  • I'm 5'5" and weigh 125. I used to weigh 231 a few years ago. Tracking and measuring food along with exercise is the only thing that ever worked for me. Good job so far. Keep at it. The rewards are worth the effort.
  • 5'5" male goal 120 or under. Last 10 day average 120.7. Bounces around a bit.
  • Just for fun. 62yo male here. 5'5" 120lbs. Small (14 1/2 33" shirt, 29" waist Levis.
  • I don't know. I've wondered the same thing. I have a TV in front of mine and watch movies and series. Working my way through Fringe right now. Grease and Mama Mia are great to watch while on the treadmill too.
  • Several years ago we put a TV/DVD player in front of the treadmill. Most mornings right now I do 3 miles while rewatching episodes of Fringe. This morning I did about 3.6 miles at 5.5 incline in 62 minutes watching Master and Commander. It has really helped me stay on.
  • That is funny. I was feeling around my trachea too thinking the same thing. I like that I don't have to wear suspenders any more to keep my pants up-evidently I do have hip bones.:)
  • I started Dec 26, 2014 at about 180lbs. (5'5" 62 yo male. 20 years ago I was at 230lbs) I am down to 127lbs today and maintaining. If you stick with it, measure the food and keep the diary it will work. Take each day as it comes. It gets easier. Be patient. The time is going to go by. When you have to buy new clothes, when…
  • I am in the same boat. My goal had been 140 but now I want to get to 130 and things have slowed. I try to take the long view. While I may eventually take in more calories, I am going to keep on measuring food and keeping the diary. So while it takes patience I know it will happen. It is still frustrating. 62 yo male 5'6"…
  • My pants fit my butt. I don't have to wear suspenders (braces). More stamina. People mistake me for Rocky Balboa. (Ok, I made that last one up)
  • Talk about getting kicked when you're down. But you did lose. You burned more than 400 calories a day just by breathing. But it is frustrating. My weight loss always seems to stall when I am trying to get into the next lower decile. (like right now)

  • 60 minutes on treadmill @ 3.8 mph incline 4.5 5 min cool down
  • Soon to be 62 I started Dec 26, 2014 at 178 (I was once 231) I am down to about 141 now with perhaps 10-12 more to go.
  • All I know is that I have been keeping about 400-500 beneath my calorie goal (500 cal deficit/day) and in the last 18 weeks or so I have lost about 36 pounds. So the math seems about right. The fat seems to have turned into CO2, water and energy. Thermodynamics, not just a good idea, it's the law.
  • 2 Keebler reduced fat crackers, 1 tsp of reduced fat PB and 4 oz of non fat milk 100 cals. Works for me. 2 Hershey miniatures are only 84 if you need the chocolate.

  • Diet tonic with lime and Bombay Sapphire gin.
  • Take your time and enjoy the ride. Lose weight too fast and you'll end up with baggy skin. I've lost about 33 since 12/26/14 with maybe 15 to go (hopefully). Do it long enough so it becomes a life long habit (maintaining, not loosing I mean) Good luck, You can do it.

  • I have a TV with DVD player in front of treadmill. Best movie for 4 mile brisk (3.7 mph) Mama Mia.
  • I do about 18 miles on the treadmill a week. Great exercise and simple to do. Keep up the good work. Congrats on the 20 lbs.
  • Just go out and enjoy yourself. You are not going to blow up from a meal even if you eat unclean things. As Neil Diamond sang,"Just go with the feelin' it usually works" Besides we all must eat a peck of dirt. (or gold, according to Robert Frost)
  • Analytical chemist
  • Get it treated. There are lots of blood pressure monitors for home use. I got mine on Amazon. 140/107 sounds pretty high for white coat hypertension. I've been on meds since I was in my thirties. You can't always deal with it through exercise and diet. Don't feel like it is a failure on your part-blame your grandparents.…
  • Great job. Conratulations
  • You are probably tired of hearing that it takes time and to have patience but, unfortunately, that's the truth. Stay the course. Also remember that by exercising and eating well you are doing good things for your body that will not be measured by tape or scale. Health and fitness always pay off and only become more…
  • I'm gonna get one And leave enough room for dessert Chicken ripple ice cream
  • I have one Hershey miniature a day. 42 calories. It keeps the chocolate demon quiet and eases the stretch between lunch and dinner.
