Good evening. Nearly midnight so quickly checking before bed. I’ve had a quiet but busy day, if that makes sense. Deciding not to take George on to the moors I instead went to a large field owned by a Cornish Heritage charity. As we walked I remembered how Betty used to love to trot alongside George, so proud of herself! I am missing her funny ways but concentrate on all the jobs needed to be completed so mucked out the hens, cleared more weeds and then had another bonfire. It was a mild day and dry until this evening but thankfully everything in the fire drum was down to ashes by the time the rain started.
Good news, both pots of tomato seeds are sprouting so my next task will be to clear out my greenhouse, clean the glass and prepare for another season.
Thank you Barbie. 🥰
More snow Lin? Perhaps that is why we are apparently going to get cold again next week!
Enjoy your dinner tonight Sandy.
Thank you all for thinking of me. I’m doing alright knowing Betty is in doggy heaven! George goes everywhere with me again, the way he did before having to keep Betty company. He is a bit clingy but that’s understandable.
Off to bed. Take care.
Jackie 🥰

Happy Friday! 😁 Not sure I like this new format for posting. I started my laundry and then went for a mani/pedi for my birthday. It is raining and/or snowing but not sticking just yucky. I did not sleep well last night so I am thinking of a nap.
Jackie, Betty is having fun with all the other dogs until you meet again. Our dinner was good but the presentation too long. It was a dental office that specializes in tooth implants. Since I don't have dental insurance it is out of the question for me. I will keep my crowns and have them replaced if necessary which might happen to two of my front teeth since one of them has a crack in the back and it is attached to another tooth. I am sure George misses Betty but loves the attention he is getting from you. Just take care of yourself.
Lin, looks like we both have some dental problems, the tooth that is cracked in the back is also chipped. I would leave it alone since the small chip doesn't bother me but I am worried about that crown cracking and falling off. Always something.
I hope Barbie and Annie are doing well.
Have a good day.

Hello friends. Apparently my post went missing yesterday. But that’s okay, nothing noteable except a long phone conversation with a friend I’d not spoken with in months. She is organizing a get together for 3 of us who worked together once upon a time. Just an afternoon coffee/tea and talking meeting. We will see what happens.
Sandy, time to start birthday celebrations for you. Did you ask for anything in particular this year? I hope you have many pleasant gatherings. A couple of my friends are on a long cruise right now and are in Costa Rico (did I spell that right). Having loads of fun. They love the towel animals, the hiding and hunting for little trinkets and tiny ducks. They love the shows and volunteer to participate in all of them.
Jackie, you are a very productive lady. And I am glad is sticking close to you again. Good boy!
Barbie, hello, thinking of you and hoping everything in your home and your vehicle are working well. Take care
Be well everyone

Happy Saturday and International Women’s day! It has been quite mild so I’m continuing my outside chores, like moving a few plants out of a temporary bed used for over wintering in a sheltered spot. Hopefully we won’t get any more snow this season! Two rhubarb crowns ordered last week are ready to be planted and I am also going to move supports for climbing beans and peas but after walking George round the block this morning I decided housework was a priority so they will be jobs tomorrow.
Yesterday afternoon was my lung CT scan in a mobile unit set up in a car park in town and I took George with me because I knew it wouldn’t take long, in fact less than 10 minutes, so he waited in the car. For a change of scene and smells I then walked him along some quiet roads which he really enjoyed, before heading home. I was fascinated because they weren’t places I had walked before and it was an old part of town that seemed to be deserted and a bit derelict so I’m curious to find out why. I phoned Sheila to tell her about Betty and she told me she has finally had her back injection and is already feeling stronger so I will call her again in the morning to check if she would like to join me and George for a walk.
That’s me for now! Glad you’re alright Lin as I was concerned when no post appeared. Enjoy the sunshine and dinner Sandy.Take care

