I'm finally below the pre-birthday shenanigans weight!!!!! It took a week but now I'm able to breathe easier and not focus on the backwards movement. I'm sticking with hoping I just don't gain anything thru the end of the year. If I can get below 220 lb by year end I'll do a happy dance but I'm not going to deprive myself at celebrations and holiday gatherings either. I'm just going to try and stick closer to overall maintenance. I'll have some lower at a loss days and some over indulgent days balancing each other out.
This week is National School Lunch Week so the schools here are doing special lunches... Chicken & Waffles, Walking Tacos, Asian Chicken & Veggie Dumplings, Hotdogs with Chili & Cheese... plus additional options for sunbutter & jelly sandwiches, Turkey or Ham charcuterie boxes and other goodies not normally on the menu. Therefore, instead of my daughter only buying lunch once a week I'm letting her buy every day this week. Actually, I'm kind of jealous of some of these lunches.
Also in food news, my office family day had ordered way more food than needed so I was sent home with an entire pan of smoked pulled pork. I made fried rice and I topped a few baked potatoes with some but I froze a bunch of bags with about 4oz in each so if you have any great ideas on how to use multiple pounds of pulled pork other than sliders, pizza, fried rice, nachos, ramen or quesadilla I'm all ears. I used small bags for each single portion and it filled an entire gallon bag plus I have 2 portions still in the fridge. That doesn't even count what I and my friend ate before I portioned it out. Please spam me with recipes and ideas!
Tonight we're supposed to hit Zumba class but after the craziness of the weekend I am just exhausted and think I might take a mental health break for dancing today. Tomorrow is ladies bible study and Wednesday is my daughter's volleyball so unless I do some at home exercise I won't be at the gym for me again until Thursday so I'm hesitant to miss tonight. I just feel so burnt out. We didn't come home from the neighbor's birthday, which was supposed to be 11am to 2pm, until about 6:30pm. It was fun but the exhaustion is real.
Before I forget! If you're wondering what "food holiday" we have today.... it's National Angel Food Cake Day but I'm not planning on baking any cakes today so no food holiday celebrations just yet.
@KacyCarpe I love your focus on habits!
@DianaGetsFit512 Post baby is hard. You already have so much going on and changing all the time as they grow. I’d like a new challenge too so I’m all ears.
@CupcakeCrusoe I’m always a bit jealous of your pizza Fridays. Now I’m even more jealous of your sprouting pom tree. Hoping it takes off and grows well!
@KeriA I have a Ninja Foodie XL so it’s a pressure cooker, slow cooker and air fryer all in one. Maybe you can set things on the slow cook function of your Instapot. Also, if you can find an afternoon or time on a weekend to do meal preps that you can freeze and pop in the slow cook or pressure cook on days that homemade isn’t feasible it could make it easier on dinners. Especially with soup/stew season upon us.

Happy October, everyone!
It's good to be home from that crazy celebrity photo-shoot (oops, wedding) and recent travels.
Now, with cooler temperatures, the approaching holidays, and no future event on the calendar to starve for, it's more important than ever for me to log every calorie and to visit this encouraging forum to stay on track for weight loss.
My starting weight: 215
Current weight: 185
October goal: 182
Goal weight: 175, then re-set
A few reach-outs:
Welcome, @jojo20218! Maybe you could try changing up your 8-hour eating windows to help keep hunger pangs away? This works for me. Intermittent fasting really helps me, but I vary my 8-hour window for eating when I feel the urge to splurge. If I need to begin eating at 8am instead of noon, that's okay. I begin each of my 8-hour windows for eating with protein. Good luck to you!
@justanotherloser007: For me, sometimes you just gotta candy. A few days ago, I ate an entire Baby Ruth bar - and not a normal one, but the entire honking sharing size that has two complete bars inside the wrapper! But the important thing is, I don't do that often, and I logged every one of the 462 calories involved in that candy crush. Right there in MFP under lunch, not snacks. With a light salad for dinner, I was still relatively on track, even macro wise. And if I had denied myself the treat, and eaten 6000 calories of salmon in order to try and satisfy my craving that day instead, I would still be craving the candy bar, or three (!).
@CupcakeCrusoe: great progress! I thought about asking you to stay on maintenance for another week or two -- then I could make it my goal to catch up with you (ha!), but of course, we all have our own rate of progress and I'll still get much satisfaction watching yours while I trail along behind. As I've read your posts these past few months, I definitely think you're going to reach your 150 goal, and sooner than you anticipate.
Have a great month, y'all !

