  • Just wanted to remind you that sometimes Chinese places will make you retain some water weight which shows on the scale the next morning. Just remember not to stress about that if it does happen and in a day or so it will be gone. Happens to me EVERY time. Happy Bday!
  • I am not super athletic but when I was training for a 5K my water weight did this same thing. It is a great thing our bodies are designed to do to heal muscle but since we are a generation of weight conscience people we see it on the scale.
  • Thanks to all of you for posting. This has been so encouraging. The success is fantastic and you should all be SO proud!
  • Don't know if this posted earlier. Can't see it. I would say go weigh. Yes doing what you are doing you may have lost 1lb. You may have lost 1/2 and that's great too or you may have lost nothing yet which means you may have success just around the corner. Either way the journey I am finding is all about consistency. If you…
  • I wonder if it just is a decision about whether the 10 extra pounds is worth the crazy effort it takes to maintain that at your healthy already weight. I bet you look fantastic at 130 so i wouldn't spend my life wasting one more day trying to kill myself to be "120" if you are healthy.
  • That is slowly becoming my mindset - every pound lost is a pound I don't carry around anymore no matter how slow it is. I would love to lose 35lbs. Congrats OP to a job well done with consistency!
  • Great job! Very impressive and I love your user name. If it is anything like what I think it is then declaring that over yourself is probably one of the ways you had success at this!
  • Again whoo hoo for all you guys! Thanks for posting. Keep em coming!
  • People get out! You are incredible!
  • Wow! Great success! I posted another thread about this asking for daily calorie goals if you all would be willing to give more info. You guys are awesome!
  • You people are amazing! Thanks so much for taking the time to post these success pictures. It really helps to see people your same height. People look so much younger!!!
  • That is an incredibly powerful story! I am so proud of you and that fact that they are baggy now is hilarious! You rock those baggie jeans girl! I have a pair of pants I hold on too and now I believe I will someday post that story too.
  • I am looking to lose 60 pounds give or take depending on how it looks on me and how easy it is to maintain. I am tracking goals in segments at a time so that I can be ok if I stop at a higher weight than I was in my 20s. That said - if someone asked you when you were desperate to lose weight "How would you feel to be 5…
  • I have a thread on here about this very issue. My new digital scale is 6-10 pounds heavier than my analog scale which I was using before in tandem with another digital scale. At first I was bummed when I stepped on the new digital one but then I just decided I didn't care. My clothes are not any tighter and I am not…
  • You have more success than I do in this area but I am going to encourage you anyway. You are still at a good spot. Find a number of calories that you are comfortable with and lose at that level even if its a half pound to 1 pound a week. This will decrease the stress and make it seem more enjoyable and worthwhile. You…
  • That is incredible. I know how hard that is!
  • Thanks everyone for posting these photos. Very impressive results from hard work and dedication. I am also struck by how kind everyone is to each other in encouraging/celebrating the success of others.
  • Great post. I am at the beginning of my journey and posts like these make me see that it is a long process and there are great achievements the entire way. Congrats! All I see is a beautiful victory!
  • 2000 - 3000 here too. I am keeping calories to 1400 - 1600 depending on the events of the day. I know for me the restriction causes a lot of internal stress and small binges right now so this way I can keep the fun things to eat and still keep in this calorie range. Hopefully later I will intuitively want to clean up my…
  • 5'7" and goal of 145-140 I will see when I get there. My daughter (14 and healthy thin) commented one day on how the pictures of 40-50 year old women in magazines always look like they are trying really hard to be thin - they seem all skin and bones even when they have muscle. She didn't understand why they couldn't just…
  • Thanks for the responses. I love the technical stuff PAV8888! You all are right I need to just see the downward progression and not care about the weight. It was just frustrating to think I weighed 206 and seeing 214. That's a big difference and should have been noticeable in my clothes etc. I think I will just keep the…
  • Wow what a transformation! I am the same stats starting so that is encouraging to see your journey! Thanks for sharing!
  • Your arms are awesome! You must have done some weight training in that year. Congrats on a major accomplishment - 50lbs is so amazing. You seem to a be a great Mom and I am thrilled your son was enough to motivate you towards health.
  • Your beautiful long neck is what I saw first. Congrats on the ongoing transformation!
  • No way - don't get them a size smaller - celebrate the victory now! You deserve them and whenever anyone asks you about your fabulous shoes you will have a great story to tell.
  • Thank you so much for posting! It is encouraging when people take the time to post their successes. Your dedication and courage to change is evident. I am very impressed!
  • My two cents and this isn't about rice but I LOVED that analogy. :) Even with my weight struggles I really still believe the body was/is designed perfectly but character and the development of that is just as important to true health. Moderation is the key to having a body that would have the right balance of things to…
  • Working on this but in the afternoon not at night. The protein factor does help. I do know that from experience. Also I read a book It Was Me All Along. Great book and the author struggled with this. Paraphrasing the book her nutritionist/counselor asked her if she could stop bingeing and she said she didn't think she…
  • If I am correct it is a very lean diet of 500 calories while taking the injections. (May be pill form now). Friend did it and lost a lot of weight but gained it back. Who wouldn't lose weight on 500 calories a day for a short period of time?! Personally I wouldn't want to mess around with hormones. This is simplified of…
