I'm so happy that I just discovered this thread! I am fairly new still and have been looking for the right community to join! We are finishing up the process of moving to a new home this week, finishing getting things out of our old apartment and cleaning it up before inspection, while also working on unpacking our new home. I finally am back in my groove this week so my goal for the rest of June is to stay on track and make sure to continue to log consistently, and lose 2-3 pounds before the end of the month!
I am a wife to my best friend and love of my life, and mom of three boys and two huskies! I work from home and am a huge science nerd who also enjoys building with legos with our boys and playing video games! We live in a very warm climate but we do love being outside and hiking and camping when the weather is not so hot. My husband and I want to have another baby within the next couple of years, I just have a personal goal of losing at least 50 more lbs before we start trying!

The ole progress seems to have slowed this month. I'm moving from more extended fasts to 18:6 as I've been reading that it's a better fit for women. Haven't really exercised much, well lots of gentle stuff, some nice paddles, walks in the woods and archery but I need more sweating! In the middle of trying to buy a house and that's been taking up a lot of energy.5 -
Good morning everyone!
My new scale came in yesterday, so I'm happy to report that New Scale Baseline is 185! Looks like I've been maintaining just fine on my diet break, and it's TOM besides. And now my scale will automatically sync with MacroFactor (and google fit, and fitbit, and whatever else).
Last night we went out for dinner at a riverfront restaurant, got to sit outside, and I had a couple of nice cocktails, shrimp and grits, and a couple hush puppies (yummm). Today is TRX at the gym, and of course, all that deep cleaning. I have no idea what I'll be eating, except this leftover shrimp and grits that I'm calling breakfast.
Yesterday I didn't eat an adequate breakfast before I tackled clearing out the playroom (ritz crackers and homemade frosting, lol), and that was a Bad Decision. At one point I just lay on the ground because I felt awful. Not making that mistake again, too much to do!
I'm back on my *kitten*, and trying to delay vacuuming and deep cleaning the carpets today, so tag party time!
@seltzer_lover good to know that there's no pushing you to get out of the green zone if you don't want to be, that was the first thing I thought of when I read that. I hear you on wanting new clothes, but not wanting to buy them yet. Can't I be at goal weight already so I can plan out my whole wardrobe?! Haha.
I liked the article, thanks for sharing. I try to program at least one rest day in between each of my workouts, and work out 3-4 times a week, now, but I know people who are there every. day.
@bonniemcc4 I'm so glad that you got some help from the assistant, that was very thoughtful.
That's so exciting about your niece being able to come over! I wish I had had that close a relationship with my aunts. We just grew apart, they couldn't handle I was getting older and might have different opinions than theirs.
@sandielewis2001 yesssssssssss 🥳
@porquenoirl house buying is so stressful. And this market! Oof. Best of luck. Life happens, and like life, it's about the friends habits we make along the way.
@BeastModeBeauty87 Hi! Welcome! You say "just" 10 lbs, but 10 lbs would be a whole lot in one month! Tell us some about yourself!
@Inky_one oooh, I like the idea of a low-calorie snack plate, totally stealing that for later...
@bojaantje3822 good for you listening to your body. I hope you're feeling much better. And way to go! 30 lbs is great progress! And your posts about working out are always so inspiring.
@JAC581 Congratulations on the apartment! 🥳🥳 Weekends, especially really busy weekends, are so hard for eating at a deficit. I hope baseball was fun!
@finngirl61 good to hear from you! Sorry to hear about your knee. The good news is, any progress is good progress, even if you aren't getting there quickly. And the changes you make to lose weight are (generally!) healthy changes for you anyway, like increasing water and vegetables.
@pamperedlinny I'm happy you enjoyed the concert, and got moving again, slowly! That's got to feel good, after not being able to for a little while.
Being in close quarters with family doesn't give us the stress relief valves we would normally use. Don't be too hard on yourself, that sounded like a stressful situation.
@RavenStCloud Good to "see" you! Mindful eating is one I really need to work on. Glad to hear you're enjoying a more active job!
@sargemarcori I've been there, keep the faith (and the deficit)! Or take a diet break, and restart the deficit in a week or so.
@Generic_Excuse Glad to hear the whole card situation got resolved. So stressful.
@lmgoff232 Yeah, no way you put on 4 lbs of fat in that small amount of time.
@justanotherloser007 oh wow, haha, that's amazing. And it must feel very good to have such a huge validation of your progress.
@swimmom_1 water can make weight fluctuate so much. Glad you're taking it in stride.
@_manny_702 holy *kitten* you are flying! look at you!
@goal06082021 the museum with your mom sounds like fun! And your overnight oats sound amazing. I drink almond milk every day in my coffee, and I also prefer it as a mixer for my protein shakes (when I have them).
@aflads31 welcome! Those are great goals!
@cosmiccurveshuge science nerd who also enjoys building with legos with our boys and playing video games!
Feels so good to be able to weigh in again and monitor my weight. Have a great day everyone!