A little late to this post but looking for some accountability. I’m so disappointed in myself for gaining 30 pounds this year but ready to turn things around. October goals are to get back to basics and start honestly tracking my food and make better food choices. I’d like to get down to 175 by the end of this month. SW 182.5 UGW 140. Favorite October treat is anything pumpkin spice and Halloween candy. Goal for the holiday months is to find some non food traditions.2

Good morning everyone!
179.3 this morning. Eh, wild weekend full of treats. I think once this batch of halloween candy is gone, I'm going to get a kind that the kids and my husband like, but I don't. And TOM. Ugh. Oh well, back on track today, everything is prepped and ready for me to take to work, where there's not all this halloween candy around, haha.
Went to the gym last night, which was an excellent workout, but I'm happy not to be going anywhere tonight. I was out too late, those three-class nights don't have me getting out until 930, and then go home, shower... so tired this morning.
I ordered some Christmas coloring books- they came in yesterday with a set of nice colored pencils and markers, and Kiddo likes the idea of all of us coloring together, so score.
Tonight, I'm making pulled pork (reading my mind, @pamperedlinny!) in the crock pot, and I'm going to try to make sourdough buns and biscuits tonight, as yesterday it just didn't happen in time. Sourdough's rise, so fickle. If the biscuits come out in time, I'll only have to make some veg, and I can take some squash out of the freezer for that.
Tag party time!
@pamperedlinny so about pulled pork leftovers... every time I have enough pulled pork leftover, I make tamal pie: https://www.aspicyperspective.com/perfect-tamale-pie-recipe/
It's gotten to the point where I always have masa on hand, even though I rarely make tortillas from scratch, just for this recipe, because I make it every. time, haha. And it's great because it not only uses up leftovers, but gives me two dinners to prep- so one for the day after pulled pork, and one for the freezer, which I love.
@DianaGetsFit512 I'm glad you found that helpful.
@justanotherloser007 I love that you've got walking "regulars," haha!
@KeriA Sorry to hear the new job is still so hectic, but being home more during the week and only having to go in a couple times will help a lot.
@tahitig hiiiiiiii how was the celebrity wedding/photoshoot?
@BeeHappy101 hi, welcome! I love the idea of looking for a non-food tradition, I'm in that boat myself, as food is such a big part of lots of my holiday stuff. Hence, the coloring books I mentioned above, haha.
Have a great day, everyone!

