Quick question. If you go on a 40 walk do you track that or do you not because it’s already tracking your steps? TIA

Weight Lifting and Cardio Effectiveness
Hello all. So I was doing just cardio (walking on an incline treadmill for 30 minutes a day). Then I threw in lifting for 20-30 minutes then a cool down with 10 minutes of the walking and I found that, both together, they have dropped my weight quicker. Anyone else find this? Is it better to lift or do cardio for a lot of…

Weight Loss and Exercise
I have been walking on the treadmill 4 miles every day, M-F, for the past 4 weeks. I have reduced my calorie intake to 1600 daily. I weigh myself every Sunday. I am becoming discouraged because I have yet to lose any weight. In fact, I have gained 4 pounds. I really feel that I am doing everything right so I just cannot…

Walks on the beach 😊
Sooo I love walking on the beach at night. I did that today and I feel great. It’s not too hot out like the day time. I hate sweating too much gives me headaches lol so night time is perfect cuz where I live it gets chilly at night. I love this app. Day 3 and I lost 4.5 pounds! I can’t believe how much I was overeating.

Keto Lifestyle
Please forgive me for the very long post, but I'm trying to make a point. I am trying Keto once again, and I have to say I am more successful this time around. I started at 165 lbs, and am down to 138 lbs. The first time I quit because I was always hungry. I didn't understand the whole net carb thing. I also started to…

Hello! I've been using MFP for 10 years, but never posted onto the community until now. The app has aided me in my health and fitness journey. I've been at a healthy weight most of my life. I've dealt with self image issues driven by low self esteem and growing up in home where mental health wasn't addressed, and poverty…

A lot to lose
Hi there, feel free to add me if you're looking for a friend who is determined...and just a little goofy/nerdy. I'm just getting back into the swing of things. I lost 95 pounds about ten years ago but I've found them all again, after a couple injuries and increasingly bad habits. I've got at least 130 to lose, with hopes…

Audiobooks For Motivation
Hi! I could tell you my long journey/story, but it mirrors so many others. I'm planning to begin increasing my walking and I'm hoping audiobooks will cure a lot of issues I have staying motivated. Does anyone have any suggestions? I loved the movie Brittany Runs A Marathon so that's sort of my vibe. I used to be an avid…

Lifting weights 4 times a week and playing Tennis 1-2 times a week. 50 lbs goal.
First time using the community side of this app. The goal last year was to lose 80 lbs. I lost 35 lbs. This year the goal is to lose 50 lbs. I have tried so many diets in the past and what I've found to really work for me is OMAD or 2MAD. I lost that 35 lbs in 3 months, from January to March 2022 and I just maintained the…

Different pedometers
Hi all! I typically try to wear my Amazon Halo when I am at work. That brand just never seems to be on list of devices that are supported. Is there a way that I can just manually type in my total steps for the day? I really can't keep my phone physically on me while I'm working.

IF(currently 20:4 mostly) and sporadic EF, with lower carbs, crossfit/lifting plus long distance wal
Hi all, I have been intermittent fasting for several years now, though in the last couple of years struggled with having shorter eating windows....so I did a lot of 2mad with a 6-7 hrs window. That said, I've recently fallen into a 20:4 pattern with some days of 2mad (without limiting time) to fit my life. I am training to…

Eat before or after walking?
Just wondering if it’s better to have something to eat for breakfast before I go for a walk or better afterwards? Does walking on an empty stomach increase cortisol- the stress hormone?

Better weightloss
So I've started going to the gym 3xpw doing 2 sessions treadmill and 1 session swim. I am sticking to 20 lengths swimming but the treadmill I need some advice on. I'm wondering is it more beneficial to do the 5k walk on an incline of 7 sub 1hr or walking for 4.30 and sprinting for 0.30 on an incline of 2. Not sure if this…

G'Day from Down Under!
I just discovered this site and I love it! I live on Bribie Island in Australia. I am retired and have been off and on diets since I was 8 years old. I have learned a lot about myself and nutrition. When I was 14 I developed my own diet and lost 20 lbs in two weeks! But we all know you can't keep that up. I have set myself…

Walk to Reduce Carb intake
https://caloriesburnedhq.com/calories-burned-walking/ My current diet is strict on my carb intake. So I am learning about a balanced diet and portion controls according to protein, carbs, and fat intake daily. I found an interesting calculator that shows, according to my weight, how many calories I burn while walking. I…