Hey everyone!!!!
First, I have a new recipe on my blog this morning. Someone had asked a couple weeks ago about the link and since there is a new post I figured this was the time to share it again. https://pamperedlinny.wixsite.com/coffee-required/post/mexican-street-corn
As for my stress eating breakdown the other day.... it came on the heels of celebrating Father's Day and on my husband's birthday. Add in the not great food choices at the concert Friday night and my fasting blood sugar on Tuesday morning was higher than it's been in a while. Needless to say that put me right back on track in a hurry. Yesterday I stuck to plan with a vengence. LOL
I still haven't made it back to my Zumba classes yet but I'm thinking maybe Thursday or Saturday (there isn't one on Fridays). Monday, Tuesday and this morning I did the small loop in my neighborhood with my walking partner. I also did the small loop with my daughter mid-morning yesterday and plan to try that again today. We also went bowling yesterday so while I didn't get a ton a steps in last night or a real workout in I didn't just sit either. It's been 3 weeks since I caught Covid and while I still get tired a bit easier I've got to keep adding movement. For my physical health, my mental health and for my diabetes. The longer I stay sitting the more bleh I feel and the less I want to get moving. Plus, I can't snack if I'm busy.
As for the bowling, I promised we would go more often during the summer. There is a small bowling alley near us that is actually owned and run by a huge church next door to it. Most of the employees are from the youth group of the church. Bowling on a weeknight (Mon, Tue, Thu) is only $2 per game and includes shoes so I can agree to that plan.
I am scheduled to have my lab work done on July 12 then see the doctor on July 20. I don't love my doctor and eventually need to find a new one but as long as my A1C is under control and my blood pressure isn't crazy we'll get along fine. She is a pill pusher for sure and is more likely to lecture than to listen so I really do need to buckle down and find someone else one of these days. If I don't keep my eating, weight, fasting blood sugar, etc all under control for the next 3 to 4 weeks she's going to give me another lecture and try to give me more meds I don't actually need. (Like diabetic medication when I can keep my A1C in "normal" range with diet and exercise just because she believes in medicating everything)
Tag Party
@goal06082021 That brainteaser exhibit sounds fun! You’ll have to share the recipe for your baked oatmeal.
@bonniemcc4 I hope all your labs come back good and your get any answers you need.
@JAC581 Free tickets are the best tickets. I hope you had a fantastic time at the game!
@aflads31 Welcome! Small goals are fantastic. It’s so easy to get discouraged looking at the long road ahead and small goals make that so much easier.
@cosmiccurves Welcome! I’ve just started introducing my daughter to easy hikes. Flat paths or shorter paths with a waterfall or something to really catch her attention. But it’s also summer in South Carolina so if we don’t go out early we miss our chance before it gets crazy hot. Do your boys like to hike with you?
@CupcakeCrusoe Yay!!!! I’m so glad your scale arrived. Smart scales are the best. You never have to manually type your weight into any of the apps again once they all sync up.

7. Write for 30 minutes each day (aka make time for hobbies)
8. Eat out 4x or less a week (unless on vacation)
9. Clean one thing every day instead of everything in one day.
Absolutely delighted that I only gained half a pound this weekend. I was in total vacation mode, and despite going on walks in the mornings, I definitely overate. It was a nice diet break, and the puppy and I definitely enjoyed visiting the family. She and my brother's younger dog played so much!
Didn't really track my monthly goals this week, but like I said, I was on vacation. Hopped back into working out today and tracking calories yesterday.
Also! Also! I ran into my childhood next door neighbor at the grocery store while visiting my hometown. Her kids are my age, and we've lived next door to each other since I was four. She didn't recognize me until I said hello!9 -
Hi all, good to see new people and congratulations to those who have had success! I had hoped to lose just one pound for the week-geeze. But nope. So increasing my protein and hope for better news next week. I hate drinking water- occasionally I'll have Propel or Powerade (no sugar). But am a coffee drinker. Will try to add at least some water in evening. Thanks to @CupcakeCrusoe for the tag and encouragement!5