I did not check in last week. I was logging food however. It's been crazy insane still hanging in there of course.
I feel bloated so i decided to go back to low carb for awhile. My work and life schedule has been insane but I actually meal prepped yesterday so that's a plus. I am on my 8th shift and have two more before I get that one day off. Hopefully one day I won't have to work so much, but hey i am not there yet.
I will not do a weigh in until Oct. 31st however my sw this month is 221
hang in there everyone i hope to reach at least 75lbs down by the end of the year Im currently at 68lbs down this year.2 -
Happy Tuesday!
Tonight is Ladies Bible Study Night so I have no clue what kind of dinner will be served at church. I really wish they would tell us before we arrive but that's just because I want to plan my calories and when you walk in blind that's not feasible. However, I love an excuse to get out of the house and sit with all the ladies so.... I'll just have to eat light again today and hope it isn't anything too heavy.
I skipped my Zumba class yesterday and really didn't do a whole lot of anything. We had a salad for dinner, watched a Korean show that has caught our interest and killed the last of the ice cream cake from the turning 40 shenanigans. Honestly, with how run down and tired I felt yesterday I think it was the right choice. No point in being overly burnt out just for that extra calorie burn. If your body is saying "you need a rest day" I need to learn to listen to it more often.
Our monthly ladies movie night is coming up on the 22nd but I'm not actually hosting it this time. Actually, @CupcakeCrusoe it's funny that you brought up Tamale Pie because the lady hosting is our Mexican friend and we're having a tamale making day at her house. We'll do the movie while they cook but we're all arriving a few hours earlier just so we can assemble. We did this a couple years ago too (it was supposed to become annual but then 2020 messed that all up) but we're bringing Tamale Day back this year. We always do a TON of chicken tamales at her house and then we all split up the leftovers to bring home and freeze for later. So... that will not only be my day to not count calories but it's going to be the best eating day. She usually makes homemade salsa, snacks, etc before we get started plus we'll still pot luck all the other food and snacks like usual.
If you're curious about the current food holidays.... today is both National Sausage Pizza Day and Southern Food Heritage Day. I don't think I'm having pizza or anything particularly southern to eat today but you never know.
@tahitig Glad to have you back! I’m still hoping you post a few photos from your trip!
@BeeHappy101 Welcome. Non-food traditions are great since you can celebrate without calories. It definitely feels like this time of year everything includes some sort of snack, meal or beverage. I need to find a few more of these myself.
@CupcakeCrusoe I love the idea of coloring together. I might have to steal that idea this holiday season. I’m definitely going to try the Tamale Pie!

On my walk today I saw two jack-o-lanterns at one of the playgrounds (on my 5 mile walk). I had to wonder if a fastidious mom was like, "Look, imma get you some pumpkins but you CANNOT make the jack-o-lanterns here and make a mess in MY yard!" Oddly enough, they left the jacks on the picnic table. It just kind of cracked me up, because my family didn't do holidays and I wonder what my family would have been like if they did.
Me and the hubby have a Halloween non-food tradition: Halloween store shopping. I start hearing about Halloween stores in August, sometimes July. He starts telling me the dates that they will be open, he begins speculating what they will have. We end up watching at least one "show" about the monsters, animatronix, special effects etc. This past Saturday, I think the hubby was about to cry when he wailed, "I haven't made it to one Halloween store yet!" And he listed how many we have in Houston and the surrounding areas. He likes to hit as many of them as possible. Odd fact, we usually don't buy anything! I know right! For all he likes to check out all the things, it is all window shopping.
Last year was the first Halloween that I didn't have to look in the plus size costumes, and while this frees up more options for me... The cute steampunk outfit I bought that was a size 12-14 swallows me now. I still don't know what size I am, but I think I am around a size 8. I am mostly small right now, except sometimes in the chest area I still have to hit the medium shirts. Of course, when I wear a medium shirt, it ends up being loose in the waist and tight in the chest - but it is what it is. When I am doing patterns, most patterns use a B cup to make all their shirts. So, I have personally never met a B cup person. I have met lots of A's and C's and up! Haha, just like normal sizing! Literally, never fits anybody.
I noticed that when the majority of ladies get to normal BMI in the MFP threads, they are a size small. If they are muscle-ly they are extra small. That kind of bent my mind when I figured that out. I am 16 lbs more than my high school weight. I was 133 lbs at 5'3 3/4 tall (I was very happy at this size and had never been overweight before then). 141 will put me in "normal BMI weight". As of today, I am within 8 lbs of my goal. My stupid scale still has body fat % in red. Whatever! Stupid thing is never happy!

