  • i am so sorry you don't have the support at home. As someone who grew up as an overweight child, it only gets harder for them the longer it goes on. i would absolutely have a very serious talk with your husband without the kids around about making sure the right food choices are being made for the family as a whole, as…
  • male/female friendships can be complicated- however, it does sound like you crossed some trainer/trainee boundaries. discussing your breakup being one of them. although my husband has female friends, and i do not have a problem with it and have never tried to control who he is friends with because he is a grown man. i…
  • Pizza (that will be tonight)
  • I agree with everyone else. Lots of walking- Also quit smoking. I quit June 1, 2015 which was the day I got serious about being healthy. Every time I wanted to smoke I went for a walk instead. It really has improved my lung capacity and breathing during working out 1000% I still have those moments when I want to…
  • I sit at a desk all day and snacking is the worst. I look around and people have cheetos and popcorn and candy...not to mention my job likes to provide pizza, doughnuts, cakes, sandwiches slathered in mayo haha...... it's the worst when you're trying to get healthy although last time they bought pizza my boss was nice…
  • I love rewards... i told myself if i lost 10 lbs this first month then i would get a tattoo i've been wanting to get (ok, i know that is more than a small reward but i needed it to be big to keep me motivated to get through the first month and start building a habit lol)
  • thank you! i think advice is really important- especially from people who have done it themselves. If i knew everything, i wouldn't be in the position of having to lose 100 lbs lol the forums are great reading for motivation and i appreciate everyone who responded
  • thanks for replying. I really appreciate all the tips i can get at this point :) to address some of the things you mentioned -i realized i typed weight loss of 130 lbs, that was a typo  my goal weight is 130lbs...goal weight loss 100 lbs I do own a food scale and something does not go into my mouth until it has been…
  • haha...yeah if i weighed 100 lbs i'd have other issues. I think while i was multitasking my brain was torn between typing my goal weight (130 lbs) and my goal weight loss (100 lbs) btw the skin thing, i am always worried about that. I hope losing slow enough as well as the strength training will help prevent that
  • sorry i am at work and i think i missed some of the responses that was a total typo..i meant to say i want to lose 100 lbs
  • hmm i'll have to look at it and figure out how to create meals in it- since I do eat the same thing every day- that would def. help make me more consistent in logging thanks for the tip!
  • that makes sense :) I didn't really believe there was a benefit of not logging per se. Just making the time in my schedule to weigh and count calories took some doing so making more time to actually enter that information just didn't seem super appealing haha....but I def. see your point and will probably change that
  • i weigh my food from my meal plan daily to make sure each and every day i eat exactly the same amount of food daily, so i do count calories- i just don't take the time to enter them. i'm not sure how that changes the calorie counts at all? haha i don't snack throughout the day so i'm not eating so often that i can't keep…
  • i think you missed the point- yes i want instant gratification- doesn't everyone? but in the real world that's not always possible- that is a MENTAL thing, not a weight loss thing. and yes, i measure and weigh and prepare food very carefully every day- i just don't type it into the computer, so- that throws off calories…
  • breakfast: steel cut oats
  • I have those! LOL the last week i've been able to do "assisted" dips and chin ups---- now the assist machines offset most of my weight but i'm still able to do about 15 at 60 lbs.... I was super excited about that
  • hmm well i don't think i'm special. i realize i don't log meals but i also don't stray from my meal plan which i have down to exactly 1200 calories a day and 90 minutes at the gym 6 days a week (30 minutes strength training and 60 minutes of cardio)- so i don't believe putting the work in is the problem- but thanks -in…
  • so this is going to be a silly question- but i'm still new to using myfitnesspal....and i've heard that term before and never really understood it---- what exactly is considered a non-scale victory?
  • hahaha it does have a nice beer list- sadly since it's for work no beer for me
  • that is exactly what i tell myself. time is going to pass and i can either be slightly less heavy when the time comes or i can continue to be overweight and unhappy
  • thanks for all the advice! i think in the end- i'm just gonna enjoy the lunch for whatever it is- eat a lighter breakfast and a lighter dinner- and then move on. I don't want my own anxiety about the food to be on my mind to the point where i cant focus on the meeting- which is more important than one meal although if…
  • i think about how much extra time i'd have to go to the gym to work off the extra calories. that usually does it for me. If i still want it after that, i try to find a low calorie alternative- for example the other day i wanted ice cream- so i tried to talk myself out of it, but i still really wanted it. So, I went to the…
  • This! i love zoodles- we make a spaghetti sauce packed with veggies and put it on top of zoodles- and it is delicious. some people saute their zoodles- we found we like them raw
  • they do have a menu online- but no nutrition information to go with it i'm thinking this sounds alright: Roasted Corn & Avocado Salad Mixed greens, tomatoes, pistachios, queso fresco, chili-lime vinaigrette -and having them add grilled chicken to it -the dressing is the only thing that worries me bc i know there can be a…
  • i do have a meal out once every other Saturday that is considered a "treat"- i don't worry *as much* about calories- but i tend to not eat my calories back those weeks and work out a little extra those days to burn off some additional cals. even though i try to remain in my weekly calorie allocation i consider it a "treat"…
  • 11 months is frkn amazing! i have 100 lbs to lose- started the 1st of this month and am down 6 lbs and it feels like it is going to be forever to get down to goal
  • I also have 100 lbs to lose- it seems overwhelming when I look at it as a whole- so i focus on small goals. I started June 1st and my first goal is to lose 10 lbs- i'm down 6 lbs right now :) for me and my husband it's a permanent lifestyle change to be healthier and more active
  • hello! i am a bit younger but also have 100 lbs to lose. it seems like a lot when i look at it all at once, so i shoot for smaller goals to make it seem more attainable. I started two weeks ago and am down 2.5 lbs (that was with a rough first week and eating some things i really should not have)...week 2 went better. for…