Just started yesterday so no progress yet. Looking for motivation and new friends.5 -
I'm stressing about my weigh-in tomorrow morning. The last 2 days I've been bloating, felt snacky, and been emotional so I think we all know what's coming. This month has been so chaotic with my weigh-ins and where as I feel like I've lost a fine amount I'm a person that needs to see my success on paper as a confirmation. This month I won't see that as nicely as others. And so, with the signs of upcoming TOM I am not excited to weigh tomorrow at all and what that will do mentally to the "success" I see. I just don't want to be discouraged.
Okay enough of my sobbing, tag party:
@cosmiccurves 👋 this is definitely an amazing group of people to help motivate! Seems like you've already been killing it with that 30lb loss! 🥳 Added you as a friend!
@porquenoirl Were you doing a different intermittent fasting before? I do the 16:8 with meal scheduling (10am: breakfast 2pm:lunch 6pm:dinner) I find it helps tremendously with overeating/snacking at night and undereating/skipping breakfast.
@pamperedlinny thanks for the link!! You already know how I feel about new food ideas! 🤣 Sorry to hear about your doctor. I hope you find someone who listens better and cares more soon! I believe some drs forget why they got into medicine in the first place and just see us as a # to get through to the next.😣
@kenziestabes gotta have those vacation breaks to keep us sane for sure 😄 happy you're doing well!
@aflads31 👋 Welp we all have to start somewhere, the important part is you decided to start!! Added you as a friend!5 -
Good morning!
I plan to officially try my first Zumba class in over 3 weeks tonight. I'm both excited to go back and worried about how much extra modification I'll have to do until my energy is fully back. I'm 90 to 95% back to normal except for being tired easier so it feels like I'm ready to give it a go. My daughter loves the Zumba teacher for Thursday & Sunday (she was actually her room mom last year) so she's excited to go with me tonight.
Tomorrow night I'm hosting a second ladies movie night with all the snacks and grazing that entails. You might remember I did that last month and we decided to try and make it a monthly thing. One night a month to let the kids play upstairs having their own "party", my husband hang upstairs to referee while watching his own movies or playing on his computer, all the ladies taking up the living room & kitchen while watching a movie, talking without a bunch of kid interuptions and eating whatever stuff everyone brought pot luck style. Having a ladies night in with wine, snacks and chocolate for a small close group was fabulous and did a lot for my mental health. I think we all need a chance to see and spend time with our girls once in a while.
Saturday I get to attend the annual crab feast that comes through where I live. I'm from Baltimore, MD but living in South Carolina so steamed blue crabs are rare where I live now and I miss just going out when I need a fix. So... whenever the Southeast Crab Feast travels through my area I am there. My best friend is going with me this year too and I don't think she's ever picked a crab. This should be interesting.
Also, on Saturday evening one of my families favorite events is happening. It's a pre-Independence Day celebration. There will be a sky diver, food trucks, live music, bounce houses for kids, etc and after 3 or 4 hours of fun it ends with a massive fire works display. Since it's a free event to attend and the bounce house wristband for the kids is only $5 it's a highlight of our summer.
I plan to weigh in tomorrow istead of Saturday given the Friday night feast. Fingers crossed nothing went up this week.
@aflads31 I sent you a friend request
@Generic_Excuse You got this and even if this month doesn’t show on paper as well as others there is always next month to start fresh.
@kenziestables We all need that vacation mode once in a while.

I've been on the struggle-bus this week emotionally (thanks, TOM) and yesterday I was feeling fairly insane. Ended up on in a snacky, bingey kind of mood but only overate meringues, so like....90 calories. Logged it, moved on, was still under on cals for the day.
It's just such an awful feeling to KNOW, logically, that my emotions are in charge, but still not fully be able to stop it. Just re-directed towards a food that I knew I wouldn't go over cals on.6 -