Hello friends,
Nice to catch up with how everyone has been doing. Other than Sandys mini holiday it sounds pretty much as if most of us have been home finding a variety of things to keep us busy. With the seasons starting to change that means lots of projects to do that comes with spring. We got a couple of crape myrtles trimmed, plus a plum tree too. Getting to be a much larger job than we should be doing these days. Next year we will get someone to do it for us.
Barbie….So sorry about your loss of your husband. Glad to hear that your to do list regarding this is slowly getting accomplished. Also pleased that Annie is adapting to her new changes too. Thinking of you….
Jackie….Sorry for the loss of your pup. Going thru that is never easy. George will likely become your constant companion for a while. It is an adjustment for everyone. We lost our Jacque about 9 months ago. Think of him daily. I go back and forth whether to get another toy poodle or a kitty. As time passes, plus we are aging, it isn't a snap decision to make. We have had a dog/kitties for the last 55 yrs of our married life. Jacque appears daily on the front of my tablet so he is always remembered. So glad I have his photo.
Eagerly look for a message that you receive from Ann. She was such a sweetheart. Sorry to hear about her broken ankle and that the cast didn't work too well for her. Know all about "the boot" since I had to use one for some brokens toes yrs ago. Please tell her I miss seeing her on here and wish her well.
Lin….Love the cards that I have seen from what you have done. You are so talented doing that. Hope that your allergies are not hitting you hard right now. The blossoms are starting to appear on the trees in the community, which means our sneezes are getting more frequent. We were at our daughters last week. Her house is tucked on the back piece of property behind orchards all around her. The orchards belong to someone else, but she gets to enjoy the country scenery along with her 6 acres, 5 goats and 3 dogs, plus a pond that gets larger during the winter and smaller during the summer. They love their little piece of heaven. Two of her kids are on their own now, but her youngest is 14 so we see her occasionally. Miss not seeing them much, but life goes on.
Well I need to get started with dinner. Wish you all well and think of you all often.
Until next time Diane

Happy Sunday! 😊 A beautiful day here and I will be going to Rob and Lisa's for my 2nd birthday celebration. Our dinner last night was wonderful and we had a good time. One more celebration tomorrow with Cheryl and Marisa. Life is good but fattening. lol
Diane, great to hear from you. Your daughter's property sounds beautiful and would love the smell of orchards in my yard. Don't work too hard with all your spring work, just do it slow.
Jackie, sounds like you found a great place to walk George. Glad your CT scan was fast and hope you get good results soon. Also happy to hear Shelia got some relief with her injections. I have to make an appointment for another one as well.
Lin, I wondered what happened to you but thought maybe you had a sinus headache. I don't want any gifts but people don't listen. I really don't need anything, but I do like receiving cards which not all of my children do. Our cruise is in May and I am looking forward to going and just relaxing other than the excursions.
Have a good day. Sandy, One Day at a Time

Hello - good to hear from you Diane. I agree, your daughter’s place sounds quite fabulous and very interesting and secluded. We are not seeing many signs of spring. Several people have mentioned a return of robins. None here yet. Spring will likely rush in and last a couple of weeks and then, suddenly summer.
Jackie, you always have some gardening to do. Did you get the rhubarb planted? There is always housework I try to not notice it 👀
Sandy, okay, no gifts requested I get it but I have always thought getting something you want is a good thing. Not everybody can find interesting things. I always purchased gifts and likely a big percentage of them went to a charity shop. Keep on enjoying your birthday celebrations.Barbie, hi, how are you?
Be safe.Lin 🙋🏼♀️

Thank you for the Birthday wishes, I do appreciate them. After celebrating two days in a row, Cheryl asked if we could postpone tonight's dinner until next Saturday as Marisa has to work late. I am fine with that as I am tired and still full. lol I will make it a me day and maybe even go for a walk since it is 60 degrees F with a real feel of 64. We have to change our flights for the cruise as they changed our flight with a two hour layover and I prefer direct flights as does Cheryl. They will refund our money so it should all work out.
Another year older, another year wiser. Where does the time go.

Hello friends…..over 70 degrees this afternoon and extremely windy. Hope my trash and recycling bins do not blow away tonight!
Sandy, well, that is good. You will have another get together to look forward to rather than one big cluster! Hope you get a good flight—meaning on as schedule you prefer.Jackie, I hope your day went well. Hello to George. Woof!!
Be safe everyone.

😀 Sandy Happy Birthday. It sounds like you have good plans. I, too, don't like to get gifts but it's hard to convince others.
😀 Jackie, It must be a constant juggling for you to balance all your house chores, all the needs of your friends, and the joy of taking George for a walk in all the lovely places you go with him.
😀 Lin Warm and windy would be a challenge for me. The warm would be perfect for gardening but the wind would be annoying.
😀 Diane good to hear from you. Sorry about Jacque. The loss of our pets leaves a big space.
😀 I continue to have adventures with name changes on accounts and discarding or passing on Jake's possessions. If I can deal with 3 things in a day, I feel successful. I learned to not get the mail over the weekend in case it includes something that can't be dealt with until a weekday during business hours. Yesterday I was able to not renew an appliance warranty plan that Jake insisted on that costs almost $700.00 a year and deposit two checks that were refunds from other cancelled or redesigned accounts. Then I found out that getting Jake's name off the car loan will required an original death certificate that I can either drive 50 miles to deliver or mail. I'll send it priority mail today—-$10.00 is a small price to pay to avoid a long drive with Annie.
😀 I started the weeding process in one of the beds I'll be planting then went to the store where I had a five dollar off coupon and bought new garden gloves and four bags of the good soil I like for planting.
🐶 Annie is still getting her walks and I'm getting my walks alone. I still average over 10,000 steps a day.

oh no!! I just typed the longest email, added a couple of photos and was about to send when Barbie’s post arrived and sent my draft into the ether. 😩🥺😢😭😤😠
You will just have to miss all that news but I’ll précis it later because I’ve a couple of jobs outside to finish before an Arctic blast arrive.

Happy Tuesday! 😄 My cleaning lady is here so I am staying out of her way. I have another stay at home day today unless the accountant calls and I can bring him my tax papers. I received so many calls, texts and post on Facebook for my birthday and of course from you my friends on sneakers, I felt loved.
Jackie, so sorry you lost your post. I hope you can at least send the pictures when you are caught up.
Barbie, Rob and LIsa did buy me two games which we played so that was fun. We are all big game players in my family so new games are always welcomed. I did not have to go through what you are in dealing with taking Babe's name off of anything since we were separated and had all our own accounts and personal items. I just had to notify social security and his union plus Medicare and credit cards, that kind of stuff. Most of Babe's clothes went to the Veterans although his son in law took some stuff. Your idea of 3 things a day is great, there is no hurry.
Lin, we did get a refund and I booked us on United for a direct flight so we are all set. Problem is Friday we are going to a concert, Saturday my birthday dinner and Monday is St. Paddy's day so we four friends are going out to dinner again. I guess keeping busy keeps me young so I won't complain.
Have a good day.
Sandy

Hello, super busy day with phone conversations, texts, working on Easter cards, Zoom classes and laundry. I am watching a new product release party on YouTube this evening. So pretty much my ordinary things, nothing exciting to share.
So glad to hear from you although Jackie, I am sorry that you lost your post. Darn it.
Barbie, I agree, picking up the mail when you have to wait several days to try to do something to address the issue makes my blood pressure soar which cannot be a good thing.
Sandy, glad you got your air travel straightened out. Good job! Looks like another flurry of celebrating coming up for you.
I don’t know what is going on but last night I developed a horrible earache and a sore throat. I don’t know what this is….early allergies? Some type of virus, sinus issues? No idea but I wish it would go away.
Time to run along. I do have a grocery order to pick up early tomorrow morning.
Take care my friends.

😀 As I finished my walk last night, I saw my neighbour sweeping her driveway and I stopped to talk to her. I see her come and go from her house to drive to work but haven't spoken to her since Jake died. I thought she might have heard it from another neighbour but she hadn't heard. We had a long talk while Annie watched us through the living room window.😀 Finally cleared out one bookcase and took time to polish it with orange oil. Now I have a bunch of books that Jake wanted given to friends. My next step is to sort them and box them and mail them.
😀 I've started pulling weeds in the area outside the fence where I planted pumpkins last year. It is slow going but I've cleared a section for the gladiola bulbs that I dug up from the back yard. I had to move all the bulbs from the area that Annie kept running through. I bought potting soil so as soon as remind myself about how to plant the bulbs, I'll get busy with that. I can work in the yard for about 30 minutes at a time and Annie can entertain herself. It's still cold here, but with the right clothes and garden gloves, it's comfy. I keep changing my mind about what I want to plant in the rest of the area and in the two raised beds. Fortunately I can't plant until May so I have time to think about it
😀 Sandy Glad you got your flight fixed to your satisfaction. Direct flights are the best unless you're very young and enjoy the landings and take-offs.
😓 Lin sorry you are under the weather.

Hello ladies. I’m losing track of time and what news I may have posted so probably all that disappeared yesterday wasn’t to important to pass on. On Monday I took my car into the local garage for its annual safety check knowing it would fail while the ABS is beeping at me but needed to know if any other issues were raised. They weren’t so it is booked back in next Tuesday for the repair and a service. I took George with me and walked him for the hour it was being checked. There are some steep hills in our little village so I took my time because of George’s little legs! We strolled round the churchyard at one point where crocus bulbs are flowering before any leaves on trees have appeared. I expect that is why they are called harbingers of Spring!
An hour walking up and down the hilly roads wore us both out and later George slept while I spent an eternity arranging to change broadband supplier to a more reliable and cheaper company. My initial attempt online failed so I called the helpline and she had to go back to the beginning and start again. Having begun the process about 3pm I finally received confirmation the swap was set up around 7pm!
Yesterday I visited friends for morning coffee when a call came through from the supplier I’m dropping asking why. I answered a couple of questions then explained I was visiting friends but he became pushy so I said goodbye! I’m now receiving text messages and emails almost hourly because they want to offer a better deal that wasn’t available before I switched. Too late as far as I’m concerned and anyway the new supplier’s contract is still better! An engineer is booked to install at the end of the month so I hope I’ve done the right thing!
This morning I took Brady to the vet for his annual booster and collect his and George’s flea and worm treatment. I returned the towel Betty had been wrapped in and had a brief chat with the vet. George was walked afterwards but it has turned colder again so we didn’t go too far. I will need to look through my wood supply to check if any needs cutting up for more fires.
Lin, I hope nothing developed from the ear ache and sore throat. There are some nasty bugs about. Friend Linda is still poorly but has managed to avoid moves to put her into hospital! Yes, the rhubarb is planted in rich soil but not happy in the cold. It was warm when I planted it! I shouldn’t harvest any this year to give it a chance to establish the crown so have left the old crowns in another spot in the hope there’s enough to do something with it. Yesterday’s teapot is fun but the knitted jumper the holder is wearing looks even more my sort… warm and chunky!
Barbie, I too started the weeding process but cold wind has sent me scurrying back indoors! I do like to keep busy but sometimes feel my head is spinning.
Sandy, it is unusual for you to have so many stay at home days but it must be good to have some catch up time. Soon be May!!I shall send my post before I lose it!
Take care

Happy Wednesday! 😁 I got up at 6:30 to get to Rob's by 8 so he could catch a train. I got the kids off to school with some pushing them to hurry and was all set to settle down when I discovered I forgot my pills and breakfast. I went back home and came back and soon will tidy up the kitchen after I catch up on computer.I just brought the dogs in to take a nap since they spend so much time outside. Lisa should be home by 4 and hopefully Rob is home before she takes the little ones to Religious Education. I keep telling myself I am too old for this but I think it is what keeps me going.
Jackie, beautiful picture. I bet George is loving all this individual attention but at the same time missing Betty. Always something with our cars. I know I will need an emissions test before I renew my license sticker in July.
Barbie, keeping yourself busy as usual. I do not have a yard so there is no prep for me with my flowers although this year I am thinking of planting some impatients around our lamp post in front of our building. That's if I don't move. I am thinking of getting a rental near Rob and Lisa but the rents are so expensive around here. Old or young I never did like connecting flights unless absolutely necessary.
Lin, I do hope you are feeling better today. You do so much maybe you need to rest a day or two.
Well, I better get moving and straighten up a little. The kids left their dirty dishes for me to put in dishwasher and I just like things tidy.
Have a good day.
Sandy
