Howβs the cold and HR doing PAV? Is the tachycardia improving?
Resting HR is still 10+ above normal. I think currently 12 above normal. But again I can't think of too many times that Fitbit has gone up or down faster than 2bpm at a time. So there is some curve flattening. As far as I'm concerned last night was an improvement to previous so it shouldn't have continued to go up.As for excess fur - thereβs folks who gather dog fur and knit it into sweaters for humans! Not something Iβd enjoy wearing but hey itβs probably warm and free yarn.Wonder how Nics lip is coming along? And wonder if Laurie is trapped up there in Newfoundland. Her two weeks may be turning into a longer visit. What I don't get is that they appear to not be able to get their local ski hill to be profitable!!!!!!!!!! That one threw me for a loop including that apparently snow making is required!!!! Nic's lip looks scary: but she's a tough one!
Howβs Bellaβs house sale going? Hope they found buyer for her MIL home. And are Dante and CCCGG safe from the recent earthquakes in Greece?
+1 on Bella! She's hiding too much! And I want to find out about her garden! Dante should definitely be sharing more info. Especially if he is hiking around town! And CCCGG is very very safe! I haven't heard any reports to the contrary! Her youngest just passed her university graduation presentation/paper too so she is getting her diploma this summer and mummy is tickled pink!

My lip's improved. Still some swollen and raw, but less gross and scabby. I can feel the stitches now so of course I keep poking them with my tongue, lol.
Today's adventure, we were headed to DC(into National), flight got delayed from 10:05 to 2:08, but we knew early enough that I took a nap and we didn't hit the airport until 1:00pm. We boarded in good time, but didn't take off until closer to 2:45. Then, we fly up, get near, to be told we have to go into a holding pattern for 20-25 minutes. 25 minutes later, we're told we're diverting to Dulles (other area airport). We land at Dulles and sit on the tarmac along with a ton of other planes for about an hour and a half, then they decide they'll let anyone who wants off, while they refuel to go back to Reagan. We said F it and got off, rented a car ($38) and drove out to my husband's parents place, about 45 minutes from the airport.
But now we're here. Tomorrow, the holocaust museum and I think the spy museum. We're going to stay in a hotel right in DC near the Capitol. Saturday, something indoors in the morning, we're going to brave the mall Saturday afternoon (40F/4C), but sunny. Sunday morning were meeting my sister and her husband (in town for a Mac tools conference, serendipitously) and my 2 nephews for late breakfast/brunch, then her, my husband and his dad, and me are going to the Caps-Oilers hockey game at 1pm, after which we will retrieve our luggage from the hotel, ride the metro to the airport, and head home.2 -
How are the Oilers doing? Obviously I have no idea π€·ββοΈ.
Wonder whatβs up with Laurie?

This season? Good. Today? They got absolutely smoked. Looked awful. My husband is happy, he's a Caps fan.
But, I met a sportswriter for Edmonton at the airport after and we had a conversation about my Oilers t-shirt that led to a convo about where we respectively went to HS. It was funny.1 -
Funny good or funny ha ha??? Hubby needs to chose teams more wisely!π1
-
Oilers and Tampa tonight. See Iβm learning.
Seeing the oncologist tomorrow. And beginning to plan some trips. Weβre going to the Canadian maritimes in September. Planning some quick getaways too. Time to get back to fun stuff!1 -
Funny good.
To be fair to my husband, he's from Northern VA, the DC metro area, so they're his childhood team.1 -
Yooly!!! September? Greek girl and I were a tiny tiny bit early I think to get the BEST of colors and there is always a bit of a concern for the big windy thingies with lots of rain around that time of the year! Don't forget you're supposed to bring hubby over to somewhere near me so I can get bargain hunting tips from him!!!! ;-)1

I'm alive.
Things have gone from bad to worse. My health has not been great and I know if I lost weight and just ate better it would help a lot. My cat has been sick. My job has been impacted by the new US administration due to where our funding comes from so I have been looking for a new one.
So I am back but I am not going to be hard on myself because I am under a lot of stress and my anxiety is killing me. So hi...3 -
Hello Athijade! Iβm so sorry youβre having such a difficult time. Ugh! I think for now you just need to do whatever will calm your stress level. Hopefully things will get better. We here for you.2