My body is still changing even though I'm mostly just resting. My triceps (I think that's what they are) have never felt bigger! It's so surreal how there they are. It does not feel like my upper arm anymore. There's this big chunk of muscle and then soft fat kinda below it. I can't even describe this.
Also I had a delicious pizza tonight so I feel good.6 -
I do not have the energy for a tag party, but I'm encouraging you all! Welcome, new folks!
Weigh in tomorrow, and it's not looking promising, but hey. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing, whatever that stupid scale says.6 -
Happy Friday everyone!
Starting Weight: 320 lbs
Last Week's Weight: 290.2 lbs
Today's Weight: 288.4 lbs
Weight Loss This Week: 1.8 lbs
Total Weight Loss: 31.6 lbs
I'm super happy with the results this week! Working to get closer to that goal every day, progress is progress! We are going to finish moving this weekend, so here's hoping we are able to get it all done! We have one of the grandmothers coming in next weekend to spend time with us and our boys for the week before she leaves to visit more family, so that has added to the extra moving/unpacking motivation for my husband and I. I am super inspired by our new kitchen, since our old kitchen was very tiny in our apartment and there was zero counter space. Here, it's not a huge kitchen, but the counter space has made a huge difference! It's the little things!
Dentist appointment this morning, then off to do more moving! After this last heat wave, it looks like things are going to settle into the mid-90s for a while, which is a welcome change from the triple digits we've been experiencing. We want to start implementing evening walks with our boys next week, so if the weather cooperates, we'll make it happen!
Thank you for all of the warm welcomes!! I hope everyone has an excellent Friday!
@CupcakeCrusoe yaaas!! nerds unite!! We have recently introduced our young boys to Harry Potter and are reading them the new picture book versions, it is taking us a while but definitely something they look forward to.
@pamperedlinny nice!!! We are pretty close neighbors! We are in Georgia, so exclusively early mornings right now haha! They love going on the trails with us and collecting rocks and sticks and leaves, we try to make cool things with them or just add the rocks to their ever growing collection. Love the bowling!
@Generic_Excuse thank you!! I added you back and I appreciate it! I hope your weigh in went well but no matter what the number says, remember you are still making progress despite any fluctuations!

Happy Friday!
I have been at 239 and change for most of the month, occasionally a bit higher. So imagine my surprise when I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 235. Excuse me, what? I dropped four pounds in two days? I've been eating a lot of extra junk the last week, and yesterday, despite my headache, I got back on track and stayed under my calories. I thought maybe there would be a small drop but not four whole pounds! With everything being crazy this last week and half and not wanting to track everything, this is some nice encouragement to keep going. I'm going to be stressing like crazy until I'm done moving at the beginning of August, so July is going to be an interesting month!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!5 -
Good morning!

It's Friday! It's Ladies Movie Night at my house! It's my officially once a month full cheat day (not that I'll go crazy all day but if I start off with bagel this is the day not to feel guilty about it). Of course, I made it my official cheat day because of movie night. No one wants to look at all the food in their own house and not eat it.... or have half a bottle of wine because you're not driving. Tonight's movie is Stardust. It's such a goofy, action-y, weirdly charming film... and a favorite in our house. Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes, Charlie Cox before he was Daredevil.
Since the scale didn't move last week (not surprising with my inability to exercise and my husband "helping" cook) I was ecstatic to see I was down 2 lbs this week. Plus I started back to Zumba again last night. I definitely had to slow down by the second half but I didn't overdo it either and it felt good to get a real workout sweat going again.
Tomorrow is the crab feast then the Freedom Blast festival so I'll try to log and stay on track but I might go way over on crabs alone. At least it's a protein and not junk food. I wish I could bring my food scale or figure it out as I went but I can guarantee that would probably cause some issues at an all you can eat event.
@seltzer_lover Being able to survive a truly snacky, bingey mood only over by 90 calories is still fantastic. I know when I get that way sometimes it’s really ugly.
@bojaantje3822 Mmm pizza. That’s what we’re having tonight.
@sargemarcori You got this. The scale isn’t the most important thing.
@cosmiccurves Nothing like a family visit to motivate unpacking. My daughter is also a HUGE Harry Potter fan. We always joke that our child is going to open her mouth and nerd is going to come out by middle school. By age 4 she had a favorite villain (Dalek from Doctor Who) and planned to marry Darth Vader. LOL.
@JAC581 It’s weird and seems backwards but sometimes when I’m at a plateau a few cheat days actually seem to recalibrate my system, for lack of a better term. Maybe eating the junk actually helped give you the whoosh. I’m so happy for you!

Good morning everyone!
187.6 this morning, and I'm fine with it! I ate a lot yesterday, and it was all delicious, and I worked out, and I didn't gain 2-3 lbs overnight.
Friday is pizza day, I'm going to have to do some prelogging to get back into the swing of deficits (even if today I decide not to deficit again quite yet- we'll see).
Friday weigh in day! It's been diet break time over here, so my goals haven't been met, lol.

