  • I had the same experience back in January. Fever was 103F when taken at an urgent care clinic. I don't think I ever had a fever that high. Negative flu test. I was told it's probably viral and prescribed both Tamiflu and antibiotics. Didn't take either and got better in a few days, although I coughed for a few weeks after…
  • So excited someone has mentioned The Hacker's Diet! IMHO, the best book out there on weight loss, and I have read quite a few (it's also free). Old book but spot on. Before the rise of online tracking tools like MFP.
  • It will - as long as you lower your calorie intake!

  • Sorry, but this is disturbing. Your BMI is 17.5 and you are trying to lose weight because you think your thighs and butt are fat? I would recommend talking to a medical professional before you lose another pound!

  • I don't plan to log forever, but I am committing to a daily weighing in and going back to logging when the trend creeps up.
  • Why don't you lose, say, half of it (about 7 lb) over 14 weeks and see how you feel/look? That only means cutting 250 cals so you will still be eating 2,000+/day. Another thought, sounds like you a lot of weight training. Have you had any (reputable) body fat analysis done to see where you are? You may have a very healthy…

  • This is exactly how it is for me. "lifelong healthful habits" need to be maintained by certain level of motivation and a constant, borderline OCD effort otherwise it's a slip just like you have described. People that have been overweight at some point have a broken "Eat watch", in other words, self regulation is not that…
  • At my highest BMI of 26.7, no healthcare provider ever called my overweight and suggested I lose weight, even through it was truly overweight weight for me. IMHO, your health will not suffer at all from having BMI on the high side of the healthy range.

  • Agreed with above - goal of borderline underweight BMI is totally not worth the trouble required to maintain it.
  • I am 5'5.5. I look and feel good at 130 lb, "okay" at 140lb. Currently about 150lb, trying to get to 130lb. But, like others have said, it really depends on your build and muscle mass.
  • I just learned that it's much easier if you weigh the entire cooked recipe and edit the recipe number of servings as 1oz (or 1 gram). If my total meatloaf weighs say 40oz, when I eat a 4oz portion my number of servings would be 4.
  • I love losing weight on frozen meals. Easy peasy, no obsession with food I tend to get with meal prep and planning. I like Stouffer's and Chili's.
  • I am one of those people that didn't lose anything on keto. On top of it, it gave me dry eyes. It can not be coincidence - I tried keto/Atkins about 3 times and got dry eyes every time several weeks into, which went away shortly after adding carbs back.
  • I get that guacamole may have a healthier nutritional profile, but what I am saying it has a lower fullness factor to me (satiation to calorie count ratio).
  • Whole potatoes (I was surprised, so filling), mushrooms, veggies in general (especially cauliflower, cucumber, cabbage). Someone mentioned McDonald's ice cream - yes! Pork tenderloin, filet mignon, shrimp for protein.
  • You can make your own calcium "supplement" powder with dried and crushed egg shells. No calories, cheap and plenty natural.
  • Egg muffins! You can make them as healthy (or greasy and delicious) as you like. Sausage, bacon, ham, onion, pepper, spinach, kale, mushrooms, potatoes, various cheeses... whatever you like, have in the fridge and fits your goals. I bake 2 dozen at a time and keep in a freezer. Move one or two to fridge the night before,…
  • I am not huge on salads and bulk vegetables. Banza Chickpea pasta with sauteed portobello mushrooms and 1/2 tablespoon of grass fed butter. Good amount of protein and a TON a fiber. Also, Mestemacher pumpernickel rye sandwiches with pastrami beef.
  • Jennings CJ4000 4000g x 0.5g Digital Scale is what I have now, I have been through several digital scales. Accuracy down to a gram is important for me for measuring high calorie items like oil, butter, etc. The ones I bought at Walmart, Target, etc. were not very accurate when I tested by weighing coins. Mine includes AC…

  • Jenniator, I have good news for you, 167cm=5'5.79" according to Google calculator.
  • Also, depends on hight - 10 pounds are more noticeable on a short person. Personal experience, it took 14 pounds to lose a size, but I tend to lose weight on my top half first.
  • Also, you can try zigzaging your calories. On the days I feel like I am not that hungry, I stop short of my goal, and eat close to maintenance the other days. Good luck!
  • There is some evidence that calorie requirement depends on whether or not a person lost a significant amount of weight. There has been some discussion here: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10183188/calorie-requirements-for-a-thin-person-vs-someone-who-lost-weight-to-become-thin/p4 Unfortunately, calorie…