I think I am going to follow Bonnie’s lead, and add 3 servings of fruit/vegetables per day. Thank you for being a great example Bonnie! When I have a goal, it makes it easier for me to focus on and pay attention to. I guess you can’t hit a target if you don’t aim..
I have been trying to study what I was doing differently now than last year before the hives were significantly triggered on May 13th and still haven’t resolved. I have researched everything in my diet, exercise habits, etc. etc. I have tried messing with my vitamins, upping my walk, absolutely no milk products, no citrus fruits. To no avail so far, I am still so itchy and have angioedema randomly in the face, hands, feet. So for the next few months, I have decided to be a veggie monster!! Nom nom nom, all the veggies!!!!!!!
I usually do this for summer, but since I was so miserable with the hives, I was just lucky to eat at all. Here is to at least 3 months of veggie and fruit time! I started off this week with okra. But I didn’t get enough, because when I start vegetables I get hungrier for vegetables and want to eat vegetables all the time. So, next week I will have to really double or triple the frozen veggie bags. For reasons unknown, I get really happy when I can eat LOTS of food! I don’t seem to care what kind of food, as long as it is LOTS of food! I didn’t know this about myself when I started really doing a calorie deficit. Glad I know now, it is very helpful.
Did you know that only 1 out of 10 adults gets their daily dose of fruits and vegetables? Today I learned.

Thanks for the welcome!!
So I’m attempting to cut out coffee since I’m more addicted to the creamers than actual coffee. Plus this time of year there’s so many tempting flavors and just want to try them all. Was feeling good and thinking I got this then dipped into the Halloween candy bowl not once but twice. Ugh! Stupid snickers and reeces haha did track it and yeah it pushed me over but right now just trying to get back to honestly tracking. What helps you walk on by without dipping in the bowl?
@CupcakeCrusoe love the coloring book idea! So doing this! Also nice way to keep my hands busy and not stuffing my face. Also thanks for the tamale pie recipe. Looks delicious.
@pamperedlinny happy belated birthday!! Hope you had a nice surprise for dinner tonight. Ladies movie night sounds like so much fun! Do you know what your watching yet? Of course I’d go for the tamales!
@justanotherloser007 haha smart mom pumpkin guts get everywhere. Have fun Halloween browsing. Are you dressing up this year? I must have missed the veggie post but yeah I need to eat more veggies. Hope you figure out the cause of the hives soon.2 -
Happy Wednesday!
Remember how I got a giant pan of pulled pork on Saturday and I've been eating it different ways for 4 days??? Guess what we had for dinner at church last night. You guessed it.... PULLED PORK. Ugh. So I didn't eat much at all since I'm honestly ready for something other than pulled pork in my life for at least a day or two.
Today I have my allergist appointment. I'm hoping he says I can move my shots out to 6 week intervals since I've been at 4 weeks for over a year. Also, tonight is my daughter's volleyball practice so I'll be sitting and just watching for an hour tonight after going to the allergist. It's also raining all day so I'm not able to go for my daily walk. I did a quick YouTube workout this morning to make up for some of the lack of movement today. Since I also have over 200 emails that need a response I don't know that I'll be able to workout at lunch. We shall see.
We do have one non-food Halloween tradition. Our local YMCA has a Pumpkin Splash event each year and it's one of my daughter's favorite things. If you didn't know, pumpkins float. They fill the indoor pool with pumpkins and the kids swim out to pick their pumpkins and float them to the side of the pool. After they leave the pool, dry off & change the multipurpose room has paints and stickers to decorate the pumpkins. As they dry they have a few games just outside. Toss Across, Ring Toss, etc. Once your pumpkins are dry you go home. They do also have small snacks but it's just punch and cookies usually.
@justanotherloser007 I love your Halloween tradition! I love poking in the stores too but rarely do because I always end up wanting to buy something. I hope the hives trigger is figured out soon. Having them is absolutely miserable.
@BeeHappy101 We have a bunch of movies written on slips of paper in a bucket so unless there is a specific recommendation (like a Christmas movie in December) we draw a title at the end of the night for the next time. The upcoming movie is going to be Definitely Maybe starring Ryan Reynolds. It’s one of the few titles everyone has probably watched previously. I’m notorious for having more unknown titles though and introducing my friends to quirky films they’ve never seen. For example, in August the movie was Blow Dry. It’s a very British comedy but it’s packed full of stars everyone recognizes.

