Russ was recuperating yesterday so he stayed at the apartment and I went to dinner at the Jeff's house. I spent time with Layney and Miles. Hayden was smiley for a bit but then his fatigue took over and Karah gave him a bath and put him to bed. She had a hard day between the kids and dog. They have a birthday party to go to this afternoon so I don't know if we will see them today or not. Between the sugar and excitement with other kids that may be what they can handle today.

I hope Russ feels better today or I will go and do things without him. I want to go to Barnes and Noble to get some books for Hayden's bday coming up. I would also like to go to the beach. It will be 74 today and a nice walk on a sunny beach would feel good.

When we went to the fish camp for dinner last weekend I got bitten by No See 'Ums or mosquitoes, maybe both. I still have swollen itchy bites and they are driving me nuts. My body over reacts to bug bites and holds on to them for longer than typical for others. I bought some Hydro Cortisone Roll-On but that only helps briefly with the itch. They don't seem to be drying up either.

I have been knitting Layney's poncho while I am down here. I am almost done with the first panel and should finish it and start the last half while on this trip. She may get it for Christmas after all. I have a patterns for a Batman hat for Miles but need to buy the yarn when I get home. A hat can be made in a day easily if I don't run into problems with the patterns. I don't think Hayden will get a knitted gift this year. He is into banging, throwing, mouthing and tearing. He seems to love balls too. Jeff loved balls and that was his first word. Hayden is a smart little guy. He watches everyone and then tries to do what they do. The other night he pulled to stand at the baby gate and proceeded to do the lever and push it open. They have put locks up high on their outside doors so the kids can't reach them.

Well I hope you have a good weekend and it is not too cold up north. I am enjoying this weather and the reprieve from winter temps settling in.

still feeling kind of puny, but getting better. Still dizzy quite a bit, at least not the horrible spinning and 🤢. Sounds like my mom had something similar last week too. So must have been something viral. I “got” to take two of my PTO days for Tuesday and Wednesday ☹️. I made it through work Thursday and Friday and mostly laid around all weekend.

    Hopefully Russ is feeling better

    Back to the grind

A friend's doctor told her dizziness is a strong sign of COVID. I have no idea what is or isn't.

Russ is better but we are both tired. We will be here today and tomorrow and head home Wednesday. Arrive home on Friday. The weather has been sunny and warm with exception of that two days of cold temps. The No See 'Ums are irritating me and I'm constantly putting on hydrocortisone or benadryl topical to control the itch.

Karah is joining Miles for lunch at school today so Russ and I will go to the house to spend time with Layney. Hayden will go with Karah since he does not like to be separated from her.

Hope your bug leaves you soon.

Hi ladies. It feels like forever since I came on here. I usually do at work when things are slow, and things aren't slow right now! I'm on my lunch break right now

I am debating if I want to put up a Christmas tree. The desire has gone down since Mom died and even more since Dad died. I never have people over so it's not like anyone would see if I did. Also, there's Wesley to deal with………………… I am thinking of getting a pencil tree so it takes up less space, but then again with a pre-lit one I don't want Wesley to bite through the wires like he did before. I am currently building a Lego Christmas tree. Can I count that as my tree?

I understand the low desire to decorate some years. A couple of years I just did my little table top tree. Even with a family, it sometimes gets to me having to do all the work.
can’t believe you are already on your way home J. Safe travels

Every time I goggled my symptoms it never said Covid variant possible. But I didn’t test, so who knows. I wouldn’t be surprised since it knocked me pretty bad and Covid loves me. ☹️ And yeah still dizzy. I haven’t been brave enough to attempt walking on my machine.

    Hump day

We arrived home today. I'm tired and feeling lazy. I will unpack as the weekend progresses. We stayed in Brighton, MI last night so we could go to Frankenmuth, MI to Bronner's Christmas World store. I had never been and wanted to find a new snow globe since my other one was thrown out when we moved. It was leaking and the liquid inside had gotten murky. Russ lasted about 15 minutes and had to go to the car. It was very over stimulating but I continued to shop. I found a really cute snow globe with a snowman motif. It can stay out all winter. I bought cute tea towels for the DILS to put in their Christmas boxes. I also found out that Snow Village is still being made. They had village buildings and accessories. I thought it was discontinued years ago and hadn't added to mine in years. I bought some new figurines and trees to add to mine. The ornament section was huge and very overwhelming so I didn't buy ornaments for the kids. I couldn't focus or make decisions.

Angela, we went without a tree one year after kids had left home. It was just us so we didn't decorate at all. It was so depressing for us. Nothing to mark the Christmas season. We didn't like it and have decorated every year since. My sisters live alone and they don't decorate. It doesn't seem to bother them. I just like highlighting the holiday season. It gives me joy.

Marla, I think I read a B12 deficiency can also cause dizziness. Look up causes of dizziness and see what comes up.

My cousin Polly who is about 76 is in the hospital with pneumonia, UTI, kidney infection, Sepsis, and fluid around her heart. I don't know when she will be discharged and if she will be able to attend Thanksgiving at our house. Scary!

    Have a good weekend!
