Oh no! Only 5% battery and nearly midnight. A sunny day but I went to an appointment at 11am when it was actually booked for 2pm. My mistake and ended up wasting time driving back and forth. Not much achieved so hoping for a better day tomorrow.
Beautiful tea set Lin.
Going before battery dies.

Hello. Happy Tuesday. Yesterday was frustrating after I mixed up appointments so today I have tried to get myself more organised. The podiatrist I finally saw yesterday advised me to take more time to look after myself and I could see she was right so I began today at a slower pace. George enjoyed a walk on the lower moor where we had to dodge mud churned up by tractors delivering food for the grazing animals. There was a cold wind too but I knew he needed a long walk because he has been so patient about the changes to our routine since Betty became unwell. My car hazard warning came on as I drove out of the car park, with a message in French because it is a Citroen. My schoolgirl French language was just enough to translate it into low tyre pressure so drove into town to the supermarket garage and pumped them up. I also purchased more boxes of Betty’s new food sachets then went on to the farm supply store that is on the outskirts for a few items. Betty was pleased to see us and I’m guessing she spent the time snoozing in the garden room sunshine.
It is cooler today but bright and dry so everyone seems cheerful!
I won’t risk turning back to read posts so wish everyone a warm and safe day.0 -
Happy Tuesday!
Beautiful day again with temps reaching the 50's again. I am meeting my sponsee for lunch at 1:00 but nothing after that.
Jackie, glad today was a better day and that someone finally told you to slow down. I don't think I would know how to put air in my tires, I asked my son to do it when my light came on.
Lin, I never have a problem returning to Amazon, I just take it to Kohls and they do it for me. I did find some clothes but haven't received them yet to tell if I like them on me or not. lol
Have a good day ladies,
Sandy

Tuesday night and trying to keep an eye on a pretty good technique video this evening. A new product again.
My eyes are worn out. Made a trip to Trader Joe’s this morning. Everything I wanted was in stock. Yippee!
Sandy, sounds like another good day. The weather is cooperative. My friend’s problem with returns seems to be that she purchases 2 sizes of an item, decides which one she wants to keep and sends the other one back. They tell her she didn’t return the right item. She had many rounds with them until she finally got her refund for her last order.
Jackie, great to hear that you and George had some time outdoors. And glad you got your tire(s) inflated. I am glad Betty isn’t overly nervous when you are away. Snoozing is a good thing.
Barbie, I heard the weather was cold in Washington and Oregon. True? Is Annie continuing to learn how to behave in various situations.
Be safe everyone.

My taxes were simple this year. All my investments are maintained by Edward Jones and they prepare the proper 1099 documents that I can send electronically to my tax preparer. The accounting from my pension and Jake's social security came in January. I fill out some forms for my tax preparer and mail everything to her. After tax season she'll give me her ideas of altering my withholding for filling single next year
🐾Annie keeps finding new playful things to do to challenge me.
🌞Since I don't go anywhere I've had no reason to buy new clothes
🐾😱Annie tries to claim my side of the bed.

Happy Wednesday!
Rainy day but I am going to take care of the dogs and pick the kids up for an early dismissal. Rob went downtown for new glasses and to stop in his office.
Barbie, Annie is just beautiful but tell her to go to her side of the bed. lol I hope my taxes are simple but I am still waiting for 1099's.
Lin, your friend just has to make sure the item codes for each item is matching the correct item. Maybe try on one item and lay it on the correct bag so she doesn't get confused. Just a suggestion.
Have to hurry so have a good day.

A busy day starting with grocery shopping but torrential rain earlier had sent a river of water down our track and under my garage doors! When I got home I left my car out and garage door open so it might dry out but more rain, and even hail, didn’t help my efforts! I have finally planted seeds taken out of Spanish tomatoes purchased earlier and placed the pots in my electric propagator. That should have happened last month but it was too cold.
I’ve heard from Anne that her leg plaster was removed but another x-ray has shown the break hasn’t repaired so she now has a very heavy boot on her foot. Carers are still visiting and some she likes better than others. She has books to read that are so old she doesn’t remember much of the storylines!
Annie is adorable Barbie.
That bee teapot is hilarious Lin.
Sandy, I was nervous about putting air in my tyres but it was quiet so I took my time and actually, because I had earlier Google searched how much the tyres on my car needed, it was easy. My problem is I have to re initiate the settings to stop the warning ping noise and so far it’s not behaving!
Time for bed! Take care