@BeeHapppy101 I almost never buy coffee creamers any longer. Instead I buy half & half or whatever milk product I'm into at the moment. Then I buy Skinny Syrups in a bunch of flavors to add to my coffee. Then the only calories is from the milk of choice, there isn't any added sugar and you can still have all the fun flavors. I buy mine at TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Ross, etc or online directly at www.SkinnyMixes.com or on Amazon if I just want one specific flavor.
Actually, this morning I had a Smores Iced Coffee using cold brew coffee, a splash of milk, a bit of Salted Dark Chocolate Espresso syrup and Toasted Marshmallow syrup all over ice. Coffee is only about 2 to 5 calories per cup, the syrups are essentially zero so the only calories was from the splash of milk.

@BeeHapppy101 regarding creamers: I agree with @pamperedlinny. I have a bunch of no calorie sweeteners, there are ohhh so many! I also skip the milk or half and half, because I am a cafe latte kinda gal and instead use almond milk @ 30 calories per 8oz. Also, I like to get sweet coffee beans, like "cinnamon bun" or "dulce de leche" so I get lots of flavor and my calories are fine. As for candy, I would graze if it was in my face I think. Usually, I have to measure out a thing - put it in a small bowl, and then eat said thing. I can't just willy nilly do things.
Fun fact: I have to measure out my dog's food on a scale! Yep, I am that bad with the eyeballing things.
I love that pumpkins float!! That sounds like soooooo much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!2 -
12 miles of 35 walking miles completed so far this month! I love fall!2

You know I love my food holidays.... today is both National Gumbo Day and National Pulled Pork Day so I combined them to make gumbo including the pulled pork I still have left over and just used what I already had on hand in the fridge and freezer.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 to 3 tbsp all purpose flour
4 cups chicken broth
1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 small can tomato sauce 1 link chorizo (removed casing & sliced while slightly frozen)
4 oz shrimp (mine was frozen, peeled & deveined)
1/2 cup leftover pulled pork 😋
About a cup each celery, onion & sweet peppers
1 tsp minced garlic
1 to 2 tsp cajun seasoning
1 tsp thyme
Salt & pepper to taste
Melt butter and add flour. Mix and cook until it becomes a caramel color. Add broth, sauce and tomatoes. Mix well. Add in everything else Cook over medium until protein is cooked through, vegetables are soft and broth has thickened. Serve over Jasmine Rice 🍚
My photo doesn't seem to want to attach properly but I tried to attach the photo of my bowl to this post.1 -
Happy Thursday!
Today is Lego Club for the kid and the Zumba class with the instructor that I swear is a gazelle. She runs, goes straight from squat to jumps and sets a crazy pace. I think I modify about half of the class just to keep up but she's a lot of fun too so it's a good time.
I also promised my husband lasanga for dinner tonight so I'll need to get on that during my lunch hour. We use the lentil pasta sheets and I cook shredded zucchini with the ground meat. I think I'm going to be making a second pan this time to freeze so next time I promise lasanga I won't have to prep but just thaw it out instead.
School is off tomorrow and the husband took off work too so I'll have them both around harrassing me all day. We'll see how much work I get done that way.1 -
Happy Thursday!
Thanks for all the coffee suggestions @pamperedlinny & @justanotherloser007 I’ll have to give the syrups another try. I tried some a few years ago and the artificial after taste was too much. Can’t remember the brand or flavor but I’m sure things have improved.
S’mores iced coffee sounds scrumptious!
Haha about measuring your dog’s food too. I’m with you absolutely no eyeballing skills. It’s always an eye opener when I start weighing and tracking. How easy it is for the portions to creep back up when I don’t. There’s a bowl of Halloween candy at work and I have this whole conversation in my head every time I walk by. Hopefully I’ll be able to stay away today. I haven’t gotten any for home and will try not to as long as I can because if I know it’s in the house I’ll keep thinking about it.
Maybe I should look for Halloween coloring books too!
Or get pumpkins to decorate!
How funny pumpkins float. I had no clue.
@pamperedlinny sounds like it’s pulled pork month for you! You’re so creative adding to gumbo and everything. I’m so must stick to the recipe.2 -

