Hello. A very hot day. No more rain and so far no additional fireworks.

Barbie, I hope you found detailed instructions on cleaning the air filter(s). None of them in my system are cleanable, they have to be replaced.

Sandy, I hope your day turned out fine and that you did not get drowned in rain.

Zoom classes, finished the card and will mail it tomorrow. Did a bit of laundry.

    Take care everyone.

😀 The furnace was a bigger challenge than I thought. I read the directions carefully and succeeded in turning off the thermostat which is what I did for Jake when he cleaned the filters then turned off the signals that say that the filters need cleaning but there was another place where it said to disconnect a power cord and the cord was up high so I needed to stand on the step stool to reach it and then it didn't just pull out like I thought it would. I didn't want to mess with something electrical that I didn't understand so I quit and decided that I'd call the company that does the furnace and heat pump maintenance and ask them to make a service call to help me. I shared that on the other MFP thread that I post on and someone wrote back immediately that I should look for a You Tube video on how to do it. I was skeptical but I tried it anyway and found three great videos. There were more, but I stopped after three and went back to the direction book to read the directions, then tackled the job. The hardest part was locking Annie in the back yard because she barks at the vacuum. The other thing I learned was how to use attachments on the vacuum that I'd never used.

😀 Now the warning lights are off and the cooler is happily cooling the house so sleeping will be pleasant tonight.

Happy Monday! Back from the Cardiologist, everything is good, I go back in a year for another echocardiogram and go for stress test in two weeks to make sure nothing has changed since last year. Cheryl, Cathy and I are going to see the new Jurassic Park movie later. I hope I don't jump out of my seat.

Barbie, good for you for figuring out how to clean the filter. You Tube is very helpful with their videos.

Lin, I think our fireworks are also done. I managed to get my errands done in between rain. I wanted to get my dollar a gallon off gas fill from Amazon as it was over yesterday.

Jackie, busy as usual? Any word from Anne lately? Still missing her and her sense of humor.

    Have a good day.

Hello……little sleep last night. Apparently there were loads of fireworks left! I hope that’s was it…..

Barbie, well done on the furnace service. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Sandy, glad you received good news from the cardiologist. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Nothing very interesting here, got the sympathy card mailed at the post office, the Kinetico service guy was here and discussed how our water supply is getting worse every year. Not an uplifting conversation but anyway, the service is completed.

I did a bit of laundry, picked green beans, did some Zoom classes and looked over a few things online at Amazon. Prime Days starts tomorrow.

    Take care everyone.

Happy Tuesday! The movie was good but not as good as the first one, I preferred the original actors. I did jump once or twice. lol Pool day today if it doesn't rain and then sitting later for parents to play volleyball.

Lin, sorry about the fireworks, it seems to be quiet here. You impress me with how you do your zoom classes everyday. You must be in good shape young lady.

Barbie, thank you, I hope the news for the stress test is the same.

Jackie oh Jackie, where are you?

    Have a good day.

Tuesday night and my usual class starts soon.

We had storms overnight and some areas had lots of rain and 70 mph winds. Luckily not here, we got lesser wind gusts, about 3/4” of rain. Today warmed up to mid-80s. More rain is expected later in the week.

I waited for a phone call from my new banker today but nada. I looked up the new rates that were effective 7/7. I am afraid that since I lost my old Senior Banker I may also have lost my preferred customer status given my banker doesn’t have seniority.

I also did not find out how the company that was here yesterday has to be paid or how much they charged. I am full of question marks I guess.

Zoom classes finished for today Green beans are picked and no watering was necessary today of course

    Hi Barbie and Jackie.

Today was a day that most of my classes included instructors with a dog companion. All of the dogs were antsy today. Something in the air?

    Be safe my friends.

Hi, nothing notable to post from yesterday and probably today. Long phone calls with several friends, finally a few calls straightened out my latest minor banking issue. Another friend said she planned to call this morning but it looks like her plans changed. She was trying to help out a grandson yesterday. It is likely that saga is continuing. He is a high maintenance adult.

    Wishing everyone well.

Sandy, enjoy your evening. Drone shows sound fascinating.

Jackie, sorry about the connection issue. Miss you and Anne! Sending a hello to George.

Barbie, hope all is well with Annie.

Oh, and no fireworks here last night. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I’m back!! I don’t know how long for but hopefully engineering work has been completed. I hadn’t been officially notified and only found out yesterday from a dog walker that he’s been cut off for most of the week and when his wife messaged their provider they were told it was because they are continuing to replace the old copper wiring with fibre optics. He doubts their phone line will be reconnected so told his wife to cancel that agreement! I did tell him good luck with that because mine was cancelled but I continued to get charged so he knows to keep an eye on future bills!