Hello…..
Barbie, Annie is so cute! Thanks for sharing a picture. That made me smile.
Sandy, hope your day went well. We had an overcast morning. It was also quite windy. We had sunshine this afternoon with even stronger winds.
Jackie, oh dear, you didn’t need all that water. Glad you got the tomato seeds planted. In a propagator they should sprout quickly. 🤞🏻 Poor Anne, that is not great news about the break not being healed. Great job on filling the tires by the way.
I worked on several birthday cards to be mailed in March. So happy to make some progress. I had ordered some shelf stable milk to be delivered to tock up again. They shipped almost all of it in one box which turned out to be about 45 lbs. The box wasn’t too durable so I broke it open and carried in a couple of containers at a time. Glad it wasn’t raining.
My eyes are still feeling tired and strained. Guess I have been doing too much closeup and tiny coloring. Hope tomorrow is a good day for everyone.

Happy Thursday!
Meeting today and one errand. Dogs refused to come in yesterday but luckily it was a nice day. They get full of mud so they don't like to come in thinking they will be cleaned up. They do get cleaned up by Rob and Lisa but there is no way I can lift them to the sink to clean them but they don't know that. I tried numerous times to get them in but to no avail. I did buy them a new rug that is supposed to catch all the mud but it was small and even though Obi came in once to jump on me he didn't stay on the rug long enough for it to work. I am returning it today and buying a bigger one and hope that works. I have to take care of my grandpups.
Lin, it was a good day, the kids were perfect and I got home early. I don't know what shelf stable milk is, can you explain?
Jackie, thank you for the update on Anne, poor thing. At least she has some nursing staff to assist her.
I think I will just let me son handle my tires. lol
Barbie, hope each day is getting a little better.

Hello, I am between classes right now. Kind of tired, couldn’t sleep after about 2am this morning. Got up early to take an early online class, write a couple of checks, did some laundry and started working on cards again.
Sandy, glad you had a good day yesterday. My huskies never liked any attempts at cleaning up or drying them off after a walk in the rain.
Shelf stable milk means a product you can purchase that before it is opened, does not require refrigeration.
Way back when, when I was commuting to look after my dad, I purchased these little containers of dairy milk.
Now I purchase large containers of soy milk. Handy that it can be stored without refrigeration and the shelf life is often a year or more.
Oops, back to classes.
Be safe everyone.

Hello. I hope everyone is okay today.
The wind had been crazy today. I had to rescue my door mat as it flew by, my downspout detached and started across the yard and even my very heavy garden gnome was pushed around. I put a note on my door asking UPS to please ring my doorbell.
They did not do that but I received a notice within minutes that one package had been delivered. Both were there and I struggled them inside. Sigh.
I hope the wind dies down overnight.
Be safe everyone. My sinuses are on the warpath. I think I will put warm wash cloths on my face this evening.

Hello and happy Saturday. I’m all out of sync with posting, sometimes late and sometimes early so with the 5 hour difference have to double check which day you are in. After a long walk on the moors yesterday and today I’ve been attacking garden chores because it is finally sunny and dry. It’s mid afternoon so I’ve paused for a cup of tea. There is lots to be done but I’m trying to pace myself.
Little Betty scares me some days refusing to eat and looking frail but then seems to pick herself up enough to make me smile. George is loving our walks when he has me to himself and has even started to keep an eye on me rather than get lost! My garage is drying out but my car is warning the ABS system is faulty so I must book it into the garage. It is due its annual road test this month so more appointments and more expense!
Lin, that wind does sound crazy! I went through a few years using Soya milk when dairy seemed to disagree with me. The only problem with soya is it did terrible things in my tea, even separating, but when the UK left the European Union a couple of local dairies sprung up and their milk and natural yogurt suit me just fine so long as I keep to whole milk, not semi skimmed. I love the fern teapot. Very rustic!
Sandy, when George sees the baby bath appear out of its storage box he tries to creep away, although once he is standing in the warm water he wants to kiss me! Something else that makes him try to run barking is an electric cable extension that is used to connect from my kitchen to his groomer’s truck!
Cup of tea finished so I will weed for another hour or until it becomes cold.
Take care and stay safe.
Jackie 🥰

