Healthy food is more expensive than convenience food for a start. Our busy working lives restrict our exercise.

We're selfish humans who have a hard time practicing self-control.

Hardgainers are trying to put on muscle, not fat. Guaranteed if a hard gainer ate 4 large pizzas a day, they'll gain weight.

Because the body is designed well to store energy and not give it up as easy.

Because it's easier to overeat than it is to undereat...and from an evolutionary perspective, we're much more efficient with storing energy than expending it.

To be fair though, when I put on my weight, it was very slow over the course of about a decade...took about nine months to strip it off.

I blame growing up in the Sixties when the catch phrase "if it feels good, do it!" began.
