I never track seasonings, most are comprised of salt and various herbs, which have 0 calories. You will be hard pressed to find a calorie reading on any seasonings you use. Large amounts of sodium will make your body retain water temporarily, so I'd worry more about tracking sodium content over calories in seasonings.

When I was doing Keto, I would get the pee strips from CVS/Walgreens. They change color based on the amount of key tones in your body and are super cheap. I think I got a pack of 100 for about $5 or $6. Definitely a must have while on a keto regiment.

Life is a constant learning experience. Now you are 10x better than before and will be able to execute far better. Hard to believe you're 44.

You're gorgeous, how could you possibly be ashamed?!?! Stay focused and positive, your body will change when you give it no choice but to. Keep your chin up and pushing forward.

40 year old nerd, I've overcome a lot, terrible divorce, depression, low T and obesity. Feel free to add and ask me anything you want.

Just hit 40 last March, approaching 41 this month... It hit me pretty hard mentally and then I told myself,.. "it's just another one of the other 39 birthdays I've had" At 37+ my metabolism started to slow to a crawl and despite a perfect diet and routine exercise. It doesn't get easier, but I HIGHLY recommend (for guys at…

Welcome! Anytime is a good time to start your resolution :) From my experience, the things that helped me the most was not beating myself up after caving in on something like a Friday or Saturday night. Pick it up and keep moving, find your motivation (mine was a divorce lol) and push forward. Some weeks you may feel like…

Always looking for more support to give and receive!

This is gospel! So glad those negative experienced turned into such a positive for you. I had a similar experience and it took me a long time to find out who I actually was inside. Love hearing stuff like this!

Always looking for more peeps and motivators! It's tough to keep it going sometimes.

Absolutely!!! While in a calorie deficient, it is possible to gain muscle while cutting, the gains won't be huge by any means but you can gain strength and muscle for sure. But remember, if you are in a calorie surplus, you will gain much more muscle, but you will not be able to lose any fat at all.

I followed a morning fasting routine for about 6 months, and it was torture without results. I have also found that meal timing is irrelevant. A better way to look at it is your "weekly intake" over the course of a week. Your body doesn't care about when you eat day/night, but it does care about it's totals over the course…

Strange, not one person has mentioned body fat percentage. Do you know what your current body fat percentage is? Calipers or a good scale can give you a good estimate. The reason I mention it, is because it's pretty well known that very low body fat percentages is a primary cause of low libido/sex drive. Many super low…

Wow, so much awesome info thank you guys so much!!! Sounds like I'm going to start eating breakfast again. Have you been able to build muscle while on keto? I know losing body fat becomes a pieces of cake, which is what I'm gunning for, but how's the building/bulking ability?

Pasta is fine as a source for carbs. I personally prefer regular pasta over whole wheat or brown rice pasta just because I don't like the texture.

I always have a few pieces of fruit on hand for when this happens to me. I try to keep it simple and take really portable stuff like bananas, apples etc. My favorite is grapes though. They are cheap, healthy, sweet, and satisfy me until the next meal. Absolutely nothing wrong with having a single cookie to satisfy a sweet…

Hi Hannah, welcome to the MFP community. I was in a similar situation about 3 years ago when I began my fitness journey. What worked for me, was making small changes here and there that I could commit myself to. I had tried to lose weight before, but I'd always end up hitting the gym in combination with what I considered…

Let's do this!!

I personally keep my fats between 20-30 percent of my total calorie intake. For me, keeping my fats low has been the biggest challenge so far, but since less calories come from carbs and protein, it's easier to stay fuller like that throughout the day.

When I started with MFP, weight loss was my goal. Well I got the weight off, now I'm macro'ing everything and building muscle. What a crazy journey it's been so far, and I'm just getting started.

Interested to hear results of this from other users. I've been interested in this approach as well. Seems a little crazy, but I've heard lots of good things, even from pro athletes.

Cheesecake... I can live off of it, breakfast lunch and dinner. I just can't eat it anymore... It's my weakness haha.

Thank you all! What an amazing community I have discovered. I can't believe how long I've been using this app only to now discover this incredible group of people.

Hi Dar_Line86! I feel your pain when it comes to the plateau. It can be really demotivating to continuously put in so much work, and the scale doesn't move. For me, every time I hit one, (and it happened quite a bit) I just kept at it. I ignored the scale. I would go a week, 2 weeks, sometimes 3 weeks, and it seemed like I…

That is awesome to hear! 6lbs down you'll never have to deal with again! Keep up the new lifestyle, and it'll fall off without even thinking about it. Welcome to the MFP community, and good luck on your journey!