I see everyone is quietly getting on with their routine. A drone show sounds interesting. Are they selling them or flying? Too many privacy rules and regulations in Britain for such an event but then we are drowning in government legislation these days!!

I continue to sort through saved letters and out of date documents but am finding it difficult to consider destroying some correspondence even though I don’t read them and no one else would be interested. I’m slowly persuading myself I’ve got my memories and that’s enough!

Our heatwave continues, although you American ‘gals’ would think 90 degrees isn’t so hot, but our infrastructure isn’t designed for it. The air conditioning in my car usually gets used to clear condensation rather than cooling me and George so at the moment I have to remind myself that I’ve got it! Thank goodness, these 200 year old stone cottages keep the heat out so watching Wimbledon tennis is a good excuse to sit indoors but friends in modern homes are struggling to sleep at night.

Im sending this while I can! Happy Friday. I will now message Anne and hopefully have news for you soon.

😱 I finally jogged my accountant's memory about telling me how to change tax withholding. My income comes from three sources.. Each required a different procedure (phone call, form online, and filling out a form and mailing it in). That stuff stresses me and I was glad to have it done. I fell asleep almost immediately when I got into bed.

Happy Friday! We got rained out of the Fest so they postponed the Drone Show until Sunday. I am taking the kids to the fest Sunday with Lisa and Rob in the afternoon since they sold wrist bands for the rides they can ride from 1-4. I don't think they will stay for the show since it starts at 9:15 so I will go back around 8pm. Today, laundry is going and then to Lisa's parents house to celebrate Lisa's dad 74 birthday. We are going early so should be home early and before more storms.

Barbie, I hated getting all that stuff figured out and did rely on my accountant to help me with all the changes. Glad you got it done and can stop stressing.

Jackie, glad you are back even if just for the day. It's not the same without you. Hopefully, they are done with the fiber optic and you are back for good. Please tell Anne we all miss her and hope she is doing well. The Drone show is a display of different things I believe with lights. They can do amazing things with them and some use them in place of fireworks. I will let you know after I see the show.

On a sad note Lisa has a friend she has known for 40 years. Her husband was diagnosed with cancer in May and was in hospice the last few weeks. Monday their house burned down to the ground including vehicles. Wednesday her husband died. They have two children and everyone was safe from the fire because the wife got them out in time including her husband in a wheel chair. There is a go fund me page and there will be a fund raiser to help them but how will they get over the hurt and loss. So tragic. Keep them in your prayers if you pray.

    Have a good day.

Thursday night and Friday were filled with storm watches and warnings, flash flood warnings, sporadic Internet connection, lots of lightning, enough rain to keep my sump pump running continually and enough scares that I packed up some of my necessary paperwork, extra batteries, etc. in case I had to hang out in the basement or had to leave the area. That was about all that happened yesterday.

I picked up a few groceries this morning and am doing Zoom classes now.

Barbie, everything is different by company or agency isn’t it. I have one more IRA I want to move as I will have all of them in one place. Another sweaty time trying to get the needed information and dealing with bankers at two banks. Argh. And those doggies are very cute with their fresh grooming. Thanks for sharing a photos.

Jackie, sorting through old things is a difficult process. I am loathe to throw away everything from my Grandmother and Grandfather. I am getting old enough that my memory may fade as well. I hope your Internet connection stays on! And I still think 90 degrees is hot, even with air conditioning. We also have way more mosquitos this year. Apparently to save money, the cities in this area are not doing the usual spraying at the beginning of the season and the biting bugs have taken advantage of that and all the rain.

Sandy, I hope the storms have passed you by now. I need to watch the church service from last Sunday. It wasn’t posted on Sunday but I am sure it is there now

    Be safe my friends.

Good evening. It has been another hot day which meant getting up at 6:00 and driving to the moors. I kept to an open area where George could wander freely although it is becoming more apparent his hearing isn’t great so I make sure we don’t lose sight of each other. On the way home I drove to town and parked with windows open in a shady area near a supermarket to buy fresh milk, yogurt and bread then came home to enjoy my breakfast on the deck. It was bearable for a while under the parasol but even that became too hot so I have spent the day relaxing, including watching a disappointing ladies tennis final at Wimbledon!

This evening I have watered the tomato and cucumber plants in my greenhouse as well as potted flowers and herbs around the garden and that’s as exciting as my day has been. Another hot one tomorrow!