Spoiler for delicious diet break food pictures! My diet break is going to be over soon, and I'm sad for that, but also ready to get going again. Treating myself this last week has been good for my brain.A delicious cheeseburger I ate last night, and some amazing sweet potato fries (I'm definitely returning to this place):
A black currant cherry mead I had after dinner last night, incredible:
I tried crumbl cookies yesterday! Rocky Road and chocolate chip were my favorites.
Wednesday, we got some local barbecue. I got brisket, which was so good. It was a little hole in the wall, and those are the best sorts.
On Tuesday we went to eat by the river, these are the shrimp and grits, delicious, and a hurricane I had. Yumm.
Last Friday before we got on the train, I found the most amazing mediterranean food. It was, again, a little hole in the wall, and the man was so nice there. I told him I didn't know what I wanted, and he gave me a taste of everything so I could choose. This is moussaka, orzo salad, chickpea salad, and the best baklava I've ever had.
In DC I got poke and a brown sugar cream bubble tea! Delicious.
This was that restaurant at Mount Vernon, I had a steak salad with chimichurri that was to. die. for.
We drank beer on the roof of our hotel in DC! It was a cool view.
And we went to a sushi-go-round, which was a lot of fun!
And a picture of me feeling myself at pole class!
Anyway! Now that I've reminisced about all the good food I've eaten in the last week, lol. (Which is how diet breaks should be!) Tag party!
@pamperedlinny bowling is so fun! And $2 a game is so good!
I love your movie nights so much! I need to find more mom friends, I hope you have fun. It always sounds like such a blast.
@kenziestabes I love hearing stories like that about the grocery store. It's so cool.
@finngirl61 powerade and other things count as water! There's nothing special about water-water, except that it's calorie free and good for hydration.
@aflads31 hi! Welcome! Tell us something about yourself!
@Generic_Excuse one weigh in doesn't necessarily reflect your progress, so don't give it too much power over you.
@seltzer_lover I know what you mean about the feel of a binge, even if you redirected it. I don't have good advice for you, just lots of sympathy.
@sandielewis2001 this is not a problem! Trust the low! You did not gain 3 lbs in that short period of time. You've got this.
@bojaantje3822 we stan a stacked woman! Also Friday pizza day! Yes!
@sargemarcori YES YES YES!
@cosmiccurves oh man, a bigger kitchen is going to make such a difference, I'm so happy for you. Also, good progress and I love your ticker!
@JAC581 We love a whoosh!
Have a great Friday, everyone!

Feeling much better yesterday and today. Thankfully the crazy passed and I was able to minimize the damage as much as possible.
Looking forward to lunch with old coworkers today and a great OTF class!
I hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Edited to add: Just saw the news. Now I want to eat everything in sight. And maybe punch a hole in my wall.5 -
Quick advice please! I am signing up for a co-ed young adults softball team and need to say my shirt size. We get the shirts in about 3 weeks. I wear a large in women's shirts (looser fit right now but not quite a medium). Should I order a medium or large, assuming it's unisex?2

@pamperedlinny have a great relaxing evening and enjoy the pizza!
@CupcakeCrusoe omg all the pics look great! And your pole class seems like great fun1 -

🕊️Recuperate from illnesses and prednisone/hives. If possible, continue fitness journey and always be thankful!.
🕊️Be patient! Remember that increments are where it is at, and focus on habits.
🕊️Weigh the food in the ‘test kitchen’!
🕊️Remember: Total loss of over 120 lbs!!
I lost 3.8 lbs this month, I was hoping for 2 lbs, so I definitely did that! I am eating 1550 calorie cap (this is maintenance at my ultimate goal weight), and trying to exercise 500 calories every day (just walking, or low impact, NOTHING hard or complex) - except for days that my hives keep me incapable of doing anything. I am thankful for all the blessings!! Now for a favorite quote from MFP threads:
@ferousavocado quote: “You will never always be motivated, so you must learn to always be disciplined. There is no one big step that does it. It is a lot of little steps. The hardest part about weight loss is not diet or exercise - it's PATIENCE. It takes a long time. I constantly remind myself that we are in this for the long haul. We are in this for life! If I have a bad day, I log it and move on - the most important thing is getting right back to it the next day. It's about sticking with it. Dedication and persistence will pay off over time.”
@kenziestabes I would definitely get a medium in unisex. In November, I bought fitted large women's shirts and I was wearing medium unisex (180 ish for a shortie). While the women's fitted was a bit tight at the time, the medium unisex was not. Also, I was glad that I got a little bit smaller, as I of course continued losing weight, and now the fitted large women's shirts are loose. But that is 8 months I got out of those shirts!! That is why I say, if you are continuing on your journey, even if you get the little bit smaller, it is totally worth it!