Happy Saturday!
Our warm weather has turned cold again but at least the sun is shining. Doing laundry today as I couldn't do it yesterday. Our family zoom call at noon and then Church later this afternoon. I just had my car washed so I am hoping there is no rain for at least a few days.
Jackie, I am sure George is thrilled to have you to himself. Ewok and Obi fight for my attention and jump on me trying to get it. They are not well trained dogs, at least Obi is not. I do hope Betty keeps getting stronger, maybe she is just tired on her off days.
Lin, I agree the wind yesterday was horrible. The temperature was warm but with the wind it didn't feel warm at all. Take care of yourself with those sinus problems, get some rest today.
Have a good day.
Sandy

Just saying hello, nothing noteworthy here today, Zoom classes, putting laundry away, stamping 3 elements on each of 40 cards, starting to cut die cut the shapes, figuring out what account will be used to pay property taxes getting ready to do banking on Monday. See, boring, but essential.
Thinking of you. Wishing you happiness.

I went to Costco yesterday. This was one more new solo adventure for me. Since we got Annie, Jake had been going to Costco by himself because he didn't want to leave Annie alone in the car in the Costco parking lot. I finally figured out why. He always parked as close to the entrance as possible so he wouldn't have to walk far and he didn't want to leave her in the car with all the people and cars passing by. I solved that by parking as far out in the parking lot as possible and going into the store the minute they opened. Nobody parked anywhere near my car and Annie was fine. I bought only the five things on my list including TP since I still haven't gotten over the mindset that went with the big TP famine in 2020.
March came in with a day of "fake spring" but rain is predicted for today. My walking friend will be here at 11;00 so I hope it holds off til after our walk. I'll pick up groceries at 8:30. With Costco yesterday and QFC today, I'll be like Scarlett O'Hara who said "With God as my witness, I'll never go hungry again".
Both son and daughter called yesterday. Son called because he thought it was my birthday (it's not) and daughter because she tries to call every week or so.

Happy Sunday!
Another sunny but cold day. Just finishing up my washing with my bed sheets. I plan on staying home today and watching the Academy Awards tonight. I like seeing the stars and the clothes although I only saw two of the nominated movies.
We are expecting rain and possibly some snow on Wednesday which is the day I am going to Rob's since he is going downtown to his office.
Barbie, so Annie can't be left alone at home when you run errands? Has she ever used a crate? Or do you just enjoy taking her with you? None of my business, just curious. Obi loves his crate where Ewok prefers to have the open space of the house. They really love their yard and will stay out all day, weather permitting. You made me laugh with your quote. I like to stock up so I don't have to shop every week.
Nice of the kids to call to check on you. Son just remembered your birthday was in March, give him credit for that. lol
Lin, you could probably make money making cards and selling them on Itsy. You seem to love making them and they are beautiful.
Jackie, hope all is well on your side of the world.

Hello….
Barbie, good for you. I like to stock up as well. As of this afternoon over the last few weeksI have stocked up on Kleenex, toilet paper and paper towels. I used some gift cards to get the paper towels this afternoon. I had found some at another store online but there weren’t any in stock locally. I could have ordered them for delivery but the shipping is $9.99 which sort of ruined the good deal. So, I got the second best deal I could find. As I was leaving the store, I told the cheerful employee, see you in a year when I run out of paper towels and we both chuckled. It felt good to laugh.
And I am glad you found a way to do Costco shopping with Annie in the vehicle. Good thinking! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Sandy, I watched the local weather tonight and when they said snow was in the forecast for two days this coming week I was shocked. Oh, I hope they are wrong. Enjoy the Academy awards. Not something I care to watch. I always find something interesting though.
I am ready to do errands tomorrow. At least no snow is expected tomorrow. That is very good. I have quite a number of stops.
Be safe everyone.

