Hi all, Well, am going to start a Bible study tomorrow for 14 weeks. We'll set goals, read scripture, do some fun stuff like coloring in our Bibles, etc. I need help, as both knees are bad, and I'm considered high risk for surgery because of my weight/BMI. So- Age: 72 CW- 247 GW- 170 Started with MFP years ago and was…

Hi all you wonderful women! I haven't logged in awhile. Trying to get my head in a good place. I miss my husband and am tired from doing everything. I have lost 'some' weight in past 6 months but have stalled. It's hard at 72, to do. My Fitbit broke. Any suggestions on a new one? But still need to get back to logging my…

Any recommendations for a new Fitbit? I've read some reviews but am on the fence.

Hi again, wanted to edit my post above. This is the question: A year from now (or this weekend), what do you wish you'd started or continued? Amber sets goals vs resolutions and I like that. She's on Facebook if you're interested. Thank you Raven St. Cloud for doing this!!! Oh and wanted to ask- my fitbit is shot so…

This is finngirl, and I've been very behind but going to catch up this weekend. I wish you all a wonderful 2023! One thing I wanted to pass along was from Amber Bolton who does online Bible studies. She posed one question- 'A year from now, or this weekend, what do you wish you had started (or continued) this weekend? So…

@justanotherloser007 - remember that you've lost 130 lb! I've lost 35 for past few years, but this year only 15. I feel stuck but hoping to get my head in a better place. So your progress is awesome!

@justanotherloser007 - I feel your pain. You sound sad, and I understand. Since my spouse died last year I've had to take care of everything and I'm angry and some days I feel like 'what's the point'. Hold on for now- stay the course. Better days are ahead for us. Do you have a friend to talk to or a therapist? Are you…

Hi ladies, Haven't been here for awhile and missed you!! I'm going to go back and catch up with entries. I'm 11 lbs down but still 251. Long way to go. I've had trouble emotionally dealing with husband passing away last June. Seems like yesterday. So trying to hang on and take one day at a time, and not eat when I'm sad.…

Hi again, Need some motivation. 1 yr Anniversary of husband's death last week. Am 71, CW is 259, down from 262. Slow going. But I wonder sometimes, what's the point. Need to lose weight because of knee. Surgery down the road. Getting an injection this week. Just feeling discouraged. Thanks. Maybe try intermittent fasting…

Hi all, good to see new people and congratulations to those who have had success! I had hoped to lose just one pound for the week-geeze. But nope. So increasing my protein and hope for better news next week. I hate drinking water- occasionally I'll have Propel or Powerade (no sugar). But am a coffee drinker. Will try to add…

Hi, finngirl here. I'm reading all your posts for inspiration. Starting a Bible study, and part of it is goal setting, so including health and weight loss as one of my goals. I'm 71, weight 259, goal weight is 170. Anniversary of my husband passing away is coming up June 21st. It will be one year. So am nervous and sad and…

I haven't made a comment in a few weeks. But reading all your posts is so helpful- whether it's a NSV or a struggle or encouragement. I over did some outside work last weekend and both knees are hurting. My right knee is bone on bone. I've had 2 injections and he wants me to lose weight before any surgery. My motivation is…

Hi all you wonderful, strong ladies. I haven't posted in awhile. And tonight I've been reading through your April comments. I have up for awhile, because in March, I got my AAA travel magazine in the mail and after seeing all the trips that I will never take with my husband. He passed away last June and it's been so hard.…

Hi all, Have been re-reading your posts to get ideas, motivation, and support. Thank you all! I looked back on when I started keeping track, and it was 2012. I was 290 lbs and wow. I was in planning stage of getting married. Since then, I'm down to 260, but it's been that way for past few years. In meantime, my husband…

So question- as you lose weight, the alloted calories go down right? Unless you do a lot of exercise. It may seem silly, but the thought of 'less food' daily kinda scares me. But keeping track is a good thing, so just have to get my head in a good place.

@justanotherloser007 - thanks so much for your advice!!! I had more success when I ate more eggs so going back to that. Hard boiled worked for me. I haven't tried egg whites. Do you cook them? I like the Greek yogurt- 12 gms of protein and only 80 calories. I don't check my macros. But good idea. I don't like fish or…

@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 - prayers for a successful surgery and please keep us posted. By this time next week, it will be over and you'll be healing and feeling better! 😊❤

Hi ladies, So enjoying reading your posts. No matter what obstacles are on your way, you still keep writing, tracking your foods, etc. I'm in a stuck place. Still dealing or not dealing with losing my husband last June. One day is ok then the next not so good. So meals are hit and miss. And not enough protein. 70 years old…

Hi ladies and a big thank you to @RavenStCloud for keeping this group going! I've been reading everyone's posts- you are all so amazing. I haven't posted in awhile but am tracking my food. Last year I in April I turned 70. Boy, it's harder to lose weight as you get older. Then in June, my husband passed away unexpectedly.…

@Jtchowski2 - welcome and you've made a good start by joining MFP. I've been logging off and on for quite a while. Sometimes 1 step forward and 2 steps back. It's a day at a time. Some good some more difficult. I find that reading these posts give me information and inspiration. I lost my husband last year and some days…

Hi ladies, Thanks for the one reply- I forgot that January isn't posted yet!!! Duh. I've been off MFP for awhile. My husband unexpectedly passed away in June and I've been up and down since then. So I'm going to make an effort to get back on. I'm 70, weigh 262, bad knees- so struggling with all kinds of issues, especially…
