199 - 6 more pounds to go
-
Your weight is my goal weight at 5'7" isn't it funny how we all are different.
-
My mother lost 75 lbs on it and kept it off for a year but couldn't sustain it. Blood tests and all during the weight loss with doctor supervision in 1997 and results were good. I have done Atkins in the past a couple of times to get off sweets and was able to quickly lose weight but couldn't keep it off past 3 weeks…

Let me clarify - the angry red marks are gone just very light lines which show your body has gone through an amazing journey - go you!

Wow! That is super amazing. I like to see the angry red marks almost disappear. You look beautiful!

You know leftover dinner at breakfast when you are trying to do low carb high protein helps because eggs and bacon etc gets boring after a while. Its fast and sets off your day right.
-
This is delicious. Had it last night but it is for low carb high protein high fat diets. I am trying to kick sugar so doing this until I can get the cravings out of the way and balance a little more. Cut up a head of cabbage and mix with favorite oil and salt and pepper. Put on a cookie sheet on 400 and roast until it…

I am going to approach this from a different perspective than the food combo issue which could definitely be contributing. My day "starts" up again around mid afternoon when I have to start carting my kids to all their sporting events and I have found I run to sugar and snacking to get that added bump of energy to make…
-
Runaround - my point exactly. The added sugars aren't good for you but natural sugars are. Your brain craves quick energy and it can get energy from fat and natural sugars too but it just has to work a little harder. I was talking about switching to things that are better for you and that your brain (which does cause the…

I meant not swaps for other unhealthy things. That doesn't include the fruits, whole grains, fats etc that others have said. Just wanted to clarify my position.
-
I would not use swaps too much as then you are just getting addicted to something else - my two cents. Maybe reduce I am sure others have said this. Make coffee at home for a week and use a measured amount of creamer and sugar to know what you have and log it. Anything at home seems better than getting stuff out. Then the…

That is great!

You are awesome!!!

First off - haven't read the 3 other pages of replies so this may be redundant. You said something about getting on a plane. Did you fly somewhere and then you all started this conversation? Reason I ask is because if you were on "vacation" you may be more active then you were at home. Different scale could make a…

That is awesome and just what I needed as I sit here tonight ready to get committed again. Thanks for sharing!

Jadey thanks for sharing those tips

Mamadon this is actually great news. I think what makes it so difficult for me is that I know it is lifestyle change. You don't just lose it and your done.
-
I love this reply!!! I do so many of those thing so yes it does impact a lot of areas of my life. Thanks
-
Thanks for the replies. Sorry I was away for a few days. These all make sense and I appreciate your honesty!

Wow! Congrats on the fantastic job!

I read a really good article about this at one time or it may have been on here. Our bodies get used to a certain weight and when we feel we are "self sabotaging" we are actually just eating back up to the calories that kept us at the higher weight. We had a "habit" of eating there and the body got used to that habit. Let…

Congrats on the Yoga! That's awesome. Being in the healthy range must be so amazing! I am leaving on vacation too and wondered if strategies for this include setting calories to maintenance and then exercising while you are there. You know that way you can't technically gain. Even if the scale says you did it will be…

I do now. It helps me to fight this mentally watching that my body does exactly what it is supposed to do - gain some water weight and then drop it when it is no longer needed. Kind of cool that things like that go on with no input from me. :D
-
Congrats! That is a huge accomplishment and at a healthy consistent pace. Go you!

I really want a fitbit HR but can't see spending the money at this stage in my weight loss efforts because I don't really know that I will use it. Maybe I can set a goal of 20lbs lost and I get the fit bit. Going on a Disney trip though and it would be awesome to see the numbers after walking all day at the parks.
-
I don't play basketball but would consider that active not lightly active.
-
I know you have MANY responses now so my two cents is just that - I agree with farfromthetree - Have one candy a day to avoid the temptation just make sure you stay under your calorie goals. And if your calorie goal is 1200 calories (for many it is because they choose lose 2 lbs a week on goals) and you are working around…
