    and, I eat cabbage…

It's a free will choice.... because I do care, all things considered…

it's a small choice, most would never suspect... but I am glad to find others who consider such things too... ♡

While objectively we averaged a meager 2.04 mph (ranging 1.6 to 2.32 mph) for our 4.71 mile walkies last night, I was quite happy both for myself and for the pooch!

I sort of giggle with the "moderate" paced walking "walking the dog" activity on MFP — it's not moderate walking if they stop to sniff! And since someone has been getting on in age and slowing down, most of our walks during the past year+ have netted 0 to at MOST 10 moderate minutes of activity based on gps 🤷‍♀️ So getting 66 out of the 133 was awesome!

Last night we set out at a relatively fast pace… and we returned at a much more leisurely but just as fast of a pace since the way back was downhill and less sniffed :-)

And yes, I even had to explain to her that we were NOT going to continue to head further away from home given it was starting to rain again and we were more than 30 minutes away even on a direct path!

She was also very unconcerned about the fireworks — which was nice to see!

I admit to not usually sharing "videos" but these are actually very short and (I think) funny! Sent by a friend who has had his fence "leveled" twice by a bear… they do roam his neighborhood quite a ways up Burke mountain. They are not local bears… but:

Wow - did not know bears were so easily frightened! Of course if I saw a bear outside my house I would be behind a locked door. Can’t imagine living in a neighborhood with roaming urban bears. All we have are tarantulas, armadillos and coyotes and maybe a fox or possum or raccoon or two. Oh and deer, lots of deer.

We've treed three racoons in total last week!😎

Forgot about the roaming skunks here - plenty of them from the smell of the morning air sometimes.
How does one “tree” a raccoon? 🦝 Assume it’s you and the pup on your walks?

Our 3 cockapoos sounding the high alert barkig caught a racoon by surprise at the pond late one moonlit night... racoon got one in the neck, trying to get away… close call but pup survived. After that, we went out b4 pups and made racket before pups were let out. It was a pita I did not mind… raccoons can be vicious when cornered - quite naturally.

She has a scratched nose / about / muzzle top from a previous raccoon encounter. And she wanted to get back in with me dog handling her by heaving her back while air kicking near the racoon. Lots of hissing and barking and some yelling. A couple of years back now. The recent trees were pulling on a chase and jumping around the tree while hissing could be heard from the branches. Two were clearly seen (flashlight etc). One just heard.

@Athijade - I am glad the meds were finally approved, and you can finally get started. Do let us know how it goes.

    — I often read your shares and think, ah, we could be twins with this or that...

    @PAV8888

Yes, yes, yes... and as a non-technical person receiving info & recommendations, it is rather mind-boggling to be able to hear & understand & sort the pertinent points, translate the technospeak/descriptions from various providers enough to understand the point/concept, then express it back or to others — along with conflicting recommendations and sometimes inflexible/overbearing personalties and imposed demands...

Sort, choose then if asking clarification or alternative, or to choose no, incur whatever or wrath, depending on personality of provider.

To illustrate trying simply to comprehend technospeak, when I was helping dad with a Radiologist who gave the degree position of a mass on the esophagus, I asked which side (front, back, left, right) was the mass and they went on to say there is no side, it is this # degree (on the circle.) That was a tiny bit iota of the info we have to take in & sort...

It is just so hard, particularly when there is strong pressure to comply... and our concerns are not addressed or dismissed or worse.…

Trying to decipher in an online search tends to lead to very repetitive simplified results returned that virtually give the same 2 paragraph blip...

Part 2…we do try to be proactive, to participate, follow recommendations, etc

But conflicting advice can be baffling… for ex… remember the decades of 'eat breakfast, it cures all diet woes' to now 'do intermittent fasting/IF, it cures all diet woes' — which is true??? Can't both be true?

    Lol.

and then there's the matter of info shared in public forum posts.…

A while back when our British contingent was more vocal what were we calling the medical professionals? Bods was it?

As times go on they don't appear to be particularly communicative or challengable.

I haven't checked but I wonder what the statistics are. Has the population per doctor been increasing? Why do they seem to have less and less time and willingness to discuss and consider vs the past? 🤷‍♂️ And, I for one, more and more get the impression there is a price tag following me. Either (and I'll be honest, this one is LESS often) as a revenue generating unit, or, more (and more) often as in a benefit cost analysis of whether it's worth expending resources for this individual or situation or can we just put it off till it explodes or gets hit by a bus eliminating the problem 🤷‍♂️

There exists a more private messaging function but it only works between people who have agreed to be friends. I think I've managed to send an invite 🤣🤣🤣

I’m starting to make up the cookie doughs for my annual cookie gifts. Today it’s peanut butter cookies which will have a peanut butter cup in the middle. I make up all the doughs and freeze until I bake in December. Surprisingly the cookies from frozen dough often taste better after having “aged” in the freezer. And it’s a whole lot easier than doing it all same day - less mess!

I have cookie helpers/tasters when I bake. And I need specific numbers so not much spare tasting. Got to keep up the tradition.

We’re going to Galveston Island for a few days. Weather should be perfect, beaches to walk, seafood and getting away. Sure you can join us! Good luck 🍀

    Beautiful Yooly, enjoy!

I was just reminiscing through 1 of grandmas cookie tins I use for paper keepsakes.

Both grandmas baked a wide variety ahead - tradition - I miss them. (the cookies too ;)

Nope not my photo. I make star cutouts. I just made the dough and put it in the freezer. Baking will be in December.

Did I mention it’s still hot ?🥵 Yesterday broke the record for hottest day ever recorded in November at 93F (34C) degrees. Cold front comes in tonight so maybe only 65-75 but warms up again later in the week

Maybe pictures later (MFP Android/pixel not happy together).

But it involves a hot and sour seafood soup at a Pho place.... at 22:00!🤣

Do these people understand the words half noodles? I think I will start with 25% next time!🤔🤔🤔

Lol, noodles? Thought you were going to say salt!

    Yooly, those look yummy!!

Cool & blustery here with intermittent bouts raining cats & dogs, followed by rainbows. Low dense fog off the river in the mornings.

Dug out my jacket & umbrella, turned on the winter heat thermometer program to turn on when it dips into too chilly.

Today I grocery shopped, took a walk, did several school assignments (working ahead some because I have 21hrs of clinical next weekend, sandwiched between 2 40hr work weeks, and meal-prepped a big pot of chili, for the same reason.