Mr. PAV - I was on the west coast twice last year. Even docked in Victoria but you didnβt show up!
I know our maritimes trip will be too early for fall color but then it will be was cooler than Texas. Not too worried about hurricanes or storms- generally rare that far north. But if we do encounter storms itβs always a great dinner story for the future.
I think you have bargain hunting tips conquered without my hubbys help. Canβt imagine the two of you together!0 -
Hey 'Jade!
Not glad to hear about the challenges but glad to see you here!
Remember that you have more control over the inputs and less over not outcomes. Eating better, by itself, is a good step! π2 -
HELLO!
Back here in COLD Ontario - Newfoundland was very light on winter weather. Usually at least 5 degrees warmer than home and less LESS! snow.
Was held up by a couple of snow storms at my pups vacation stayplace. Which was nice because I came home with something like what PAV was describing. So it was nice to be taken care of
Home now though. Gathering my druthers (intentional misuse of that term)
So good to catch up with you all.
Nic - that lip looks so tender - but you look great! Amazing how neat and tidy your throat/neck area are. My first big weight loss in my late thirties gave me a saggy chicken neck that never went away - even when I gained weight. You look like weight has not ever been a issue for you. Hope it never is again.
Yooly - YOU are such a trooper. I hope all the stress and treatment side effects disappear ASAP. So proud of you for holding it together. The gym too!!! Did they do a lymph node biopsy-I can't remember? I was suprised at how long that took not to be annoying. My first surgery included that and a most unpleasant version of a nip snip (I kinda like that play on words - sorry, PAV). The lymph node incision was by far the most annoying. Other one was fine after a week or so - but the underarm area was tender for months. Now, after the mastectomy that area of my body is numb - a bit weird but at least I don't feel that tenderness anymore
PAV - Hope that beastly virus has released you. I'm making weird head noises as I read your lead up and full on description. Feeling for you. Thinking how much I would like some hot brothy soup. Dreaming of the son coming to visit today with beet/blueberry/spinach and lemon smoothiesI'll send one your way. I always feel better after drinking one of those babies. And, for me too, it doesn't seem to make much of a economic difference to rice my own cauliflower. The cauliflower trend seemed to double/triple the price of cauliflower a few years ago and it never went all the way back down. Occasionally they are on sale - but not often and not low enough to make the effort worth it. Having those bags in the freezer = higher likelihood of bypassing the other "sauce holders".
Athijade - very nice to see your name! Glad you are here. Let get back on track together. I'm trying to hold binge eating in check for the next couple of months - and then back on the weight loss train. It is so good to be surrounded by this larger loser winners! Inspiring - and a reminder that we are still part of the program

Hello most wonderful one! welcome back. I am sad to hear you're not feeling well though! Day 17 I guess over here... I would say I'm well though a whole bunch of stats are not yet showing it
But they're improving!
I admit to breaking down and buying the $5 / 500g President Choice Rice Ready California Mix (which I much prefer to the plain cauliflower mix). And where you at least get 500g instead of the 340g you get from other brands. I did use points, mind you! and cleaned out all measly six packs they had :-) Then split the loot up into two batches and got my (max limit) four squashes at $3 each for the girl... twice! I don't even want to think where veggie prices may be heading up to3 -
It is so good to see everyone! The first thing I thought when I decided to try MFP again was that I had to check on my LL peeps.
So far things have been going okay. I have walked pretty much every day at least 15 minutes (it was really cold again Saturday lol). I did not log yesterday and ended up eating a whole pizza, but that is pretty much all I ate. Need to get back to it today and remember to eat vegetables.3 -
Only in clothes, and even in short sleeves, my arms are a visible train wreck of excess skin. But thank you!2
-
Give it some time to tighten.
Throw in a bit of strength work if you ever slow down from running around... and you will see changes and improvements.
Skin by itself takes a good couple of years to settle down. Plus, when you eventually get to eating at maintenance (and remember that your early maintenance calories "post famine" are not necessarily the exact same number as your final maintenance calories a few months later) fat distribution WILL also change over time. Which means that you will still be seeing changes.
So yeah... give it a couple of years to settle to a more final configuration... and in the meanwhile you do look awesome (other than the lip!!!!!!)2 -

Me feeling better β¦ good enough to hide my sniffly snoretilling habits when I went for my preop today.
Donβt want my eye surgery postponed!!!
Iβm feeling ridiculously hopeful and excited that a week from now Iβll be seeing much better π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»π€π»2 -