Sandy, When we got Annie, they told us she was crate trained but at bedtime when we tried to put her in the crate, she started barking and fussing and Jake said that he'd like to have her sleep with us so he just put the crate away and didn't use it. I guess he thought she'd be OK just like the poodles and Bessie had been. But time passed and we found out how energetic she was and how she'd play rough with Bessie and chew on things that weren't safe. It was fine when there were two of us but now that I'm alone, every event is a challenge. I continue to put things away and make sure there's nothing she can get into. Now I can walk alone for as long as 40 minutes or leave her in the car while I'm shopping or at an appointment and she's fine. The car will be more of a problem when it gets warm in the summer. The Tesla had a feature called "dog mode" that kept the climate control going while the driver was gone and had a screen visible to anyone looking through the window that said "my driver is gone, but the temperature is set to 70 degrees (or whatever you set). As safe as our neighborhood is, I don't feel safe leaving the dogs alone in the yard for more than a few minutes.
Lin I like having plenty of staple products, but like you, I have to shop often for fresh products. I like curbside pickup at QFC. The ordering is easy, the employees are friendly, and I usually go at a low traffic time like 8:30 Sunday morning.
I've been doing well taking care of business until yesterday when my walking friend had to phone me from the driveway where she had been waiting for 20 minutes for me to come out for our 11 AM walk. I was relaxed with TV, bike, and knitting and completely forgot that we'd scheduled the walk.
We have had warmer weather and I'd love to get out and work in the yard and close up the woodstove for the season, but I know that March and April seem to go back to wintery weather so I don't want to jump the gun.

Happy Monday!
Another day of staying home which is fine with me. I called the union to send me a 1099 for the pension payments I received for 2024. Waiting for all the paperwork is frustrating, I just want to get it over with.
Barbie, Annie sounds like Obi, but they are so cute it is hard to get mad at them. It is hard to leave him loose in the house because he gets into everything and likes to go upstairs where there is new carpeting and they don't want to take the chance of him having any accidents. I am like Jake, I loved my dogs sleeping with us. Of course they were so big there wasn't much room for us but they would get too hot and go sleep on the tile floor. Glad to hear you were so relaxed you almost forgot your walk.
Lin, the awards were okay but was a little shocked with the Best Picture. I haven't seen it but Cheryl did and said it was all sex. Anora is the name of the movie and it won a lot of awards. I think I like the presenters more than I do anything, at least I still know most of them. lol
Have a good day, where is our English friend Jackie?

Hello. Got to all of my errands this morning. It took longer than expected. Did some Zoom classes today and contacted the place that has my Roth IRAs to find out the process to move one that is maturing. Then I called the place where I want the money to go and I think I have done as much as I can do at this point. Nothing seems to be easy and people aren’t sure how to accomplish things. Maybe it’s because things change too quickly.
My eyes are very tired once again and I have had a sinus headache all day and I need to get some rest.
Take care everyone. We expect over an inch of rain tomorrow and then a changeover to snow by Wednesday morning, a break on Thursday, then additional snow on Friday.
I will be staying in.

Good morning. I’m sorry I haven’t posted but so much going on, so as much as I would love to be in the bottom wider range of British Hierarchy of Needs Lin, I’ve only been squeezing in the occasional cup of tea. Yesterday I forgot to take a new container out of the freezer for my afternoon cuppa and ended up with a frustrating wait while attempting to defrost it!
I’m afraid Betty has deteriorated so an appointment at 11am will be decision time. She is struggling and so am I just watching her. Must now walk George round the block in cold sunshine and will check back later to let you know any news.

Hello and sorry I didn’t post again yesterday. Thank you so much for your kind messages. We’ve all been through it haven’t we so know exactly how each of us feels when faced with this kind of loss. When the vet saw Betty and the way she seemed to have switched off she told me she thought the kindest thing would be to let her go so as sad as I am, I know it was the right decision. I sat with Betty in my lap while a sedative was administered and within minutes she was fast asleep, then before all of the final injection had been given she was gone. I got a big hug from the vet and all her colleagues were kind. One of the nurses I’ve known for years was on duty and carried Betty out to my car because I wanted to bury her under one of my Camelias. George and Betty both came to look at her before she was laid to rest with her favourite squeaky toy and since then I kept myself busy and also messaged the friends that knew her. When it was time to eat I jumped into my car and drove to a store in town for a vegetarian microwave meal, bottle of wine and sticky chocolate dessert. I only had one glass but it helped ease a tense headache that had developed.
I’m trying to cut up the last of a few branches that have been lying on my lawn since Barney tidied a tree because it will probably rain tomorrow and through the weekend.
So dear friends, thank you again. Betty was the funniest, gentle dog and I’m missing her lots but know she is in a far better place.Hugs all round. Jackie 🤗