    Take care

😀 Another lovely day with a Zoom meeting, walks with dogs and by myself, laundry, exercise bike, TV, Knitting, and reading. The weather is nice so I thought Annie might want to play ball in the back yard but when I threw the ball, she got it and took it back into the house. She was happy to play ball with me sitting on the couch.

Happy Sunday. It has been very hot so after another early walk with George then breakfast on the deck, I did a few jobs in the garden then stayed in the cottage. The men’s tennis final was exciting and when it had finished I went outside and discovered the heat had gone which was a relief. Now I just need some rain on the garden so I don’t have to keep watering! I might get a lie in tomorrow. I’ll let you know!

Hello! A day of Zoom classes, some cooking, picking green beans, crushing boxes, cleaning out newspapers and magazines and making a trip to the post office to send my donation to my church for Christmas in July.

I need to pick up a book at the library tomorrow and plan on trying to order a new pair of glasses on Tuesday.

    Hot today but not excessive.

Sandy, fun game night again. Wahoo!

Jackie, sorry it was so hot and poor George has trouble with his hearing. Must put a tracker on his collar? A friend just sent a note, his dog is about a week from his 13th birthday and has a host of health problems.

Barbie, you have such pleasant days filled with all the things you like to do. Yes!

    Take care everyone.

Happy Monday! The drone show was great, I loved it. Here's a clip of part of the show.

    https://youtube.com/shorts/oUzh_9p_KXg

It was a long day with 4 hours with the kiddos with me wearing the wrong shoes and my feet hurt so bad. I toughed it out and the kids had a great time. The older one got a tummy ache so Rob took him home to rest and picked us up when we were done. I went back a couple of hours later with three other ladies to see the drone show. Today I am resting by the pool.

I hope you all have a good day.

    Hello, very hot day!

I did get my glasses ordered. Oh yes, Costco was busy! I got in touch with a company that replaces the caulk in the driveway and I have to wait 2 weeks to get an estimate. I guess they are very busy and I have no idea what this may cost. It may be too expensive for me.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

Gone midnight and heading for bed. Yesterday the engineers returned to the area and disrupted our internet and today it has been intermittent. So frustrating! Linda visited to collect a big old mirror I haven’t used in years. She has cleared a section of her garden and wanted to sit it in a gap in her hedge having seen it done in a gardening programme. I made coffee and had bought strawberry and custard tarts so we sat in the garden room and caught up on news then loaded the mirror into the back of her vehicle. I also had a half full bag of garden pebbles and two of horse manure for her so put those in my car and followed her home to help her carry the mirror through her garage and into her garden. It is now in place where she wanted it!

It was a warm day but I can tell having just let George out before bed that it has turned cold. Rain forecast for Wednesday so I won’t rush to the moors but maybe get some groceries first thing.

Sandy, I couldn’t view the video you posted because it shows it is for private view only. Glad you enjoyed yourselves. I’ll just have to imagine!

Linda, isn’t it incredible how many beautiful tea pots exist!

    Take care

Happy Wednesday! My plan today is to go walk Cheryl's dog (she has a client in for two days that she is busy with) then go to see Charlie for her 7th birthday. She and Robby are having a joint party Saturday but her parent are playing volleyball tonight if it doesn't storm so we are just having a little cake today.

Jackie, see if this link works. https://youtube.com/shorts/IihQkdG6Ngs?feature=share I made it public.

Happy Wednesday. I was out early to buy more fresh produce, then on my way home stopped for my favourite bread at my local store and discovered a fish monger stall set up in their car park so that was a treat. I mostly eat chicken and fish and living near our coast means I have access to fresh stocks. It also makes me think more about preparing meals rather than taking easy options. He says he will be there every Wednesday. We have had fine, soaking rain falling most of the day so George and I didn’t have a great walk but dried off when we got home and relaxed. Eat my first 2 home grown mini tomatoes that didn’t even make it out of the greenhouse. Delicious!

Thanks Sandy, I watched your beautiful video and was impressed how clever the drone operators are. Where have the years gone now Charlie is celebrating her 7th birthday?

Hello Lin and Barbie. I trust all is ok with you both.

😀 Sandy, wow, the drone show was impressive.

🌞 Warm again today. I woke up early enough to go for an early walk and be back in time to do all the watering before a 9AM online commitment. Even so, a lot of the plants look droopy. I'll water even more thoroughly tomorrow. My dog walking friend cancelled again at the last minute.

😉 I took the finished knitted blanket and three knitted hats to Project Linus today. I sat and talked to the ladies there about knitting and crocheting. I'd have stayed longer but it was so hot that I couldn't leave Annie in the car for too long.
