I know I've been quiet for a couple of weeks, but I am for sure in for May. I need to get back to at least moderation and keeping it to the weekends.

Same here too Julie with my spouse. I keep hoping to be leading by example, and he will finally come around. I hope the same for you as well.

I have mine own shame, every time I come back to the thread to say I had a damp day or days. But I know its all good we all support everyone by not judging.
-
And I will join both of you.....

I am like @lporter229 , I don't get to check this thread on the weekends, it's murder to do through my phone. Something I did notice over this weekend is how strong the smell of alcohol is when you're not drinking it. It makes me shudder to think of all the times I had a drink or so and didn't want anyone to know. But now…

I agree that was a very inspiring post to read.

Ok 2 days down again AF. Feeling great about my decision again this morning. It wasn't as hard to talk myself out of it last night as it was the night before. Why did I start the process all over again? Reminder for me and everyone else out there, the restart stinks, it's like the beginning of a new diet. It's much better…

I'm a day late but I'm in again too. I just got back from spring break where I actually exercised a ton. But I also fell into thinking I was relaxing and drinking every night for 5 days in row. Ugh, and now looking back it wasn't worth the crap I felt in the morning. I had such a good month of March with limited drinking…

I feel like Sunday nights are my hardest to not "reward" myself after a great week.

This is a good start by coming here and actually writing out what you want. I know that has helped me so much. I can come here and say whatever, no one judges just listens and offers what advice they can. Keep coming here, read everyone's stories. A lot of us were are where you are.

I haven't noticed this in myself but it is interesting. Did it by chance reduce cramps as well? Great job on the good week!

YAY!

Hey all. Sorry I haven't checked in yet this week. I have done really well though, exercised 5 out of 7 days and 2 days with a couple of drinks. But what I'm most excited about is that I'm down 5 pounds since starting this journey. Like Norm said, I've had a coworker mention to me too about my pants looking big. I am…

@MissMay Thanks! I'm totally fine, just a hurt ego. And now have to pay the deductible. I guess another good reason not to drink and save money for, lol

I wrecked my car yesterday morning, which would have been a run to the bottle as soon as I got home from work in the past. Don't get me wrong, I almost said 'eff work and picked up a bottle and just went home and back to bed. But I cried was pissed at myself and stuck it out the whole day instead. I even ran after work to…

Hello all. I had a mostly dry weekend. Just a few drinks Sunday evening before bed. I'm still relishing in the fact that my clothes are fitting me better and better. I'm trying to use this as my motivating force. I've found that the more I step away from the bottle, the more sober days I have and enjoy them, the more now…

Well after staying the course because I didn't loose any weight last week, even though I was AF, I'm happy to report that I'm down a pound this week! Thanks guys for recommended more water, I pounded the water bottle hard this week instead of the bottle, LOL. Happy Friday!

My final February count....20 days AF and 8 damp. No hangovers!!!!!
-
Of course I'm back and in again for March!

February was my first month of moderating and cutting back. I drank a few dozen times but more nights then not I was sober. That's more then I've done in a long time. And even better those nights I did drink I didn't over do it one time. I've had a lot of mentally clarity, and I'm making exercise my main focus every…

@SanDiegofitmom @salleewins Have you been working out more? If yes, it’s water weight. Try drinking a lot of water and see if it helps! I had the same thing in Jan. But then ended up dropping 4 pounds.[/quote] Yes, I've changed my diet for more protein intake. I am drinking water, but maybe not as much as last week. And…

No scale victories for me this week and I was AF. Now I can see what some of you are saying, why be AF if it didn't tip the scale down. But I will admit that my pants fit me better around the belly this week. I'm hoping some of the liquor belly is starting to disappear at least. I'm going to go for an AF weekend, and…

I've found Annie Grace's videos from the Alcohol experiment are helpful to listen to along with the book. She does repeat a little bit, but I need that. I listen to them everyday to work.

Good morning all. I made it through Friday-Sunday AF, but then had a couple last night. After having the day off yesterday I decided to reward myself. Didn't drink too much but I feel that it was enough to do me for awhile again. Going for an AF week, I had a small reward on the scale last week, it'd be nice to see that…

Good morning. Loved catching up on all of your stories from last night. I had really talked myself into believing that my husband was going to stop and pick up a bottle last night. I starting convincing myself before my run, even if he did I wasn't going to drink any. I had serious doubts about that, I think that's why I…

I know it's hard, we want everything we want and we want it right now. At least that's me, lol I keep reminding myself of the hard work that HAS to be put in.
-
My husband is trying to pick up the cues too I feel. He's still drinking more then me, but he has taken several nights off as well. Here's hoping we can continue to be positive role models!

I'm a runner, so I not only am trying to cut back on alcohol, but I'm focusing on a new training plan as well. I'm only into the first week of training but I can tell the nightly exercise is definitely beneficial. I'm not sure if I'll loose any weight yet, but I feel like I shouldn't gain this way, even if I eat a bit more…

This describes me perfectly too!! Just any "ol reason I could come up with would work!

Good morning. Thought I'd check in and lay out my plans for the week. I'm at 13, 11 days AF and 2 days of planned drinking last Friday and Saturday. I'll be out of town this weekend with early wake ups, Saturday and Sunday. I'm going to try and go 2 weeks at least maybe longer without a drink. I feel better and more…