We have a number of activities planned each weekend in October that are going to make staying in a deficit challenging. Last weekend was Vegas (just got back last night). I think I did fairly well keeping things balanced by lots of walking, sharing meals and staying away from sugary beverages. On a side note, I loved dressing up and going out on the strip in Vegas. It was so much fun to embrace my curves and show off the changes I have worked so hard for. Yay for confidence! I expect the small gain today is due to water retention from flying and TOM.
This weekend we have two events: Saturday is the Spirits, Brews and Bites in the Historic district which is a Halloween themed food and drink festival and Sunday is a wine club pickup party and lunch at one of our wine clubs. My goal is to be careful with my eating during the week so I have a few extra calories to play with on the weekend.2 -
@BeeHapppy101 I like stevia sweeteners the best, I realize that isn't for everyone. But once you give up sugar, over time you will tolerate other sweeteners better. One lent, I didn't have sodas and I was sooo looking forward to my fav soda, only to find out that I didn't like it anymore. Taste bud reset I call it. It has happened to me many times, and I am not the only one. You just have to not eat said thing for a bit.1

Last night I had the worst nightmare. I dreamt that my daughter had passed away and I was utterly shattered. Even in my dream my husband was almost unable to function from grief. When I woke up at 3:30am I was so devestated because it felt so real. I ran through my house to make sure everyone was breathing, accidentally woke up my husband and sobbed uncontrolably for over an hour. I finally dozed back off a bit but not very deeply or well so I'm beyond exhausted.
My husband is off work and my daughter is off school today. I was annoyed about them being in my way today but now I'm just thankful everyone is good. We also have the first parent / teacher conference of the year today.... and I'm stupid happy about that meeting as well because it means my girl is alive and well. I'm a mess today.
Also, as is normal when I get up crazily early, I feel like I'm starving already. I'm going to try and just have my coffee and then wait until 10am to eat like normal but I have a feeling my eating pattern is going to be off kilter too because I'm so hungry already. Maybe I'll try a piece of low calorie toast with no sugar apple butter in a bit. Apple Butter in the fall always makes me feel pretty good.
This weekend is a bit chaotic again. Saturday is volleyball game, a fall festival at the fire dept and a friend's romance party. Sunday I have the welcome desk at church in the morning and another kid's birthday party with the neighbors. I still haven't bought a gift yet so I need to squeeze in a run to Walmart too. Our local downtown has it's HUGE annual fall event that goes from Thurs thru Sun and we try to go each year but you can't do it justice in just an hour or two (plus parking isn't pretty) so we might have to miss this year with doing all the other stuff. I avoid the Friday nights there because people who get off work just stay downtown and it's even more packed.
I agree about taste bud reset @justanotherloser007. If you go a while without having something sometimes it doesn't taste just the same as you remember. It doesn't work for everything, there are plenty of things I'll never like the taste of at all, but you'd be surprised at how often it works if it's a daily favorite item and you go a couple months without. Our bodies are both weird and wonderful.
@sandielewis2001 Your events this weekend sound fun!3 -
Hello, all! Just realized I forgot to check in last Sunday.

