When we went every year, we stayed 10 days - but we camped. That took the cost WAY down, especially since we got 1/2 price camping at the Corps of Engineers campground (and it is beautiful). The last year that we went we only were at the festival one day due to Bill's disabilities. We probably stayed 3 nights in a hotel, but that was just a drop in the bucket of all of the music involved.

I always enjoyed your sharing when you came back. They need to put the groups on YouTube so we who can't go can still enjoy the show!
I see my regular NP tomorrow. I need to have my pancreas MRI in December to make sure nothing has changed and, Lord willing, perhaps has even gotten better! I also need a CT scan on my lungs before I go and see the pulmonologist. I haven't gotten a call from them, but then getting in for a CT scan doesn't take as long as the appointment for the MRI. I at least have November to work it all out. I have three appointments in Nov with the Arthritis PA, my eye doctor, and my new gastrologist. Then in December I see the pulmonologist again. Phew, I hope for a nice six month rest before I need to see any of them again. Not sure if the gastro NP will want to do an endoscopy or not, we'll have to see. Maybe a new and stronger acid reducer has come out and they will let me try that, because I've used all of the ones that are on the market now, and none of them keep me from having reflux! We'll just see how things go. Such peace knowing that God already has it figured out for me.
Lovely storms going through for the next couple of days! So far no flooding though, but when the tide comes in, we'll see.
Love y'all.

Hey there, Kim, how did your trip to the NP go today?

It didn't go. I remembered about 1:30 (even though I'd thought about it the day before and that morning) but Wade was in town doing our shopping and even though he was on his way home it would take us at least 45 minutes to get there so there was no way we could make it on time. He thought it was a televisit (which originally it was, but was changed to an office visit, then it wasn't possible to make it a televisit again because of the government shut-down!) and I just forgot! I have another appt in Dec so we are just going to wait until then - unless my blood pressure continues to register low. It was 109/62 in my left arm and 95/59 in my right arm this morning! My pulse has been a little lower on the high end, but actually a little higher on the low end. I would normally go into the 100-110 getting ready in the morning, but it hasn't reached 100 since starting this med. On the low end, it would go into the 40's while I'm sleeping, but it hasn't left the 50's, so that's good! I think this visit was to talk over what to do about taking the metoprolol which also lowers both of those, but so far I've been alright.

I've been getting better sleep in North Carolina than I did in Miami. We're done this morning around 11:30 and my flight isn't until 6:30 tonight, so I think I'm going to walk around High Point - maybe see if I can find a decent furniture store to wander around in. Dave and I need new bedroom dressers (well, a chest of drawers for him to replace the armoire that he's never liked). We bought quality Thomasville furniture more than 30 years ago and it's really held up well, but some of the drawers have lost the little ball bearings and don't slide as smoothly as they used to. I doubt I'll actually buy anything - but you never know. I just have to remember that delivery wouldn't be for 8 -12 weeks.

Well, I didn't shop for furniture, but if I found a little antique table, I would grab it. I am keeping my eye on facebook marketplace looking for a nice used keyboard. I don't want to move mine if I need it for something, so it would be nice to have one especially for that. I was even looking for new folding pianos. Some have pretty good reviews. That would be easy to take to church for practices, etc. I'm not playing for anything except closing, but we are currently missing a keyboard player, and the church's keyboard (which was a very expensive one) started doing strange things and they can't seem to figure out why. In the middle of a song it started changing keys. That's when I quit playing. A few years later, someone else came in with their own, but she is now away in college and probably not coming back to our church (working with worship team in a large church).

We have a KORG (I think that's the brand) for our pianist at Church, it's been really nice (a used one). It makes it so easy when she can do a chord change for me to lower it - she just has to get it all figured out ahead of time with the guitarist (usually Wade if I'm singing). I won't be singing for while, I need to figure out what is happening with my vocal chords. I can start a song but I usually start croaking about half-way through, high or low. Singing high doesn't hurt my throat like singing low does, but I can project more when I sing low. Sigh. Hope you are able to find a nice piano. We've been able to find several things on Facebook, but living remote anything we find is usually an hour or two away!
I saw the PA yesterday and he said that it could still take up to for to eight more weeks before the med takes effect. I'm going to call him in the middle of December and let him know if I am getting any relief at all (that will be two months). If nothing is happening he will up the dosage. I need it to start doing something. One thing I did get worked out was my left shoulder. He said that it is likely a tear in the front ligament of my rotor cuff - a tear or a sprain. He gave me some exercises to do and suggested I use Voltaren on it. It is an Nsaids cream, so not sure how I will do with it since Nsaids don't agree with me.
I go to the Gastroenterologist tomorrow. I honestly don't know what she can tell me that three or four others haven't, but maybe there is a new med to relieve acid production! I hope she can tell me if it's acid damage in my throat or just nodes on my chords. We'll see tomorrow. She is an NP, so I hope she is really good at her job. I have one doctor among all of the ones I'm seeing, there are two NP's and one PA. So far they have done pretty good. Ugh, her pre-check-in questionnaire asked about physical problems I am experiencing. I had about twelve different things, the most important, that I could remember. Something has to be tearing my body apart! My comfort and peace come from God's presence with me and I can never tell Him Thank You, strong enough!

