I may even toot a horn about the corn having caterpillars and not worms. Lol!
TOOT

Yes getting information helps us understand. We are getting wiser every day like an owl. Shall we all "hoot" together?
HOOT
1 -
hehe you gals made me laugh 😂 so let’s toot and hoot together! If we keep on with all that we will need a Hood to cover our heads!
HOOD0 -
I don't think we should hide under a hood but " hold" our heads high and hoot and toot all we want - unless there is a person or baby trying to sleep. Then when we realize it, we can put our hoods on and quietly slink away in the darkness.
HOLD

I told myself it would be worth it to read our next story instalment, and I was right! Lol!
TOLD

yup and I am Smiling Brightly Susan, yes Linda I am with you….
so we three will hold our heads up high and Toot and Hoot up a Storm…So let’s Dole out a Toot and Hoot for all to hear!DOLE

Yes, let's dole out plenty of toots and hoots. Our role in this is to get people smiling and laughing with us. What a great role!
ROLE
1 -
I so agree Susan it is a Great Role to have! And another Role to bring a Smile on the faces in our community are “The Local “Lore” tells us of a hidden Spring that provides Clean Water to Drink”
LORE
0 -
Is the hidden spring that provides clean water to drink near the caves where they do a lot of mining for different "ores".
ORES
1 -
Yes, I think so, Linda. It's near the rows of caves where they mi e for ores.
ROWS
1 -
Are the caves situated in a semi circle like an eye "brow"? I think it is fascinating to watch the shiny ore as it is in the rocks then to see it when it is purified.
BROW
1 -
yes Linda, I so enjoy it also
Mining is so interesting to learn about! And in Mining a semicircular or eyebrow shaped Cave is a characteristic feature of certain caving methods particularly “Block Caving” and “Sublevel Caving. These methods involve undercutting a portion of the Ore Body which then collapses or caves in creating the semicircular shape
I’d love to see Rows of these Block Caving and Sublevel Caving! Sorry it’s the best word I could find.
ROWS0 -
I hope there are no cows near the caves. The cave I s could be dangerous for them.
COWS

Judith - thanks for the very interesting facts you told us about the caves. Usually the ceilings of the caves can be jagged from the mining operations. They can be very tall for a few feet then there will be "lows" of the ceiling where they have not done much mining.
LOWS
1 -
yes good point to make Susan, don’t think there would be any Cows near the caves but I guess we should keep a watch just in case, you are welcome Linda and thanks for the heads up on the jagged edges on the ceilings of the caves and how there can be both talls and lows in the caves. Yes Lots to consider and think about here!

Caves last a long time and some can sure be unstable especially after the mining blasting. We should all take care there.
LAST
1 -
If the ceiling of the mines start to crumble, make sure you run very "fast" to avoid injury from the heavy chunks of rock.
FAST

Susan, caves can Last a long time but they will be unstable when Blastung has taken place so you are right we need to be careful. And Linda I agree when the ceiling begin to crumble we need to run very Fast to get out. I have known in the Past people have got hurt when these caves have become unstable.

I remember caving in my youth and when I cast my mind back to those days, we sure took a lot of risks I wouldn't take today.

Susan - I know I did. It is a wonder that lots of us survived some of our adventures. Have either of you had any adventures on a sailboat and tried to climb up the mast to see better?
MAST
1 -
I too took a lot of risks but climbing up a mast of a sailboat to see better is one thing I didn’t do. But I took risks and road a Harley Davidson when my Mom told be not to even think about it. Well, at 15 years and having a family who lived next door and the son living at home for a short time who owned a shiny big bike that sure looked inviting to me.well I admit I rode the bike with the neighbors sone who was 5 years older than me. It was a Friday my school was not in session. Mom and Dad were at work and I though no one will ever know; my Mothers friend was off work that day and as I and the young man went speeding down the old country road with my hair blowing in the breeze. My Mom asked me what I did that day, I said nothing just laid around relaxing. So Mom replied back to me, how was your ride? 😆Oh Boy, I knew I was in BIG TROUBLE: and To make a long story short, I was grounded for a month for riding the bike when I was told not to and was grounded for another week or so because I lied to my Mom. Wow what a naughty and disobedient young lady I was. Yes the Ride was super Fast down the Old Ancaster Hill!

No, I've never climbed a mast but I have bern sailing and have ridden on the back of a bike and learned to drive one myself! Judith, that was quite a story about you as a young girl! Stories from our past really are interesting.

It is interesting to see how we as older women, have had an interesting and adventurous lives when we were younger. We lived in the country with no children our age near. We had chores to do on the farm with the animals so we were too busy to get into too many problems. It was in college that I did some interesting things my parents did not know about until I came back home. My parents would have been a-"gast" (yes I know that is not the correct spelling) to know my cave spelunking adventures ahead of time.
GAST

yes we all have done things as young people that our parents would react the same way you were speaking of Linda, yes especially my Mom would of been a-“gast” yup not correct spelling, borrowed it from Linda 😆 yes Susan stories from our Past can be interesting, let’s share more and Cast the line over our minds and “catch” the stories to share…

I can say that the things I did were not illegal or immoral but were impulsive and fun at the time. They did not "cost" a lot of money since I was a poor college student but only time on the weekends.

The post each of you made about the things you did at college age made me smile. I think we all behaved in a similar way! I didn't so immoral or illegal things either but we sure took a few risks.
POST

yes Susan we all took Risks when we were younger but now that we are older let’s be more Mature and do the Safe things and Stop taking Risks that may Hurt us!
STOP
0 -
Not only should we stop taking risks, we need to watch our "step" when we are walking to avoid falls.
STEP

Yes, many accidents stem from inattention, not deliberate risk taking.
