  • 5/9 25 minutes hatha stretching poses, 35 minute meditative walk along the canal.
  • Oh yes, I'm in. My home practice has long been ignored. My goal is at least 30 minutes 3 times a week of home practice and to find someplace for a class once a week. I discovered I had arthritis in my spine when I was 18, I am 47 now, if I establish a regular practice, I'm good, if not, snap, crackle pop, lol.
  • Hands down one of my fav http://www.skinnytaste.com/crock-pot-bolognese-sauce/ Can freeze leftovers for an even easier meal! Good luck & enjoy "crocking"!
  • Thanks dk- I love stuffed peppers of all kinds- know what you mean about the "fall" food- hubby coached for a while so we are used to the August starts- not baseball fans so its a LONG time between Hockey and football.
  • It has been years since I was a veggie :) I did a lot of reading then and what I found most valuable was to pair legumes and whole grains to make a complete protein. I found when I did that I was more satisfied with my meals. I make a veggie burger out of black beans, brown rice and quinoa that is a protein power house.…

  • Hi ya, sent a friend request. Same story different person- lost a bunch kept it off, creeps back up.... This staying healthy thing as we become wiser (lol) can be a challenge- one that I feel lucky to have. I used to be a bit of a gym rat but kids, work & life make it tough. My primary exercise is hiking with the pup, yoga…
  • When I'm really craving a filling snack I make a brown rice pudding- cooked brown rice & almond milk (substitue coconut or soy) simmered until thick, with vanilla, cinnamon, dried cranberries etc.. I've done something similar with quinoa - I usually cook a batch of GF grains and this is how I use it up. This time of year I…
  • I've used pureed shelled edamame (Cooked/steamed cooled) at a cup to cup for avocado ratio, I do increase the herbs and spices- lime & cilantro is the key for me.
  • I think a doc visit would be a good idea too! A physical with blood-work could be insightful. Then if something is off (example- cholesterol) work on lowering it with a solid program. Good luck, the fact you have not gained is great!!!

  • There are lots of reasons for avoiding "bad" foods. Allergy, health issues, complexion issues etc.. your business is your own, politely brush it off and if you have to say something, you can always say its a health issue I don't want to discuss. Good luck and stay strong, your doing this for the best possible reason-…
  • 46 & counting, 50 if we round up :) .... count me in, I am back after a year off- should say up..... Would love like minded friends!!!
  • Count me in on Momma Natures carnival ride. Some good will come of it, but this whole chunky thing is tough. Back on MFP wagon, when I checked in (its been about a year)- I was back to my original #'s, uggg, could be worse. Would love like minded "flashing" 40's friends... the struggle is real!
  • Amy Brown- I am whittling away at my exercise today- 10 minute walk, 10 minute gardening.... I plan on taking my pup for a brisk walk/jog later- its gorgeous weather here :)
  • 44 new this week to MFP. Looking for 40ish friends for motivation and support.
  • Congrats- I just started with MFP this week.
  • WW is a great program- it promotes healthy eating, portion sizes and exercise. I lost 80+ pounds on it years ago- then I did Fat&Fiber. I have kept off 45+ of it over the years. I have been on and off WW for years with the "points" system. If you find a meeting with people and a leader you click with- it is great. Online-…
  • I figure starting over is better than continuing on the "wrong" path. So for the millionth and one time- here I go-lol