Things got away with me this past long weekend. I have been spending this week getting back in the groove. I stopped logging and walking after Thursday last week until Tuesday. We got a bbq grill for Father’s day to go with our new deck we remodeled last summer. We grilled kalbi (teriyaki short ribs), bbq chicken, wild caught salmon, and lamb shish kabobs. I made most of the marinades and bbq sauce. My youngest wants to grill portabella mushrooms sometime this week but after that I think we will settle down. My weight popped up a bit but it is coming down again. If I stay on this path I should see a loss soon. I have been walking the last two days. I had a half salmon salad sandwich for lunch this week from left over grilled salmon. I need to do some grocery shopping today.
I have also been doing my job search activities. On my last day at my old job someone contacted me about a possible position there. We were both excited about the possibility of my taking over her role so she can retire knowing she can train someone with the right experience. Later she let me know the timeline was delayed and the budget may or may not be there for training before this person retired. They were looking for someone who worked at the City who they would train to fill the position. So I started looking around for other positions. She called last week and they have gotten a budget for the training period and talked to HR to see how they could set up the period of training. The job wouldn’t start until November but we are doing well financially so if I haven’t gotten another job by September when they will start looking for a replacement then I will try for this. It isn’t a sure thing but I am their top candidate due to my qualifications. They still have to advertise. Anyway I will continue to apply to jobs but I am being picky. I like this job because it is at where I was working and I liked working there. I will be making the same great pay and have a good job title. I can continue to build up years on the State pension. I will have another boss but he sounds good. I have already met one of my co-workers as well. My cubicle would be nice too. Some of the stress of working at a new place will be less since I worked at that City before. I like that I will have 3 months training for doing this specific job by the person doing it now. But for now I am still looking for a job.
I got caught up reading your posts:
@pamperedinny I remember taking my youngest to all of their dance classes. Pretty fun. They were taking a Jpop dance class recently for fun and exercise but then got COVID and missed most of it. I am glad they are finding ways to get exercise. I sort of miss sloppy joes. I stay away from beef but maybe I can make it with ground lamb. I also stay away from Turkey. My body doesn’t slough off iron it doesn’t need so I have to eat meat with less iron in it. Hope you feel better soon. I was listening to a story on a study on whether to get right back to exercise after COVID or not. It was saying to go ahead when you felt like it but don’t push it. Really listen to your body and take steps to get back into it instead of trying to just power through. However they said exercise was good but take it easy at first. Stretching and breathing was a good way to start back. I haven’t had it yet but my youngest did. I am getting back on track after last weekend too.
@kenziestabes glad you are on track and half a pound is good for a vacation/diet break.
@CupcakeCrusoe I hate when the scale dies. The last time our new scales weighed us 6 lbs heavier. I still haven’t gotten over it but I am close to my old low from below this happened. But at least you are getting a fancy one so that should be fun. Glad it gave you a good baseline. Glad you had a good trip. It has been very long since I went to Mt Vernon and DC. I like got some time to yourself to enjoy being home and getting organized. I got spoiled with my Grandmothers hush puppies so I haven’t every liked those I get at restaurants.
@bonniemcc4 glad the Drs appointment went well.
@porquenoirl nice to see that you are staying in Onderland. Take care through this busy time.
@Inky_one glad it was a good week. I have a huge water bottle that I was using for taking into the office since I didn’t trust their ice. It stays cold for more than a day. I have been toying with the idea of using it now that I am at home so I don’t have to keep getting water. Sometimes it takes me a while to get around to refilling my glass.
@bojaantje3822 sometimes you can lose better by eating more if you haven’t been eating enough for your new exercise level. I do not think this was all water weight. Not sure if that is what happened but your body liked the rest. I too just went into a lower Obesity category. It isn’t that I believe in such things so much as it gives me a way of tracking progress. Nice NSV for you too. We keep going from long cold spells here to short nice weather. Not sure where our summer went to. However it is better than really hot days with smoke from wildfires blowing in from other States so we can’t even open our window like the last 2 summers.
@JAC581 glad you are better. Yay! You got the apartment. It sounds like such a good location. We love baseball but usually only go once a season since it costs a bit. The last time I lost significant weight 40 lbs it was really slow then one day I lost 4 pounds. It was after drinking 10 cups of water the day before.
@finngirl61 you are in my prayers. Hope you are able to sleep better. I am almost 70. I have a bad knee but I have been able to keep walking and I think that is helping. However I didn’t need injections after my 1st flare up. So I hope it settles down for you. Luckily you don’t need to exercise to lose weight and you can get exercise even with a bad knee but it is more challenging. You have enough challenge now. I hope things will be less of a challenge for you soon. I have missed you on here. I had a hiatus last year too. Coffee counts as a liquid if you drink it regularly and is good for you. Yes water is good too so get as much as you can. I don’t like it unless it is ice water. Sometimes water tastes better than anything else when you are thirsty. Other times meh. I do not usually get 8 cups but more like 6 on a good day.
@RavenStCloud Sounds like that new job will help. Usually I eat dinner at the table with my family but weekday breakfasts and lunches not so much. Lunch is sort of a break for me when I eat and read or chill. Breakfasts, I am usually on the computer and get organized for the day. Sometimes I forget to finish my breakfast. Luckily usually I don’t overdo the lunch but every once in a while I just seem to want to keep snacking. It is usually when I am eating lunch late. That is when I think about doing what you are doing with meals. I hope you make great progress towards you goal.
@sargemarcori empathetic sigh
@Generic_Excuse glad the card stuff is over with. We had a bought with identity theft due to bad security/locks at our gym. We have switched. It took months of ordeals to get things secure. It was my husband’s info so I had less to do with it. We had to change all the locks on our house, mail box, cars and had to switch cars with my SIL until we could do that with one of our cars. Locks on cars now are expensive. We had a locksmith at our house at midnight after it happened. They even broke into the mailbox just when the new cards came so we had to cancel them too. Years later and it is finally in the past.
@Imgoff232 Sleep helps us lose. If we don’t get enough our bodies can’t process what we eat. Congrats on the 5k. Hope the next trip goes better.
@justanotherloser007 it is a shame that you weren’t yourself when you saw everyone after all that time and you looked well and fit. However it is a funny NSV story.
@swimmom_1 I was craving baked goods last week. Not sure why and it isn’t usual for me. I had some but not too much. All the BBQing helped to get back to meats and veggies. This week I am going back to what works for me.
@seltzer_lover good job going through your closet. I think you can wait to buy in general but hope you get a few things as a reward. Thanks for the link.
@_manny_702 sounds like you are juggling everything remarkable well.
@goal06082021 hope your new exercise schedule goes well.
@aflads31 good small goals
@cosmiccurves welcome, Wow a visitor just after moving? I have a small kitchen so enjoy your new one for me. We are going to remodel it but it won’t get any bigger.