So my mom is visiting and that's never a good thing because she brought a Costco pumpkin pie, 1/2 a Costco chocolate cake, 2 gallons of ice cream and even more snacks. It's a freakin mad house of unhealthy choices. 🤣🤣🤣
In healthier news, I've been gifted a crock pot and am trying to find vegetarian/pescatarian recipes because a lot of them are meat based. I've never used a crock pot, so this is going to be interesting.
In medical news, and if this is TMI, keep scrolling, but I just wanted to say that if anyone is having trouble with their pelvic floor (bladder leakage/general pain/pain with sex/etc) KEGELS MIGHT NOT BE THE ANSWER.
Everyone always says to do kegels and tighten up your pelvic floor, but that could be detrimental, because the problem could be that your pelvic floor is already way too tight. I'm currently going to a pelvic floor physical therapist (and who knew that was a thing?) and she's teaching me way to relax my PF (which include breathing, stretching, and internal work).
Anyway, no one ever told me that what's currently wrong with me was even a possibility. When I went to my regular OBGYN with excruciating pain, they were thought it could be an infection and when it wasnt, they sent me to a specialist who diagnosed me with "vulvodynia" which is just a catchall term for vaginal pain and she sent me to a physical therapist and a sexual health specialist. So long story short, don't just start doing kegels if you have any issues. See someone first.
Sorry if that was a lot, but I literally had no idea this was even a thing. Sometimes, it can be brought on by physical trauma or sometimes it's just stress and anxiety and sometimes it can just happen for no apparent reason. But I figured I'd share because maybe I could help someone else. 💜5 -
Well I'm back. It's been well over a year. Started logging today. I won't get a weigh in until months end mostly because I just got back from vacation. I pretty much gain 1-2s lb a month when I don't track.
I'm guessing I'm 230-235
Goal: log every day
Gym: get in 2-3 times a week
Goal weigh under 230 by end of October4 -
Happy Monday!
We had a lot this weekend. Friday was no school and husband at home which also led to giggling girls all over my house including one staying for a sleepover. It meant pizza for dinner, brownie sundaes for dessert and pancakes for breakfast. Saturday included sitting in Starbucks with a friend battling cancer, volleyball for my girl, a fall festival and a romance party. Sunday even included another kids birthday party. I don't want to know how many calories I consumed. I tried to start off strong but it just spiraled after a bit. Since my overall plan is maintenance through the end of the year I'm not going to worry too much. I'll just wait until next weekend to weigh (which is my normal anyway) and hope that it's all evened out by then.
This week is also TOM so I'm trying to not go nuts on everything but I swear anything salty, fatty or overly sweet sounds excellent right now. Like.... a plate of crispy french fries and a side of ice cream would be heavenly... instead I'm just sticking to coffee and water for the next hour or so.
I'm in debate if I'm trying to get to my Zumba class this afternoon. I have stuff lined up almost every day this week so I'd like to have an evening at home but after the weekend of eating I don't want to skip exercise altogether. I did manage a short workout this morning and plan to walk at lunch today though so I might take that one night at home. We'll see how I feel at the end of the work day.
@RavenStCloud That’s an overload of sweets. I hope you’re able to enjoy a bit without it being too crazy. I LOVE crockpots… especially this time of year. Vegetable based soups are super easy in the crockpot and great for this time of year.
My mom actually had Pelvic Floor Prolapse which meant having a full hysterectomy because things actually moved out of place. If you look it up it can be scary stuff. I’m glad you got help for it because we learned ignoring those type issues can lead to all sorts of rough stuff.

🧅 Hit 3 servings of vegetables every day except Sundays! I reserve Sundays for not hitting my usual protein/oil/carb goals.
🌶️Recuperate from hives. If possible, continue fitness journey and always be thankful!.
🍆Be patient! Remember that increments are where it is at, and focus on habits.
🧄Remember: Total loss of 130 lbs!!
I have been trying to study what I was doing differently now than last year before the hives were significantly triggered on May 13th and still haven’t resolved. I have researched everything in my diet, exercise habits, etc. etc.
So while my deficit was pretty significant, and I was walking a ton my hives were like a couple of them a month (guess when? I used to say I was allergic to being a woman, but that seemed to highly distress my allergist so I stopped saying that). So when you "overtrain" it means that you are basically not feeding yourself to your exercise level. And long distance athletes do this a bit, AND... it deeply suppresses the immune system. So maybe this deep suppression of my immune system really helped with my hives. Kind of like a natural prednisone that works better than prednisone.
I am considering a lifetime of low grade anorexia to cure my hives. I am that miserable. I basically spend all day and night in agony and try not to scratch - there are usually 2 hours a day I am not in tears until it starts up again. I also spend most of my time trying not to beg God to take me home, I feel like after a good confession I am ready. I am trying to be strong - but it is constant and the Dr.'s evidently decided that prednisone is too dangerous. I am currently doing well with maintenance, so that.

