Wanted to share because I'm uber excited. Since beginning on March 1st I have already lost 4lbs. 4lb in less than a week?! I heart Jillian Michaels:)

That is outstanding.....Congratulations!!! I was going to weight myself on D30 but now I'm contemplating on D15. I feel the difference and I see the difference I am so excited, but I'll wait a few more days. The push ups are getting better I did the whole thing in modified, now it's time to straighten those legs of mine.

I weight myself everyday. I know it's not recommended because of fluctuations, but for me I need the accountability every day:) Ditto on the pushups. The very first circuit is the hardest, I feel like it 's the "uphill" part. Once I get past it, I can coast downhill for the rest of the workout.
  • Day one of the 30 day shred ..

Level one completed measurements below :)

    W: 131
    Hips:38
    Waist:32
    Left Leg:22.5
    Right Leg:22.5
    Neck: 11.5

    :) xx

L1D5 completed, moved onto slightly heavier weights today as wanted to push myself a little bit more, agree with the comments about circuit 1 being the hardest but find the bicycle situps at the end a really nasty end to the whole thing!!

I rotate between the 3 levels. I find level 1 the most difficult (especially if you hold the handweights while doing the cardio, as they do in Level 3). Because of hip and knee injuries (hit by a car years ago), I discovered after day 3 that I had to modify certain movements, particularly the "skating/skiing move". Not because of muscle soreness but rather because of extreme joint soreness.

In case anyone else has bad hips or knees, these MODIFICATIONS may help:

I had to eliminate the jumping jacks, the jump-and-twist move, and the side-to-side skating/skiing move -- basically any move that involves jumping and twisting or jumping and straddling simultaneously is out. Instead I do a combination of extra butt-kicks, high knees (I LOVE that one!), double high knees, and single-footed jump rope. By the last one, I mean jumping 2 or 3 times on my right foot (left foot up off the ground the entire time) , then switching and jumping 2 or 3 times on the left foot (rt foot up entire time), etc. I do side leg lifts and leg swings to work out the hip area. I just can't do the sideways jumping moves. It took too long to heal these injuries and I certainly don't want them to return!

It's been great so far - even when I REALLY didn't feel like working out last night, I knew we all have committed to each other to do this, so I spent 20 minutes with Jillian and felt GREAT afterwards! Thanks for this group and the motivation!!!

day 8 done for me! i weighed myself after day 7 and had lost 2lbs. last time i done the 30DS i lost 10lbs over all so i'll be happy if i manage that again! getting more comfortable with level 1 now compared to day 1 anyway but i know i'm only 2 days away from getting my *kitten* kicked in level 2. but as much as i hate level 2 i'm looking forward to getting my core crushed! lol.

    keep on shredding!!

Half way through level 1!! D5 was a bit easier, but I still have such a hard time with the cardio in the first circuit!

I have the same knee injury issues. And the lower back, when doing the bicycle crunches. On to level 2, but I would love a day off....

Today I did day 3 level 1, my 18 month old kept sitting on my face while I was doing the chest presses, and then sat on my abs when I was doing ab work. Had to put him in his play pen. Glad I got 3 days in a row. The hardest part for me is the push ups! I am doing the modified pushups, they are better on day 3 then they were on day 1.

:drinker: Heres to day 4 tomorrow

I'm on the same day/level as you. I was able to do a few buttkicks without looking like a deranged lunatic - so it is getting better and my endurance is building! I am also doing the modified pushups. I don't think I've done a real pushup in my life!

L1D5 complete. Finding all of it much easier although I could improve my push ups but I'll keep working on that. Congrats to those that are seeing improvements in their bodies. Very exciting!

I finished L1D5 today. I don't know if this is normal, but I haven't lost any weight since I started, but I definitely feel my body changing. I'm still very motivated to keep going and my sister in law started doing it everyday too (day 3 for her) so its nice having someone to push me everyday. The soreness is MUCH better today. I'm looking forward to L1D10 so I can measure again and hopefully see some progress!

It is very normal to not lose and sometimes even gain while doing 30DS. You're building muscle and muscle is heavier than fat; it takes up less space though, so you'll see a change in your measurements by the end no matter what the scale says :)

L1D6 Finished!!! I think I will do tomorrow and then take 1 Day off.

It makes me laugh to hear about people's kids and pets because my two dogs are definitely trying to help. They love how the legs alternate on the bicycle crunches.

You think those are bad?? Wait until the v raise squats in Level 2!!

L1D6 completed managed 5lb weights throughout so definitely seeing an improvement, locked the cat out today which was a brilliant idea!

Thank you for replying. I was hoping that was it, but my husband seems to think you don't start actually building muscle right away so I was kind of worried. I'll just keep under my calories and stick with it. My clothes feel like they're getting looser so hopefully that's true!

Your husband could be right, but muscles hold water to repair...so that could be it too?

I drop the weights too. It is more important to train your body to get through the whole thing. --- If I keep the weights and don't finish the tape I think I am worse off than limiting the resistance and finishing!

I think we're all doing pretty good! This thing is so difficult!

Completed L1D5! I love that it's only 30mins....the 1st circuit is still a pain in the but, but I'm feeling some amazing results. I have more energy throughout the day and my legs are getting stronger. I think I'll increase the weights tomorrow.....(not with the side lunges) and do real push up.

You are all doing great and you push me everyday to do better and for that I would like to say thank you!

L1D4 complete. I think I need heavier weights, I am using 3's and they are a breeze. I am not sweating as much as I thought I would - time to move on to big girl pushups I 'spose. And no more pausing during buttkicks or jumping rope might help.

L1D6 done! I can definitely feel an improvement in my stamina! I didn't have to pause at all during the 1st circuit cardio (jumping jacks and jump rope....my nemesis!) and I used 5 lb weights the entire time. I'll be going to the gym tonight for a Zumba-esque (but tougher) class, so let's just hope I don't wear myself out and that I feel as good on day 7!

Finished L1D6 today. My legs are still sore, but I'm pushing through.... Hoping these muscles start burning some fat so I can smile at the scale again :grumble: . I'm finding it hard not to measure myself early just to see.... Need some sort of motivation...

L1D5 completed. I too have had to turn down Jillian and turn up the music. I felt like I might be coming down with something this morning, but I was still able to power through and finish my workout. Thank Goodness its less than 30 min. I feel so much better having done it. You only regret the workouts you don't do. Half Way through Level 1! Ready to bring it for the second half:)

L1D3 here. I lost a day yesterday because I had a migraine that wouldn't budge. I feel stronger but not there yet. Ready for day 4 tomorrow! Keep up the good work everyone!

hi, well i am on day 7 of the shred, and I find the push ups hard too. so i do the push up off of my exercise ball. saves my knees and this way i can modify how hard i want to do it... hope that helps :)