Hi everyone! Not new to MFP, however I think I need to try accountability for this to finally stick.
I got down to 174 lb in 2017 and maintained within a 15 lb range for ~ 2 years. I’d like to blame my gain on Covid, but it wouldn’t be true as my favorite place to be is at home, so I didn’t struggle with quarantine. I just got sloppy with tracking.
So stats:
F 44 y/o
5’8”
CW: 216 lb
SW: 228 lb (2014)
1st GW: 196 lb (no longer obese)
2nd GW: 174 lb (might maintain for a bit)
Ultimate GW: 150 lb
June Goals:
My plan is to use my row machine 3x per week for a minimum of 20 minutes.
I also plan to do body weight exercises 2-3x per week to strengthen my core and low back. I am trying Pilates and Yoga at the moment, as I’d like to maintain the muscle I have, but I need to be careful about my exercises so I don’t re-injure a previously herniated disc.
My goal for June (what remains) is to lose 1.5 lb., which will bring me to 214.5 lb.
Consistency has been my Achilles heel. I may need to tattoo this on my forearm because ADD makes this slippery.
-Regularly log calories under 1600
-Exercise for at least 3 days each week
-Go for a walk a couple times a week
-Snacks after 7pm are only fruit or cheese sticks (Danger Zone for mindless snacking)
-Eat at least 100g protein each day and 20 g fiber
-Get 7 hours sleep every night

well, that's what I expected, but I'm mad about it. I haven't changed anything, but since I hit 222 in late May, I haven't seen that number again. I don't know wtf is going on. I'll just keep the deficit and...I don't know. I do not have the energy to think about it right now. I am informal mom and protective momma bear to a lot of young people affected very much by the latest... *waves hand helplessly* ...and I just can't.