@justanotherloser007 That sounds so miserable. I'm so sorry. I know I've said that before but I sincerely hope you get some relief soon.2

Good morning!
I did miss Zumba yesterday but my daughter also fell asleep at school so I felt it was important to have a relaxing night in and an earlier night to bed. I've already told my husband I'll be at Zumba tonight though since I don't have my bible study tonight.
Today the newest blog recipe went out. I made the old Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa cobbler recipe from when I was a kid but managed to get it down to 95 calories and 4 grams of sugar without sacrificing all of the flavor. https://pamperedlinny.wixsite.com/coffee-required/post/cuppa-cuppa-cuppa-without-a-cup-of-sugar
Today is National Chocolate Cupcake Day and National Mashed Potato Day but I'm going to try and avoid those for today. McDonald's also brings back Boo Buckets today so I'm likely heading out to McD's at some point today and hoping I'm not too late and they aren't sold out when I get there. I just want one Boo Bucket so I can feel nostalgic.2 -
I love reading this thread—it's so supportive. My apologies for not posting more frequently.

We have half the month to go, so let's do it!3 -
I grew 3 pumpkins like this in my front flower bed this summer/fall...the vines took over, but this one is my first pumpkin ever.
Thus far I have been logging, but it is only day 4. Whenever I log, I'm reminded that when I eat a full meal, it is really the equivalent of 2 meals. So I'm pretty much calling it Linner...with just a snack at night.

Good morning!
Zumba kicked my butt last night so I'm glad I went. I needed to get moving.
This morning I didn't get my walk in because my daughter had a "hair emergency" and nearly missed the school bus. Everything I do before the bus arrives had to be done afterwards instead. Boo! However, my daughter also picked a recipe from a new cookbook and so it's in the slow cooker now. Hungry Girl's Simply Comfort Cookbook has a recipe for Garlic Brown Sugar Pork Tenderloin. Hopefully it turns out good because we have a busy night and won't have time to make anything else.
Tonight we have my daughter's dentist appointment at 4pm, a trunk or treat with fall fair at a local church at 5:30 (not our church but we know a ton of people that go there) and her volleyball practice at 6:30. My husband is going to pick her up in the car line so hopefully she'll be home about 3 or 3:15 and will just have to eat early an quickly so we can get out the door on time.
I'm going to plan on hitting the eliptical or something in the gym while she's at volleyball. Since we'll be at the YMCA and my husband will also be on site watching her practice I really need to make up for this morning's missed workout by getting some movement in myself.
Hope you all have an amazing day!!!
@IsETHome Your pumpkin looks fantastic! I’ve given up trying my hand at gardening. I wish I could be good at growing things and happy about weeding my garden but it’s just not me. Instead I just offer to take extra goodies off anyones hands I do know that grows things.1 -
@justanotherloser007 - I feel your pain. You sound sad, and I understand. Since my spouse died last year I've had to take care of everything and I'm angry and some days I feel like 'what's the point'. Hold on for now- stay the course. Better days are ahead for us. Do you have a friend to talk to or a therapist? Are you getting out? It's too easy to stay isolated. Go get a coffee, go to the bookstore, stop by a church- whatever makes you feel better. Sending hugs- you deserve them. 💕1

@justanotherloser007 - remember that you've lost 130 lb! I've lost 35 for past few years, but this year only 15. I feel stuck but hoping to get my head in a better place. So your progress is awesome!2
