  • I watched a programme a couple of weeks back which basically said that gps find it difficult to bring up the subject of weight in a 10min appointment slot. They trialled requesting all patients to get weighed as part of the booking in process and it meant that the conversations were easier. It also meant that patients…
  • Have you considered having your thyroid tested if you feel tired all the time? One of the things that has fallen apart with me since turning 30 is my thyroid and getting the energy to do anything felt almost impossible for a while.
  • Yoga with adrienne all the way.
  • I've not set up my goals yet. Going to treat my next weigh in as my new start point. Before i got pregnant i lost 36lbs and what helped is having mini goals every few pounds - bmi points, % lost, 10s of lbs etc. Put it all back on and then some so going to be a bit of a slog to get back on track but i know that i can do it…
  • I set my calories to maintenance but too early to tell if that was right or not (2 weeks tomorrow)
  • Protein is my friend. Keeps me feeling full when carbs don't cut it (having said that - i tons of carbs too!). I guess it's a case of having protein and veg for each meal and having extra veg where you would usually have carbs? Sorry, not much help but hopefully a little.
  • The official guidance is that breastfeeding burns an extra 500cals per day. Which is great but you have to eat plenty too - i didn't the first time round and wasn't producing enough milk because of it (my theory). As far as account settings - i changed mine to maintenance but then stopped logging pretty quickly. My basic…
  • Definitely fatigue. And feeling queasy all the time. At the moment the rubbish weather is stopping me walking and feeling sick is stopping my yoga. But I'd probably make fewer excuses if it wasn't for the fatigue!
  • I don't have a routine either but try to do regular walking and yoga. Getting too cold for walking most of the time now so might start swimming as soon as i can find a swimsuit! Xx
  • Just 5 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. This year i have finally managed to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle and have gone from obese to overweight losing 36lbs (target was 54lb). Obviously weightloss is off the cards now but i want to maintain my healthy and active life so that hopefully birth and following weight…
  • Hi. The new challenge group is open. I can't put the link up just now but the group is called Game of thrones challenge - storm of swords. Just say that ive sent you when you ask to join. :)
  • I walk to work whenever i can - really sets me up for the day (or night). Been a bit rubbish over the last month - far too much sugar, not enough exercise - but walking to work is the one thing i kept up. Xx
  • No. You can opt out for the week.
  • I'll let you know when it starts and let the organisers know that you want to join. It should be 11th october as i said.
  • Yep. I'm counting it as a win.
  • I managed to do an hour's exercise and was over my calories on sunday by 1 calorie. I'm not in a very positive mood at the moment so managing to exercise is the limit on what i could do for that. Anyone else?
  • Yup. They set different amounts of cardio, strength and flexibility exercises to be done each week as well as other things such as a certain video or walking/running so many miles - all sorts really. I take it you want in?
  • There might be a new game of thrones challenge starting on 11th october. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll pass it on to the group organisers.
  • Ok let's do it next weekend. I've managed to keep it green but not the other 2 anyway. Been at work all weekend. Next weekend I'm on nights so have more time for exercise.
  • Didn't see this until now but did a 35min yoga session. It was a stress reliever which i chose as for some reason I've been completely out of control stressed today. Much more chilled now! B)
  • All sorts of stuff really. Each week had target minutes for cardio, strength and flexibility exercises (hence starting yoga) plus other challenges such as walk/run 15 miles or eat a rainbow of colours. Hopefully they'll be doing another one soon.
  • I walk my dogs and try my best to walk to work (although sometimes the car is too tempting, especially if the weather's bad). Otherwise the rest of my exercise is done at home - fitnessblender and yoga with adriene on youtube as well as darebee exercise sheets. I'm part of a challenge group on here (it's about to end :'( )…
  • Get into the habit of weighing food. Use smaller plates/bowls and always use a plate/bowl instead of eating from tupperware etc. These things help me to stay within my limits. If I'm hungry after finishing a meal i tell myself that I'll have something more to eat in 15mins and often by that point I'm ok and don't need to…
  • Feel like I'm getting better at yoga - think I'm a bit more flexible but also it just feels better when I'm doing it. Lost another cm from my waist and 3 from my hips. Able to walk 5miles without aching all over afterwards. 25hrs exercise in august (if today goes to plan).
  • 1lb down taken the august total weight loss to 4lb (aiming for 5lb but happy with 4) and now i have 21lb to target weight. Aiming for another 4lb loss in September.
  • Not a morning person myself so kudos to you megan. I would suggest that you start taking pride in what your body can do now that you're becoming fitter. I feel like i will always have days (weeks/months!) Where i don't like how i look so I've started focusing on i can do ... better, I'm a smaller size/weigh less, my bmi…
  • I'm amy, a yoga newbie from the uk. I really like 30 days of yoga. Done it a couple of times through and starting to branch out into more of adrienes videos. I've found it a great introduction to yoga and one day I'll be brave enough to go to a yoga class.
  • Hi. I'm amy. I'm 29, from the uk and have 1 son and 3 dogs. I recognise finn from the GoT challenge, so hi! I don't really have a story. I've just got gradually more overweight over time until 216lb in January. Now I'm down by 32lb and i want to lose another 22lb. I started by cutting back what i ate and now I'm working on…