Kim, remind me, where do you live? Did you use to live in NC or do you live there now?

We lived in western NC until 2020, now we live on the coast of NC; in the 80's we lived on the coast of NC as well, Morehead City, but now we live Down East. We've lived in Texas and Tennessee as well. I can never remember where you live, Cindy!
I went to the Gastroenterologist for a consult today and will be having an upper endoscopy in December (which I'm not sure exactly what that is because the others I've had were down to my stomach - I think this one will be looking at my esophagus), I'll follow up with her in February. I hope they take a peek at my vocal chords on the way down. She gave me some new medication to try and if it works, great, but if not then I'll take Nexium in the morning and something else at night which should be helpful. Praise the Lord that my Medicare drug plan will pay for the Nexium, although it is a bit more expensive than other things I am taking, still it's reasonable. I'm not sure if the new med is covered and she knew that would be a possibility, but she tried it anyway. I still haven't heard from CVS if it's covered though. This doctor is part of the hospital system that we really like, so I was happy about that. I see the eye doctor next week and that should be it for November. Somewhere in all of that I am supposed to have an MRI for my pancreas and another CT scan on my lungs. I hope that the New Year means no more Doctor visits for awhile! LOL!

My goodness Kim, I can't keep up with your Doctor's appointments.
I went to the eye doctor a few weeks ago. I hadn't been since I retired 7 years ago. I had bought a bunch of contacts with my FSA when I retired and was still using them until I realized they had an expiration date, and it was past. I was also having trouble seeing that mid-range for playing piano. I have my music on a large tablet, but some songs are really hard to read. I got the new glasses ordered and they came the other day. The prescription does help, but I still can't see with the contacts she had me try. I told her in the office that everything was blurry, but that was the best. I called her back and told them I couldn't see with the contacts, so she is supposed to order some with astigmatism correction to see if they will work. If not, I just won't be able to wear the contact anymore. If I do "contacts" it is just in the right eye. My distance vision is almost 20/20, but the close up and mid-range are where my problems are, so one contact works. We will see.

Oh, what a bother! I'm glad the glasses work! She checks my eyes for the pressure and the optic nerve to make sure there is no sign of glaucoma since my pressure has been slightly high. I may need new glasses this time too. Sigh.
It's hard for me to keep up with all of these doctors and stuff they are looking into - at least they are finally looking into it all. I wish there was one doctor who could take my list of things wrong and say - oh, this is why your body has fallen apart! I was fine until I hit menopause at 48, and then I started having consistent troubles. My stomach was always a problem, but all the other stuff hit after menopause.
Ugh, Wade painted the wood stove insert in our fireplace and it is smelling strong and making me nauseous! He has the windows open and a fan going in that room, but it's spread throughout the house anyway! It does look really nice though. When he gets that all cleaned up I'll take a couple of pictures of the newly decorated room - gorgeous. We don't have curtains yet, but are looking for those. It's a hallway, but there are three pairs of windows in there! Not sure what we will use the room for, but Wade really wanted to get it fixed up.
I hope y'all have a great evening. Love you

Looking forward to seeing your new "room". I have a sunroom with 5 large windows and a big glass double door at the end. The way the former owner put a shelf the entire length of the windows, it made it where I can't use curtains. I do have blinds, but would love sheers, too. I do enjoy the long shelf. It holds LOTs of family pictures. I don't really consider it a sunroom, but an office. I have my computer, piano, book cabinet, bookshelf, TV and a recliner in it. The piano is used often. The TV has been turned on twice. The first time to set it up here, the second time to make sure it was still working before a young man brought his mom to visit me. I wanted him to be able to use it, but he didn't turn it on.

I'm not sure what we'll use this room for. Right now Wade is using it to practice his guitar, the acoustics are really nice. I'll try and get the pictures up tomorrow. I tried to get them off my phone and into my computer, but it didn't download the two new ones (the room), just all the old stuff. They're in my gallery on my phone though! I sent them to my e-mail thinking I could get them off the computer that way - they aren't showing up in my e-mail. I hope whoever got them enjoys them! LOL! Grrr!
Oh, my eye doctor appt went well yesterday. I don't need new glasses. The trouble I'm having with my vision is coming from the cataracts that I have growing a wee bit. Not big enough for surgery, but enough for things to go unfocused for a second or two. The pressure was down as well, but she is still has me on glaucoma watch! So, praise the Lord, a pretty good visit. No more for this month and then five things for next month (so far).
