Such a wonderfully dramatic difference, and your joy is obvious. Congratulations!

Wow. You look wonderful--Good for you!

^^^Agree! Very encouraging, especially for those of us who have tried for decades to lose weight, and now that we know about LCHF are in such a big hurry to get 'er done, but the going is slow! Thank you for posting it, @wabmester.

Congratulations on your great achievement, and all best wishes to you for your surgery and recovery! It's so good that your diligence has put you in a much healthier position to recover well.

I read both posts and my immediate take on it was his lack of seriousness about keto and more interest in writing an amusing blog post. It would be great if he would seriously pursue/learn about LCHF so he could be of real help to his clients. They're in a real life/death situation for which he could offer true help.…

New follow-up post by Dr. Fung just posted: "The Biggest Loser Diet - Explained!" https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/biggest-loser-diet-explained/

Candy, chips, and anything made with flour is a huge slippery slope for me. When tempted, I've been telling myself: "you're burning fat right now. Do you want to keep that going and get healthy, or do you want to eat this (whatever) and change over to storing fat?" At this point of desperation, it's a pretty simple choice.

Me, too. Thanks for the tip!

So happy for you, @Sunny_Bunny_ ! Not only have you had a successful year personally, you share your experience and knowledge with the rest of us who are coming alongside and behind you. I always am eager to read your comments, and I've learned much from you. Thank you for being an inspiration! <3

In reading this thread and understanding what Dr. Fung is saying, maybe it's important to read about his refrigerator/freezer analogy. https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/obesity-solving-the-two-compartment-problem/ I've experienced a big difference between eating lowered calories (whether SAD or LCHF) 3x day and eating…

When I have sinus/cold problems, I use this sinus rinse to clear it. It really, really helps and shortens the infection. amzn.to/1VBLmNM

Excellent read; thank you!

Exactly how I felt when I read it. I don't want any unnecessary impact on my insulin!
-
I just read this today from Fung's The Obesity Code: "Fatty foods can also stimulate insulin, but pure fats such as olive oil do not stimulate insulin or glucose. However, few foods are eaten as pure fat. It may be that the protein component of fatty foods drives the insulin response. Despite the higher caloric value of…

My eyes are quite dry and I also have glaucoma and growing cataracts, so I was searching for nutrients that might help. I found info on the Dr. Mercola website. Maybe it would give you some ideas/help? articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2015/04/13/protect-eyesight.aspx I followed his recommendation and ordered a…

I've been doing 18:6 most days during the last 3 weeks and did my first 24 hr fast this past weekend. It went very well; actually, surprisingly well. Black coffee and bone broth carried me through, and I wasn't ravenous at the end of 24 hrs. Will definitely start doing 24 hrs weekly. I was down 1 lb this morning, but only…

What you all have been doing is contagious. I've been eating much more ground beef and bought my first pkg of 73/27% yesterday. Somehow you've made it much more appealing. :) Congrats on your successful month!
-
Makes me want to fast for longer periods! Thanks for the link.

I think I've watched all his videos and read tons on his website. Very, very helpful! His book arrived in the mail yesterday, and I'm looking forward to reading it today. And bone broth is great, esp during IF! I feel like I've finally been let in on a big weight-loss secret. :)

As a result of this thread, yesterday I ordered gelatin collagen hydrolysate:amazon.com/Great-Lakes-Gelatin-Collagen-Hydrolysate/dp/B005KG7EDU/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1459886371&sr=1-1&keywords=collagen+great+lakes . The reviews are great, and I hope it's as helpful as it appears. It doesn't gel; it can be…

Just had my sardine lunch. They didn't have heads, so not to worry about that! :) I ate them with a mix of cauliflower, broccoli and carrots. With butter. It was tasty, didn't mind it at all.

I get them packed in olive oil. You eat the whole thing; you can feel the bones, but they're very tender, not crunchy. Potent smell! Pretty soft, flaky but not mushy unless you mush them with your fork. I don't love them, but can almost enjoy them on the right food. I used to eat them on toast or crackers or on salads w/…

Ha! I'll keep that in mind!
