i love kettlebell workouts. that and walking are my only forms of formal exercise. second the recommendation for the lauren brooks dvds. also, the book 'the swing' by tracy reifkind.

for example, two of the three days i entered this week came in at over 3000. the other was close to 2700. this is a relatively typical eating pattern for me, and has been over the course of the six months that i have been eating this way. as i said, i exercised a bit at first, then stopped. recently added a bit back in.…

i sm being generous in stating that it's over 2000. it's normally between 2500-3000. rarely if ever under 2500.

i know what i eat, and what it comes in at. and i eat pretty much the same thing every day. sometimes it varies, but the average is over 2000. @strong_curves you are welcome to add me and view my diary if you are truly interested. it's not terribly complete, as i eat ad libitum and only make entries periodically out of…

according to the calculations most of you seem to go by and trust, even overestimatimg my level of physical activity, i would have to have been eating less than 2000 calories per day over the past six months in order to lose the weight that i have. i know beyond a shadow of a doubt that i have not. make of it what you…

however, i get the sense that you are not truly interested nor are wanting to have a polite, respectful conversation about it. if you are, that's fine. we can. but as i said i am not interested in debating or proving anyone else wrong or myself right. i was simply sharing my experience.

hormones which involve metabolism are balancing. for instance, i was chronically hypoglycemic and had insomnia and pmdd and no longer experience these things. it's all connected to metabolism.
-
i follow my body's natural hunger signals and trust its wisdom in finding homeostasis. i have not only lost fat, but gained muscle tone. my body is restructuring. i believe the weight loss is happening because i am eating in such a way that my body is nourished, and my metabolism is balancing. ymmv.

*shrug* okay! (:

*not eating at s deficit. (:

i am not interested in proving anything. i know how much i eat, i know how much i expend. it doesn't really vary. i am eating at a deficit, and i am losing weight. (i average approximately 3000 calories per day, am not particularly active and don't exercise much. if you can conceive of a way that i could be burning in…

i am not really that concerned about it. (: excuse me?

i am not really that concerned about it. (:

i am only mentoring/tutoring this semester so mainly seated. other semesters a combo of lecture/circulating, but again, i figured the appropriate level of activity into the TDEE calculation.
-
i drive to class. teach daily. 5 min walk from where i park (but i figured that into the TDEE calculation, in fact i even figured in the bit of exercise i currently do, even though i have only done it maybe one out of the past six months). i eat at home, generally twice per day. some semesters i brought lunch from home,…

(: okay

no, but i know how much i eat daily (package weight) and i have logged it steadily before, so i know about what it comes in at. it's really okay if you guys don't believe me. :-D
-
i really am not. i have been eating pretty much the same thing every day for over six months. i haven't exercised much at all either. i was at first, then stopped when grad school got crazy. just now finally added a bit back (a few low pace walks, 10 min of kettlebell once or twice a week) about two weeks ago. weight loss,…

nope.

how high do you presume it would be? i have lost around 20# in about 6 months (no, not all water weight - it's been slow but steady), have gained musculature, and have exercised little. oh, and i just turned 40.
-
(: okay.
-
according to that calculator, my TDEE would be 1998. i average around 2500-3000 calories a day.
-
yes, very low carb. 5'4", 159#, what's TDEE? no problem, happy to answer questions.
-
i am.
-
what about folks who are not eating at a deficit and who are nevertheless losing weight (fat, specifically)?
-
what would you like to know?

:)

wendy's - double stacks or baconator (can add extra patties), plain, no bun. mcd - sausage patties and round eggs (even easier now that they serve breakfast all day!)

msg gives me an instant, horrible, nauseating migraine that lasts hours or days! trader joe's does have some meat sticks that don't have any msg though! they're pretty yummy. i don't really snack anymore though, since going zc. pretty much just eat twice a day.

i ate about half a lb. of raw 73/27. ground beef. think that's dinner. (:
