😀 My friend (the one who was the breeder of both our poodles) came for a visit yesterday and brought me food from their family holiday dinner—ham, lamb, veggies, roasted potato, hot cross bun with lemon curd, and corn bread. I had half for supper last night and will have the rest tonight. She is a dog lover and the dogs enjoyed her visit and the walk we took together.
😀 The mail contained my marriage certificate that I took to Social Security on Tuesday so the process continues. It will be a few more weeks before the process will reach conclusion.
😀 Our warm weather is gone and wind, clouds, and rain have arrived. Today will be a good day for indoor chores even though I'm eager to continue with the yard.

Happy Monday! Very sad news this morning with the passing of the Pope. I really liked him and his views. Our Easter was wonderful with going to Mass together and then opening presents, followed by a great dinner. Rob and Lisa got me Crocs and we all had matching pairs so it was cute. I was home early with lots of leftovers which should last me a couple of days. I do have errands to run today including a blood test for my thyroid. I am just so lazy this morning I hope I get them all done.
Barbie, how nice of your friend to bring you dinner with leftovers to boot. I am glad you got your marriage certificate back and hope you hear from SS soon. You should get widow benefits for sure. Not a lot but it is something. Glad you were able to walk with the dogs and your friend.

Barbie, your day sounds lovely. Delicious food parcel, walking with a friend that made everyone happy. We had about an inch of rain and overcast skies all day. This afternoon, we have sunshine but rain is in the forecast for most of the remainder of the week. Things have really greened up.Sandy, glad you had a good Easter Day. Wahoo, Crocs for everyone! I hope you enjoy them.
It was sad news this morning but the poor man has been living with less than good lungs for a long time. I am not Catholic but for some reason have always found the Jesuit order more appealing for the help they render to people around the world. I hope a good man is chosen to succeed him.
Well, tomorrow is finally my day at the dentist’s office. Cleaning and exams to see if the broken tooth can be fixed. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

That’s a cute bunny!
A busy day preparing for Charmaine’s stay from Wednesday until the weekend. Several things went wrong along the way that slowed my progress but tomorrow I have the day to myself to finish. At least I’ve washed the wall in the spare room that had shown signs of damp before a new gutter and facia were fitted. It felt dry so I knew that problem is sorted so just needed to clean the stains. We are enjoying pleasant Spring weather with the occasional shower but that’s good for the garden. Dozens of tomato seedlings planted in pots and even more perennials so my greenhouse is filling up.
Must get to bed as it’s gone midnight.

Happy Tuesday! My granddaughter is on her way here from Nashville with her dog. She lives in Minnesota so she is breaking up her trip and spending the night here. It will be great to see her as I don't see her often. She is 35 and a Psychotherapist who loves her job. She has a live in boyfriend who she shares a home along with her dog Rilo and her cat Peach. We will order pizza and catch up on everything. Love my family.
Jackie, have fun with your friend Charmaine. You work so hard you need to have some fun.

Happy Tuesday. Nearly midnight again, even when I had planned an earlier night! It has been another busy day with a variety of chores and also emails that needed my attention. Somehow I messed up writing my hair appointment on the wrong date on my calendar but luckily had a reminder text message otherwise I would have turned up tomorrow rather than Thursday. It means Charmaine will have a couple of hours to relax with George while I attend or, if she wants to, she can come with me. It turned cool and then very wet and windy this evening so the heating went back on! I will shop for a few groceries in the morning and prepare a meal for Charmaine’s arrival. On her way to me from London she will stop off to see her youngest who is studying at a university about 40 miles from me.
Sandy, have a lovely evening with your granddaughter.
Lin, I hope you had good news at the dentist. I’m still trying to get through to mine on the phone to book a visit to repair a lost filling!
Bedtime! I will do my best to check in while Charmaine visits.

I have a newly fixed tooth but not feeling great. Seem to have some kind of allergic reaction going on.
Going to grab some allergy medicine if I can find it and some Tylenol, then off to bed.

😀 Dentist today. Only a cleaning but the hygienist said that when I come next time she'll have the dentist take a look at what might be a cavity. She knew that I was too fragile to take on anything new today. I'll see her again in September. Annie was a good girl in the car for over an hour.
😀 Annie sunbathed while I pulled weeds. My neighbour is out of town and asked me to put her garbage can at the curb and since she was gone for so long there was extra space for me to put several bags of weeds. A win for both of us.
😀 My other adventure was changing the sheets while Annie lay in the bed and played with a ball and tried to grab the sheets.

Happy Wednesday! Kelly arrived around 6:30 last night and left around 8:00 this morning. It was a short but wonderful visit. Rilo is adorable and slobbered me with kisses. I ordered pizza and we watched a movie. Love my family.
Today I am going to my friends house for game day. She will of course order food and I was told to being lots of singles for the card game.
Barbie, I have to go every three months for a cleaning because of my gums. I see the doctor I think once and of course she always finds work that she thinks should be done. I postpone it every time as I don't have dental insurance except for their in house plan and it would cost thousands. So far so good.
Lin, I hope you are not allergic to latex since that is what most of them use for gloves I believe. Hope you are feeling better today.
Jackie, glad you got a reminder for your hair so you didn't have a wasted trip. Enjoy your time with Charmaine. We understand if you get busy and can't post.

Barbie, probably a good decision to not take on too much at a time at the dentist’s office. I refused a fluoride treatment yesterday. I just wanted the two things (cleaning and the tooth repair) and that was enough for the day.Did my regular things today. Classes, talked to a friend and texted with another. I cooked some beans and made a salad with the last of the greens I have. Off to pick up a grocery order at Walmart tomorrow and then a stop at Trader Joe’s for more salad greens. I planted a few green bean seeds and dug some dandelions.
Rain is expected this evening and tomorrow.
Still thinking about whether I want to take time to sort out more card making supplies to take to the library. We will see.

Happy Thursday! Meeting today where I am speaking. Tonight bingo at the library. We had fun at my friends playing left, right, center. She had way too much food but it was good. We plan on doing this once a month but she doesn't want to rotate houses especially mine because of the stairs. So we will just take turns bringing the food.
Lin, it was great seeing both Kelly and Rilo. Rilo is a very good dog but loves to give kisses. lol

😀 After too many times of Annie getting past the velcro closure on the cupboard and getting into the kitchen garbage, I finally got smart and took the can out of the cupboard and put it in the sink when I'm gone and ordered a new can with a lid so she can't get into it. So far she hasn't gotten sick from licking out the ice cream containers or injured from licking the lids from the dog food cans but I don't want to wait for a big disaster before taking action.
😀 Sandy, your granddaughter and her dog are darling. i look forward to the day when Annie settles down enough to take her visiting.

Hi, Thursday evening and it looks like some storms may be moving in. I did a number of errands and chores today. Picked up my grocery order at Walmart while it was raining fairly heavily and the guy would not give me my order until I produced my ID AND he took it and copied some of my information into a little book. I am quite concerned, I have never had to produce an ID before. That was concerning.
Got fresh greens at Trader Joe’s and stopped by my house to unload my purchases. Then I went to Home Depot to pick up a new raised growing container for my deck. Spent a lot of time trying to clean it up. It was a mess of bird poop, feathers, sticks etc. Nasty.
I did a couple of Zoom classes but I didn’t reach my goal today. That is quite unusual. Makes me sad.
I talked to several friends today. One friend received a letter from Social Security saying her benefit had been revised and she would now receive $5.10 a month. 🤦🏼♀️ She’s been on the phone.
Barbie, it takes a lot of energy to think of how to protect Annie from hurting herself. Good for you and I hope this change keeps her safe.

Happy Friday! Laundry is going. I decided to wash my big bedspread so hopefully I can get it to dry in the dryer. Then I have the sheets and blanket and thinking about the pillows and pillow covers besides my other laundry. Today is a stay at home day and I am happy about that. Time to catch up with everything on my computer and TV. More busy days ahead. BTW, I didn't win at bingo but it was fun.
Lin, I might call the store manager on the fact that he took information off your ID. That would make me nervous as well as your address is on there. I don't remember having to show an ID when I do a pickup unless there is alcohol involved. My talk went very well, everyone was thanking me and it made me feel good. I always am happy if my talk helps people and in this case it seemed to help a lot.
Barbie, I have a garbage can that you have to wave your hand over to make it open, although if Annie jumped on it who knows if it would open. lol She is still a pup, she will outgrow her puppy qualities. At least I hope so, because Obi is still a trouble maker.

Some Zoom classes and some investigating into an email and attachment from my credit union. That is settled now.A bit of coloring and also got a check out in the mail.
I hope to get some early exercise in and then drive over to the supply swap.

Happy Saturday! I recorded the funeral of Pope Francis and will try to watch it today. I have a family zoom call at 12:30, then at 2:30 going to watch Robby in his karate tournament. Bringing the kids home and we will go to 5:00 Mass, then to Mc Donald's before coming home for movie night and spending the night. Rob will pick them up by noon tomorrow as I am going to a drag show at 1:30. Cheryl invited me with a few other ladies.

Hello friends. A cold and breezy day today. I did a few Zoom classes and spent quite a bit of time at the supply swap. The largest room at the library was stuffed with things to look at. All table tops covered and boxes and bags stuffed under each table as well. It was fun to paw through some of the very full boxes. I did bring home a few things. I hope I stay well. The room was packed with people. 🙃

I’m back and it is a sunny Sunday. Charmaine left yesterday lunchtime to drive back to the university where her boy studies. We had lots of fun, talking, walking and eating. I cooked a vegetable stir fry when Charmaine arrived Wednesday evening and we sat up until 1 am catching up with respective news. My hair appointment couldn’t have come soon enough because windy days meant me having to wear a hat walking and it was so long I couldn’t do anything with it! My hairdresser was shocked at its length so was happy to layer and shorten it so I’m in control again! We had a cream tea in the afternoon, took George for a walk on the moors and watched a newly born foal getting to it’s feet and tottering about while mum grazed as if nothing had happened, then Charmaine prepared a curry and once again we sat up late nattering. It was very windy Friday so we found a footpath across a low area of moors and walked George until I became aware he was flagging so we turned back. As we strolled we took a closer look at the tiny Spring flowers like Violets popping up and tried to identify unusual trees that were bursting into leaf. That gave George a chance to sit and rest while we paused and we both said we found it a relaxing afternoon as well as fun. A delicious fish and chips meal at the local pub finished off the day and yesterday morning we dug plants in my garden and took cuttings for Charmaine to take home while George continued to rest as I didn’t walk him. I took him up to the moor this morning and bumped into David and Hattie so we stood chatting too long! He has asked me to buy a special cactus online for him now he doesn’t have access to the internet so that’s my next job having finished watering and feeding my outdoor pots. I should catch up on missed news while Charmaine visited but think, since the world is still turning, I will move on!

Happy Sunday! Kids are here to noon and I am exhausted. I did not sleep well. I am a light sleeper and any time a kid made a noise I had to check on them. The older one who is ten was up until almost 1am. He is still sleeping but I will wake him by 10. I will probably fall asleep at the drag show brunch unless my shower wakes me up. At least it can't be too long so I should be home early.
Jackie, glad you had a good time with Charmaine. I bet that little lamb was as cute as could be. Sounds like you are David's personal shopper now, another job added to your resume. lol
Lin, glad you snagged some bargains. The movie last night was Mufasa: The Lion King. This morning two of them are watching the Lion King.
I won't take my shower until Rob picks them up so catching up on computer.

Hello. I worked a bit outdoors today. Assembled the new raised planter and a few other things. Watched the church service after they posted it. And that happened quickly. Did several Zoom classes. The playlists were great today.
I spent time trying to think of a good idea for a card that I need to mail soon. She doesn’t have any hobbies. Doesn’t like to garden and flowers don’t interest her. I don’t know if she has any favorite colors so it’s either camping or dogs. I have done both for her before.
Will start on something tomorrow.I hope everyone had a good day.

😀 Kitchen garbage can update: The new can arrived yesterday. While waiting I'd kept the original open can on the counter—unsightly and probably unsanitary but very convenient. The new can was too tall for the space under the sink because of the pipes. I considered sending the can back and hoping I could choose a better replacement but was uncertain about my ability to figure out the dimensions without opting for something too small. Then i realized that since I live alone, I could do whatever I want and put the new can in the broom closet a few steps away from the sink and moved the dog food container from the broom closet to under the kitchen sink. I am delighted with my decision. It works for me. Annie can't open the broom closet and even if she could, she can't step on the foot pedal and get into the can.

Happy Monday! We had fun at the Drag Show, it wasn't really a brunch but the regular menu. I got home early and today is my do nothing day. Tomorrow night Robby is in a band concert, he plays the clarinet because his mother did and she still had the instrument. Thursday after my meeting I am meeting my friends to celebrate one of their birthdays that was the end of March. Saturday Max makes his First Communion. May is even busier. I will welcome the Cruise May 16-25.
Barbie, good job on the garbage can. What ever works is the best place to put it.
Lin, glad you are feeling better and were able to work outside. Today is going to be near 80 but with wind and possible rain.

We are under a tornado watch until at least midnight. I am stretching out right now in case I have to try to move quickly later.Got a load of laundry done today, the needed birthday card, and lots of Zoom classes.
I also had some sharp words with a squirrel. He is very busy trying to dig up my lettuce and beans. Also almost tipped into my watering can!

Yesterday I threw myself into all the small jobs outside that need my attention. It was sunny and warm but I had realised my sun lotion was out of date so kept under the garden parasol any time I sat to rest. Walking first thing with George was pleasant because a cool breeze was blowing off the coast but I still can’t trust him off lead so didn’t walk too far. As I drove into the car park I saw David asking someone if they knew how to unlock his phone!! It is so old fashioned no one can fix it, not even the staff at the local Tesco shop he bought it from! He will wait until his next appointment with his podiatrist whose receptionist understands it. Sandy, you did make me laugh at the suggestion I’ve become his personal shopper because you are right. He worries about everything so I’ve given him my spare special Factor 50 facial sun cream because he says he can’t get to the pharmacy and I’m also bidding on eBay for a rare cactus cutting for him.
The funniest comment he made yesterday was that he was disappointed he hadn’t seen Charmaine last week because he would have asked her if she would be his housekeeper if he bought a large property in France. I laughed and told him she is already one of those for her partner! He had forgotten she told him she lives with another David so I hope he isn’t too disappointed 😁
A hot day in store for us but a breeze will help even if it blows pollen about. I’m sneezing lots!!Barbie, Betty used to scavenge in my small pedal bin so it ended up on the counter. I trust the dog food container is secure!
Lin, you are finding some amazing teapots. I’ve loved every one. I do hope that tornado didn’t come near you.Time to blow my nose and get on with some chores. 🤧
