I love cycling. It's a very good stress reliever. I've lost weight. My lung capacity has increased. I see scenery on the bike I would never see in a car. And I've make good friends. It's a win-win.

The Omen. Plays with your mind. I watched that late at night on my own. I couldn't look in the mirror while cleaned my teeth. I slept with one eye open.

It's not just healthy eating out that's expensive. Healthy eating in is as well. It's like being rewarded for eating crap. Should be the other way round!!

It's shift work that gets in the way for me. Because I work shifts, I don't get to see my family as often as I'd like. Which means I can't get out on the bike as often as I'd like. It's difficult striking the right balance.

I smoked from the age of 13 to about 23. I used National No Smoking Day to kick start packing it in. I just went cold turkey. No cutting down, or patches or anything like that. There no e-cigs then. My wife started making remarks about the size of my belly about 3 years ago. I was 14 stone. My son suggested Insanity DVDs. I ended up buying Tapout XT DVDs and a road bike. I'm now hovering just over 12 stone. She no longer makes remarks about my belly because I don't have one anymore. Instead, I'm now "obsessed with…

Like they said, go to a bike shop. If you can get a bike fit there, they may give you a small discount off a new bike. And do your research. A good bike shop will sort you out. I thought I went to a good shop to get my first bike. It was a Dawes Giro 300. Not bad to start off. A little heavy. The shop didn't mention…

Have you tried HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)? I have a DVD box set of Tapout XT. There's also Insanity. Equipment is minimal with Tapout. Included in the box are resistance bands , a small towel, a recipe booklet, and an exrecipe programme. If you stick at for 90 days and follow the nutrition, you will have the…

Hello Emily. I've been on MFP for 2 years and not known there was a community here!! Anyway, MFP, Strava and Under Armour Record have all helped me lose 2.5st. Although buying a bike and a a Tapout XT box set has contributed, nonetheless, it has been noticed by many friends that I have lost weight. So my advice: buy a road…