1lb on, but I'm gonna take that. Busy week. Lots of beige food (fish and chips. Chicken and chips. Chips). This week's goal is to get more colour onto my plate, ideally in the form of fruit and veg.
Got a brunch today but its a week till I weigh in next, plenty of time to get back on track! Hoping to get some longer walks in if the weather sorts itself out.

6/18: 184.4
6/25: 183.4
GW for June: 182.8, exactly 70lb down
GW for 2022: 155
All right, there's still a few more days in the month to see that 182.8 on the scale. I feel good about how close I am, and I'm proud of how flexible I was able to be while my mom was in town - we went out for dinner almost every night this past week. I'm also proud of me for not buying food while my husband is out of town; it's very easy to say "well, I made this food for Us which means these servings are for Him and he's not here to eat them so I have to eat something else," when that's simply not true. Since he's not here to eat the food I made, that means he's buying food elsewhere, so I definitely don't have to also do that.
My pina colada oatmeal was delicious and I'm excited to eat the rest of it, LMAO. I made a double batch so I have six more pieces in the freezer. I cut the finished oatmeal brick into bars and wrap them individually in foil, then reheat for about 15 minutes in the toaster oven. Sometimes I'll drizzle with a sauce of some kind. Tip: you can put a metal or glass condiment cup on top of your toaster oven to warm honey or syrup for easier drizzling over baked goods
I was supposed to make a batch of burritos for breakfast next week, but I do have plenty of frozen stuff in stock and I do need to make some room in the freezer. I think I remember someone asking for the recipe, I used this one: https://wellnessbykay.com/pineapple-coconut-baked-oatmeal/
My oven tends to run a little cold, I baked it for about 40 minutes. It probably could have gone longer tbh, but the bars did hold together once they were cooled and sliced with minimal stickage to the foil I wrapped them in.4 -
Good morning everyone,
189.2 today, lol, lmao. This is not a real weight, so I'm not worried. It is not possible to gain 2 lbs of fat overnight. And that is taking the 187 number as a real number, which was itself 2 lbs up overnight. So, nope.
I did end up eating over maintenance last night, fueled by enough beer to get me drunk. It's not the best coping mechanism, but I was doing it with friends, and we were all commiserating. Donate to local funds, the big funds and politicians don't freaking need it, is all I have to say.
Today is my baby's birthday party, she gets her first COVID shot this morning, AND she's invited to another kid's party just before her own, at Chuck E. Cheese. Just a LOT happening today. I will be very tired at the end of today. But hopefully so will both the kids.
I walked away in the middle to take care of babies and make platters for our party, I'll be sure to share pictures of everything when it's all laid out. I love making plates for parties.
No time for tags, but I've read all your things! Have a great Saturday!

Hi ladies. I completely missed nearly all of June! I haven't been eating properly the past month and went off track with tracking and weight loss too. But I've got my appetite back and I'm 7.4lbs down from my highest so I'm glad I didn't gain it all back!3

Good morning everyone!
188 today, not worried about it. Today is the last day of my diet break, we'll see if I feel like eating at a deficit today. If not, back on the train tomorrow.
The party yesterday was fun, the kids had a blast, and I got to play Jackbox with friends. The plates, as promised:
We've still got almost full fruit and veg plates in the fridge, so we'll be snacking on good stuff for the next couple days.
Plan for today:
1. make chicken in the crock pot for the week
2. bag up some of the fun fruit for myself for this week, so I don't have to do it in the mornings
3. figure out what I'm making for dinners this week, and prep if needed
4. the house is clean, so I guess just... chill out? and clean after the babies before bed
5. bathtime for babies
There are calls for a general strike tomorrow, I'm not sure if that's widespread enough to make a difference, but if I hear about it from somewhere with a big reach, I might participate, keep the babies home from daycare.
@roz0810 welcome back! You've got this!
Have a good Sunday, everyone!4 -

I forgot to update this post yesterday, and did a horrible job of tracking over the last week, so I have no idea how I did on my goals. It is definitely not looking like I will be making my weight goal for the month, but I am ok with that. I actually have been going back and forth as to whether I just want to stop here... I am pretty darn happy with how I am looking, except my 4 baby tummy, but even that doesn't bother me much. I finally got my kiddos back after their first 2 week vacation block with their dad. I am sooo glad - I missed them so much. Today we will be heading to the water park since it is supposed to hit about 90°F.
And here's a pic from Friday. The only thing I didn't like was all the grey hair, hahaha.
Goals for June
