  • you look great! sometimes we are so much harder on ourselves ;)
  • I think I do need to start looking up... ha! I literally have been so determined that the only way I could push through was wear a hat and turn my music up but I won't look at people when they look at me... I guess I should be a bit friendlier:) Thanks!
  • 1) Yes I would think constantly about food - planning out my meals for the day - when the next time I could eat - was I staying within my portion limits - how did I do yesterday.... constantly. I'd say in the last month or so it has finally slowed down for the first time in my life and I attribute this to I've now changed…
  • :) it helped me when I got frustrated, just know that it will go away! :)
  • I do this on my lunch hour workouts so I try to keep my resting to a minimum and alternate muscle groups so I can keep moving: Warmup (I jog/run for 5 minutes) Plank (30-60 seconds) Kettle bell swing (I use a 25lb bell here and do 2 hand swing or 20 lb bell with 1 hand swing) - 25-30 reps 10-12 arm rows using 20 lb kettle…
  • I had a c-section too and I started working out consistently 2 months afterwards but it hasn't been until I truly made sure I was doing a calorie deficit that I started to finally lose that lower pouch. I found success in lifting more weights and I weighed everything or measured my food because although I thought I was…
  • Incredible! You sound like you really have found your stride and have made complete, healthy life changes for yourself. It's very hard in the beginning but it's so rewarding and the best part is you did it for YOU! Congratulations and thanks for sharing:)!
  • I kept running into the same frustrations after my daughter was born and even after almost a year of working out and eating healthy - it was when I truly weighed and measured all my food and became extremely careful about everything I ate did a see a difference. At least in my case I was eating pretty healthy but was…
  • roasted shallot vinagraitte: saute a shallot in olive oil with salt and pepper (or can roast in oven on baking sheet) after that is carmelized - throw in a blender with 1/2 cup of white balsamic vinegar, 1/3 cup olive oil, salt, pepper & a bit of dried oregano and blend. keeps well in fridge:
  • you can create your own - definitely look at videos and put together a plan that will work. one i started with: squats with high kicks (20) - warm up push ups tricep push ups back step lunges plank front step lunges plank Repeat - try not to rest too long since you'll be working different muscles in each group
  • I'm someone who has been active and exercised all my life but I do understand how you feel. After I had my daughter I felt so out of shape and physically exhausted and weak that to go to the gym was a struggle. I did have to force myself to go and workout but gradually I started to feel better about myself and even if I…
  • keep doing what you are doing - it sounds like right now you can't do much of anything physically but you can control what you put in your body. drink as much water as possible to help stay hydrated and track what you eat and stay within your daily calories. If you at least do this it will help you so much more when you…
  • I totally understand and when I miss a day I am just not the same and totally beat myself up for it. For me too I've noticed I need the workout to help me handle the stresses better in my day - so if I miss a day I'm also more anxious and not as clear minded and focused. It's good to talk it out - and keep telling yourself…
  • sugar free caramels - take a while to dissolve but do the trick for me:)
  • My little girl is 23 months - and these past 3-4 months I've really been working to leaning that out as much as possible... it's so hard but it's slowly coming off...;)
  • I get a salad with lettuce, chicken and extra mild salasa (which serves as the dressing) - i do not use their salad dressing and this is only 240 calories - but filling:)
  • chug (I mean you will most likely have to force yourself to do this) water - I have a 32 oz bottle and when I feel myself getting hungry, I force myself to drink two of those before I eat since many times dehydration can mask as hunger. After drinking that water I will usually not be as hungry if I still am hungry and then…

  • make small daily goals - part of those should be to do more activity each day and build up. walking is a great place to start. diet is the other part - and again figure out your calorie goals but start slow - even if it is accurately tracking what you eat each day so you can be honest about it and then start to try to…
  • what you're doing is a start but I'd recommend exactly what was said - it should be a struggle to do reps 12-15 (meaning muscles are hurting and your heart is pounding)... if you're only doing 10 reps each of those - increase them to 15 and if you can keep doing more than 15, increase the weight. if you're only doing arms…
  • Not only is it a great way to burn a lot of calories but it's an even better way to create a good workout routine and start to feel good about yourself. It usually is a workout that most people, don't dread or make excuses as to not do it - you tend to look forward to it:)
in zumba Comment by jocey517 May 2015
  • i walked as much as I could for the first 6-8 weeks, tried running around 7 weeks but it really hurt and set my healing back. 8-10 weeks i gradually started jogging and doing Zumba and then after 10 weeks added weight lifting. abs and planks still would hurt and that took a while to build up gradually. I worked out through…
  • i'm having one of those days today - struggling right now and chugging water to try to fill my stomach before I eat. I get frustrated especially when yesterday I ate so well but c'est la vie:)
  • try zumba dvd's. its a fun way to workout by dancing and you can burn a significant amount of calories. if you enjoy your workout you won't skip it as much and then it will become part of your routine. Plus the endorphin's you will get from working out will help you feel better:)
  • eggs (if you can do hard-boiled but i personally don't like those) - scrambled with diced veggies or salsa on-top. or if i can't cook, low-sodium almonds (count out the portion amount) and an apple or 1/2 grapefruit. :)
  • I do it every day - it's the only way i can fit in a consistent workout between working full time and then my baby girl at night. Mine is across the street but my colleague has one she drives too that 5-10 minutes away. to be honest it's been great. i really have learned to push myself too in the 35 minutes I have to make…
