I get takeout with my boyfriend typically twice a week. If it is something I can easily add and doesn't make me go crazy over, I will log it correctly. Otherwise at the end of the day I will just quick add to get my balance after excercise to zero. I do tend to leave a decent amount of calories behind each day (due to…

I don't honestly know myself because I don't have/don't want any children, but I will say that there are a boatload of entries for "breastfeeding" as a food with -500 calories.

I log my food in MFP and my exercise through FitBit automatically. However if you have them synced up to each other then you don't want to be manually adding any exercise (unless it's something that you're not wearing your FitBit for).

If you look up My Big Fat Diet Show on YouTube, they had a lower cal Sunday Roast recipe :) It's Episode 4, part 2.

Most of the time my eating out is chicken pad thai with maybe some crab rangoon, so I tend to log the PF Chang's one. I have no clue how accurate that is to my little hole in the wall Thai place, but it was at the high end of average. Realistically though, I'm in this for the long haul and my deficit is set to 750 a day…

I think your calories burned is probably higher than it actually is - you're posting huge numbers every day. Typically people recommend you start by eating back half your exercise calories and seeing how that goes. I'd also recommend picking better entries when you're logging - you've got a lot of entries that say generic…

I got orange chicken and steamed white rice from a Chinese place near my apartment. I don't regret eating it for dinner, but I regret that the portion size was so huge that I ended up also having it for breakfast and lunch the next day, because I didn't want to waste the money :/

What are your stats? I'm a woman at 5'3 and 218 and right now my calories are 1340 (losing 1.5 lbs a week), so 1800 sounds high to me. Even if you're eating 1500 calories most days that may be high. I understand that a nutritionist is likely way more qualified than I am, but unless you plan on still under-eating by several…

I have...I guess a toning thing? Because with my profile on one side my butt looks terrible, but with the other profile it looks downright peachy :|

If you've got FitBit and MFP linked up you need to have MFP set to sedentary and have negative calories enabled. I've never independently monitored it, but your calorie burn number matches mine, at least. I'm 230ish and 5'3 and on a day that was beyond nuts I did 17k steps and got 1,399 MFP exercise calories and on the…

Here's the thing, though - whether or- not you start on a Monday, Monday is going to come and then Tuesday and then suddenly the whole week has gone by. Even if you mess up, even if it's not perfect, I would think a Monday where you put some effort in (watched what you ate, maybe get some exercise in) is going to yield…

Also, have you updated your calorie goals lately? I had a bad surprise when I realized that by logging my weight through FitBit MFP had my updated weight but wasn't smart ebough to go, "Ok, so if you weigh Y now, you need Z calories."

I'm in the US so I'm assuming things are about the same, but I found out I had really high blood pressure in February - I knew I wasn't eating super awesomely, but I didn't think it was terrible, you know? What I've found since then is that processed food has a lot of sodium in it. Some of the foods that I found…

I would pick one and stick with it - I think what's more important are the trends and not necessarily the actual numbers. If it were me, I'd pick the home scale.

I don't do low carb so this may not be relevant for you, but I eat pasta at least 5 nights a week. I switch between spaghetti, elbows, and penne and either Barilla's veggie pasta or the protein one. Depending on how hungry I am a normal serving is 70-100 grams dry weight. I will say that I feel like I get more bang for my…

Yep :) It's under the Progress tab, then at the top it might say Weight or something, but if you click that you can select other things, then click the plus button at the top right to add an entry.

I'm losing weight and have a looooong way to go, so I've struggled with this too. I would just keep in mind that a) It's OK to look at things on a weekly basis vs daily - if you haven't already done it this time, maybe next time you can save up some extra calories when you know there's going to be a splurge b) Even if you…

I wouldn't keep rolling them over indefinitely, but I don't think it's a bad idea to consider each week as a whole. I know that I've eaten lighter some days when I decide I want Chinese takeout for dinner on Friday night.

a) Have you actually tried measuring/weighing/counting food before? Personally I don't find it too bad, unless I'm making something with a lot of ingredients, but it literally takes like three minutes tops, per meal. b) You 100% don't have to count what you eat, but then you lose like 90% of your right to complain that…

a) You should definitely watch Secret Eaters, you can find some episodes on YouTube b) I kind of did this yesterday. I knowingly/purposefully had Chinese takeout for dinner. I didn't measure anything, but I tried to highball the numbers. I know I was going to be over yesterday (although I don't think I ate over…

It's honestly a lot of label reading. Ideally yes, it'd be best to make everything from scratch but I don't know how realistic it is for you - it's honestly not in the cards for me. Some of the things that surprised me the most when I started looking was how much sodium was in pasta sauce, shrimp, cheese, deli meat, and…

Was any exercise/activity logged for those days? My guess is that on the day you ate more you also burned a lot more so your net was less. For example, if we compare my active day yesterday to my lazy one today Ate 1,567 - burned 417 = 1,150 net (....which I now see is a little low, whoops) Ate 1,386 - burned 71 = 1,350…

I've got a friend who still has his streak and he's had several days within the last two weeks where I think he literally logged in, maybe liked a post, and that was it. If you're able to check in enough to log water, I think you'll be ok.

I've been watching a lot of BBC shows lately, like Supersize vs Superskinny, Secret Eaters, Fat Doctor (which is like my 600lb life), and Fat Family. It sounds horrible, but part of why I watch them is to feel thus sense of relief that I'm nowhere near that bad. (Also I crack up at Supersize vs Superskinny, when they go,…

I'm 5'3" and 231 now, which is only down about 13 lbs in the last 6-7 weeks. Some days I feel like I can see something, some days I can't. Some days I feel like maybe my arms seem a teeny bit smaller, some days I feel like maybe my stomach isn't quite as jiggly when I touch it. I know that I'm making progress though,…
