuming that a head of cauli yields about 1.5lbs of usable rice (which I understand may be a bit extreme as an assumption as it may be closer to 1lb) it is very close. Head of cauli is about $5 and so is a 500g bag of cauli rice NOT on sale but after some careful buying *cause otherwise up to $5 for 340g only)

Today... 750g of "soup veggies" (literally: veggies for soup). 1.5l water. salt free knorr beef. The flavoring pouches from a couple of "pho" packages (17g powder, 7g oil). Yes, buying the ready to use pho tetrapack would have been the same price as using a couple of noodle packs. BUT, I now have "free" rice noodle packs for using with pasta sauce at another time. I know nothing and admit nothing but the half a pouch of instant mash that was sitting in the cupboard went into the soup too... and I broke down and used one of the two rice noodle pouches in the soup anyway. At least a couple of meals and not even hitting 1000 Cal.

Day 4 of increased resting heart rate, increased night time respiration rate, decreased night time 02 levels and fully tanked HRV. Day 3 in a row of "15" low readiness per fitbit. Stay home and shut up.

Basically resting hr is up TEN from "average" over the past few days. And yes. I even got a warning about going above 100 while inactive and sitting down. :disappointed: And a bit of a fever. OH WAIT: did I mention the terrible scourge that has befallen? YES: a COLD. OYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK: you can all get off the floor now and stop pointing at me. It ain't kind and you're all better people!!

    Take care of your cold!

Yes your food processors probably came with a slicer/shredder blade and a grater blade. Time to look for new -sale priced- equipment.

Supper today - 4 Wasa crackers, 2 wedges of Laughing Cow cheese, and 3 oz. Pork jerky from Costco. I needed protein….
Since radiation ☢️ I’ve been having problems tolerating salad/raw veggies especially in the evening. I’m hoping I can get back to my big salads 🥗 soon.
For now it’s whatever requires no prep. By the end of the day the fatigue catches up with me.

I'm all for low prep -- for other reasons mind you but hey. And whatever works for you.... works for you!

I had pre-supper to match 🤣 lunch was my leftover awesome soup from yesterday good enough I may well make more later. But pre supper was 58g bread and 36g halloumi cheese using a new "make grill cheese in your toaster bag"🤯 ... and it worked!!!!!🤣😂🤷‍♂️😎 Now to figure out how to clean the bag 🤔🤯😡

    Not "feeling" it

"main supper": instant mash using a bit less water and with 200g 0% greek yogurt mixed in and eaten with previously frozen but now miraculously warmed green beans! (miracle performed through the transfer of energy into the water molecules of said beans)
"post supper": 32.5g coffee crisp bar
"post post supper": an exciting variety of "no sugar added" halls drops

Or up to her armpits in work, school and family responsibilities! Mid-life is pretty tough on women. Recalling that time in my own life - it was tough going. BUSY 24/7.

I do admire Nic’s ability to at least give some priority to her own well being 👍 too.

I am watching hockey! Caught the first half of the period on my phone in a rental car, and watching the rest on the ungodly tiny (32", in this day and age) tv in my in-laws living room. I am sitting at least 12 feet from the tiny TV, lol

Let people love 💕 on you Nic! Unfortunately that’s often done with food but fruit bouquets are at least manageable.

Confession- own a 32” TV too. But my room is much smaller. Just can’t get into the huge screens …..

Woops! Sorry Nic and PAV but you both deserve some get well ❤️‍🩹 wishes. Perhaps Nics in-laws made up for the small TV with some tasty dinner? Something that fits in Nics calories?

Hope you’re enjoying the fruit PAV. And the extra love from someone too. Hope you’re feeling better….

    I am... a bit discombobulated.

I mean this is by no means a "serious" cold. Far from it. It's just your base basic **kitten** cold. I can't even say that my nose got fully plugged. Some fever but nothing to write home about. A persistent cough mind you, though not very deep. But yes. some mucus/phlegm what have you.

But I am 'tired" (not the "I can't move tired" but more like the "I don't feel like doing anything" tired) and the metrics are actually showing an appreciable "run down" effect.

"fitbit" resting heart rate has gone up over the past 7 days. From an average of 65 all the way up to a high of 79!!! today. That's a LARGE increase for me. And heart rate variability has TANKED. I mean it is "flatlined" at the bottom of the bottom of the range at a concerning level. OK I've seen a lower number than this for "one day". But never for multiple days in a row! Like a whole week without a single upward rebound.. And "fitbit readiness" is tanked at 15 (low) ALSO for the full week now.

So yeah. Fruit is good. BUT. What the heck hey.

So PAV - have you tested for covid? The tired feeling in particular is a covid symptom. Or were you stressed and tired before the cold which is making it worse now?

Assuming you’ve had your Covid booster, flu shot etc., might be wise to see a doctor. Cause ya know you’re not a spring rooster anymore!

Nah, I had prepackaged deli meat with 2 slices of Cheddar, full-fat mayo and mustard on a big hamburger bun, plus a small bowl of chex mix, lol.

Nah, I've given up feeling shame over food.

Today, tons of walking, did coffee in the morning, coffee and a protein bar at midday and we grabbed bomb Mexican for dinner.

Had a beef tongue taco and a carnitas taco, both on amazing house made blue corn tortillas. The tongue had a spicy smooth guajilla pepper sauce and onions on it, the carnitas had an avocado green salsa, cilantro and onions. Plus I had some house made tortilla chips with a smoky chipotle salsa.

We're gonna catch a movie, saving some room to maybe share a dessert after with the husband :)
